Fantasy War of The Three Kings

Gideon went over to help her stand, "No it's fine. You're tired, let me take you to the room you'll be sleeping in." He smiled, leading her to his room. There was a rather big bed, a desk, a mirror, a window, and it all looked non-decorative at all. "You can sleep here, it is my room but I don't... Really sleep...." He spoke softly. He rarely got sleep, here just took naps during the day and that was it. Gideon led Amanda to the bed and walked out of the room "Need anything?" He called out to her. "I can get you some water if it will help, or an extra pillow." He was taking off his clothes in the main room behind a screen, changing into more casual clothing.

Amanda nods and leaned into him. He walked her to the room. She looked around the room, she nods and wasn't surprised to see it clean."oh um thank you I don't want to intrude." She said. She untied her cloak. She watched him leave,"No thank you." She said. She took off her boots and pouches. She took her belt off, but put the dagger under the pillow. She laid down and closed her eyes, the minute her head hit the pillow she fell asleep curled up in a small ball. She wasn't kidding about not taking up to much room.

Gideon walked inside his room quietly and saw Amanda asleep. He watched her, leaning against the door frame. He was exhausted, but she was asleep so he felt like he needed to stay awake just in case. He walked back to the chimney, moving the logs around so that the soup could cook better. He set a chair down right outside his room and sat in it, holding his long sword. Gideon never took half measures, so he decided to guard the room until Amanda woke up. It dawned upon Gideon that he had gone almost twenty nine hours without sleep. He had lied down on his bed twice maybe, but other than that he had not actually slept. He mumbled to himself and decided that he would do so once Amanda woke up. Gideon didn't want to just crawl into bed with her and sleep right next to her like that. It was kind of creepy to do something like that, although Christopher most likely would have done it. The thought made him chuckle to himself quietly.

Another day passed by, catching Elmina already awake by the main yard. Her fingers trembled slightly holding the edge of the arrow, now fully pulled back when soon it hit its target. Then she repeated the process a few times, concentrating the best way she could. Another day going by and the arguments with her father had not ceased to slow down no matter what.

Finally, after two-three hours after the sunrise, Elina lowered the bow, letting her eyes to gaze upon he lands once again. Some noises could be heard coming from far away of the market. Now she waS ready to go for a ride with Syn, Turning her body to the other side just as a servant approached her and whispered.

" M'Lady, I am afraid I have some news for you. Some other servants have heard your father in a conversation, saying that a man will arrive here with his men. I don't know why M'Lady but.. Also- I hear that the King is planning to marry you when you are 20 years old."

Elmina could not believe what she was hearing, find it hard to believe, yet again it was her Father they were talking about. Anything was possible these days.

But marrying her to a total stranger? This is beyond the line, outrageous.

Anger boiled within her veins, while her face turned pale and white, same like the snow/ Elmina stepped faster towards the stables, where Her horse waited for her ride patiently. She felt as if her heart will explode inside her chest, Her mind buzzing with questions. Deep inside she felt betrayed. By her own father.

Without any remorse, Or more Over thinking Elmina got up on Syn's back, holding the reins And made him gallop faster towards the gates. Her hair Was swingIng by in the cold breeze of the frosty wind. Soon, tiny snowflakes begun to fall from the sky, covering her cloak, some melting away in her thick, black hair.

The horse begun to have a running peace, once outside the grounds of the castles and making their way towards the woods.

" Ahh! I cannot believe my own father doing this to me! His own daughter has the right to love whomever she wants! "

Elmina said on an upset tone of voice, patting Syn's neck, now slowing down, stepping in the few inch of snow. She let out a deep sigh out of frustration, gripping tighter the reins as her dark eyes looked around the forests.

She felt free here, in the nature full with snow, cold and ice. Elmina wanted to be like the snow, beautiful but Cold. Unfortunately, she had a soft heart and hated herself for that more than anything.

Therefore, the horse has come to a stop when she held the bow with her left hand, As some noises filled the air. To her surprise, on these lands were only wild animals living, as no man dared to venture here. Not in the northern parts of the land.

Soon, her pulse had risen to a new level, beating faster and faster, gulping hard the nod at her throat. Then, Elmina pulled out an arrow and settled it between her fingers, her eyes gazing continuously at the surroundings trying to find the source of the sounds.

" Syn, we have to be very quiet right now.. Shhh. Good boy.

We have to be patient."

Her voice coming out in whispers, leaning on her horse as to speak to him. Then, she held the arrow tighter in her hand before pulling the string back. At a perfect angle, Elmina aimed in the distance, only her breathing forming small clouds around her, along with her horse's .

The noise filled the air once again, some rustling to, holding back for another moment, Elmina finally released the arrow. It flew quite fast going towards its target.

If only she knew whom she will encounter, considering the fact that her aiming was smooth and accurate, the arrow Passed by Something and Someone...

Patience is a virtue.

The knights had fought a long and bloody fight, the only survivors, Jason, Ada and Justine. They were fighting, they were holding them off, he could remember, the flashes of white clothing, people dressed as the native wolves flowing out of the tree-line like savages.

~

They had fought long and hard, yet, over time Jason only saw his own number of soldiers decreasing as the mercenaries' numbers excelled onward. He'd slaughtered countless of the animal skinned bastards, doing his duty to protect Zachary who fought just as bravely beside him. And in that moment, as Zachary called the retreat, a hatchet sailed through the air and sank into its target. Falling with a heavy groan, the general attempted to crawl to safety, futile effort.

~

He could feel it now, remember every detail.

~

"General!" His voice had carried to the now fallen friend. Scooping him in his arms as he attempted to drag him along.

"No use... boy..." He coughed, crimson blood seeping from his lip. "I'm no good like this..." Another cough, "Go... Run..."

"I will NOT leave you!" He huffed, growing progressively tired from dragging the heavier man.

"Do it... now!" He pushed Jason off, he himself falling to the ground, drawing his dagger to face the mercenaries. Jason watched in bewilderment as Zachary pierced his own heart with a blade far beyond steel, "You are my living legacy! Go!" And with a sharp tightening of his eyes, Jason ran with the gypsies as far as they could from the White Fangs.

They had gone for hours upon hours of running through forests, across small, freezing rivers and soon, ended up starving next to a forest path. With tired legs and an exhausted amount of stamina, Jason fell to his knees, he could still hear the horrifying screams of the blades piercing his dying friend. And he could do nothing...

He turned to look at Ada and Justine, "It'll... It'll be okay... we just need to make it to-" And a blazing amount of pain flared in his shoulder, an arrow piercing right next to the shoulder and more-so into the collarbone. With a gasp of pain he fell to his knees, his right arm going for his blade, for it was the left side of his collar that was numbed and bleeding.

Elmina sighed deeply hearing clearly the arrow's wind-like- whoosh-noise stopping. Then silence once again. Her breathing has become more intense, heavier when her hand gripped the reins and commanded Syn to move quicker forward.

" Let's go this way! I am sure I hit something.. But I have a bad feeling about it, Syn." Her voice whispering almost, while her horse ran faster and faster toward where the men settled. Especially the man who had fallen to his knees struck by her arrow.

After a short while, Elmina had Come to a stop when her eyes widen. Her irises dilated more, her heart pulsing harder inside her chest. The arrow.

Shit.

The arrow had hit a man, as he was on his knees, Elmina looked at the other people surrounding him. By their clothing, they seems like Knights. From other lands.

But what are they doing here?

Elmina held tighter the bow, with a quick movement, another arrow was taken from its shelf and used her fingers to pull the string from the bow. Her eyes starting at the Already hit man with her previous arrow.

" Why are you here? "

Her voice calm, that's what she wanted to appear at least. Inside, She was terrified actually as she never had to encounter men with swords before. However, Elmina had the advantage of a bow, still she did not want to do any harm to them.

Then, guild took over her for a while seeing the injured man caused by her miscalculations. Elmina, held still the arrow and the string all together before speaking again.

" I.. Apologise for the inconvience that I've cause you earlier. It was not my intention hurting you.

I'll ask again, why are you here in the northern parts of our Land?"

Elmina addressed to the man, while her horse stood still in the snow, just at a few feet away one from another. Probably, they could tell that she was not a commoner judging by her clothing. Not that mattered anyways.

Patiently waiting..

@TheeeIrish

With gritted teeth, and the realization that it was a woman who had shot him, accidently, he muttered out through his teeth, "Captain... Jason... of Lord Cassius... III..." He coughed, his hand that was going to his sword instead rose to his shoulder where he pushed the arrow through, screaming as the burning sensation quickly rose. With an aggravated grunt he attempted to stand, and about halfway through, his eyes slammed shut, leaving him to fall back onto the snow unconscious, the fur cloak still hiding his face.

Ada, sylus, and Justine fought a long side the men the numbers were dwindling. She looked around and saw Justine fall. Ada screamed "Justine no." She said. She ran to her dodging the flying arrows one grazed her arm, but she couldn't care about that now. Justine was gasping ada looked at her. She sniffed,"Justine, I am so sorry," she said. Ada stabbed her in the heart. She kissed her forehead and closed the girls eye's.

Ada ran with Jason and Sylus he was her only mam left. They were a far enough distance When a arrow hit him. Ada groaned through the pain and lifted her bow glaring at the girl. She held it pointed at her, she stepped in front of Jason." They are Lord Cassius III men, we are from his kingdom we came to get something back there here for another reason." She said

DeathToAllBetrayers

Elmina did not had time to think this trough, as his words sunk deep in her mind. Lord Jason..

However, her hands released the bow allowing herself to get of the horse and practically run towards the Man. She did not care from what Kingdom was he or his men. He was a Man. A man that she hit with her arrow, and needed to be taken care of.

Her hands reached down to caress his face, kneeling in the snow besides him and tried to turn him with all her power.

Moreover, Elmina ignored the girl for the time being before speaking again.

" Help me here! He needs help and now. The castle is that way, we should get him on a horse. Please hurry.!"

Elmina instructed the men, not caring if they thought she was who she was or not, Lord Jason needed her. It was her fault.

" I am the daughter of Vestan III, Lady Elmina... Not that is important.

Don't want my father to know about all of this."

Small tears formed at her eyes, looking at him as with trembling fingers caressed his cheek. Until his men helped her to carry him towards the castle.

As whatever the reason they were here, Elmina knew that her father will enlighten her mind soon enough.

Amanda woke a bit later in the bed. She turned over and yawned. She looked for Giedon and saw him sitting by the door well his arm poked out. She slowly got up and walked to the door. She leaned on the frame,"you look tired, you know you could of slept on the bed. i wouldn't have said no. It is your bed. " she said. She looked down at him she was still tired, but it looked like he needed more sleep.

Ada glared at the girl and went to help Jason up. She grimaced and sylus helped her."Lead the way. She said. She was very untrusting of this new girl. She would watch her like a hawk. Ada shrugged off the pain in her side and arm where she got hit.

He looked at her, smiled, then stood and walked over to his bed. He slumped into bed and fell asleep immediately. His hand still gripping his sword as he slept. Gideon mumbled, "Come to bed honey, Emma's asleep.... We need to enjoy it while we can." His hand gestured for Amanda. He spoke loud enough though for Amanda to hear. Gideon was half-asleep at the time, not really realizing what he had said.

Amanda smiled back at him. She watched him walk over and get in bed. She heard him speak, what had he said. Who was Emma? She walked over and slipped into bed. She moved to curl into Giedons side. She sighed and hid her head into him. She actually didn't mind what he said. She started to fall back asleep again.

Gideon hugged Amanda close to him, letting his sword drop onto the ground. He simply sighed, cuddling with Amanda as they slept. After about an hour though he began to stir uneasily. He mumbled a bit here and there, having nightmares about his past. Gideon spoke softly and quietly despite the intensity of his nightmare. He dreamt of all the people he had killed, all the raids he had led and been with, all the death he had caused through out the kingdoms within his life. What got to his most were the memories of the screams of two people he would never be able to forget. In his sleep he had grabbed onto his sword, and upon reaching the point of hearing the two people his eyes snapped open. Gideon readied his sword, his whole body shaking and sweating. He was panting heavily and scanning the room with a paranoia that was truly horrid. He let out a final shaky sigh, sweat running down his face as he slowly lowered his sword. He simply remained sitting up, breathing heavily and trying to calm down. He felt a tiny bit of comfort in knowing Amanda was next to him. For the first time he didn't feel too alone. The pain of his nightmares still hurt nonetheless.

Amanda had curled up and closed her eye's. She was partially asleep when she heard him mumble she groaned and just buried into him. She had Night terrors often and they often got of control she had killed two men because of it. She hated that so she was glad she was sleeping next an assassin he could stop her before her unconscious did anything stupid. She felt his body shake and him move to sitting up. She finally looked up, she was still tired, Amanda moved her hand to his cheek, she gently wiped the sweat away. She didn't say anything just ran her hand along him. She looked at him, and got comfy in his lap. Amanda started to fall back asleep on his lap.

He held Amanda close to him as he fell back asleep with her, exhausted now. Gideon dreamed pleasantly this time. If asked what he dreamt about he wouldn't tell anyone except Amanda. She had proven she was worth opening up to so Gideon was more than willing. His dreams were quite vivid, since he was cuddling closely to Amanda. Both their bodies were pressed together in a warm embrace, so that made his dreams feel even realer since had someone to feel for once in a very very long time. But as always the darker side of things came to mind. Occasional nightmares about Gideon killing for the king or Christopher popped up. The war was there as well, taunting him constantly with the worry of what might soon come.

Christopher yawned, taking hold of the reins to his steed. Carefully but quickly moubting his horse, Christopher was forced to await the accompaniment of two guards. He hated being watched. As if his father couldn't trust him enough to go out on his own. With a reluctant order, "Let's go.", Christopher gave a small, careful kick to his horses torso, causing the horse to start off at an immediate trot, up until her smacked the reins, pulling the horse into a gallop.

With the guards tailing at almost the same speed behind him, Christopher led himself as well as them towards the front gates, of which had already been lifted due to his siblings earlier return, which brought a thought to his mind as he rode through the gates. 'Where was she? Where was Gideon? Where was that gypsy girl?' Slapping the reins, Christopher brought the horse to go faster, just as an announcement rang out from behind him. 'MY LORD! THERE HAS BEEN AN ISSUE REPORTED NOT FAR FROM HERE! DO YOU WISH TO CHECK?' Christopher slowed his horse only slightly, turning his horse to circle around the two trailing him, galloping his horse beside them. "Lead the way."

Eleanor was hiding in the untrimmed hedges for quite a while, pondering the approach she would make in attempting to assasinate Prince Christopher Vestan. She and her clan, the Nightsisters had been offered a great deal of money from someone claiming to represent Lord Giradan the First to execute this assasination. She had been observing Vestan's Castle for quite a while, taking every oppurtunity she could to memorize their daily patterns. This was only her fourth day watching the palace but had already learned of a daily visit from a mysterious hooded figure who speaks with the daughter of King Vestan and leaves shortly after.

She didn't worry too much about this man, he seemed trivial to her. He was not involved in the assasination, therefore he was unimportant to her at this time. Eleanor was wating for the perfect oppurtunity to strike. She had been back and forth from the castle and her rendezvous point with the Nightmother, telling her every deatil of her visit. She had seen a few possibilites, but they were all too risky. But, no opportunity was as fine as this. The prince was leaving the castle to check out some sort of threat. While the prince was out, she might have a moment to sneak into the bedroom of Prince Christopher and assasinate him while he slept.

As Eleanor watched the band of calvalry, including Prince Christopher, leave to see the source of this alarm, she was coutning all the guards around her. Seven. Seven guards she must distract in order for her to work her way into the fortress. Looking up at the structure, she noticed an open window directly above her. Almost instinctivly, Eleanor pulled a poisonous dart from her boot and shot the guard farthest away from her.

As the poisoned guard fell to the ground, the other six watchmen ran towards him to inspect the source of the problem. Once they were all surrounding the dying man, she hastily started making her way up the castle tower. She grappled onto vines and rocks that protruded from the surface of the castle and started climbing up the tower. Once inside, she saw a tall mahogany wardrobe towards the left of the window. She proceeded to hide inside the wardrobe and peered out through a small flap inside of it. She noticed a few people around the hallways near her, it was miraculous they hadn't seen her. She crouched down into bottom of the wardrobe and started to think of her next plan of action.

Amanda clung to him in her sleep. Her dreams weren't as pleasant as his. She dreamed Vance coming for her. She curled up and shook in her sleep, her night terrors were always bad. Amanda woke with a scream "Vance No." and pushed herself away from Gideon as she looked around. She put her hair behind her ear and tried to breath normally. She was looking around the room there was no way Vance was here, but why in the hell had he come to her dream. She looked down at her marked arm and sniffed as she held her hands in her blonde locks.

Gideon woke up slowly and sat up, "Hey... Are you OK?" He asked Amanda sleepily. "Were you having a nightmare?" He put his arm around Amanda. He showed actual emotion and care for her, putting aside his own nightmares for her. "Was it about your family? Tell me..." He yawned. Gideon scooted closer and smiled sleepily at her, holding her.

@Gilmoregirl12

Christopher halted his onterage. He heard yelling yards behind himself, which caused him to turn around. Immediately, he turned his horse back to the castle, worry of his fathers safety filling his conscious. "ALERT SECURITY!" Were his first words upon reaching home. "CLOSE THE GATES!" Hopping off his horse, Christopher stormed inside the castle, pointing his finger every which way to order about anyone who was around. "GIDEON ISNT HERE, STEP UP TO THE PLATE!"

'Yes sir! Right away my lord!'

Was all that was heard throughout the halls as Christopher stormed through the corridors with two or three guards tailing protectively behind him. "GUARD MY FATHER! LET NOBODY IN OR OUT OF THIS CASTLE!" Christopher would not rest until he found the culprit of all the commotion. He had demanded the safety of his loved ones above all else. 'AS YOU WISH MY LORD!'

"Damnit! Where is my sister?!" Christopher completely disregarded Gideon's words from earlier. This situation was literally do or die. Gideon was irrelevant to Christopher as of now, leaving the castle unguarded to run around with a gypsy girl. Shameful in Christopher's eyes. Somebody was here to kill one of his loved ones, and Christopher wouldn't have it.
