I figured I'd leave it a bit open-ended to lead into however we wanna go with the clan discovering them.

What are you guys thinking? It could go either way. I'm thinking the clan was probably alerted by the crash, and went out to see if it was the princess or not, but then they approached our noble heroes' camp and found another vampire guarding and were Very Alarmed. The Dragon is hanging out in the area because both their captain and their commander are MIA--this honestly isn't unusual at this point, so they're not too worried--and the Griffin is definitely trying to pinpoint the location of the crash before they go princess-hunting. So the vampires are a bit nervous about what's going on. So they could either attack out of worry that this was some Eldergaardian attack, or if Gigi wanted to shoulder her way through the ranks and announce herself they might stand down--unless they think she's a prisoner, lol.

So I guess the question is: do you want a fight xD

freddy is gonna have so much fun flirting with both of them and seeing if he can get leo more flustered for flirting with cyn or alyx more flustered for flirting with leo (prol Alyx cuz she's already gonna be annoyed at him for flirting with her and astrid so)

esp as i have been thinking he and the professor might be related and they might not be as... Allarian as presumed

but i do also kinda like having him 'dead' because gigi is floundering and way less confident than she would be otherwise and the longer this continues the more likely she is to accidentally show it

(she did not curl up with the others and the blanket. she laid down somewhere and cried silently in the dark for three minutes, then reminded herself she had only allotted for two minutes and she needed to buck up and get some sleep)

OH NO plz don't tell me Fredrick is a flirt because he and Maksim will be UNSTOPPABLE. Maksim will flirt with anything with legs (or not legs, honestly he is not picky) and BONUS POINTS if it irritates Alyx. He is def going to grin at Leo like, "This one's old enough to flirt with" once he realizes Alyx has adopted him and Alyx will want to turn Maksim inside out.

Though Maksim might also be like, "um excuse me, only *I* am allowed to screw with Alyx get your own austere nerd"

Oh man this is all good stuff. Leo will be SO GRUMPY if anyone flirts with Cyn but he’s not allowed to SHOW it because technically he’s not SUPPOSED to be grumpy.

(As long as nobody flirts with Rose. He is absolutely terrible at dealing with it. Not because he gets flustered but because he will just calmly be like ‘I don’t mind sleeping with you as long as you provide me with suitable information in exchange’ and Cyn is like you CANNOT do that.)

Hmmmm I think a fight could be fun!

Maksim would be like “wait wut” and Alyx would be like “nope, nuh-uh we’re not doing that everybody please keep your pants on”.

Ghggh Rose grew up in a very not-normal environment as a teenager so he does NOT have the same social boundaries that people normally have lol.

He figures it’s fine as long as he says specifically that he’s doing it as a job. Poor Carmine (his ex girlfriend) had to basically teach him how to act like a normal person when it came to interpersonal relationships but some things he just does not get.

Yesss fights are good. Leo is looking forward to USING his sword because he doesn’t get a chance to show off with one very often. But as a stubborn teenager preparing for his fate of joining the military Camellia was like ‘hey if you do your lessons I’ll show you how to swordfight’ and 13 year old Leo was just like HELL YES. It’s impractical when fighting Allarian soliders because they have guns but it just looks SO COOL.

Gaaaaah poor Rose. Maksim definitely would have pulled Alyx aside and been like, “Is this guy ok?” Because he’s a jerk but it’s only fun if the other person understands the boundaries he’s stepping on!

yeeesssss swords! Alyx uses a short sword, too, but Maksim took it on the Griffin. She’s gonna just have to fight with her magic for the time being—which she’s fine with. Astrid has pistols, but seeing as the non-silver bullets won’t hurt vampires as much as she would like, she’ll use the knife Rose lent her.

Rose is perfectly fine! Is what he would say. Everybody in that family would benefit GREATLY from a lot of therapy but who cares about that when there’s vampires to fight.

I am looking forward to them meeting Maksim again but mostly I am looking forward to Cyn being completely horrified if they have to team up and he’s like ‘I’m uh very sorry about the thing with your face mr Grivvin’ because how do you come back from that kind of first impression.

Why go to therapy when you can deal with your issues by killing things?

Honestly Maksim would be super wary of Cyn at first (he's gonna have that scar on his face for weeks), but then when he sees what kind of person Cyn is, he'll be like "don't you even worry. Alyx has done worse and I still wanna sleep with her so"

Off screen Alyx yells, "No he doesn't! STOP TELLING PEOPLE THAT."

And Astrid is going to be so confused because up until this point Maksim has appeared to be a malicious rule-abiding commander and she's thinking 'Alyx hates him because he's evil' but now she's realizing that he puts the same serious mask on that Alyx does and it's really 'Alyx hates him because he used to pin her down and drool on her when they were kids'.

That and they got into a big argument five years ago over the Right Way to deal with what the military was forcing them to do and they both said some things they regret.

Oh, and for the Maksim/Fredrick show-up timeline, I was thinking we'd have our group get in with the clan and start negotiations, and then have the Griffin find the crash and be searching for it. But Maksim knows where they would have gone, so he and Fredrick sneak off because he has to know if Alyx is in on this and if so there will be WORDS and he doesn't necessarily want to show his hand--or, Fredrick--but if Gigi would listen to anyone, it would be Fredrick (and Fredrick can be for or against the alliance, Maksim is just as behind the times as Alyx). Plus, if he turns up with a not-zombie Fredrick Alyx would have won the argument, but he's tired of being angry over it anyway.

Also I'm so excited for Crane to show back up and be the Very Tired Dad of a bunch of disaster 20-somethings

Ugh don’t say that Maksim because Cyn is going to get IDEAS. He’d be like ‘oh my god I’m so sorry I didn’t realize that you had to fight your boyfriend for us’ because he jumps to conclusions so easily. He’d be like ‘oh my god they’re star crossed lovers who are in different units with different ideologies’ and Leo would be trying SO HARD not to laugh.

Cyn is just a huge romantic at heart and his imagination runs away with him sometimes.

OH NO, Maksim will be SO THRILLED because NOTHING irritates Alyx more than people thinking they're in love.

Maksim would be all, "Oh, no, she's not my girlfriend. She's my fiancée."

And Alyx will just be like, "THAT'S A RUMOR STARTED BY MY AUNT BECAUSE HIS FAMILY SUCKS STOP IT"

Cyn Of course would think she’s embarrassed or doesn’t trust him so he would be like ‘it’s ok I support you *thumbs up*’ and Leo loves his commander very much but he also thinks this is HILARIOUS.

Cyn is admittedly struggling a lot with his own romantic identity. He likes to see other people be happy and in love! It makes him feel better about his own struggles. Though sometimes he projects romance novel logic on real life too much lol.

I can just imagine Leo giving Alyx the biggest grin and being like, "Can I be the flower girl" and Maksim going, "yes" and Alyx looking like she's going to drop-kick the pair of them into the sun. And Cyn is so sweet and supportive but she facepalms because this has spiraled out of control.

And Astrid is so confused but she had better be asked to be the maid of honor in this.

Aw, poor Cyn! He deserves only love and happiness.

Leo would DEFINITELY ask to be the flower girl.

Cyn is a very good boy. He is just going through personal stuff and is honestly a little overwhelmed right now, though he is hiding it pretty well. When this is all over he just wants to cuddle on his couch with his cat and a cup of hot tea for like three hours lol.

AW. He needs to be protected at ALL COSTS. I mean, he named his cat "Pepperoni" like how cute is that?

Maksim might be like, "aw I can't flirt with him he's like the grown-up version of Cyril"
