Hey jaydude jaydude , I'm not a U.S. citizen either, and i voted... (in the israeli municipal elections, but i voted...)
I think the UK is on a different cycle than us heathens in the colonies (and apparently Israel) =P

I haven't followed it much lately, so I could just be succeeding at ignoring most news.

The last election I was involved in was for my local council, several months ago, and I voted in that. As well as the Brexit vote.

I am rather looking forward to meeting this particular Deathlord again and seeing how things differ between First Age Horse-Archer Aredin vs Second Age Merchant Lord Aredin. Gonna be a lot more difficult with as few bargaining chips as we have at hand right this moment, but beats a total party kill from tempting the quantum landmine that is a Deathlord.

In a side note, I heard from a friend that Marvel Comics giant Stan Lee passed away this morning. She said it had to do with him having pneumonia.

Finally got around to marking what I spent that last bit of XP on. Had it planned for a few weeks, just keep getting sidetracked.

Edit: Also wrote down notes of a strategy to weaken the Realm by crippling their ability to pay the Legions with bureaucratic red tape and motivated selling of a semi-plausible conspiracy theory. Requires some skillful counter-espionage to work. Should be fun.

Random side thought I had forgotten about... Still need to look into converting those spies into double agents when we get back... I'll need them if we're to start paralyzing Realm bureaucracy and making nice with our closer neighbors in Lookshy.

Man consolidating all these loose threads after Rathess is gonna be a trick and a half if we live long enough to address them =P

Aredin wouldn't know this, but would Viktor or Heaven be able to figure out if some sort of ward or salt line would mitigate underworld/range magic?

Dunno if either of em has a background in thaumaturgy, but might be worth an occult roll.

Or you know, we could just mercy kill, but that'd be a shame.

Rykon Rykon Viktor has a background in thaumaturgy, and even a thaumaturgical procedure that allows him to spill a drop of blood at a shadowland's edge and then treat it as a passage into (or out of) the Underworld. So I think he would at least have theoretical knowledge of it, if not much practical experience in doing so. BTW, mentioning that reminded me, I have plans for an eventual weapon that will meld a weapon (probably mostly wooden) with salt to create a tool that consistently provides aggravated damage against denizens of the Underworld.

Sherwood Sherwood I forgot to add a stunt bonus to my "rebuke" roll on the post from a couple hours ago, can I roll one now and add successes (if any) to the total success count?

Go ahead and add the stunt dice. I only glanced over the IC post, but what I skimmed through was good stuff.

You can jump in and assist if you'd like, assuming you have any Charms or Abilities that can aid Viktor. I'll even award you guys some bonus dice based on the teamwork.

Kalin Scarlet Kalin Scarlet Your Saphire CM could still be extremely useful, depending on what is affecting the Abyssal. Deathlords have access to all three levels of necromancy (Shadowland, Labyrinth, and Void) as well as the first two levels of sorcery (Terrestrial and Celestial). With counter magic, each level of a select magic acts as one level lower when countering the wrong type of magic.

So for example:

Celestial (Saphire) CM can counter spells of the Terrestrial (Emerald) and Celestial levels, but has no effect on spells of the Solar (Adamant) circle. When countering Necromancy however, it acts like it is CM from the first circle instead of the second circle. So Celestial CM can counter necromantic spells of the Shadowland (Iron) circle but has no effect on necromantic spells of the Labyrinth (Onyx) or Void (Obsidian) circles.

Thus, there are three possible circles the mystery spell might be cast from that Saphire CM would be of great help against (Emerald, Saphire, or Iron) and two that it would not (Onyx and Obsidian). Since Deathlords can't cast from the highest circle of sorcery, the inability for Saphire to counter Adamant doesn't come into play here. So if Viktor is able to ascertain what is hurting Voice, you can reason Heaven has roughly a 66% chance of being able to counter it based on the circles available (assuming it is sorcerous and not a charm).

That was such a freaking cool outcome!! When Viktor was at the razor's edge and then I looked down to the next post and read about Darian jumping in and flooding us with her priestly essence, I was so excited! The temporary victory we wrestled (or did they allow us to win??) was done so out of the ordinary, and I can't properly put to words just how much I enjoyed it playing out so unpredictably. And it leaves still more fun questions to play with as we move forward! This has been (and continues to be) one of the best Exalted games I've ever been a part of; big thanks to Sherwood for such a convincingly immersive story and to all of y'all for the consistently engaging RP and boatloads of unapologetic demigod fun! :)

Thank you for the very kind words! I have tried to instill elements in the game that I would like to see as a player, making this campaign to be more than just a DnD style kill-fest. I will endeavor to continue to provide you with the best gaming experience that I can!

Allow me to add a hearty "Me, too!" to MasterDAF's words. I am loving the progression of the game so far, and I'm having fun with Darian. Keep up the great work!
