Through the Portal

TrippyTrance.gif

Unbeknownst to humanity, there is another world, on a separate plain from the one they live on. This world holds more magic than Earth. On occasion, when there is great need for it, a portal will open between worlds. This portal will only appear to those with magic inside them. Once they go through, due to the higher amounts of magic infused into the other world, these individuals often discover they have a gift, a gift that could only reach full potential on the other side of the portal.

The world through the portal is threatened once again, for the first time in centuries. It is time for those with the magic within to save it, or the rising darkness will cover both worlds for an eternity.

Azalea was walking home after dark when she saw it. It seemed to appear out of nowhere-- A giant, spiraling mass, large enough to walk through. It was difficult to tell whether it was a liquid or a gas. Something pulled her towards it, and she walked forward almost in a trance. It was like some small being was whispering in her mind, urging her to touch it, to walk through it. Should she, though? A few inches away, Azalea stopped. Maybe it would be unwise to mess with this thing. She didn't even know what it was. Then again, what harm could it do, really? Slowly, she stepped forward and felt a cool, intriguing sensation, like she was spinning faster and faster under water. She closed her eyes. When she opened them, she wasn't in the city anymore. Curiously, Azalea took in her new surroundings, confused but fascinated all at once. The portal disappeared behind her.

Bliss lay on her bed on her stomach, listening to music and reading a book. She slowly sat up, frowning as her lights flickered on and off, as if a large power surge had come through the neighborhood. Bliss was home alone and it was almost midnight so she couldn't ask anybody about it. The young girl then yelped and fell onto her back, still on her bed as a bright flash of light blinded her momentarily. Shakily, Bliss sat up again and saw a gigantic, swirling circle by her door. Just by seeing it, she wanted to to discover it, see what it really was. I really shouldn't...she thought but the feeling in her gut said otherwise. Bliss gently reaches forward and barely touched the portal and was instant sucked through, tumbling into oblivion.

Azalea stepped forward cautiously. The portal that had brought her here was gone, so there really wasn't anywhere to go but forwards. She placed one hand on the trunk of a tree, tracing the bark. It was smoother than she expected it to be. The hair on the back of her neck prickled, and she whirled around, scared she was being watched.

Bliss had tumbled out of thin air and behind Azalea, gasping and groaning a bit from the fall. She got onto her hands and knees, coughing. That hurt... Where am I? The young girl thought to herself, slowly standing and wiping her hands on her jeans. She then looked up and stumbled back, seeing another girl standing there.

Azalea blinked as she watched another person appear in front of her. Putting two and two together, she guessed this girl had also fallen through some kind of portal. Unfortunately, it looked like she'd fallen through it, rather than stepping into it. Apparently that made a difference in the landing. She eyed the girl warily for a second, debating the best course of action. It wasn't in her nature to introduce herself or get chummy with a stranger, but as far as she knew, this girl would be the only human she'd come across for awhile. Perhaps it would be best to at least not make an enemy. "Did you touch it too?" It was the first thing that occurred to her. It didn't give away any personal information or ask for it, just confirmed they were in the same situation. It seemed a safe enough thing to say.

Bliss glanced behind her, looking for the portal that wasn't there. Her round face clearly gave away the fact that she was lost and scared. The girl nodded and said, "The big portal type thing...?" She made small swirling gestures with her hands, imitating what the portal looked like and did. I want to go home. I don't wanna be here...

"That's the one." Azalea nodded, crossing her arms. Over the years she'd spent distancing herself from everyone, she'd been able to watch people instead-- which lead to a reasonable ability to read people. But anyone could have deduced that this girl was no threat to her. "My name's Azalea. What's yours? I'm just as lost as you are, so we should stick together." She started to play with one of her braids, more in an attempt to keep her arms uncrossed and not scare the other girl even more than she already was. She was used to making herself look as tough and stony as possible, to make up for what she was lacking in size or strength. It was hard for her to mask that, especially when interacting with a stranger.

Kenshi was walking through a forest outside of his home city, the forest is called the Little Garden. He guessed it was some ironic joke since it was a large forest. He heard rumors of strange happenings in these parts, he came to check it out since it's near his father's resting place. He sensed something weird going on a little west of his location. He leapt to the tree branches and he jumped from branch to branch through the forest until he reached the edge of a clearing. When he arrived he saw a portal spit out one person and disappear, then another portal spit another person out. He decided to watch them to confirm their situation and intentions.

She coughed again and slowly stood, leaning against a tree. The girl stood there for awhile, taking in the scenery and trying to calm herself down and relax. "My name is Bliss." She said gently, nodding and rubbing her forehead. A small bruise was forming from when she hit the ground, tumbling out of the portal. Bliss seemed like a very gentle girl who did not belong to an adventure like going through a portal, but as fate would have it, here she was and she was here to stay. "What... Where are we? What is this place?" Bliss asked gently, looking around once again. She felt the smooth bark of the tree she was leaning on and she bit her lip gently, taking it all in.

Shin fell out of the portal into the middle of what looked like a forest. "Hmm don't tell me that thing just shot me out into a forest man this...." Shin reliazed he felt different he looked at his hands then a tree and punched it his hand spilt the tree in half no problem. He smiled and broke a boulder into pieces. "Oh man this is awsome I feel great like a new man!" Shin began jumping up and down in excitement and pumping his fist in the air. "BEST DAY EVER!!"

Kenshi concluded the two in front of him were no problem and he could always double back around to find them. But the newest arrival seemed to be striking at things in the forest, could potentially be a problem. Kenshi speed teleported to a tree near Shin and watched him from above. "Another one it seems." Ken concluded from the strange presence and distortionnhe sensed around the other two. Ken decided he should talk to this one. Ken then jumped from his tree and landed on the ground with a light sound. Ken then said aloud "Well now, you shouldn't wreck the forests so carelessly. You never know when you may wander into the Elven protected portion where they have legal right to kill people for that."

@Nenma Takashi

Shin turned to the sound of someone speaking. He looked at him perplexed. "Elven what?" But from what he guessed this forest was important to this guy and maybe others. "Sorry was just a little excited from the trip and..." He stopped the word kill stuck to him. "Kill meaning he people can kill you no problem and Elven not a word I know this place is nice I like it here." He pointed his fist at the guy. "Hey you spar with me real quick I'll leave the forest alone win or lose okay?"

@Newtype

"It was more of a warning about what certain over protective elves would do. But if it's a spar you want then you shall get it." Kenshi replied. He then started emitting an aura of chi which was white in color. He took his stance and set his supernatural conditioning to it's standard level. He didn't think his opponent would be ready for anything higher. "To answer your question, yes if Elves find you destroying their territory they can legally kill the perpetrator."

(GTG for a while, don't go pass your first fighting post while I'm gone)

@Nenma Takashi

Shin took a deep breath and got into his normal boxing stance a peek a boo style. He narrowed his eyes looking ag the aura that came from the guy but he just smiled. "This is gonna be fun!"

Leoch wandered through the woods, his eyes flickering at the slightest movement in his surroundings. Running a hand through his dark brown hair, he glanced up at the trees that towered above him. Hunters were known for planting hanging traps from foliage, and the elf didn't want to fall victim to a device that was meant for a beast. Breathing in, he relaxed his spirit, allowing himself to slow his breathing and become more in tune with the forest.

Suddenly, a loud crash interrupted him from his meditative state. Instinctively dropping into a defensive stance, Leoch quickly dashed towards the source of the noise. He wove between trunks and bushes, the sound of his footsteps virtually nonexistent. He came across a small clearing far sooner than he had expected; the sound had came from further away. However, he could not allow himself to become lax. Leoch immediately tensed, causing himself to become invisible as he surveyed the area from behind a fallen tree. Two young women were conversing. Their clothes looked quite odd, and from what Leoch could tell, they were both pure-blooded human—a rarity in that area. Neither seemed to be a threat, but the elf silently drew his blade, a long, curved sword, as a precaution. After all, why would humans be so close to Elven territory?

Bliss instantly froze, hearing metal on metal, somebody unsheathing a weapon of some sort. She slowly turned around and stumbled back from a tall, brown haired male. One pointed ear protruded from his hair and the short girl rubbed her eyes, hoping that it was just an illusion. To her dismay, the boy's ear stayed pointed. "Is he... An elf?" Bliss asked, gasping a bit before shaking her head. Intricate makeup and an excellently planned prank. Is what she thought to herself, but there weren't any cameras and this guy did not seem forgiving whatsoever, wielding those horrifying weapons. "D-don't... Please-..." Bliss tried to say but her voice failed her. She glanced at Azalea for help but the other girl offered none.

Azalea stepped closer to Bliss, watching the new arrivals intently. She raised one hand in front of her, almost unaware of what she was doing, and a bright blue flame flickered to life on her fingertips. "Aww, sweet." Her voice was a whisper as she stared, fascinated, at her hand. Flexing her fingers, she realized she could control the fire, a bit like discovering a new muscle. Then she snapped out of it, realizing she should probably not zone out while there were potentially dangerous people around her. "Stay close to me." She told Bliss. Judging by the look on the other girl's face, she was not taking this unexpected turn of events well. Azalea, on the other hand, found it interesting and exciting. Anything was better than home.

"Good I like my odds." Shin moved forward faster then he expected he was surprised by his own speed he threw a right hook for the guys side.

Bliss gladly stepped behind Azalea but flinched at the sight of the bright blue flames dancing on her fingertips. Yup, she's going to accidently kill me. She thought, stumbling back from the other girl and still somehow still away from the male elf. Bliss took a deep breath and then yelped, feeling tendrils made from thick tree roots wrapping around her ankles, almost stabling her. She gasped softly and knelt down, softly touching the roots and they slowly recoiled back down into the ground. It was as if Bliss made the roots grow around her, as if they knew that she needed help standing.

Kenshi took the blow, his Supernaturally Dense tissue and Durability allowed him to tank the punch with ease. Kenshi knew he had to apply a little more chi to his Supernatural Speed. Kenshi's aura fluctuated and in an instant Kenshi empowered his speed to the next level range which is in the 20's. He started off with a mach 20. Kenshi now countered attacked, he dropped back a few paces at mach 20 then circled around increasing his speed to mach 21. He then came at Shin from behind aiming for all his pressure points on his back to paralyze him.

@Nenma Takashi

Azalea turned her head to look over her shoulder at Bliss. "Did you do that?" She tilted her head, narrowing her eyes slightly. Without waiting for the answer, she turned her head around to keep an eye on the fight that was starting to heat up. She still expected to be answered, but she didn't want to be taken down from behind if the boys noticed her and decided to attack. It was difficult to focus on that right now, however. Her head was spinning with the knowledge of her new found power. She raised her hand up in front of her face again, admiring the flames in the way she used to when she was little, playing with lighters or matches.

Even though Shin was fast he could see this guy was faster when Shin attacked he probably went mach 19 this guy was even faster then that he had to keep up. "I have to go faster!" Shin remembered something his sister always said. "Your limit is something you set no one else!" "If I sent my own limit!" He dodged the attack going the same speed as his opponent. "Then I can't lose!" He countered with a jab at the guy's face this one stronger.

Randeruck doesn't remebe how he got here. One moment he is asleep. The next he is hanging from a tree branch by his stomach. As he gains his bearings he hears fighting below him. "What the hell." He thinks to himself. Gaining balance on the branch he is on he looks. Closer and see a guy and he's....... shooting flames from his fingers! Excited he starts to jump down when he realises that there is a battle between people below him. "Well" he mutters to himself. "If there is gonna be a fight I might as well make a grand entrance." Randeruck leaps off the branch heading straight in between them. As they become closer he lands on the ground gracefully and with one arm raise. A mist begins to for around his hand that slowly forms a pole. as the pole forms a blade shoots out the side of it making it a loud sheathing noise with a flash of light creating a scythe he just recently learned he could make. "ALRIGHT!" he shouts. "WHAT ARE YOUR NAMES AND GIVE ME A GOOD REASON I SHOULD'NT KILL ALL OF YOU!"
