"Oh," he flips his hands in a pshaw motion. "Everyone thinks they look worse than they are. Well... most do. For example, I think I look terri...- Okay, bad example."

Emmy laughed. "You don't look that bad. Sure, you kinda look pale and sickly, you're not well-groomed, but that's just your style." She said with a smile.

"I... don't know whether or not to be insulted or thankful. I'll take the latter." As he laughs, the feeling of dread grows stronger. What's going on?! Why am I so terrified?

Emmy then started laughing a loud, ridiculous but charming laugh. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it in an insulting way." She said still laughing.

"I'm sure you didn't. So knowing what little we know now, how do you feel about this place?"

Emmy shrugged. "Well the monsters here are a helluva lot more violent than the kids at school, but they can't talk, so that's good."

So they couldn't sleep without a bed, and there was more than just steak to eat, that was good news. This world operated on strange but very convenient logic well for them at least the monsters Alex could live without.
" Well at least we won't starve " She said

Apparently there were villages in this world most likely full of locals, though Alex had to wonder how different they would be from humans, though the zombies looked normal enough so they could just be humans. Still there was little Alex could do her tools were starting to wear down and she didn't really have any more sticks she would have to wait for night to pass and make sure she got some.

" Well then if we get enough space we can make a nice little home here in this cave at least " She said assuming that things would be simple once they got some farms going.
Though she heard some of what was said, the fact that Rina's head was on the other side of a stone wall made it a bit hard to hear clearly. Her body wiggled further into the hole she was digging; the momentum of her legs catching up with the rest of her gave her a boost to a higher ledge. It was a narrow squeeze in places; stone jutted out in cube-like shapes, it had quickly grown dark with her body blocking the light, and there was just barely enough room for her head to clear the new ceiling. Though that part was intentional: if she barely fit inside, there couldn't be any monsters, right? Plus it would be impossible to get lost in such a small tunnel.

"Hmm, I guess there's really not any i--" Her pick broke through the stone and hit empty air. "Whoops!" Cooler air brushed against her face. The darkness felt, well, darker. She leaned back in a hurry, stuck a cube of dirt in the opening, and shimmied herself around. Somehow she didn't get a scratch through any of this - her clothes didn't even get dirty - and soon Rina's head reappeared in the cave proper, followed by the rest of her as she tumbled out. "Hey guys, guys! There's a bigger cave back there! Want to go and see?" she bubbled in excitement. "There's probably going to be monsters, but we might be able to find metal there, for swords and buckets and armor and all kinds of useful things." Of course, she was worried about monsters, but things had gone well before, maybe it would be okay to explore even more.

Xander nodded and looked at Rina, who appeared to be still digging. He heard her pick break and watched as she shimmied out. Her clothes weren't even dirty? Of course they weren't. Why was he surprised? After everything he's been through today, he shold be used to it. He smiled and nodded at her question. "Sure, I'll go with you! If we can't sleep, we might as well keep exploring, right?" He said, taking his stone pick out and holding it.

Are you coming Alex?" He asked.

" Ah yeah" Alex said though she didn't know how much use she might be her stuff wasn't in very good condition, well her sword was.

" You two will have to mine my stuff is nearly broken if something comes at use I'll take them" She said as she started to squeeze though the hole which was very tight, thankfully because it was also fairly smooth nothing got caught on it, it would really suck to lose anymore clothes.

Hal wakes up, feeling his head. "What happened last night...?" Hal asks himself. He then sights someone who he remembers not, right in his face. "AHH!" Hal bounces back. His head hits the hot sand. "...Where am I and who the hell are you?" Hal asks the girl, obviously being protective. He looks down to sight his clothes; casual attire, at least for him.

Xander nodded. "So be it, we'll let you know what we find, if we find anything. With Rina guiding, We probably will." He said, smiling before he turned to Rina. "Alright Rin, I'm ready to go whenever you are, lead the way!" He said.

Kiala opened her eyes, and stared up at a canopy of green. She sat up, and looked around, tracing huge trees up as far as she could. She shifted her gaze to the ground, and looked around at the many ferns and flowers littering the ground. Vines hung in random places, from the mulititude of trees. Her gaze came to a stop upon a male laying not far from herself. She blinked, slightly more comfortable now that she knew she wasn't alone. She stood up, checking to be sure she had everything, specifically, her hat. She moved towards the boy, slowly, unsure if he was asleep or awake. She stopped, and turned in place, taking in the area around her. It looked as if she, or they, were in a jungle of sorts, and she thought she saw some sort of feline figure somewhere a bit off from their current spot. It disappeared before she could confirm anything, and she continued to look around.

Dax sleepily opened his eyes and sat up, yawning before looking around and feeling the ground. "...my bed isn't supposed to feel like grass.." He said, then stood up and looked at the trees, analyzing them. " What am I doing in a jungle? I;m nowhere near home..." He said to himself, looking around. His eyes then fell on the girl, who didn't seem like a threat at all. She actually seemed a bit harmless...for now. "Do you know what we're doing here? More to the point, who are you?" He asked.

@RinDaVamp

Kiala jumped slightly when the male spoke, and she turned to look at him. "I don't." She started, in answer to his first question, "I'm Kiala." She finished, smiling lightly. She watched the boy, curious. It didn't seem like he knew why they were here either. Her gaze drifted away, back out into the trees, and she said nothing more. This place was new to her, and she itched to go check it out. She stayed where she was, though, not wanting to run off alone.

@Son of Crota

He gave a small smile back. "Kiala. A pleasure to meet you. My name is Dax." He said to her. He then continued to look around. "We seemed to be in a jungle of sorts..not really near to civilization. We should explore, but it could be dangerous without any tools or anything.." He said, then punched the tree as he tried to think. "Dang, what do we do?" He asked out loud, not noticing that each time he hit the wood, it cracked a bit more.

"Okaaay!" Despite the almost eternal cheer in Rina's tone, her reply was quiet - not exactly a whisper, but much nearer to it than she had used before. Her voice carried further in the large space and she didn't want to alert everything to their presence. The torch she placed next to their entry point was sort of a give away... But she didn't want to lose track of their shelter either.

The area she discovered was large enough for all three to stand shoulder to shoulder if they wanted to. Just like the tunnel, the floor and walls were stone, with the occasional patch of dirt visible in a few spots. While there had to be a ceiling, it was hidden entirely by the darkness, so she guessed it was high up. The floor ahead raised in uneven patches for a few strides, then ran into a short wall that blocked anything on the other side. On her right, the space seemed more open, the only blockage being the solid stone that they had broken through - but again, the darkness made it hard to guess what might be there. "Let's look around," she suggested. "Any noises that aren't coming from us are probably monsters...or water...or maybe lava. So be careful, okay?" With that she started forward with a torch in one hand, ready to try and dodge if she heard anything dangerous, but mostly curious about what the cavern might hold.

Kiala moved closer to Dax, as he spoke. She smiled slightly, as he introduced himself, then frowned. She stopped a few steps away and watched as he punched a tree. Her gaze shifted from him, to said tree, and she though she saw something odd about where he was punching it. She walked up next to Dax, though she stayed out of his way for the time being. She continued to watch the tree, and as it cracked a bit more, she blinked, surprised. "Hey.. That's not supposed to happen... Is it?" She said, looking to Dax, then pointing at the tree, where it was cracking.

Well it was a cave a rather big cave, but Alex had to wonder how the ground above was supported, but this world worked on logic she didn't get and for all she knew they could hallow out a massive area with no support and it would be just fine. Well that made everything convenient when it cam eto looking for things.

" Well let's get to work" She said.

Dax blinked and looked at the cracking wood. "Um...what? What the..? Wood is t supposed to do this for a while.." He said. He kept punching until the wood broke into a small, floating piece of wood. "W-what the hell is this?!" He asked, picking it up and holding the floating cube. You could see in his eyes he was concerned. "That's not supposed to happen!" He looked to Kiala. "This isn't supposed to happen!" He said, looking back to the cube. "Alright, either we're in a holosimulator, or we're not on earth anymore...I hope it isn't the latter." He said, handing the block to Kiala. "Here. Wanna see?" He asked.

Kiala nodded, and accepted the block. She turned in in multiple directions, puzzled on how and why. After a few minutes, she handed it back to Dax. "Holosimulator?" She murmured the question, then shook it off, and moved away from Dax, towards the tree the block had come from. She waved her hand in the gap left, trying to figure out how the top of the trees was still standing. "This is kinda cool..." She mused. She then settled on attempting to break another block of the tree.

Xander crawled into the tunnel with Rina and followed her lead, nodding at her surprising warnings. "Lava? Huh, that's new." He said as he kept walking along the path, staying silent for now. "So, um...what's it like? Living in a world like this, I mean. It seems different from the life we lead, a bit more old fashioned." He asked curiously to her.

He said, then watched as she went to break another block. "Maybe we need the wood for something? Let's collect more just in case. Then maybe we can go and search for others in the morning." He said, going to another tree and starting to punch it.

"Right!" As they progressed, Rina placed a torch on the wall to her right - both to mark the way and to light anything useful that might have been hidden in the shadows. It didn't look like there were any deposits right on the surface yet, but they had tools and plenty of space to check out. "Life where you come from sounds really different to me too! But I don't know about old fashioned...everywhere is different. My village is just a little place, but there are bigger cities out in the world, with lots of people and buildings. I've seen drawings of huge castles all made of stone, and little buildings of glass where plants grow all the time, and houses built up on trees in the jungle with waterfalls all around." She giggled and added, "I've even heard of cities that float up in the sky, but how would that work?"

Though the torches placed so far made it easier to see, the walls were full of crevices and niches. Rina paused to peer into one but continued on, "At home, we build with a lot of stone and clay; the village is out on the plains and we have to travel a while if we don't want to use up the trees we pla--" A clatter echoed off the walls seconds before an arrow flew into the open. The head pinged off the floor near where they stood. It took a moment for her to find the source: a skeleton had come out of an unseen tunnel up ahead. It lifted its bow and stepped closer with another rattle of bone against bone. "Watch out!" She stepped in front of Alex and Xander, arms outstretched as if to block the creature's shots...and then they stretched a bit further, as if they were taffy that someone had decided to pull on. The next shot buried itself in Rina's foot; startled, she yelped in pain, and her arms snapped back to their normal size. "Quick, hit it before it shoots more! They don't run out!"

"Oh, I suppose you're right," Max says with a chuckle. he looks out the door and sees the congregation of monsters outside. With a sigh, Max sits back down. He shuffles around in his hand for survival sandbox game mechanics and nods, satisfied. "These things will probably go away in the morning. That's how these things tend to go. If we're patient, we'll get through this."
