This is it, the apocalypse 1x1

"What are you two prattling on about," Gabriel wondered, stepping into the living room from the other hallway, wings now tucked behind his back as he strode into the room. His overall facial expression was pleasant, but all you had to do was look at his eyes to see he was still tired - though no longer due to a lack of sleep. His mouth did twitch into a smile as his gazed to Aiden, however, and a slight blush rose to his cheeks for a reason he could not yet discern. He cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his head and turning his attention to Matthias. "I might need your help with something...nice battleaxe by the way."

"W-What? Nothing." Aiden blinked, obviously caught off guard by Gabriel. Matthias cocked a brow when Aiden's ears, not just the tips any longer, turned red. Oh that was new. He turned his attention back to Gabriel "My axe? Ah, yes, thank you. Now then, how can I help you?" Matthias seemed more than willing, any friend of Aiden's was a friend of his, and any enemy was his as well. He was such a lap dog for the other. It was a little sad how much one small male could have the one eyed man wrapped around his finger but that was simply how things worked. He wasn't sure what use he could be to the fallen angel but it was nice to be of any use in general.

"Teraschiel. I need a warlock spell to find her, but...It's been a long time. And nobody loves in the same place for that long. I was wondering if you'd happen to know any..." Gabriel crossed over to them and leaned on the back of an armchair. "Alec's setting sail for Infernum this morning. He knows it's where she is, but it might be helpful to narrow it down a bit, don't you think?"

He'd forged the plan the night before, and Alec couldn't very well refuse his offer..although the boy had no idea that his father planned to not only provide the location, but physically assist in the rescuing too.

"Warlock?" Matthias frowned, well there was...He seemed to frown more "Unfortunately, I do." He groaned, it was the same one who'd helped him with- oh god help them now. How he hated that one. What a stickler he was. Aiden watched his friend carefully, just by the way he reacted he could tell this guy wasn't any good, not morals wise just personality wise. Another rough sigh later Matthias looked back up "And I suppose you want me to take you to him?" He didn't look or sound happy, which just picked at Aiden's curiosity even more. Matthias was a laid back guy, really. Hell, Alec had threatened to shoot Aiden yesterday and Matthias hadn't moved an inch. Just stared. It took a lot to get the big guy in a fit. Well, that or- or a debt. Aiden almost wanted to snort, Earth or Limbo, Demon or human, Matthias still couldn't keep his debts under control.

Gabriel raised an eyebrow, picking up on the slightly annoyed vibe Matthias was giving off in relation to the name. "What's so unfortunate about him?" he asked, genuinely curious as to what had flustered the man so. Warlocks tended to be a litter irritable at times, he knew this firsthand. They were often snarky and devious, too clever for their own good. It was the stereotype, naturally, similar to how the Vampires were known for their paranoia and the Nephillim for their unyielding stiffness.

"You owe him." Aiden smirked, Matthias looked ready to sock the hybrid just about as hard as Gabriel had Alec, honestly "And if I did?" He hissed, Aiden chuckled off to the side "Lead the way." He mused, the sudden problems from earlier had left his mind without a trace, he'd remember them later but for now, Matthias was willing to go along with it for his friend's own benefit. If Gabriel had had any plans to do before hand, they were now thrown out the window, Matthias wasn't going to delay this visit any longer than he had to, in and out, it was simply all he wanted. Aiden headed after him, obviously ready to make things worse for him, as they headed for the streets.

"So much walking," Gabriel muttered, staring up at the sky. "I don;t know how you two stand it, being confined to the ground....then again, that's just my perspective," he added, thinking of the others. Half his family had gone insane with the loss of their wings, and the other half wasn't much better off compared to them. It was like loosing a hand - no, scratch that. It was like loosing your entire limb, shoulder to fingertips, and having to deal with the searing pain from the spot every single day. It was torture, and he suspected that was exactly what his eldest brother was going for.

"I'd prefer to be at sea rather than land." Matthias muttered, Aiden rolled his eyes "You're both weird."

Matthias had made his way towards the other end of town, a little emptier than anyone would've liked, but then again, most were housed near the center and North end of town. They were in the East. He seemed to make a most displeased grunt at the sight of a small one story house with a decent sized tower attached to it. Aiden, giving quite the opposite reaction, perked up and strained to get a closer look without leaving the other's side. Matthias stopped at the stairs to the door, he knew the others wouldn't be let in without him. He looked ready to turn around, but Aiden was quick to pick up on that and shoved his bigger friend up the stairs, it took a lot of effort from the smaller one. Though, he was quite pleased when they'd reached the door. Crossing his arms he watched as Matthias knocked on the door, the one eyed man was almost hoping there was no answer, unfortunately there was- sort of. The door opened on it's own, it was obvious there was no one on the other side as it slowly creaked open. Aiden was the first inside, followed by a strict "Don't touch anything Charlot." From Matthias, who followed after.

It didn't matter much, the hybrid was met with narrow, but curious, grey eyes that had locked themselves on him. Matthias came up behind him, though he didn't say anything "I thought Warlocks were supposed to be boys." Aiden said, examining the one in front of him, who was rather slender, taller than him but not as tall as Matthias or Gabriel, and had long black hair that had been pulled back into a single, neat pony tail. Their facial expression changed to, not offense, rather surprise. Aiden followed their line of sight, his tail had made it's way out from where he'd tucked it in. When it would fade off he didn't know "I see you brought friends this time." The half-breed jumped, their voice was deeper than expected, much, making it obvious this one was male. Matthias grunted from behind "Assistance is needed, Roy." The warlocks full name was Roylance, but Matthias had come to the point where nicknames were acceptable, Aiden was ready to take full advantage of that privilege "When is it not with you? If I recall correctly you still owe me." Roy said, though it was obvious he was distracted by the way he was staring at Aiden, who didn't seem to care too much as he himself was looking around "Just add it to his tab." Aiden said, assuming he had a tab, in which he did- not that Aiden should have known that. He blinked when his chin was tugged at, Roylance turned Aiden's head left to right with a light grip of his index finger and thumb holding the hybrid's chin lightly, he was examining him. Aiden blinked, not quite processing what was going on as Roy spoke "I suppose I have no choice, what is it you need?" He asked, his gaze never leaving Aiden, thus having yet to notice Gabriel.

"My name is Gabriel Lightwood.

I suppose you heard about the...spontaneous expedition into Infernum that the king's hand has recently initiated," Gabriel began, stepping forward to address Roy. Word traveled fact in Redmont regardless of how removed you were from the 'grapevine', and a journey to a place as infamous as Infernum was not to go unnoticed. And that wasn't even taking into the account of the centuries of bad blood between the two kingdoms, and the realms each ruler seemed to honor. Even with the current treaty in place, it was safe to say that it was highly unusual and unorthodox for Redmont to sail or step anywhere near the dark kingdom without severe reasons. Usually war.

"A respected member of the small council has been abducted. Besides the ongoing search and rescue plans, I believe I can aid the expedition, narrowing down the area in question with a locator spell. Now, I would have done it myself if it had been that easy, but wherever the missing person in question is, she's being hidden by all sorts of dark magic. Add in the fact that she's an angel, like myself, and therefore not a regular supernatural or mundane being - I need your help," he finished. He kept some things purposely vague...not everyone could be trusted. Though he did need the man's aid to find his cousin, and bring back his only son. so he played his last and most valuable card.

"If you assist us, the Legion will be in your debt."

Roy mused, finally letting go of Aiden and looking back up said "You bring the most exciting jobs, don't you?" His comment directed at Matthias, who was looking anywhere but the warlock "Very well, I think I can manage that." He said, turning before wandering off, Matthias immediately following after, halting abruptly when Aiden slid past him before continuing. The hybrid was picking up all kinds of things on the way to where-ever it was they were heading despite the fact the'd been told not to touch anything. It was mostly bottles full of different colored liquids, some were smoking some weren't. He was throwing them all into one bottle, setting the already used ones down as he went. The main bottle, the one he kept mixing liquids into, was turning a combination of colors violently. He was just glad Roy didn't seem to notice as they neared their destination, the tower.

Gabriel relaxed slightly when Roy let go of Aiden - actually, he hadn't realized he was tensed at all. Regardless, he felt something about the strange warlock to be a bit off. Maybe it was the way he'd looked at Aiden like he was a damn science project, maybe it was Matthias's expressions every time the man opened his mouth, Gabriel wasn't sure. But it bothered him to no end, pricked at him like a mosquito bite that just kept itching.

He focused his attention on Aiden again, following after as he gathered the unknown liquids into one jar, mixing them as he went. It still amazed him how calm he was about the whole half demon thing. Maybe it was the fact that Gabriel had actually come to appreciate having the man around. He was a bit wary of him now, but tried not to show it. As far as the angel had seen, his human side had proved to be dominant, and was probably what caused Gabriel not to notice. But the wariness was there. It wasn't just the fact that Demons and Angels were made to be mentally and physically opposite, but the added factor of the archangel's personal experience with them. To him, 'inner demons' wasn't just a phrase used when talking about one's issues. It was much more literal.

It was around the time that Roy had opened a door that Aiden accidentally spilled some of his concoction, it burned through the floor like acid. He stared down at it with the face of 'oh.'. Matthias grumbled something and shoved him past in and into their room. Aiden still hadn't let go of his bottle as he looked around the circular room, it's walls and floor were stone, probably for good reason, and at the moment there was a long table in the middle with a giant map on it "This is different from how I remember it." Matthias said, Roy shrugged "The tower changes to what I need, it's combinations are endless." He muttered, reaching into his coat pocket and pulling out a pendulum, which for some odd reason caught Aiden's attention right off the bat. Maybe it was because demons were often associated with pendulums, or maybe it was the shape- which oddly enough resembled something he'd seen in his 'dream'. Which he still wasn't convinced was a dream. Roy flattened the map out as they looked it over, no doubt a map of all that was Limbo, it was...Bigger than Aiden had expected. His pupils widened at the thought of exploring it all.

"Hm..." Gabriel made a noise of appreciation as he looked around, recognizing the design of it all. The dynamics of the home reminded him of the Grigori house. He decided, in that moment, not to ever start a fight with warlocks. The species was much more danger dangerous than people tended to give them credit for. Hell, they were the most dangerous and capable of all supernaturals on Limbo, and they weren't stupid either. He suspected it was why they tended to stay out of the political affairs of both crowns - unless there was something in it for them, of course.

"It shouldn't bee too hard to track a mass of dark veil." Roy muttered, pricking himself with the tip of the pendulum before, holding it above the map. The pendulum started to swing on it's own and soon Roy let go of it. The device stayed suspended in the air on it's own, swinging lightly until it came to a halt mid swing, the blood that had been set at it's top prior fell down, tainting the map with a drop that seemed to splatter. The drop of blood expanded into something much bigger, it started from where they were and trailed across the sea, Infernum. That was obvious enough, but they wanted direct locations, and that's what they got. The blood seemed to pool at Infernum's core before being set ablaze. Once the fire had died down, it was easy to see where it'd burned. The capital.

"Of course he'd be there...those are literally Hell's gates. The path between this realm and the underworld - and the last place anyone wanted to be. How was it that he always ended up getting caught in the crossfire of these things? It was like a plague of never ending drama. And torture. He turned to Roy, expressing his thanks and trying not to show the disgust he had for the revelation. "Thank you...I won't forget this."

If they were going to catch Alec, now would be the time.

----

What do you mean you won't go on? Who else am I supposed to get?" Alec explored at the man in front of him, who flinched, but still shook his head. "No way I'm sailing to that damned country, m'lord. No way. Thae say it's for the souls of the damned - or those without souls at all!"

As the man walked away, he left Alec cursing at the sky, wondering how he was going to replace his first mate. After that display, he wasn't going to get any more volunteers.

Roy nodded "Don't mention it. Matthias-"

"I'll add it to the list."

"Good good." Matthias grumbled, and this time, Aiden did snort. How many times had he gone to Roy, he wondered. Aiden blinked when his acid like experiment was taken out of his hand, he reached for it like a child when their toy was taken away but it was replaced with the pendulum "You might be needing that soon. Take it as a parting present." He seemed to stare Aiden in the eyes, who narrowed his own and examined the pendulum he'd been given. Why would- How did this guy know he'd need this at any point in time? He looked back up, opening his mouth, but Matthias was already dragging him away "Thanks again, Roy." He said, "Don't mention it." The warlock hummed, looking back on the map as they left.

Gabriel walked with them this time, sending one last suspicious glance over his shoulder at the warlock before heading out and down the steps again. "Well that was...odd," he observed, putting his hands in his pockets as he went. He was silent as he thought over the obvious question, the elephant in the room he'd unknowingly been avoiding. It would be a lot easier to leave if he hadn't gotten to know the two at all. Or if they weren't the only living beings at the moment that weren't a), missing, b), pissed at him, or c), both. He sighed, knowing he was going to mention it anyway.

"Listen. You don;t have to some with me if you don't want to. Honestly, this is the last place you'd want to be, and I'm pretty sure some things that are going to happen will me ten times more daunting than the ones that already have. This....war on the realms? It's not going to stop. I don't blame you if you don't want to be dragged into it. I made the mistake of doing that to you once, Aiden," he looked at hybrid this time. "I won't do it again."

They'd already exited the house by the time Gabriel spoke up, they both turned, listening intently to his words- and not just because of the unsettling dead silence around them. Aiden blinked, stopping himself from grunting in displeasure when the attention was brought to him. He could feel his face heat up but he ignored it best he could. The hybrid crossed his arms, making a 'tch' noise "You already dragged me in this far, I'm not leaving now. I'm going with you whether you like it or not." He reply was blunt, to be honest. Matthias brought a hand down on the smaller one's head "Where he goes I go, so that makes two of us." He stated. It was obvious Aiden had his own reasons for sticking around the fallen angel, going to Infernum, whatever the Hell that was, and Matthias could see that. He was not only going because he wanted to help out of his own free will, not only because he stuck to Aiden like a kid to their mom, but because he also wanted to make sure his friend didn't hurt himself. Physically or emotionally.

Gabriel blinked, actually surprised at their answer. But he wasn't going to complain about it, that was for damn sure. He knew it must have been at least a little bit selfish of him to be happy about this, but he couldn't say he wasn't glad it was happening. He turned, walking ahead so they wouldn't see the smile that had crept across his face in spite of himself. A little bit pathetic, but he could care less at the moment. He wouldn't have to face the hounds of hell alone.

"So...to Redmont, then?"

The walk back to Redmont was more tiring than the walk from. Aiden didn't know why, but it was, he had to admit that much. At one point, he made Matthias carry him under his arm, like a suitcase. The hybrid was surprisingly light, that was probably because he din't eat a lot and didn't weigh all that much, but that was alright, he made up for it in strength. Either way, Matthias had been following Gabriel for the time being, not sure where he planned on heading now, but he was certain that it would have something to do with that little tike named Alec.

Running his hands through his hair in frustration, Alec was even more unhappy to see the return of the personal bane of his current existence - who happened to be blood related to him. "What are you - you brought them?" Alec asked, noticing the others behind him.

"Yes. I did. There is no way I'm letting you go to Infernum on your own, especially not to the Capital where I just figured out you need to go. I'm coming with you, so are they. And judging by the display of yelling I just witnessed, you need the help anyway," he said matter - of - factly, rebutting any thing Alec cold have come up with to refuse with that one sentence. Alec scoffed, folding his arms, stubborn as ever. "I'm willing to bet none of you know anything about ships. I won't have you putting my army at risk."

Aiden made a face, then blinked, looking up at Matthias, who had an utmost offended face on "You know what they say about assuming. Makes you an ass." He said, arms crossed. Don't know anything about ships? He knew the damn things inside and out, he'd studied them since he'd been a child, there wasn't a single ship he couldn't figure out, and to have this kid tell him so, that was simply appalling. Aiden seemed to smirk, and this is where Alec was wrong. One of them did know about ships, and that was the best thing about it. He would love nothing more than to prove Alec wrong in each and every way, simple because he didn't like the guy, but he couldn't do that...So he'd just live his dreams through Matthias, who looked ready to do that for him.

Alec frowned. He, as a Ranger, had an average knowledge of ships. He was never all that skilled in dealing with them, and he only learned because his training required him to. He didn't like being wrong about things. So if this guy knew more than he did...

"You know what, fine. You think you're smart, why don't you captain the ship?" He said, a spur of the moment decision. he was fairly confident that when the man failed, not even that annoyingly handsome face of his would earn him back the respect of the crew.

Aiden had to latch onto Matthias's back, the minute Alec said captain he was gone. The hybrid, in panic, had all but hooked onto his friend. Alec should have never challenged Matthias on that, mistakes were all but made, and though he wanted to prove Alec wrong...Matthias had that utterly determined look in his eye "Please don't show off, please don't show off, Matthiasss." Aiden knew the man too well, they were going to war not a boat show. He didn't know just how much the man knew about boats, but it was simply too damn much for their own good. What made it worse is that Matthias didn't even want the crew's respect, he wanted the ship, and he was about to get both without even trying. He wasn't a perfect man, don't get him wrong, but he was a boat expert- and that's what scared Aiden most.

"Wha- HEY!" Alec wasn't going to be left standing in the dust as that man and his hybrid friend boarded the warship. He darted after them, the pit of dread growing larger as he realized he might of made a mistake. But there was no going back now. And it was an excuse to avoid another awkward conversation with his father. Gabriel rolled his eyes, knowing what Alec was in for, and taking to the air to soar above them, deciding he wouldn't set foot on the ship until he really had to. He watched as it left the shore slowly, floating above it, keen to watch Matthias outshine the Nephillim for once. He had to agree, Alec deserved it.
