This is it, the apocalypse 1x1

With the ship already untied, Matthias started off. He didn't ask the crew for anything, in fact, did it all himself which went from setting the sails in the correct position to hauling up the anchor. With the standard first-step chores aside he took the wheel, Aiden blinked stupidly when the boat started to move, boats were...Weird. He'd never really been on one, thus didn't know what if felt like to be moving on water- nothing like moving on land that was for sure. It was if you were on land, but the land was constantly moving under you, and that was the worse part. On the brighter side, he wasn't a sea-sicker, on the not so bright side he refused to budge form Matthias's side due to his inability to make it very far without stumbling. He was not used to this constant movement. This must have been how Gabriel felt about walking. It was distasteful.

Alec watched as Matthias methodically prepared the ship, then guided it out to sea expertly, his face turning a deeper shade of red once he noticed everyone else's reactions to the scene. Rather than be a sore loser about it, he simply pushed back his pride, and made himself walk to the wheel. He wasn't happy. But it was his own fault it'd happened. "It seems I've been proven...incorrect," Alec muttered, glancing at Matthias in defeat, though was slightly calmed by the ships rocking motion beneath his feet. It was something to get used to, in his opinion, and if you got seasick? Good luck. But after many a time in ships like this one, he'd come to like the constant movement. He looked up, deducing that his father did not appreciate the movement, and was in fact, avoiding the landing. Typical.

Matthias hummed victoriously, Aiden made a small smirk as he'd been seated at Matthias's feet, watching the waves go by. They were nice to look at just not to feel. He looked ahead, watching the crew head about. Matthias, despite only just starting to sail, was already having the time of his life. This was all he'd ever dreamed of from the time he'd lost his eye, which was since he was just a kid, a toddler, too young to understand that that snake was not a snake at all. Finally, he'd learned, but that would have to wait, they had a girl to rescue- and that they would. War ship or not this was a ship no less and he would make sure they made it to their destination no matter what. The dedicated type he was, about as loyal as a dog, a trait he shared with Aiden, and maybe that was why they got along so well, because no matter how big of a fight they had- they'd lay their life on the line for one and another. That was simply how it went with anyone they knew, stranger or not, and it was dangerous and a bit ignorant, but it was simply them.

Alec retreated below deck to work out some battle tactics - if worst came to worst - under Gabriel's watchful eye. The angel had been stationed atop the crow's nest, after his wings began to grow weary from hovering. Even the swaying from up there was making him a little nauseous. He'd thought walking was bad, but this was worse. Ten million times worse. It wasn't his first time on a ship, but it had been a very very long time since, and that boat wasn't even as large as this one. He took a deep breath, hoping it would help.

Aiden puled out the pendulum that Roy had given him, still unsure of why he'd needed it anyways. He held it up, expecting it to do something. It did nothing. Matthias looked down and chuckled at him "I may be wrong here but you're no warlock Charlot. I doubt that's going to help." He said, Aiden glared up at him "It's got to do something." He muttered, shoving it back in his pocket, Matthias shrugged "Maybe it does, but I don't think now is the time." He said, the hybrid sighed roughly "Yes mother." He mumbled, leaning back and hitting the deck. Face up he stared at the sky as it passed them and swayed with the boat. He hated the feeling but he hated not being able to walk where he pleased even more "Infernum, how far is it?" Aiden asked, glancing over at Matthias "Far." Aiden all but groaned, raising his attetnion back to the sky, this wasn't going to be fun. At least not for him. But this gave him time, time he didn't want, time to think.

Alec was bent over a table with a large map sprawled over it. He was going through his plan, both or rescue and defense if it was needed, making changes here and there and marking certain spots. He had resorted to using a few candles to light his way, as he brushed his dark hair out of his eyes for what seemed like the hundredth time as he tried to plan for every circumstance, tried to make everything perfect. His control freak side may have hindered in some aspects of his life, but this certainly was not one of them. His detailed plans often led to victory, though few people saw the mental anguish he put himself through to develop them to that point.

Finally, deciding he needed some air, he came up again to the main deck, sighing as the wind blew against his face, his eyes glowing from the full moon in the sky.

Sailing was easy, too easy, Matthias could do it with one had- but he didn't. He was too focused for that, the only time he looked away from the horizon line was to look down at Aiden, who'd fallen asleep, snoring softly. He looked surprised, Aiden never slept during the night. That was..New. He wondered if his friend was sick, and just wasn't telling him, or maybe he really was just tried and had passed out. Either way, it didn't much matter, as long as he was ok. He brushed the off-topic thought aside and glanced down, taking notice of sudden movement. None other than Alec, finally emerging from his darkened den under deck. Matthias hadn't a clue what he'd been doing under there, but if he was studying the other right, he looked a little stressed. Matthias adverted his eyes back to the horizon, it wasn't any of his business.

"Where have you been?" Alec asked, making his way toward the new Captain, saying the words softly as he'd noticed the sleeping mass beside him. He'd decided to make conversation, as he had nothing better to do, and he was hoping it would somehow take his mind off of his work. His own dark coat billowed with the wind and he knew he'd never get the small of the salty ocean spray out of it. Not that he minded very much. He stood beside Matthias, one arm propped up on the side of the ship as he gazed out over the waves. "I mean, if I'd known you were this efficient, you'd have been in control of the fleet years ago."

"Hm?" Matthias's head turned when he was spoken to, he studied the other while he had the chance as he listened "Hunting serpents." He shrugged, saying it like it was a natural thing. Honestly, that's what he'd been doing. Other than studying ships inside and out, he'd tried to learn as much about serpents as he could, which wasn't much. They were rare creatures, and not many had seen them. It was impossible to find out any more than he'd already known, and that was frustrating. He tilted his head, hearing the rest of what Alec had to say, in charge of a fleet? It sounded big to say the least, a responsibility that he didn't know if he had the nerves for Speaking of nerves, he glanced down at Aiden, who seemed to be twitching in his sleep. Nightmares.

Aiden jumped, looking around, where was he? Where was here? He furrowed his eyebrows, attempting to move forward, he was only allowed so much distance before he realized he was chained at the waist. He looked down, but his attention was quickly caught "I'm hurt, I really am. You look so confused, don't you recognize your own home?" Aiden's head shot up to an unfamiliar voice and landed on an even more unfamiliar face "Oh don't make that face, surely you recognize your own king." The man spread his arms, as if expecting a hug, Aiden backed up without any second thoughts "I don't have a king." He hissed, the man chuckled at him "Vicious, even when chained up like the monster you are. Admirable, really." Aiden stared at the man, he had no name for him, his face was not familiar what-so-ever "Still confused? That's a little sad, but what's a hint going to hurt?" The man shrugged before turning his attention back to Aiden "I'm the one who started it all." He said, almost cracking a smile. Almost. Aiden stared, squinting. That wasn't much of a hint, really, in fact- it didn't help at all. The man could see that, and shrugged, again "Well, I'll let you ponder on that for as long as you please, that's not why I called you here." He said, pacing around in front of Aiden "There's a few ground rules I'd like to set with you, Aiden." He said, stopping in front of him. Aiden just about flinched at the sudden fire that seemed to burn so harshly in the man's eyes "For starters, you're treading on thin, thin ice- but that's just because you're you, and that can't be helped. What can be helped is you not screwing up all that I've worked so hard to put together." He strode over to Aiden, grabbing his face, claws digging into his cheeks with the feeling of a thousand needles digging into your skin "Don't screw up my work. Second off," He said, his grip only tightening, Aiden let out a hiss, squeezing his eyes shut when the nails broke through his skin "Don't touch my PureBlood- I know what you're thinking and I won't let that happen, and lastly-" Aiden's eyes snapped back open, the familiar feeling of being strangled was coming back as he was held above the ground, air fleeting from his lungs "Don't. Touch. My. Brother. If you do, there will be consequences in which you will pay for. With your life." Aiden was released, he dropped to the ground, not making any effort to get back up. The man smiled "I do hope we're clear, little Aiden dear. But I do have a tight schedule, and ah, look at the time. Just thought I'd drop that little memo for you. Another time, then?" The man's words started to fade, and Aiden himself started to black out.

He too looked down at Aiden, who seemed to be twitching rather strangely in his slumber. All well. At least he could get sleep. Not satisfied with Matthias's grunt, Alec nudged the man in the side with an elbow. "Fallin' asleep there, mate?" He smirked at Matthias's expression, before getting an idea. Alec kicked of his shoes suddenly, tossing them to the side. He gripped the side of the ship with both hands, then swung himself over so that his legs were gangling over the mass of water as he managed to balance while sitting on the edge, feeling the mist and droplets of the saltwater lick at his feet, cool on his skin.

"Unlikely." Matthias muttered, he'd read a lot of pirate books when he was a kid, and not once- not a single time in any of those books did the captain fall asleep while sailing. Not on his way to his destination not on his way back. Not until the job was done, and their job was far from over. Of course, neither of them seemed to notice the bleeding claw marks on Aiden's face or the bruises caused from an all too tight grip around his neck starting to form. Maybe it was better if Matthias didn't notice that. He might have had a bit of a fit.

"I've never seen a real pirate. Read about them, yes, of course. Always better to know your enemy. But...they seem...more complex than that," Alec thought out loud, rocking back and forth on the wood, keeping a firm grip with his hands as he looked over the water. "I've heard the stories. The thing is...you can't tell if they're right or wrong. Some of them anyway. I always thought that was one of the scariest things our minds could offer - when the evil isn't all evil, and the good isn't all good - why, who's side do you belong on?"

Matthias made a face, looking over at Alec "Do you always talk in riddles or do you just like screwing with me?" He'd gotten the jist of it until the end and...Then he was lost. He was on the good side, last time he checked but then again- oh well, then again, maybe Alec didn't see it that way. He didn't like Aiden, last time he remembered, and Matthias was like a sickly loyal dog to the man. While he could say one thing Alec could think another and in the end, did it really matter what either of them said? Oh good, now he was thinking in riddles. That was just fantastic.

I can't decide which would be more...pleasurable," Alec drawled, unable to miss the opportunity to make the comment. He chuckled, tapping his heels against the sturdy damp wood as he wrapped the coat around himself again. "Bloody cold out here tonight. Or maybe it's the wind. Dunno, tak your pick, though you look mighty cozy over there..." he stopped as a shadow loomed in the corner of his eye, as well as the accompanying 'thump' of feet hitting the deck. "Oh goody. You."

Gabriel ignored him, too tired to make a comment, and was actually about to head below deck before he caught sight of Aiden, sleeping not so peacefully on the ground. With claw marks and bruises on his neck, he was obviously in distress -

He moved toward the body, inspecting him, afraid to wake him up in case something worse happened. "Matthias? What is going on? Is he choking?!"

Matthias blinked at the sudden drawl, he wasn't sure what to make of that, but somehow somewhere he felt he was being played. Just a little. He carefully listened to Alec, studying him, he wasn't sure if he trusted those words or not. What was he getting at? Didn't matter he- his thoughts were cut off when Gabriel had landed, hearing the other he looked down, noticing the sudden damage done to him friend. The man froze. He'd only been looking away for who knows how long, he would have known if something had gotten so close to him "He shouldn't be." Matthias narrowed his eyes, Aiden's twitching had stopped at some point, but the bruises around his neck were becoming deeper colored, worse, it was visible now that the prints had come from none other than a hand. The hybrid had stopped moving.

Alec swung back around, but didn't move away, instead watching intently from his spot. He didn't entirely like the hybrid, but he didn't want the man to die. At least, not like this. "It's not a dream. Its...halfway between that and a possession. It's not a vision either, because the subject is clearly exhibiting physical marks that break the skin - "

"ALEC. He's not a science project, now would you just tell me what's wrong with him rather than what isn't?" Gabriel growled, though his son as unfazed, if not a little triumphant in getting a reaction out of the Angel.

"Very well. Could have just said please...someone else had intruded his subconsciousness, and as a result, is making his body think it's being strangled, or cut, and it responds as such. Waking him up won't solve anything. You need to make his subconscious believe that it's not being attacked, that he's seeing something far away from where he actually is. "

Under his shirt from the chains wrapping, Aiden's torso was also taking the marks. Back in his own head his vision was fading in and out, clearly, without a doubt, this is what hell felt like. Being chained down in constant pain for what felt like too long, strung to the ground just waiting for someone or something to kill you despite the fact that it would never come. The man, who he'd yet to give a name, was gone, and Aiden was staring into the flames that oh so carefully came closer in slithering like patterns. Reminded him a lot like snakes...Snakes...Serpents. He blinked. He hated water for a reason, and this was why. Drowning. And it was cold, but mostly drowning, which he was, or he felt like he was- as the air was fleeting his lungs. That damned voice echoed in his head "One last parting gift for the damned." And then it was gone, he was gone, whoever that bastard was. Aiden would remember his face that was for sure, but for now he was more focused on the burning sensation the salt water was bringing to his wounds. It was a sting worse than fire, but of course he couldn't focus on that too long, something big moved around him. Something like a snake- No, not a snake. Serpent. Right.

Gabriel took Aiden's head in his hands, breathing out as he tried to relax, before literally pressing his forehead to the hybrid's. He knew what his brother could be like, new his patterns. So when he reached out with his own mind, he could literally track his brother through what Aiden was feeling, or at least, through the mess he'd left behind. He reached out to Aiden's subconsciousness, trying to drag the attention away from Lucifer's horrors, uncaring that the demon would know that the angel was interfering on Aiden's behalf. At the same time, he tried to drag away the pain. He could only do this because the agony wasn't actually there, but was just a thought. an emotion. And that was what he grasped for. If the terrible images stayed, they still wouldn't make sense if all the pain was gone, revealing that it wasn't real. Breaking Lucifer's hold.

Aiden blinked, something he'd been doing a lot of lately and oh was it a pain to take notice each and every time, this however, was different. There was nothing. It was pitch black, he was floating around in literally nothing. It had all been wiped away, whatever that hellish nightmare was. Now he'd floated off into some kind of comatose while his body fixed itself. It was a painful process if you were awake, so naturally, it'd put him into a deep sleep. Comatose, as stated, was the term the humans used for it. Aiden, once again, knew the word just not how he knew it, what it meant exactly or what it's origin was. He could feel anger in the back of his head, it burned but quickly dimmed to nothing but cold. It wasn't his, someone else's. Someone who was undeniably pissed for whatever reason. He didn't much care, he simply waited until his body was done doing what it was doing so that he could wake up.

Gabriel retreated from Aiden's mind only when he felt the man begin to heal, both mentally and physically. He felt sorry for the man, not only because of what he'd seen, but because he' himself had been the main target of his brother's mental attacks. They were horrifying. And now the angel was equally as angry that he'd done it to Aiden. What did he want with the hybrid? Lucifer never did nothing without a reason, without a motive...so what on earth was it?

"Did it hurt?"

"No it felt absolutely great. What do you think? And shouldn't you know!?" Aiden curled his tail around himself and hissed at the demon, who he'd quickly learned was the source of the darkness, it'd wrapped itself around him like a shield- refusing to be bypassed again "Im sorry. I couldn't block him this time." Aiden frowned, this time? He looked up at the three eyes, all narrowed down at him "This wasn't his first try?" A low grumble rippled through the air "Wasn't the first, won't be the last- But it won't happen again." There was a tone of determination in it's voice, which seemed so close to his own "Who was he?" He asked, cocking his head "Lucifer, King of demons. First of the fallen." Aiden looked down at his hands, looking most displeased "I'm behind, aren't I? I don't know anything about that. Or them. I don't know anything, do I?" He looked back up, it was obvious that he was distressed by the tone seeping out of his voice "You know more than you think you do, and that's enough. Don't focus on what you don't know, focus on what you do, you'll need it if you want to survive."

"
And if I don't?" A silence hit, a long one, it took Aiden a while to realize that the demon was gone, and that he was waking up.

"Aiden. Aiden? Can you hear me- Aiden!"

Gabriel couldn't help feeling like a huge weight had lifted off of his chest as the feeling of pure relief washed over him. As soon as he'd retreated from the man's mind, Gabriel had begun to worry if he'd actually wake up, as somehow he still wasn't breathing. But when the hybrid had finally gasped and opened those amber eyes of his - he was just glad Aiden wasn't dead. "You...I...Jesus," Gabriel stammered, unable to express his thankfulness at the moment for two reasons. First being he just intentionally provoked his brother...not a good idea. And second being that he was so close to Aiden that their noses were touching. And Alec's gaze was just enough to complete the total awkwardness of the situation.

"No, not even close." Aiden said, only catching the word 'Jesus' before coughing, coughing some more, coughing up blood, then spitting it out into his hand "Tastes like shit." He focused his gaze, then flinched, realizing just how close he was to Gabriel. That red tint took it upon itself to find it's way to the tips of his ears. If one didn't know by now, that was the hybrid's own special way of blushing.

"Actually, blood is supposed to taste like metal." The hybrid was brought back to reality, then glared up at his friend, who seemed relieved as well, and showed it by saving him from his own awkward situation "Thank you, captain. Any other words of wisdom?" He hissed, Matthias shrugged "No. Want some water?"

"No I don't want your damned salty water, I think I've had enough of that." He said, clearly remembering the serpent and the stinging feeling of the salt against his open wound. Seemed his body had finally healed itself though "Suit yourself." Matthias shrugged.

Gabriel leaned back, getting to his feet in an attempt to not let his own blush show after noticing Aiden's. What was the matter with him? He shook his head silently, as if to dislodge the confusing thoughts and feelings from his mind before he looked back at the group.

"Are you alright?" He asked, trying to act as if the awkwardly scary moment hadn't happened.

"What did it feel like?" Came Alec's voice, as the teen leaned forward to study Aiden and his appearance in relation to the mental turmoil the man had just gone through. "What did you see? You did see something didn't you...was I right?"

Aiden made a face at Alec, a face that clearly stated 'You can screw off now', but he decided to humor the teen "Imagine being chained down with absolutely no way out, feeling pain and agony with a burning sensation you've never felt before, worse than the hottest of flames, waiting for the death that will never come because that is your eternal punishment for yourself simply because you carry traces of sin- while the devil himself mocks you, simply using the excuse of setting 'Ground rules'." He could describe what he saw but what he felt? Well, that was it, that was mos certainly it. It was irking needless to say, Matthias of course let his eyebrows raise. Aiden sounded more than pissed, but that was what happened when you were dragged through Hell he supposed.
