As if the sudden claustrophobia wasn't enough, hostilities began just as easily; Lany sought to remove herself from it. She had her beating for the day, and the rest of them could manage to arrange theirs on their own. Finishing her meal, she got up with her tray and brushed past the smart-mouthed imp, as well as Silver, who she acknowledged with a small wave. The conversation got louder as she left.

At least for her, she went straight to the extreme and got her beating from the Head of Security - if Will and Alisdair were really going to go at it, they had to consider after they beat each other up, a guard would come along and add to that burden. It was cumulative. Lany considered breaking it up, but she caught a glimpse of Valerie's red mane entering the cafeteria earlier. Avoiding the eyeline of the Head of Security, she also saw Will clamping Alisdaire's jaw open, bellowing contending words to the surrounding inmates.

Oh god. What happened to laying low?

Almost ironically, Lany turned to see a girl with brightly colored hair lying on the ground, limp and seemingly unconscious. Lany kneeled beside her. Everyone's attention was turned on Will's display of morning psychosis, something Lany was already suspicious of - she considered breaking it up, probably by protecting Alisdair, but it would seemed she had picked sides over the man she needed to build her a new leg, and the guards were already closing in. The best she could do was divert at least a few guards' attention and lighten the blow to protect both Alisdair and Will, hopefully before Will pulled Alisdair's jaw out, and get this unconscious girl some help.

Eeny, meeny, miney, mo.

As much as she wanted to save Will and Alisdair from Valerie, that bridge was burned. The next best choice to divert attention from the two was the heavily armed and armored CO. Lany hurried over to the guard's side, holding up both hands in supplication and standing in between the guard and the commotion.

"There's something wrong with her; you've got to help." Lany pleaded to the guard.

  • They are going to fight.
    Yep.
    Going to do anything Sam?
I would.... if I didn’t want to let the aggressive one have his time. This will be a learning experience for everyone. Especially the rowdy rebel that is that man.
    That is cold.

Sure enough, as the inner monologue occurred between the possessed and possessor, she clicked off the safety and watched the quick flurry of blows, only to land in a perfect position for Sam to prevent misses. Since there were prisoners eating in her way she pointed it at Will through them, the message clear and the prisoners scurrying off to sides of the table just in time to fire off her first shell at Will’s side. The round was a beanbag round, a decisive choice for Sam with how she loaded the gun each morning. One to warn, five to kill.

“LOCKDOWN! EVERYONE HIT THE GROUND NOW! NOW! YOU! YOU HAVE TWO SECONDS TO COMPLY!”

Sam bellowed this out at Will while instructing everyone else, all while the metal shutters shut on the windows and doors slammed shut and locked, the lights going to back ups. Honestly, Sam was so busy dealing with this she forgot about any other guards around her.

|:| Jasper Bent |:|

As expected, Alasdair didn't want to play nice. Jasper took advantage of the badmouthing and used it to allow his gaze to wander about, let his mind focus elsewhere while his possibly worst enemy was off picking a fight with someone else other than him. As soon as he heard the insults continue to be thrown, however, Jasper further regretted his decision to follow Nix onto this troublesome duo's table. Obviously, two people who had antagonized the head of security before 12 hours in prison had even gone by were a bad crowd to be involved in. And it was attracting a lot of... unwanted attention, even from the guards.

And it was all downhill from here as soon as he caught Will stand up from the table and get close to Alasdair. Jasper immediately nudged himself as far to the left of his seat to possible, afraid that the siren to his left would feel him nearly touching her from his attempt at staying away. He knew those looks, those words, ones spoken from a true madman. It was those very people that the telepath used to put behind bars, much like Alasdair. But Will was a far more dangerous threat. Just by being a jerk verbally, you'd land yourself a nice little ass-beating. And Jasper knew he had a tendency to be too honest for his own good, sometimes coming in handy as a shrewd negotiator, but othertimes a way to get you a bloody nose, much like what had become of Alasdair, now pummeled to the ground and being yelled at by a more powerful inmate. One that seemed worthy of the psych ward at this point.

Jasper gulped, immediately scooting closer to Nix, the one person he felt a slight bit comfortable with on the table, and directing his sights to Lany, his only method of contact without making anything obvious. What the hell?! You s... ...were gonna lay low--

The message was cut short by the sound of a loud firearm, getting the attention of, what one could assume, everyone in the cafeteria. The telepath's eyes flew over to the crowd, catching not only the fully-armored guard, but also the call for lockdown accompanied by the procedures hinted by the head of security yesterday. The windows were blocked off by blast shields, the loud clicking sound in the background could only be the doors locking, and the lights immediately swapped over to a blazing red. Even if someone didn't know what 'lockdown' meant, it was clear that trouble was afoot.

And Jasper didn't hesitate to comply, quickly hopping from his seat and falling to the ground, face first and covering his head. Gunshots were heard, and he didn't think this'd be the end of them. He could only hope that the rest of the crowd on the table wouldn't try to make the scene worse. His eyes crept to his side to try to meet with his cellmate, trying to concentrate over the sound of the alarms blaring in everyone's ears. In what he could only assume was a thought to himself, a hope if you will, he realized the extent of his mental process breached a barrier he'd been trying to break all night long.

Don't act dumb, Nix, get....

Jasper knew that feeling, the feeling of reaching someone's mind. It was far more stressful than just normally thinking, but this took a lot of strain that he didn't even feel. Perhaps an adrenaline rush? A one-off thing in the heat of the moment? Would he be able replicate this later? Whatever it was, it was enough for Jasper to send off a quick, cut-off telepathic message to Nix, hoping she could hear it over the loud alarms around them.

As he kept his head low, Jasper could feel a slight lightness in his head, and the edges of his nose becoming slightly bloody. His eyes widened to the ground, as he realized what was happening: by getting that message out to his cellmate, he'd caused a nosebleed. Fuck... he growled to himself in his mind. Now, there was more reason for a guard to look at him and wonder what was going on. Whatever he'd done to communicate with Nix, it was mentally taxing and would be noticeable if it came with nosebleeds and lightheadedness.

|:| Valerie Masterson |:|

Valerie took the simple 'okay' from the wendigo as a sign of approval. With an ear-to-ear grin, one that spoke more of sinister intentions than approval, she gave Dyani a pat on the shoulder with her free hand and nodded. "Good Moose. Now play nice, will ya? And get some food in you. What you see is what you get, and you don't get extra time to eat for showing up late, y'know."

That was one simple problem out of the way; what she didn't notice was that another inmate - Alice - had fainted just moments after their little encounter. All Valerie did was continue on her way, twirling her baton around and watching over the inmates who were minding their own business....

Until the sound of a familiar inmate yelling could be heard from across the cafeteria. Upon turning around, Valerie couldn't see where this inmate was, which prompted her to walk closer to the location. She gripped her melee weapon tighter as she noticed Sam approaching and firing off the bean bag shell, calling the lockdown, and setting the protocol in effect, blast shields, door locks, alarms, lights, and all. What a morning this was about to be.... Oh, fucking wonderful. Someone decided to be a naughty boy today. God damn it, I shouldn't have blown my hypnosis on Shit Ed....

Though bummed out about her own error, there were more pressing matters at hand. As she barked orders at the inmates to get down and not move a muscle, the redhead noticed that while Sam was taking care of the scuffle, another inmate was laying on the ground, as if she were unconscious, or worse. It was the very punk-looking inmate that she was calling the 'emo girl', Alice. Odd, last Valerie checked, she was fully awake and conscious. A bit nervous to even touch her due to her unstable electric abilities, Valerie held out her nightstick in the direction of the girl, attempting to draw it closer in case this was some sort of charade.

But, indeed, this was no fake act. As confirmed by the inmate she chose to know as nothing more than 'Stumpy', Alice had fainted on her own, possibly due to her trying too hard to use her abilities. This was possibly a side effect of her drugging, but Valerie didn't get hung up in the science of it all. She only gave Lany a displeased look from the corner of her eye, not acknowledging any form of thanks for the information, and instead, swung her nightstick from Alice's direction to her own.

"On the ground, Stumpy! Or I'll be sure to give you seconds from earlier," she growled. With absolute ease, she placed the nightstick back into a firm hook on her utility belt, then whipped out another tool from the opposite side - a stun gun. She held it out with both hands firmly on the handle, and held it at Lany's face, signalling her to get down. She didn't focus too much on the amputee inmate or the unconscious one below her, and after a few seconds of slight eye contact, Valerie dashed off, barking similar orders to other confused inmates, threatening to give them a taste of her taser much like she did to a solitary confinement inmate the previous night.

Then came that strange table full of overly-sociable inmates who seemed to be gathering in some sort of day-one 'gang'. Turns out it didn't go as well as they'd hoped, as they were the center of attention in a lockdown. One inmate had taken a bean bag from Sam in order to be subdued, and the other was bloodied and bruised, clearly the victim from a physical standpoint, but Valerie knew that inmates don't get a beating for nothing around here.

The barrel of her stun gun remained pointing at Will, more specifically, his stomach. She couldn't hypnotize him under the cooldown, but physical means weren't beyond her. Considering how beaten Alasdair was, she only spared a few glares at him to make her threats known. She placed a single boot over Will's shoulder, then barked at the two perpetrators, "No whining, no bitching, face the floor, NOW! Or I'll happily fry your testicles on day one!"

Violence and rule breaking seemed to be the name of the game on day 1 of this new set of inmates... fortunately, Valerie was cranky and off her fix in such a way that she didn't care for consequences. So long as she was getting off to it in some creepy way, be it sexual or based on an adrenaline rush. She did take an opportunity to lower her head to the same level as Will and snarl into his ear, "You're gonna love what the SHU has for you, Bob the Builder. Just you wait."

Alice would need to get medical attention when the situation calms down, obviously... but Valerie had that slight bit to thank to Lany, to show that the electric inmate wasn't the reason for this. Otherwise, things might not've gone so well for Alice.

Sam would also be in need of personal congrats from the head of security, but for now, gave her a quick wink of approval for the drastic but necessary measures. Perhaps her stance as a full-armored guard brought out this intimidating figure that could be a force to be reckoned with in Thesta. Even for Valerie herself.

|:| Edward Brookes |:|

Edward and Jacob were off to a great start with one another, despite the demon's intrusion. With peace and quiet and a general agreement on Severinus' situation in Thesta with the Vatican keeping an eye on him, the Warden exchanged a smile and assisted the Chaplain to somewhere he could rest. "Of course," he went on, "Thoughts and prayers out to those who've lost their way. And I can assure you that there are many here. That doesn't mean they can't find it again."

But that attempt at keeping the attention off Pisha didn't work. The topic went right back to her little performance right before the two older men. Edward's smile faded and he arched an eyebrow as he thought to himself what he was going to say about the literal demon he had keeping watch over his prison. He could give a name, sure, even a fake one, just to satisfy the priest, but it would come into contradiction later if another staff member calls the demon by their real name. He took a deep breath and formulated his words carefully. "Her? We only know her as.... well, Pisha. An odd one, definitely, but an effective one at her job..."

Then came the moment where Brookes would literally be saved by the bell. A loud buzzer went off to signal the beginning of lockdown. The lights flickered to red, the windows were covered by metal slates, and the chapel doors were sealed shut on their own. Normally, Edward would be in his office during a lockdown, the safest place in the entire prison... but not now. He was in one of the less-secure locations at the moment. He looked away in shock, trying to hide the panic in his face. The inner warrior in him took a few steps back, as if he were to be more of a human shield for Jacob in a worst case scenario.

"Lockdown has been put into effect," the Warden explained, speaking louder than normal to be heard over the alarm. "I'm not sure what's happened outside, but don't worry, we should be safe in here, considering nobody else has entered the chapel but us. It should be averted in a matter of minutes, but until then, we just stay here and wait it out. In theory, there is no threat in this building just yet..."

Just yet.... The Warden was trying his best not to show his concerns about being somewhere not-so-secure. He couldn't give the impression that the new Chaplain wouldn't be safe in his working quarters. Similarly, he had to hope that whatever had caused the lockdown wasn't going to reach them in the chapel...

Sith had only just taken off her apron and walked out of the kitchen when she saw two men on the floor while one beat the other's face in. A few guards intervened, including queen bitch herself, and a lockdown was set in motion. She was halfway between the table where it was happening when the alarms started blaring. She hadn't noticed she was approaching the commotion until she had to lay down on the grimy prison floor. She watched as the assailant was threatened by the two guards. She gulped audibly as she watched the situation unfold. If every day was like this, prison would surely be a worse hell than she imagined.

David was sitting at his desk reading a romance novel as sirens started blaring. He sighed and shook his head. He opened the drawer of his desk and hid the book there. He was... embarrassed over his tastes in fiction, so he'd rather people not know about it. He had a few saved digitally, so he could read those more discreetly and would be more likely to avoid making a fool of himself if someone were to barge into his office. He should probably stay there in that room, as there was a guard outside of his door most times of the day and quite a few patrolling the halls between gen-pop and his office. The blaring alarms unsettled him slightly and he wiped a bit of sweat from his brow that had been accumulating. If he was lucky, such things wouldn't happen very often

Boethius watched what was happening in stunned silence. How in God’s name had things escalated so quickly to reach this point. Sure the man’s words stung, but did they truly warrant such violence? Perhaps that was the difference between him and the other inmates. He had no desire for conflict or cared about his image. This was not so for everyone, something he was being reminded of in a very graphic manner.
Then came the shot and the shouting. Boethius reacted even before the lights changed and the shutters closed them in. He was already on the floor with his hands over his head. He wasn’t exactly sure what was going on but he didn’t want to be perceived as a threat. nonametobefound nonametobefound Athanas Athanas firebright24 firebright24 Zenpai Zenpai KasperXIII KasperXIII Sybil Sybil

Jacob raised an eyebrow at Edward when he said that the name of that girl was Pisha. “ No family name? Is she an orphan then?”
Before he could get an answer however lockdown had been initiated and the chapel had been sealed. The sudden noise made Jacob jump and reflexive grab for the hip on his bad leg, where he used to keep his side arm back during his days in the IRA. Something he hadn’t disclosed to the warden was that he in fact still had his side arm a compact chiappa rhino revolver. While small it made a hell of a noise with stopping power to boot. It was strapped to his bad leg and hidden under his cassock. So if anything did happen he was more than prepared to deal with it.
“Well there’s nothing for it then Edward. Why don’t you come into my room. We can share a drink until this thing passes over.”
Jacob was already making his way over to the little side room that would be his living space.

  • The demon couldn't have planned this worse. Right after dealing with holy aches the lockdown happens? The lockdown she was waiting to ruin it all? To tear the walls off of the place and crucify the priest on his own cross? Damn it all Pisha was having the worst luck, at least in her own mind.

But when the fates call, they call.

Pisha slithered out of Samantha in an instant, whisking back across the prison and back to the Chapel. "Showtime~"

What happened next could only be described as something otherworldly in its occurrence. The chaplain and warden would hear the sounds of what seemed like one person knocking on the door, barely heard over the siren of the lockdown. Soon though it would be like two... three... five.. seven people slamming against the door with their fists it seemed. Screams for help could be heard of different languages, genders, even age. The large doors of the Chapel would shudder as the violent slams began to act in unison, the locks from the lockdown keeping it from bursting open as the screams only got louder. Horrid noises and squeals would be heard from the other side now, sounds of murder and gore along with monstrous breathing..... And the minute the lockdown was shut off all the disturbances would cease in the time it took to blink. The door was calm, the air easy once more.

If either decided to open the door, they would see what many guards saw now. The entire hallway leading to the chapel was covered in scratch marks, beast and human-like but with such strength, it tore into the concrete like chisels. The worse part would be the door to the holy entrance, sporting a whole new level of worry. It was covered in every slur in the book, carved into the very doors themselves with horrifyingly bold penmanship. The entire door was now a mural of hate, splattered of course with a few upsidedown crosses and demonic charms carves in as well. On the floor was the last message for the duo, the words facing the chapel for them to read.

PROFESS YOUR GOD IN MY HELL, I PUNISH THE DAMNED

Seems someone does not like the chapel. Just a little.

The beanbag struck Will right in the ribs, causing him to lose his grip on Alsadair's jaw a mere couple of seconds before he had succedeed in completely ripping it out. He quickly jumped to his feet, eyes refocusing on Sam, then darting to Lany, then finnaly rotating back to Alsadair. It was clear that the sudden escalation of this entire situation, in combination with the blaring sirens had left him startled and confused

"Finish the dog, then let her shoot you. Show her how futile her attempts to control things are"

''No, that's not fucking right. That wasn't in the plan! That Alasdair twat made me fucking lose it! He knew this would happen!

His focus returned to reality, only to see Valerie leaning over him, mumbling about how he was about to be sent to the SHU. FUCK, FUCK! THEY CAN'T KEEP ME IN THERE! I HAVE THINGS TO WORK ON

As Inclined as he still felt towards violence, he realised that in order to minimize the damage already caused, he had to surrender. Alasdair would pay. Valerie would pay. Whoever that bitch in the armour was would pay. Just not now.

Finnaly heeding the call for lockdown, Will slowly got to the floor.
''He..He started it, you know. I gave him every opportunity to stop. He wouldn't listen''.

Alasdair sat up, rubbing his jaw. "Yeah, take all the blame off yourself, what a pussy move." It hurt to talk but he pushed through it. Blood flowed from his nose into his mouth and he hawked up phlegm before spitting out the bloody mess by Will's feet. "You can eat shit, asshole." He flipped him off before rolling onto his stomach and putting his hands behind his head. He smiled to himself, not caring about the pain it caused. The bastard was getting thrown into the SHU and there was nothing he could do, he seemed horribly upset about it and that caused Alasdair a sick, twisted version of joy. "Karma's a bitch," He said, turning his head towards Will where he was sitting on the floor. Revenge in any shape or form was sweet, and Alasdair had no qualms over taunting him now, not with a gun and Valerie's bitchiness directed at his opponent. If he even dared to move a muscle, he would probably get more than a warning shot, and Alasdair felt his bloody grin grow even wider at the thought of Will getting a face full of buckshot. Sure Alasdair sort of egged him on, but he wasn't the one to go psycho. All he was ddoing was being honest, after all.

The accusations went back and forth, along with badmouthing and foul hand gestures between the two offenders. Frankly, Valerie didn't care who 'started it' in the verbal confrontation. What happened was black and white from a guard's standpoint: an inmate assaulted another in an aggressive manner and showed no signs of stopping; therefore, he needed to be stopped, and, since he broke the rules of no violence outside the fight club, he was to be taken to the SHU, no questions asked. Alasdair, however, though also acted like a total ass, wasn't necessarily breaking a rule. But the mess on his face would have to be treated in medical, and so would the fainted inmate a few tables away.

It was all too tempting to swing at the bloodied inmate who dared sit up during lockdown and yell obscenities. The head of security has her stun gun directly between his eyes as he did so, clenching tighter on the grip as he continued to lash out. Eventually, he did cave, though continued to talk. "Shut up, Flimsy," she snarled, planting a heavy boot onto Alasdair's neck with a quick kick to ensure his head was down, not giving any regard for his past injuries. "Flash your finger around me again, and you're gonna lose it, so stay down and wait for medical..." Her attention veered away from Alasdair and towards the rest of the inmates cowering in fear. Most of them were new, and this would be their first legit lockdown. "...And that goes for everyone else here, too!" she yelled, flailing her weapon about as she returned to the now-surrendering Will. She reached down for his neck with her left hand, showing off her own strength as well as she forced Will to his feet. "Get up, Bob the Builder. Looks like you can't fix this fuckup of yours. But first..."

Once she had the inmate barely on his feet, that very same taser in her other hand took a new turn from the inmates as a threat.... and into Will's side while active, sending thousands of volts into his side, roughly where Samantha had shot him with the bean bag round. She kept him held up as best as she could, due to him post probably losing balance from the literal shock.

"Hah, you're not the only one who can make people suffer around here, big guy," she cackled, now looking towards the newer guard, who handled this situation... quite well, honestly. Valerie could appreciate a feisty woman. If Lany doesn't want her tooth back, she could always go back to her original plans of going after Sam. But she needed a temporary fix, and fast. "Fratellis, get over here and give me a hand to get this guy out of here... right after this..."

With that, Valerie sent Will yet another shock from her taser gun into his side, all for the joy of it even though the inmate was very much subdued and no longer a threat. Similarly to that solitary confinement inmate on the tour, Valerie was using Will as an example not to cause a lockdown like this ever again, or this would be the consequences. For now, Will's next destination: a cell in solitary where he'd suffer sensory deprivation. Probably the worst nightmare of someone who needed to keep their senses busy.

Very soon, medics would show up on the scene to take Alasdair to medical, and to haul Alice off to be treated. At least Valerie could rest easy with the fact that the punk girl didn't try anything such as faking a faint...

The Warden was quite surprised at how calm Jacob was in response to the lockdown, all except for a quick reach for where a sidearm might rest - a familiar reflex to this war veteran. He could only imagine that new inmates were probably freaking out and losing their minds, and maybe even some of the more inexperienced guards, too. But amazingly, the Chaplain was relatively calm about it. Alert, but still calm. Simply put, despite Edward's paranoia about being someone less secure than his usual office, Jacob was handling things well. Even so much as to offer drinks later. "Perhaps when we can chat in peace, and not have to yell over the sirens," the Warden replied. "Allow me to help you over to your quarters."

Edward marched over to the crippled man's side, giving him a hand from beneath his shoulder, to help him get to his private room, but it seemed as if there was another noise coming from not far away, just outside the chapel doors. It sounded like a human scream, just barely audible over the loud buzzers. The ice-powered man looked back to the doors, almost wondering if it were someone trying to get inside out of fear of an assailant on the hunt. The screams became more blood-curdling, making the older man worry what was going on out there, and where the guards were to handle this. He knew he could easily open the door to let this victim inside, all with the help of his master key to bypass the lockdown protocol on the doors, even to the chapel. But at this point, it was too late to save that voice outside. Opening the door would only put himself and the new Chaplain in danger.

Instead, the two took refuge in the chapel's private room, Edward shutting the door behind them , hoping whatever was outside wouldn't be able to break the chapel doors. This didn't make him feel much safer... but it was better than hearing the screams outside.

Shit.

Her plan had gone awry; as she was trying to catch the attention of the amoured guard - who went full commando anyways - she caught Valerie's instead and had that infernal nightstick shoved in her face again. She wasn't able to complete any of her goals - running the clock before Alisdair and Will both got the boot into the SHU, but then again, Alisdair still had his jaw once CO Fratellis initiated the lockdown; she wasn't able to get the unconscious girl some help either. And if she decided to go over there, she'd look like she were part of inciting incident, and probably have to spin another bullshit tale out of thin air - it wouldn't have worked either. There was no way out of this.

From her eye line along the ground, she struggled to meet Jasper's, but caught him lamenting about her previous thought about laying low. I know.

He probably couldn't read her from the distance, but based on his eye line, he was fretting over Nix - probably worried she might try something again. Meanwhile, the guards had finally intercepted Will and Alisdaire - there was no doubt Will, her first and one of the most significant allies, was going into the SHU. She had found someone she needed and lost him in the span of an hour. You huge idiot. How hard is to just stick to a plan and lay low?? Lany could only hear what was going on, but Valerie's mirth was tangible with every crackling shock.

Lany's luck was as non-existent as ever. Based on the fading of heavy, dragged footfalls, she knew Will was being lead to the SHU.

You'd better fucking survive. You and I still have business to attend to.

Jacob nodded as they headed into his private room. Whatever was going on outside the chapel doors wasn’t something he or his good intentions could handle. He made the sign of the cross over himself as he looked at the chapel doors one more time before closing the door to his personal quarters.
Once inside Jacob sighed and found too glasses and poured some half full with what was technically communion wine, but given the circumstances...
“ I don’t know what foul demon is making those sounds, but at least it knew better than to enter the house of the Lord.”

  • The gun remained pointed at Will right until he was cuffed, the bulky shotgun now lowered as fellow guards remained vigilant to the horde of criminals now on the ground all muttering to themselves and others. As Sam looked up from her target she caught a glimpse of the wink from the cruel guard woman offset the current mood of the room, but that was for another time to question as Sam walked over upon Valerie's request, grabbing an arm of her previous target of a shell. Honestly, she had hoped to have someone else handle the problem child with a smart mouth, but then again she and Valerie are probably the only two with enough balls to interact with the man seeing as they all looked at the two female guards like it was their problem.

"Fucking A plus work here guys, you all sit there comfortable don't move now... Jesus...." The helmeted head rolled in its socket as she began to pull Will with her senior officer, heading off with Will with her.

With the rest of the inmates intimidated and given instructions to remain on the ground, it left Valerie and Samantha to drag the troublesome inmate away and into the SHU. Good thing the inmates learned a lesson from watching one of their own brought to submission, and then some, then hauled away to be left by himself for a fair amount of the day. Valerie had a grin across her face as she hauled a weakened Will by the arm, imagining how a man whose specialty was building things would fair in a place and situation where he couldn't keep his hands busy, not hear, see, or smell a thing, and could not scream for help. The only thing that could've made this entire encounter sweet were if she could hypnotize him. But foolish her, using it on the Warden and catching the attention of a certain bored, nosy, demon. At least said demon was probably too entertained by all of this to give a damn for 'justice'.

Meanwhile, Valerie did, at least in this moment, serving up a well-deserved punishment for an unruly inmate that she'd already bumped heads with the previous night. While she thought Lany would be the first one that pisses her off and gets sent to solitary, Will was a good second-best. The head of security scanned her master keycard by every sealed door, shutting them behind her, as she escorted the subdued inmate to his new home for the next few hours.

The isle for solitary looked similar to that of gen-pop, but more narrow, a single floor instead of two, poorly lit, and with nothing more than a tiny-sliding window shield blocking the only source of light in each solid metal cell. Brushing the annoying sound of the sirens and the bothersome flashing red lights off, Valerie lead the way to the first free cell, already unlocked, and lead the two others inside. She forced Will against the wall with her full strength, immediately grabbing his right arm, pinning it down, and chaining his wrist there so it would hang around head level. Her gestures were enough for her subordinate to catch on to and mirror. The redhead did the same to Will's right ankle, restricting him so he couldn't walk more than two inches away from the wall, therefore keeping him in one place. Being chained to a wall, there wasn't much else Will could do in there, so the cell was completely empty otherwise, besides the sensory deprivation equipment. The first she applied was the dark blindfold, entirely blocking off anything he could see, with the last object in his sights being Valerie's sinister glare and grin.

"You're gonna have fun in here," she cackled once the blindfold was secured on. The second object was the muzzle, which would block off his ability to talk and smell, only allow for the exchange of gases in his system so he wouldn't die. She secured that over his face, hooking it together from behind his head. "Maybe you'll learn to keep your hands to yourself, and possibly fix yourself before trying to fix other people's shit, Bob...." With the final part, the noise-canceling headphones, in her hands, she gave him a few last words before placing them over Will's ears. "Enjoy your stay in your luxury suite, buddy."

With the inmate secure and completely deprived of most senses, she stepped away, worried in case he'd jerk about violently. He couldn't harm her, but it was only her instinct to get out of the way of an infuriated animal, even if weakened. She gestured to Sam to follow along, as the two guards exited and locked the door behind them.

Now, with the threat out of the way, they could call off the lockdown. "Good call, Fratellis; you averted what could've been a grave crisis back there," Valerie commended the new guard, giving a nod of approval as she approached a box similar to the intercom one in gen-pop. With a swipe of her master keycard, it opened for her, and with the push of a button, the sirens stopped, the red flashing lights were replaced by the normal prison ones, but the blast shields didn't go away just yet. Instead, it gave way for an intercom announcement.

"Attention, maggots, lockdown will be called off, but let this little outburst serve as a warning for the future. Anyone who fucks with me or any other guard will just eat shit at the end of the day. Do not test our patience. I believe you've had enough warnings. Next time, I won't be so lenient and let you get by without anything more drastic than a few tazes.... Finish your food and get to your designated work places. ASAP! MOVE IT, EAT FASTER!"

Immediately after the announcement, the blast shields were retracted, and normal protocol resumed, leaving Sam and Valerie in the hallway to solitary to return to the cafeteria. With lockdown called off, medical experts from the infirmary were probably en route to collect Alasdair and Alice for examination, leaving her heavy lifting mostly done.

Edward looked back once more at the door that the two had shut behind them, unable to get those screams out of his mind, even if they were faint and being drowned by the sounds of sirens. Out of respect around the Chaplain, the Warden mimicked his sign of the cross and accepted the communion wine to help soothe his nerves. He took a sip and nodded along, equally thankful for Pisha not making things worse than they should be. She'd already made a nasty impression before a man of God... but it just burdened him what happened outside the chapel doors. What monstrosity were they in for? Whatever it was wouldn't be lockdown-worthy, but scary? Definitely. Pisha....... he hissed in his mind. You aren't gonna hear the end of me.

Acting like he had no idea of the demonic source, Brookes spoke, "Thank God. Those screams were.... something. I haven't heard anything like that since the time when I served. And certainly nothing that gruesome."

Not much time passed before the sirens and lights changed, then Valerie's announcement pierced their eardrums. Annoyed at his head of security's foul language, rather inappropriate for the situation, Brookes tried not to let it bug him as he just shook his head in dismay.

"Oh, thank the Lord that didn't last long," he sighed in relief. "Good thing we have a top-notch staff who can get behind threats like this and ensure peace and safety is restored. Hopefully that's a tad... reassuring for you, as a man who doesn't possess any sort of powers."

Alasdair sat up from his position on the floor once the lockdown was called off as the prison's medical personnel hauled him away. He began laughing as Will was dragged off to solitary, his eyes following him until he was out of sight. The bastard snapped and was now getting what was coming to him. Alasdair just ignored the pain he felt and his laughter dissolved into little fits of giggling. He only hoped the twat suffered in solitary, sensory deprivation didn't sound like fun and Alasdair loved that. He usually wasn't one for holding grudges, but 'Bob The Builder' really pissed him off. Who did the fucker think he was? Alasdair laughed and giggled as blood from his broken nose leaked into his mouth. He didn't mind the metallic taste, in fact, he savored it. It was a reminder of how fucked up Will was going to end up in solitary. Retribution tasted great.

Sith stood back up once the lockdown was over. She looked around before her eyes fell upon an odd hybrid of a spider and a woman. The poor creature was in some sort of daze. She looked horrified and scared, and even though they were both convicted criminals in prison, Sith felt pity for her. She slowly and cautiously approached her, trying not to frighten her further.
"Are you well? Do you need help?" Sith asked, her concern shown plainly on her face. "Did somebody hurt you?"
Sith tried to make herself seem as soothing and reassuring as possible. She didn't want to make the spider woman any more upset.

Jacob finished his glass in one gulp and got up once he heard the lockdown end. He wanted to make sure whatever happened outside the Chapel was over and to help if he could. However when he opened the doors and saw what the demon had done Jacob’s face went from one of concern to a mask of contempt. Jacob turned to Edward and said, “Seems to me you have a demon prowling about... I’ll need new doors.”
Jacob grimaced at the profane message on his doors and after searching through his pockets produced a phone which he used to call his superior the Bishop to the closest diocese to Thesta.
“ It’s me... no it’s not about the boy. There’s demonic forces in the prison assaulting the chapel... yes I’ll need the tools of exercism... what?... what do you mean I can’t-.... I understand. Go in peace.”
To say Jacob was angry would be an understatement. He was visibly fuming.
“ Edward... I’ll be having a package delivered here soon. Please let me know when it arrives.”

Boethius does as he is told and once the lock down ends he all but shovels the food into his mouth and returns to his kitchen duties.

Everything was a blur. Alice had awoken from her dead faint but her vision seemed to be impaired. She also had a ringing in her head. The same she would sometimes get if she overloaded her self with electricity. Her attempt to use her powers had clearly not mixed with her meds well. Was she being lifted? Yes, they were lifting her onto a gurney. In the back of her mind as she drifted in and out of consciousness she knew they would take her to some sort of medical ward.

When the medics arrived with Alice in the medical ward they set her up with an IV to flush the bad drugs out of her system. She was continuously in and out of consciousness while the medics mixed up a new cocktail of meds to try out. Did they know if it would work this time? No. Having never dealt with someone with these powers before they had no clue what would work. In a way they were glad to have Alice to experiment with to test how their drugs work on some one with her talents.

Once the meds were flushed from her system they gave her the new combo of meds and then waited for her to regain strength and to come to.

  • The armored guard seemed to relax ever-so-slightly as the blast doors opened, thankful the whole situation was handled. Honestly, this whole thing was chaos, especially for one of the most advanced prison systems. Did the prisoners not fear and respect where they resided?

I just did what my training taught me to do, nothing beyond that, but I appreciate the positive comments. Shall we head back to the cafeteria now?

-Nix~Inmate-

Not long after the insulting dwarf had spoken, another man who had sat himself on their table decided to give his opinion, and in a matter of minutes his words were suddenly directed at Jasper. Nix instantly darted her gaze to Al. And she lay frozen as they suddenly went back and fourth. To probably everyone’s displeasure, Will –though clearly good intentioned- entered into the mix. And while holding onto a dainty bit of hope that nothing more that a bit of banter would forge out of this. Such wasn’t a possibility.

Will! No!

Nix was powerless. And with little opposition by anyone, the once smiling builder that had given her a sense of happiness gripped in her hands now, became of something she couldn’t recognized. It almost reminded her of herself. In appearance and voice something beautiful and alluring, and yet when you met the other of half of her, it was a different person. A monster…

The gunshot was almost immediate. Her eyes glowing with fear as blast shields sprung down on windows with a bang that caused her panic. As lights sunk rapidly into a alarming red Nix hurried to scurry off the table. Words suddenly bolding themselves in her mind as she scrambled.

Don't act dumb, Nix, get....

Jasper! Oh my god! She had heard him! She heard him! She had no time to offer a thumbs up. The siren like a fleeing rodent leapt to the floor, and assumed the position indicated by the now approaching head of security.

Nix wouldn’t look up. As much as she wanted to see what was going on, a mind now swimming in panic sought better of it. She slid her eyes shut, heavy breathing exhaled through the thick mask that would protect her jaws and prevent it from ending up looking like the Alasdair.

"Get up, Bob the Builder. Looks like you can't fix this fuckup of yours. But first..."

The siren braced herself. Instantly flinching as the taser went off. The buzzing sound infiltrating her ears with the unpleasantness with what Will must be feeling. Her worry therefore also slid over to Jasper, and something more terrible than Will’s punishment had slid into her thoughts.

She had brought him into harms way. She had been the one to request him to join them on the table. This was HER FAULT.

She buried her face in hiding, as a tears were increasingly threatening to spill themselves. Her body shivering as the taser continued buzzing and crackling before finally decimating into silence.

And while her first attempts to help the group were meant to prevent SHU, she had clearly failed. The empty space of no more Will a reminder of that. It was only moments later that the witch blared her unwanted voice through the speakers.

The alterations of lockdown were retracted. And the unexpected day 1 phenomenon suddenly came to an end.

Still ridden with shivers Nix slowly sat up. Eyes readjusting to the light as she scoured the cafeteria. Other inmates slowly rising like dead corpses begin awoken. But her focus unintentionally drifted to Jasper, and pain quickly sunk deeper into her expression.

What was she say to him?

Oh right. Nothing...

Had he still been face down, to let him know lockdown was over. Her pale quivering fingers would slowly reach out to tap the sleeve of his uniform, with extremely delicate pressure. Before shrinking away as she brought herself to a stand. Eyes clearly avoiding, no longer teary, but evidently distressed and uncomfortable.

Sith's gaze softened with sympathy for the spider. "I do not think of myself as insane, or at least I hope I am not. If anything could dive me to madness it would be this place." Sith scratched her arm subconsciously before looking back up at the spider woman as she towered over her. "My name is Sithembile but most people find that to be a mouthful so they simply call me 'Sith'. I'll try not to go insane for both our sakes." Sith finished with a small hint of humor, offering the woman a kind smile. She hopefully didn't scare the woman with that smile, she just wanted to find someone who wasn't completely corrupt in this place, even if that was a bit much to ask. Maybe Sith and the spider could be some sort of friends or at least allies.

[ Faust - Inmate | Height: 1'1" ]

It had all taken Faust by surprise. The sharp verbal exchange between inmates had devolved into a much more physical one, one that was very much one-sided. His cellmate was, unfortunately, on the receiving end and it was painfully clear there was little that could be done. Even if there was, the opportunity had been doused within minutes. That's when Faust took time to examine the armored guard for the first time. They had taken action immediately. No, it was more than that. They had already been watching this highly suspicious group. All they needed was cause to interject so forcefully. The group had probably already been aware of the target on their back, and yet the smiling one still succumbed to their rage. Alasdair too, must've been aware. In fact, this was probably what he was aiming to accomplish. Either that or he was a complete idiot, but that conclusion wouldn't stand. Not because Faust personally cared, but because his cellmate would be far more useful if they were clever.

Subtle ripples ran along Faust's face and overwrote his previously smooth skin with matted cuts. The gunshot and the blaring sirens that followed were obnoxious, and without even meaning to he had already fallen to the floor. The aberrant noise was putting a damper on his entire day. He wouldn't be able to stand living in such a place it if this were to become a common occurrence.

One. Buzz.

The grating buzzing of the tour hag's taser.

Two. Buzz.

Like a swarm of bees drilling into one's ears.

Disgusting, all this because some slimy smiley slab of meat couldn't swallow a few words. Served them right. He only hoped it hurt as bad as it sounded.

Salvation from the noise came from none other than a different vile sound, the intercom—and from such an unsavory person too. But it didn't matter. There were no more gunshots, no sirens, no buzzing, and, for a while, there would be no incessant chattering among the tables. All that remained was an aggravating echo in Faust's head, dizzying and mocking. Distasteful. It was as the voice over the coms had said: maggots, every last one of them. Faust knew all too well. Squirming and festering, their mere breath a reflection of their intoxicating sins. If not for these obtrusive bracers, and whatever sapping poison that had been injected into his body then he could... he could...

His mind had gone on and on before suddenly slamming to a halt. The feeling was familiar but the impression had long since faded, so instead he stooped to his feet.

The air really did taste dreadful.

|:| Jasper Bent |:|

The one thing Jasper hoped for during the lockdown was that none of the guards marching back and forth threatening the inmates to get down would pull him to his feet to investigate. Though his nose didn't bleed as much as he thought it would, it was still enough to be suspicious and have them snoop on him. Sure, it did look like Will had gotten a punch off to his face, and that's what it might be dismissed as with the only consequence being him sent to medical. But that's where the disaster would break, as they'd be able to determine that it, indeed, wasn't a normal nosebleed, but rather one of his powers being exploited while inhibited....

He understood the reasoning for why he could read Lany's mind so easily; it made sense to an intellect like himself. But Nix... Why her, and why at that adrenaline-filled moment? Was she able to hear it over the alarms? It wasn't much in the way of a message, but the mere fact that the siren could hear his voice in her head, and not from his lips, was a breakthrough on its own. Problem is, he could do it once; can he do it again? Or was it just an in-the-heat-of-the-moment glitch?

Jasper paid attention to the guards yelling over his head, hardly getting more than a side-of-the-eye glimpse, but hearing the sharp voices and the sound of someone receiving a taser to the side twice. Valerie wasn't showing any mercy to the offender. Now more than ever did he keep his head low and bleeding nose out of sight to avoid punishment for using a power that he didn't even think would work. The footsteps of the head of security's boots over his body made the experience all the more scary, praying she wouldn't look down and notice a tiny puddle of blood beneath an inmate's face.

Then the two guards in question escorted Will away, off to solitary. For how long? Jasper could only hope a while to avoid confrontation from the troublesome inmate. With their departure came a waiting period where it was nothing but a few guards ensuring that the inmates still had their heads down and weren't moving otherwise. None of them seemed to notice the tiny bits of blood near Jasper's head. He sure was dodging bullets as he clenched his teeth and hoped nobody tried to lay a hand on him. It was hard to tell incoming footsteps due to the sirens and the flickering red lights. How much longer would lockdown last if the threat is gone and on his way to solitary?

A few endless minutes passed as they waited until some sort of announcement came through, and soon enough, it did. Valerie's voice once again pierced their ears as she barked insults into their heads and made them think much less of themselves. Boy, did she always seem to be in a bad mood. Someone needs to get laid, Jasper joked to himself, as the lockdown protocol was retracted, the lights returned to normal, the alarms stopped, and the blast shields were lifted. Finally, lockdown was over.

...But Jasper feared getting back up out of fear of what was to come if someone saw his bloody nose. He'd have to get up somewhat carefully and head to the bathroom without drawing attention to himself. Then he'd have to see if he could replicate the results he had on Nix. If she'd suffered a head trauma similar to Lany, communication with the two of them would be perfect, all mentally.

He felt a hand tugging at the sleeve of his uniform. His heart skipped a beat at first.... but there was no voice forcing him to get up. Would a guard give a simple tug and not say a word? Who else would be so... friendly with him in here?

Nix....

His guess was correct as he rolled onto his side, covering up his nose with his free arm, but a bit of blood was visible streaming down his chin. He didn't want the masked siren to freak out or do something to bring attention to himself. The telepath slowly sat up and shook his head to Nix, trying to send the message through her mind... It's noth....

...It didn't work?? How did it work at first? Jasper could now confirm that this was a one-off thing, at least for now. It was a damn shame, considering how convenient it would be. Please hear this... But no, sadly. At least he didn't bleed this time. He sighed as he reached over for the napkin on his food tray, quickly wiping as much of the blood from his nose, lips, and chin as possible. It wasn't as much as he'd feared, simply one line of blood that trickled from his left nostril, down his lip, and dripped to his stubble.

"I... You probably heard that, right?" he brought up once he was clean, but in a soft voice so that only Nix could hear him properly. If word got out that he could try to read anyone's mind, nobody would leave him alone, and word would get to the guards. "I'm fine, don't worry. But I don't know how this happened. But if I'm going to... well..." He gently lifted the bloody napkin closer to his face before crumbling it to hide the red spots on it. "...I don't think I should try again here."

This entire lockdown situation had everyone on edge, especially after being graced with Valerie's words once again via intercom. Jasper looked around the cafeteria to notice that Will was gone, medics had taken a pink-haired girl away, and more were on their way to pick up the beaten Alasdair. Thank god, he was proving to be a problem. The priest, Boethius, had returned to the kitchen, the spider girl had panicked on her own, and the small fairy-like creature was in submission like all the others. Lany was still there, good thing she didn't fall into the basket of troublemakers just yet, but boy was she dangerously close. She must be fortunate that the redheaded guard didn't take another swing at her while she was defenseless.

At least Jasper could still communicate with her. He looked in her direction and effortlessly sent her his words: We got lucky. Don't react but... ...ay be able to read othe... ...ple's minds. And... ...lk to them, too.

Cutouts, but it was still coherent enough for her to get the message. He glanced about at the remainder of this oddball group... what were they to do now that, once Valerie and Sam return, they'd be the center of attention?

Valerie nodded, giving Sam a brief moment of eye contact, then turned away from the new guard and towards the hallway out of the SHU. "Yep. Back to duty for us two."

'Just doing as she was trained to,' she says, but all Valerie could think about was her potential scheme to get Sam out of her armor suit and down her pants. It didn't help that she was a loyal soldier and probably wouldn't get casual enough on the job for Valerie to work her magic. All she'd need is for the guard to remove her mask, and it could all simply be downhill from there... and she needed it more than ever, especially if Lany doesn't want her tooth back.

With the head of security leading the way, she would give Sam an occasional, slightly teasing glare that read, Nice and easy, right into the trap.... Someday.

The first thing the Chaplain decided to do was check up on what happened outside the chapel doors. That horrid disaster they could only hear, but still be affected by... Edward was equally concerned, following not far behind Jacob. He expected a dead body, or multiple, human or animal, waiting for them at the doorstep. Perhaps pools of blood left behind as a warning. Whatever it was couldn't be pretty, but judging by the screams, either an inmate was being murdered by another outside the door.... or this was Pisha's doing.

And one look at the symbols and slurs carved on the door, the scratch marks left along the walls, and the message on the chapel doorstep showed that it had to be the latter; no inmate could pull this off alone, not this quickly. The work of the demon left the Warden with a dropped jaw and a sunken heart. He figured she'd been weakened enough to retreat and not come back for a while, but they seemed to have the energy left to muster out this monstrosity.

Pisha....

At least, from the looks of it, Jacob was still going to give this job a chance and even placed an order for a 'package', one to help with this demonic presence. What he didn't know is that the demon was a part of the prison personnel, one that would show itself at prison staff meetings. This threat wasn't going to go away easily, and would probably become a holy war under his roof. He had to try and reason with Pisha before they strikes again, probably in the boiler room... He could only hope this wouldn't escalate further, that Pisha had had their fun and called it quits from there.

Still in shock with a few clenched fists, the Warden nodded about the delivery. "Yes, I'll be sure to have it delivered here to the chapel as soon as it arrives. I..." He stuttered, still in shock and disgust at what he was looking at on the door and walls, his voice trembling at every syllable. "I am going to investigate this incident privately. We don't need a widespread panic. You can handle the situation as you see fit from a religious one, and I'll tackle it from a religious one. You can expect another visit from me later today... oh, and I'll be sure to have Boethius pay you a visit this evening. I think he might enjoy the company of another man of the cloth. Until then... take care of yourself, soldier."

Edward gave Jacob a gentle tap to the shoulder and continued on his way, still rather shellshocked from what he'd seen. This was every nightmare in the book come true... and it wouldn't go unanswered.

It had only looked like the commotion had subsided, but in truth, it only went somewhere else with Will and Alisdair parting ways, Valerie and CO Fratellis leading Will away. Everyone was allowed to get up off the ground after the staticky bitch's beck and call over the intercom. Getting up, she heard Jasper's segmented voice, a bit choppier than before; she was able to understand that in that moment, Jasper was able to get a message to Nix. Making her way back to their table, Lany saw the repercussions, a single trail of blood having made a track down from Jasper's nose and down his chin.

"That's not good." It wasn't much, but Jasper must've overexerted himself in trying to communicate with Nix. Well, technically, nothing is good.

Lany saw the rude imp's tray, still untouched though Will had his claim on it. She grabbed the roll of bread, somehow stale as a rock already, and began tapping off the excess flour off it it into the tray. She took the corner of a napkin and smeared some flour on it, and handed it to Jasper.

"It stops the bleeding. Just hold it in for a little."

Lany sat in front of him on the table, and looked up him from her seat.

You don't have to answer me. Don't push yourself. But I think it's best we all part ways for today before Val and Pals get back. I need to watch my back and you need to watch yours. We can talk like this, but try not to. I have a lot to lose, and I already lost a tooth and now Will. You're my last secret weapon. Keep your head down and keep moving. When things die down, I'll be around.

Lany turned and slid off the other side of the table, deftly slipping Will's folded schematic out from underneath Kala's tray and palming it up her sleeve.

"And remember, flour stops the bleeding."

Lany strode away from the table, walking towards a more less congested area on the outskirts of the cafeteria. She sat down at an emptier table, near a shy looking girl with antlers. Lany wasn't exactly blending in with the crowd, but she was sure she could hide behind the obscure appearance of her new company.

Dyani was still looking at the pathetic thing called food infront of her with her mind screaming out for delicious meat. Her body tightens up abit as she struggles to keep her mind and stomach under control until she heard someone pull a chair from the table she was sitting at and sat down. Her attention soon moved to a female that she never met "O-oh hello." she said quietly as then her stomach growled loudly. At that point she felt embarrassed to the point she wants to hide but she just covered her face.

The silver haired girl flinched as the alarms started to wail, curling up on the floor with her hands clamped over feline ears. "No no no..." She muttered, the blaring noise offending her delicate, overly sensitive ears. She paid no attention to the fight, only curling up tighter when the sirens shut off and that horrible flame-haired woman spoke over the intercom. Until she noticed the scent of blood.

That sweet, coppery smell was interesting enough to make the ShapeShifter scramble to her feet, plate of good forgotten as she stretched out all.her.limbs and looked around for the source of the smell.

Turns out, there were several, muddled and confused (and one kind of icky) so she turned her attention on the closest one: the male she had exchanged brief words with yesterday, just before the laser debacle. Getting all up in his personal space, she sniffed the tissue held to his nose, confirming that yes, this was where the blood smell was coming from.
"You know you're bleeding, right?" Silver asked, somewhat unhelpfully.

The good thing about Lany is that Jasper was able to read her mind effortlessly, therefore, not resulting in an extended nosebleed or any sort of mental strain.Well, technically, nothing is good, she said in her mind. Jasper smirked out loud, and sent to her head, Nothing's gonna be righ... ...or a while.

Now came the issue of ridding himself of the blood... which Lany had in mind already: tapping some excess flour off of a stale bread roll onto a napkin, then handing it over to the bleeding man. He nodded and held it up to his face, then took a listen to her unspoken words to him. Time to lay low, it seems. Too much trouble has come the amputee's way in just one day. She was risky to be around, sure, but Jasper saw the opportunity of being able to exploit his powers effortlessly between the walls of this place. Fortunately, it could be easily taken advantage of from a distance. Plus, the agreement would benefit both Lany and Jasper, as long as it doesn't attract attention. Best part was: how would the guards ever know? That is, unless Jasper pushes too far.

Before she left the table, the telepath nodded to her, unsure whether he was replying to her warning or to the advice for the flour. He took a look back at the table, his cellmate Nix by his side. He attempted one last time to see if he could have a chance at establishing this link with the closest person he has... but no, he couldn't read her mind, nor could he send her a message. Must've been a one-off thing...

At least the table was much emptier now... well, for a short time until he saw a familiar woman get up in his face once again. Shit... it's laser-bait again. She was sniffing at the tissue he had up at his face to stop the bleeding. Clearly, from what he'd seen, she might be of age, but she clearly acted like a child. He took a quick step back, using a hand to establish personal space. "Y-Yes. I hit my head a bit hard on lockdown. It's not a big deal, though."

Jasper was concerned. Not only did she act like a child, but like an animal with the way she sniffed out the blood to his nose. It only made him want to keep his distance even more.
