Myremon watched as it all unfolded in a matter of seconds. Lily incessant yappering was actually detrimental to the group's well being, and it was giving him one hell of a headache. Ash rushed to Myremon and hugged him, and Shi, scared, impulsively grabbed Ash and apparently unhinged her jaw, a desperate attempt to subdue the "Demon attack". Myremon looked at everyone in a second, unsure of what to do, until finally, he snapped.
"Alright...

THAT'S ENOUGH!
He screamed, striking the floor with the tip of his staff. He used the rain for leverage, summoning a lightning bolt near the house, the deafening thunder echoing through the forest, making the walls tremble. He waited for some time, taking deep breaths, until he calmed down. "Shi, drop Ash. She won't hurt anyone. Lily, for once, stop talking. You're only making things worse." He shook his head. He looked around, counting. "Veronica, Ash, Lily, Shi... Wait, where's Dante?" He looked outside, the rain still strong, but the mud on the ruined village's paths were untarnished. "Let's... Let's make dinner. Please. Ash, stay in the bed with Veronica, we'll talk later. Shi, come with me. I'll explain everything. And Lily..." He crossed his index finger on his mask, the gloved finger making an "X" on where Myremon's mouth should be. Without another word, he left the room.

Going downstairs, he found Dante's note on the table. He sighed, looking at a window. His wings were strong, he could be anywhere. It was a folly to follow him on the storm. He just placed the note back on the table and went to the kitchen, the headless deer waiting to be cooked.

Ash

She wouldn't stop crying. It was an endless stream of tears. Over 6 months of bottled up emotion being let out in this moment. It'd be a while until she stopped crying.
Even when Myremon summoned a lightning bolt and yelled for everybody to stop, she continued.
When Veronica brought her over to the bed, she continued. She squeezed Veronica and cried into her shirt.

Veronica

"...." She felt sorry for Ash. When Shi grabbed Ash and seemed to unhinge her jaw, she went over and tried to get Shi to drop her "Hey! Let her go! You-" She stopped herself. She didn't want to insult her, but she kept trying to get her to let Ash go until a sudden yell was heard.

THAT'S ENOUGH!

A lightning bolt struck near the house, making the walls shake. She took advantage of this and took Ash out of Shi's grasp. "She's good. Now stop it." she said, a bit aggressively. She carried Ash over to the bed and sat down, setting Ash down next to her. She felt a sudden squeeze from Ash, which was more of a hug, and looked down. She was crying into her shirt. She really couldn't do anything right now and pushing her off would make her feel bad. She caressed her hair and held her close. "It'll be alright."

Shi

Shi looked over at the wraith when he yelled. Her jaw snapped shut and the demon was pulled from her grasp. She went to snarl, but it caught in her throat when the wraith spoke again. Veronica? Lily? Ash? She thought she had each name figured out with the context. Ash was obviously the demon and Lily the fox. That left Veronica to be the mana girl. She clutched her book again, the worn thing bringing her comfort more than anything. She had memorized it from front to cover, but the words were lost to her. She listened to the instructions the wraith gave and followed him out. She kept her gaze on her feet, her tails once again tracing sloppy circles into the wood of the floor.
Once in the kitchen Shi sat down against the wall. She tucked her legs to her chest, the book grasped to her chest as well. All three of her tails whipped around to wrap around her legs. "Shi did bad? Bad thing?" Her claw played with the edge of one of the pages in the book. "Shi did bad thing to....Ash? Make Wraith mad." Her tongue flicked out to lick her fangs sticking out of her mouth.

Myremon rested his staff on the wall near the door, and started skinning the deer. The meat was still fresh, luckily, and in his concentrated state, he only heard Shi when she started speaking. He released a juicy piece of venison and set it aside, hurling a small fireball on the fireplace to ignite it. Magic was handy, especially for cooking. "Shi did bad? Bad thing?" the tailed girl asked, And Myremon stopped and looked at her, sticking the knife on the large piece of meat. "Shi did bad thing to....Ash? Make Wraith mad." Myremon sighed, approaching Shi, cleaning his hands from the blood. "You didn't make me mad, Shi. I only screamed to... disengage... Break apart the situation." He corrected himself, looking at the girl. She talked as if she was a child... How old was she, anyway? He started to refrain from using difficult words. "I know you tried to help. You helped a lot, healing Veronica and Ash." He placed a gloved hand on her shoulder, fortunately not staining her clothes with blood. "Fear does that to us. It makes us do... things. Ash was in fear, that's why she attacked me. You were in fear, that's why you grabbed Ash. You don't need to feel bad because you had fear. It's normal. Now come, let's make dinner. You're probably starving." He nodded, smiling, even though Shi couldn't see it. He patted her on the head, returning to the deer. "You want to learn how to cut venison? It's not hard."

Shi

Shi looked up at the wraith as he spoke to her. He wasn't mad? But she did something bad, didn't she? She nodded anyway. Fear. Yeah, she had been afraid, but also mad. Her tongue flicked out again and- blood. The wraith had the animal blood on him. She was staring off, thinking about the taste of the blood from the meat. She snapped out of it when he patted her head. Her eyes lit up. He was willingly touching her? Nobody wanted to touch her. She stood up in a heartbeat, holding the book and nearly tripped on her tails, all but running towards the wraith. More blood.
She licked her fangs again, looking down at the dead animal. She picked up the piece he had cut and bit into it with her fangs. They looked like glass, but they were incredibly strong. She chewed the bloody meat in two bites and licked the blood off her fingers. It tasted so good to her. "Venison....?" She looked up at him again, noticing he had horns. Interesting.

Myremon watched in awe as Shi gobbled up the chunk of meat in two bites. Was she that hungry or just liked raw meat that much? He chuckled as he raised a finger to her cheek, wiping away a drop of deer blood. You're that hungry, huh? That's not how you eat venison, you gotta cook it first." He noticed when Shi looked at the mask's horns, and poked the tip of one. "This is a mask, they're not real. Here." He pointed at the meat, making smaller slices, cleaning and dicing the meat. "You need to prepare it first. I saw some vegetables around here..." He found them in a box, near a cast iron pot. Grabbing them both, he filled the pot with water from his waterskin, then set up to dice the vegetables. "Look, this is how you cut a carrot," He said, cutting the carrot in the middle, then making a cross cut on the ends of it, chopping them in small pieces. He repeated that with the other things, stopping every so often to teach Shi what he was doing. He loved to cook, especially when he wasn't the only one that was going to eat. "Some seasonings, onions, carrots, salted venison meat and some herbs... and even some good milk. That's how you make a venison stew." The smell coming from the pot was amazing, Myremon slowly stirring the stew with a wooden ladle. He didn't stop or took his eyes away from the food to talk. "So, Shi. What are you? I've never see someone like you. Where are you from?" He took a spoonful of stew from the pot, offering to Shi.

Ash's House - 2nd Day
Lily's eyes burst open at Myremon's outburst, smiling at the sudden change in tone. As he crossed his fingers over his mask toward Lily, she clasped her lips tightly, sucking them in with a poorly fearful expression. Running back over toward Veronica, the half-human began frantically pointing toward her mouth, bouncing around like ants were running up and down her robe, head swaying from side to side, pointing back at Myremon as if to indicate he had placed some sort of spell on her.

Lily's eyes gazed back down toward Ash as she heard her whimpering, slanting her face slightly at the sight of it. "H-hey! C'mon! This is meant to be a fun adventure!" She suddenly dropped the act, lightly smiling toward Ash, prodding the half-demon with a soft finger. "Just think of all the amazing thing we're going to see!" She noted, hands outstretching in an arc, her own mind imagining the potential of Yrin. "Then we can come back and show you!" Lily slightly giggled, brazing over the own implication of her statement.

Shi

Shi looked up at him when he asked if she was hungry. No, she just liked meat. She was sidetracked when he mentioned the horns were fake and part of a mask. One of her tails went up and tapped the mask. It fell with a soft thump once he continued. She watched and listened with rapt attention.
He asked again what she was and then where she was from. Easy! "Shi..." She pointed to her chest with emphasis. She had already told them plenty of times was she was. "Shi from....from.........from....." There was a long pause were Shi furrowed her brows a little and looked down. "Anger....Shi from hate....wrong....no....failure...." her voice was soft. "Shi from run....run....run....hide...." She finally looked up him. That was all she could remember about her past. "Shi from Master." She held the book close to her chest.

She looked at Lily as she told Ash that they were going to see amazing things. "That's...actually nice of you-" but she sighed when Lily added the last part.
"Are you ever not...smiling?" She asked. From the moment that they've gotten here, she's never seen Lily sad. She kept comforting Ash, until she slowly stopped crying. "There.... Better now?" the only response that she got from Ash was a weak "yes". She smiled and looked at her when Ash looked up at her. "Are you hungry?" She nodded. "Well, food's almost ready." She said with a kind smile.

Myremon looked at shi, the way she clutched her book and looked down. He shook his head, and poured the spoon back to the pot, adding some seasonings to finish the dish. "You don't need to run anymore, okay? If you want, you can come with us." He said. The girl was clearly traumatized by something that happened in her past. "Guess we all have something to run away from, huh." He grabbed a bowl and filled it with the stew, handing it to Shi. "Here. I'll call the others." He went upstairs, smiling under the mask to the sight of a calm Ash. "I made venison stew. Let's eat. We can't stay here forever."

Shi

Shi looked up at the wraith. "Not running. Finding now. Looking. Searching. Forgot. Forgetting." She looked down at the blank cover of the book. It was brown like dirt and worn from so long, but it could have been worth millions to Shi. She took the offered bowl and looked down at the stew. "What Wraith running from?" She asked but then he left.
She stood there, book clutched to her chest and bowl in her hand. The tip of one of her tails poked a piece of the venison. She let out a pained chirped and pulled her tail away. It burned her. She was supposed to eat something that burned her? Wraiths were weird. Wraiths ate weird things.
She set the bowl down and opened her book, looking at all the pictures. She made a tittering noise similar to laughter. She licked her fangs again and shook out her hair. It was fluffy and untamed. She sat down on the floor, each of her tails making a soft thump on the floor. Her legs were stretched out before her. She looked like a toddler reading a book.

Myremon went back down and started watching the girl before the rest of the people came down. He poured a bowl of stew for himself and set it on the table, when he saw the girl poking a tail at the stew and burning herself. He touched the outside of her bow, a cold wind flowing from his hands to the bowl for a split second. "Here, this should be better to eat. You look old, but you're quite young, aren't you?" He approached her, looking at the book. Grabbing his own bowl with one hand, he pushed a small lock on the mouthpiece of the mask, opening it. He did this modification to be easier for him to eat; He didn't want to hide and take off his mask to eat anything. "My name isn't Wraith. I'm Myremon." He plopped a spoonful of stew on his mouth. "I'm running from the people that made me a wraith, and at the same time, running to them. I was human once, and I want to be human again." He went silent until the rest of the group came back down, looking at Shi's book. He started reading the book, but stopped midway. She was reading... The Ugly Duckling? He stopped eating, and stared at Shi's face, the girl highly amused by the book. How old was she?

"Alright. C'mon Ash. Let's eat." Ash didn't say anything. Veronica gave a light smile and walked downstairs along with Ash. Why was she acting so kind to her? Normally she would just be like 'C'mon kid, let's eat.' and walk to the table alone, but here she is. Walking with Ash, going to the table together. Perhaps it was because her situation is a bit like hers when she was younger? That she has no one to take care of her, having to get food by herself, survive alone. She sat down next to Ash on the table. "It looks nice Mair." She grabbed a spoon and began eating, Ash was looking shyly at the bowl.

Shi

Shi left the bowl alone and continued looking at the pictures in her book. She looked up at him when he asked how old she was. She was old, wasn't she? A lady had taught her how to tell time....a little. She stared off into space as she tried to count what she could remember. "Myre...mon...? Myremon....?" She looked up at him again, tilting her head in curiosity. He was a human and wants to be human again. She liked him the way he was. He was interesting and looked neat. "Shi like wraith Myremon." She poked his mask with the tip of her tail, making a soft thud. She finally remembered the number. "One thousand-eight hundred and thirty-one!" She practically shouted, glad she remembered it.
Shi went back to her book, noticing he was looking at it. She held it to him. "Read? Shi no read."

Myremon was about to ask what the number was, but he was cut short by Veronica, Lily and Ash coming down. Veronica was walking along with Ash, and when they sat down to eat, Ash didn't touch the food, choosing to stare at the bowl. Myremon sighed, pulling up a chair next to the demon girl. He looked at her for a while, studying her reactions. "It'll turn cold if you don't eat." He took a deep breath, then continued. "It wasn't your fault, Ash. If anything, it was mine. I should've been more careful. Don't blame yourself." He remembered the paper, and handed to Veronica. "Dante went away. He left this."

Ash

She still doesn't say anything but does get a spoon and begins to eat. She eats pretty slowly and just stares at the bowl all the while. She doesn't really know what to say. She tried to kill him but he's just fine with it?! Dante and that mouse girl are gone and they're just over it? Why couldn't she get over what happened!?

She accidentally puts the spoon into the soup a bit too hard and splashes a little bit of the soup onto her face

Lily Ylva
Ash's House - 2nd Day
Face turning sideways toward Veronica, Lily pondered her question for a short moment, placing a hand to her chin inquisitively. "Hmm..." She paused, before raising her hands into the air. "Nope! Being sad is just no fun!" Lily added with a short giggle, furred ears perking at Myremon's words.

Rushing down ahead of the pair, Lily went toward the 'table', looking over her food. As she saw it, her ears drooped almost depressingly. "Don't worry Myremoon... You definitely still act like a human." Half of a chuckle escaped her words as she raised a spoon full of the soup. Cooked, drenched in liquid, and coated in herbs and spices, Lily slightly pulled her face away from the stew, before forcing a chunk of meat into her mouth.

"Blegh! Humans!" Lily's whole face seemed to curl, a large blob moving down her esophagus forcefully, eyes closing from the strange taste of it. "Can't even taste the deer..." She mumbled to herself, until Shi's thought entered her mind, her head poking upwards ecstatically, a pout turning to an open mouthed stare. "Woh!" She mused over the creature, still in amazement, eyes gazing toward her chest where the light had previously come from. "Wait... You've been around for that long and can't read? I mean, I can't read human, but they don't write much of interest!" Lily giggled out the end of her sentence, grinning toward Shi, her eyes staring with interest.

As Ash splashed herself in the face, Lily's gaze moved over toward the young woman. A snort of a chuckle began to erupt from Lily before she placed her hands to her mouth, her face would have turned red if it wasn't covered in fur.

Shi

Shi looked a bit sad. She really wanted to know what her book said. She had it for quite a while. She closed her book and stood up from the floor. She wanted more of the meat, but she knew she didn't need it. They needed it. She clutched the book to her chest again, hearing Lily mention she couldn't read. She nodded her head. "People not like Shi...don't talk to Shi...." She stood beside Myremon, not knowing what to do. She looked over at him and poked one of his horns. They reminded her of her own horns. But he said his were fake. Hers were part of her forever. She was curious about what he looked like without the mask. She projected her next sentence only to Myremon. "What you look like?" She tapped his mask with one of her claws.

Myremon stared at Lily. He really didn't know what was her problem. Did she act like that because of a trauma, or she was just... like that? Nobody is "happy" all the time. "I didn't use the whole meat, there's still something in the kitchen." Ash splashed herself with the stew, eliciting a muffled laughter from Lily, and a sigh from Myremon, mostly because of Lily's lack of decorum. He looked around, not finding a single napkin or handkerchief, resorting to using his gloves to help clean Ash's face. "Missed your mouth." He aided Ash in cleaning her face, stopping only when it was all clean. "There, all done."

He felt his mask move a bit, turning to see Shi poking his horn again. He closed his eyes when she asked "What you look like?" to him, unsure of what to do. He looked at Ash, then Lily and finally Veronica. "Alright. Ash, mind looking away for a minute? Veronica..." He started unclasping the back of his mask. "I... I didn't want you to see me like this, but..." He closed the mouthpiece, to make it easier to take it off. "I think I need to. Shi..." He unclasped everything, holding his mask with one, hand, the other curled into a tight fist. "I'm not a demon, okay? It may look like I am, but... I'm not." He reluctantly took the mask away from his face, his eyes closed. The row of teeth were closed, but still let out a faint wisp of inky darkness escape. He couldn't dare to look at them now. Pity, fear, maniac curiosity... He talked, but his mouth didn't move. "I am the monster you're looking at right now."

Lily Ylva
Ash's House - 2nd Day
Lily stared toward Myremon as he started speaking up, clapping her hands together with excitement as he began to unclasped his mask. Her mouth was agape with excitement as he began to remove it, until finally... "You are no monster Myremoon." She gawked in amazement at the sight of it, even with Shi here, Lily couldn't get over what Myremon was. Her voice was soft, almost compassionate as she look on in awe. "Monster is not a physical trait, it is behavioural... You are fascinating." Lily continued to muse, her gaze never faltering as she inspected his face, this being one of the short moments she was able to. "Ooooh! I wonder what else we'll find in the demon's lands!" Lily hollered in glee, smiling back toward Shi for a split second. "Don't you agree!?".

Shi

Shi watched as he removed his mask, following each hand as they undid whatever held it on. He said he wasn't a demon, but she already knew that. He already told her he was a wraith. She flicked her tongue over her fangs as he removed the mask. He wasn't monstrous. Not in the slightest. She had seen plenty of monsters. "Not monster. Wraith. Kind wraith. Nice wraith." Shi smiled a wide grin, her blue fangs protruding in an almost menacing way. She reached over to touch his cheek. "Why hide? Shi not hide when hated." She spoke like it wasn't a big deal that people ran away from her. Sometimes more than she wants to admit.

Ash

She didn't say a word when Myremon helped her nor did she look away when he told her too. She just kept staring at the bowl, thinking.

Veronica Saia

She was eating the soup surprisingly quickly. "Mmmm" She took another bite. "Thish ish good!" She said with some food in her mouth. She swallowed and set the bowl done. "Ah...That was good." She turned her attention to Myremon who called for her. "Hm? Wait...hold on..." Myremon took off his mask. His face was unsettling to say the least. "That's....horrible." Normally she would have been terrified and been incredibly upset and worried for Myremon but now, it only slightly bothers her. "Look...Mair." She walked up to him. "We'll get you back to normal, ok? I promise." She placed a hand on his shoulder and gave a light smile.

Myremon silently placed the mask back. "...thanks." He finished clasping, the inky darkness slowly retreating inside the mask, being contained by it. "Thank you, everyone." He turned to Shi. "I don't want people to see me like this. Pity is worse than fear." He opened the mouthpiece again and returned to his meal, now silently. There was so much they needed to do.

Ash

She finished eating rather quickly and got up, leaving the bowl on the table. Without a word, she went to the door and stepped outside. She closed the door behind her and sat on the dry ground beneath her, a piece of roof sticking out protecting her from the rain. The ground near her house was slightly elevated so the rain went downwards instead of pooling up and making the rest of the ground wet. She sighed and spoke to herself. "Stupid. I let my emotions take over. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid." She threw a rock into a puddle. "I can't stay here...I have to go with them..." She smashed the ground with her small hand, the only damage done was to her hand, and she hugs her legs. "They've been so nice to me....and then I just had to go and try to kill one of them because of this stupid curse"

Shi

Shi saw the de- Ash walk outside after eating. Against her better nature she walked outside where she did. She was told the girl was harmless, but Shi was still cautious. She heard the rain hitting on the ground and sat down beside the girl. "Shi sorry for hurting Ash. Demons hurt Shi....long ago. Myremon said Shi was in fear." She flicked tongue out and caught a drop of rain. She saw her hurt knuckles and grabbed her hand. She closed her eyes and healed the wound within a few seconds. She pulled back and looked at Ash, her body tense in case she went to attack. "Shi helped."
