Supreme Overlord
faraine zolas
damn you, crow
Of course, Mikhail responds with more flattery, his air of charisma hardly affected by the bounty hunter's clear disdain. His mention of V willed the woman to glance back over at the white-haired giant before looking back down to the shorter pair. Sh'Kashta's innocent explanation as to why she ended up here with this odd group of people only emphasized her naivety and malleability. Unfortunately, Faraine didn't have time to respond to the young woman as the blonde in front of her deemed it necessary to give her quite the tale of his role in animal conservationism. The smugness Mikhail took on made Faraine's eyes narrow, the giantess not buying it one bit.
What was frustrating, though, was that she had no reason for the distrust, and she knew it. What made her demeanor change, though, was the direct recognition of her trade. His teasing tone was met with a chuckle from Faraine, amusement lighting up her previously stern features. Formerly crossed arms disbanded and fell so that her hands rested upon her hips as she spoke up, "Now, I never said I was honorable." Taking a pause, she used a simple sleight-of-hand trick to make a golden coin seemingly appear out of thin air, deftly spinning it in between her fingers.
"I've learned that coin is as reliable as it gets. Especially when surrounded by fakes." With a knowing smirk, she tossed it in the air, catching it in her palm quickly. "Thankfully, Sh'Kashta has aligned herself with a pair that will steer her the right way.." Golden eyes looked at the trio, hiding her worry for the young sea-dweller and instead deciding to back down, for now. Especially since the previously sunny sky shifted into quite a dark, gloomy atmosphere, the feeling of cold rain hitting her scalp prompting the woman to look up. Faraine frowned, knowing that she would have to retreat below deck to avoid getting absolutely drenched by either the rain or the ever-rising waves that crashed against the wooden boat.
Almost as if on cue, the boat began to rock a little more harshly, forcing the bounty hunter to adjust her footing so that she didn't fall in front of the three acquaintances. The extreme tilt of the boat made her stomach turn, her sensitivity to sea-sickness somehow beating the 'miracle remedy' from Crow's shop. I need a refund from that weird old man when I dock at Altair..
Incoming winds lifted Faraine's dark hair, revealing the multiple charms and beads that adorned the long locks as golden eyes looked over to Sh'Kashta. "I bet you love weather like this, no?" An uncharacteristic inquiry coming from the typically solemn and quiet woman. However, she needed the attention to divert from herself, considering she could feel herself getting dizzier and dizzier by the moment. "I wonder what rare species you will all find in these conditions.." She continued, interested to see what kind of lies would fall out of the human's lips.
