Lawrence hardly stirred in his sleep. He just kept holding onto Perinia.

She opened her eyes, immediately, and slowly sat up. "I know." She sighed softly. "How's your wing?"

"You'd be surprised." Her expression fell as she thought of that moment as the calm before the storm.


 
"Fallen from grace, you say?" Lucinda shook her head and sighed in content, "I think we both know that the day we met I'd been fallen from grace. Seeing as I'd made contracts with both demons from Purgatory, Alabaster and even.. The Further. It was a shame really, you were the one who'd always said: Lucinda, get out there. I know you can do badass things." She then chuckled and turned to face the sky, looking up at the grey cloud covered canopy she hummed softly. "What would be the fun in that? If I killed you both then I wouldn't have had anyone to play with anymore." Her eyebrow twitched, "I'm not your imotou...not anymore. The old Lucinda is gone and a new one has arisen, stronger, faster and a hella lot more badass." She replied before turning back to him, "I do what I wish.. The government asked for my assistance. I am in no way their puppet, Seth."
 
"You had hope then, and you still do now." He said as he crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes. "Even if I have to beat it into you.." He added calmly. "So you wanted to kill my mother? All these students that lay dead in what's now my school?." He said as their faces began swimming in his head, his rage steadily building as he resisted pulling out his katana's.
 
"Mummy would've kicked the dust eventually, I just.. Sped up the process." She shrugged and placed a finger on her chin as if in thought. "The students deaths however.. We're not in my plans. That was a complete accident, I do apologize." She spoke wholeheartedly at that point, but quickly reverted back to her darkly joking self. "And beat hope into me? Hm, have you learned nothing about how people work? You can't beat everything into someone.. It doesn't work that way." Lucinda giggled and patted her hip, soon after a set of chains appeared hooked onto the belt. "If you're really that angry.. Just kill me."

"Well, come on, then," Lawrence said, red-faced.

Perinia left the bed, and looked to Oberon. "Look, you don't have to join me if you don't want to. That goes for you too, Lawrence." She turned back to her boyfriend. "This is voluntary, and you could always run. I won't blame you." Her expression was serious, beyond that.

"Perinia." Lawrence touched his girlfriend's shoulder. "This fight thing is kind of my fault, thanks to the spell thingy. I got us into this, I'll help get us out."

She nodded. "Then let's go." She turned to leave the room, walking past Oberon.

Perinia walked with them, back to the auditorium, ready for a fight. She took the lighter from her pocket and flicked it open, ready to manipulate the flame when necessary.

Lawrence followed her, his green pillow slowly turning into his spear. Oberon spat out the water he had taken a drink of.


"Your pillow....it's...."


"Why are you so surprised?" Lawrence said lazily.
