Futuristic The Vladimir

spaceship_zps366ae3d0.jpg

xxxxPast the darkness of the universe rest faint planets unknown. Glimmering worlds promising hope for a new future to those who could not find it in their own world. That is the goal of the Vladimir - a government ship sponsored by a private party. In its current voyage the crew has set upon a new planet named Alpha-seven; it has similar oxygen and gravity to that on earth, however, it's ecosystems are a little more varied and exotic. If you dare ventured in this quest, may you find the haven you were looking for.

There are several ways in which one may have come upon this story. For most, they have embarked on the Vladimir as primary colonists of the planet. Survival is questionable but a worthy goal. Each equipped with their own skill set that made them worthy of the voyage. For others, they were already on this planet. Perhaps they were hermits and came to live on it alone, perhaps they were abandoned from another failed project. Either way, we're in this all together now.

This is a walk-in roleplay with some permanent characters. You may enter whenever you wish into this web of drama. No steam punk, just good-ol' space technology. You may be whatever species you please so long as no god-moding ensues and it's not based off of another series.

xxxCelcius Vladimirxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ?

"If I could change anything...I think I would start with the name." Celcius mulled under her breath. Her fingers tenderly pulled at the map she laid before her. It was a pixelated map of Alpha-seven, their current location, sprawled in the free space above the simulator in the navigation room. Their little map was mostly black, unmarked territory. Even the government servers could offer little information about the planet other than a lazily done surface survey that helped very little; however, that meant great things for Celcius. It meant new things - new exciting things. She could feel her gears click and clank from excitement under her secondary processing units located on her chest. Their ticking inspired a new name, "Ou, what about Clank? Planet Clank." She paused, her big pale blue eyes pulled themselves from the planet image to search around the room "Do you agree, Ship?"

Her attention flickered back onto the floating model as she pulled her fingers again across the air to zoom onto their location.
"Alright, so maybe Clank was a bit selfish of me. What about...Ethanol?" Her pink lips grinned as she reminisced about her favorite snack. But her head shook itself as she sighed and pushed the smile aside, "Oh ship, you're right. That was terrible. Was it even at least a bit funny?" Another pause from the android before sighing again, "Fine, fine. I'll leave the humour to the organisms. I hate you, Vladimir." The console, in turn, would beep and boop. Celcius would interpret it as an insult and shrug it off before clicking off the map. Her voice cold and she muttered, "Well, if you're gonna be like that, I'm going off to check out the world. I'll see you when your mood has improved." The console beeped again as Celcius left the room.

Her form would prep itself before arriving outside the ship. One hand gripped onto a portable map, ready to update it when the need came. The other hand covered her mouth as she yawned. This was done out of a programed idea of behaviour more than need. Still, she made that sighing sound before coming to lean against the outside of the ship. Her arms crossed before her chest as she clicked on the smaller map. Her mind paced it as she waited for her crew to come about. There was adventure to be afoot and while she appeared bored, the android, internally, was anything but.

LOCATION: Just Outside Vladimir.

WITH: Anyone

OOC:

A figure spooked Celcius "I see you and the ship are doing well Met'va." Ka'is said, as he meandered the loading deck cleaning his energy sabre. "Maybe you could name it after the sound you'll make tripping onto the planet... 'Thuff!" he snickered.

He was adorning armor plating, High tech and custom made. His head obscured by his visor and voice distorted by the communication comm. He looked quite machine like.

He sheathed his blade. "Hello, Ora Ka'is, pleased to make your acquaintance." as he extended his hand.

While her mind pondered the endless joys about to be experienced, another figure entered the scene. It was seemingly unexpected as Celcius's shoulders jumped slightly at the interruption. Her blue eyes turned to glare at the figure. "Glad to see they let the funny ones stay in the back." The android cooed harshly, referring to his position during their flight. With a shrug the woman pushed herself from the ship's side and switched off the map. "But happy to have you here. I'm Celcuis, Captain of the vessel. And I'm guessing you're security." She reached out her hand to meet with the man's and shook it twice before pulling it away. "Any specifications I should know about? I always did like code words." She grinned and clicked on her mini map again.

"That's right!" Ka'is said with a gesture of the thumb "Head of Security and Armory. So anything nasty comes our way, we'll be ready with nice gear."

He gestured to himself "And lucky for such a pretty captain, she has one of the best technosmiths in the sector!"

He unsheathed his Sabre in a flashy style "This blade right here is one of my crafts; designed to melt through the heaviest armors like butter, It can cut through practically any plating. It's also effective in techno cauterization, so any regenerative plating like Nanite and Fluid armor is less effective."

"I also called you a machine one if that's what you're asking"

Ka'is sheathed his sabre and looked at the captain quite intrigued, as though he seemed to take up a slight interest in the lass "OI!!!" A loud high pitched voice came from across the loading bay. Celcius and Ka'is looked in the direction. Not shortly after, Ka'is recieved an airborne kick to the face and was sent reeling back. " YA' BASTARD!! WHERE YA THINK YOU GOIN' WITHOUT ME?" she exclaimed with fury. She then took notice of Celcius and smiled embarrassingly "Sorry that you had to see this."

"Hey Chel"

Celcius fingered her map while keeping an eye on Ka'is. "And so modest. What a lucky captain I am," The android mocked with a smile. Being considered a machine was slightly harsh but she didn't let the comment consume her. Her attention wavered between the map and the man as she mentally sorted where to venture next. There was so much black space she could feel all manner of excitement rise up within her. Oh, she was ready - so ready. And then, like an eruption, her concentration was broken.

"Oi!" The word rang like a hollowing bell through the air as her pale blue eyes gripped back onto her company. An attack had been launched and Celcuis stood with a flat face. Even flatter when the new character addressed her about the incident. In turn, the woman shrugged, "I hate to do this so early but please keep your lovers quarrels for the off-hours. Violence makes me...edgy." She paused and looked away to the distance."So...I'm assuming this is our entire security team for the day? If so, I think we should probably stick to the Elmers today." She noted, examining the sky. It looked like rain today.

"She's not my lover." Ka'is said with a cracked lens on his helmet. He faced towards Chel "Blasted augments, you know you shouldn't just randomly kick people in the face!" Chel retorted "AND YOU SHOULDN'T SET SOMEONE'S ALARM LATE YA GIT!"

Chel was a Six Foot, well built Star Orc with cybernetic legs and compared to the 5"7' stature of Ka'is, you'd swear that he should've been dead with an augmented kick like that. She at least shattered a portion of his helmet.

"It'll take me a couple of hours to fix this you know!" as Ka'is removed his helmet to get a better view due to his optics being damaged

He had some modest features like that of a human face but there were features clearly foreign from being called one. Firstly, he was feathered in places where hair should grow on his head yet at the same time had fur for facial hair. His eyes were silver colored and had large pupils so when he took off his helmet, he had to squint to limit his light intake.

"Oh and By the way, this is my assistant." as he dusted himself off

Celcius watched the little circus with waning interest. They hadn't even left the landing spot yet and the group was already in disarray. Her faith was fading but still, they had to move on; the sky was turning grey. All others whom cared to join them today would have to follow suit. So, with a nod at the two crew members, the android sighed, "Well, glad to see you all are so compatible, but we should get going before you two break more than just a lens." She eyed each carefully before taking a step away. Her attention did linger on the face of Ka'is as he examined his helmet. "Nice feathers." The android noted, sounding sarcastic but actually intending it to be a compliment. While, in truth, Celcius hadn't been expecting a human, she hadn't been expecting tenevian either. Perhaps she should have examined the crew background more carefully but details weren't her interest. They were her navigator's...whom currently was not present. It would appear their journey today would rely solely on her. 'May the stars grant us luck...' The woman mused silently before taking another step away. "So, you two ready to go?"

"Don't worry bout us Cap'n." Ka'is gestured positively "We're right behind you." This was not the start of the day that Ka'is had had in mind so he had to find a way to allay the seemingly annoyed captain. "This our normal dynamic Cap'n so please don't let this hinder future relations" He looked at his assistant "And please try to limit the damages."

"Ya know that I don't try to!" Chel said. "I guess I'll load the supplies all by lonesome." As she saw the clouds darken

"Don't worry you won't." Ka'is reached into his utility belt and removed two rectangular pieces of metal. He took one in each hand and pressed buttons on both. He threw them into the sky and small drones assembled from the boxes in a tiny display of mechanical transformation; each glowing with blue energies. They beeped in recognition of their creator. "Please help my assistant in bringing in my assemblies." And without delay they floated to the young orc's aid. She smiled and headed off.

Ka'is then caught up with Celcius getting on the ship. "Care for to share a drink?"

"That's reassuring." The android answered as her feet tip-toed up the steps of their mini-ship. Commonly it was referred to as a land rover that floated only ten feet above the surface. It was powered by two jets that spat out blue light as they propel the vehicle forward. For now though, it was mindlessly seated a few feet away from Vladimir. The woman hadn't cared to watch the loading of the ship and simply marched up the steps. Her own thoughts consumed by her next task as navigator. It caused her to be slow when responding to Ka'is. So, stumbling over her words, she answered, "Ah, drink? I believe that's not the best of ideas. I need to drive, and you - stars willing - may have to use that saber today." Celcius paused before correcting herself, "I mean your weapon not your, well, reproductive organs. That reminds me, does your species lay eggs? I thought I read that somewhere, and then the male just vomits his genetic material all over the porous membrane of the egg. It sounded messy." She noted still distracted while taking a seat at her Captain's chair. It was more of another topic that came into mind than anything especially curious. She was still mentally deciding if she needed to go west or east. She would try east first. Still, it was polite to talk to your companions she knew so she continued, "Of course, that may have been the daggons. Big universe and all." Her fingers fiddled on her knee as she examined the man's face for a response.

Ka'is laughed so hard that he was shaking all over "Most research on my kind is mainly hogwash, Not many people ever know what a Tenevian actually is and almost never do any of them know what their talking about." Ka'is chuckled with a tear in his eye from the laughter. "And I meant a drink of some relaxing tea." Ka'is patted her head with a jive demeanor. "You seem stressed."

"I'll be in my quarters on the lower deck making my tea. If ya care to join me I won't mind."

To go or not to go, Celcius pondered while watching the figure turn away. There was no harm in following him it seemed, past the fact that she hadn't cared much for tea. Of course, she couldn't ignore the fact that he had just patted his boss on the head like a pet. It had to be addressed. With a cold voice, Celcius called after him, "Just who do you think you rank anyways?" She had risen to her feet and followed him in a huff, "Most captains don't like being petted." Her feet unintentionally followed him all the way down to his cabin in the mini-ship. It would only be a few moments by the time they would fly away from the Vladimir's location and - ideally - arrive at the Elmers. But she had a few important statements to make, "Just how did you get on this crew? I'm starting to doubt your per-requisits." She paused, feeling unfortunate curious, to add "...And just how does your species pro-create?" Still eyeing him suspiciously.

Em ran, her feet pounding the pavement as she clung to the duffle bag holding her worldly possessions. Time had slipped away from her - as it often did when she was wrapped up in a book - and she was hoping beyond hope she wasn't going to miss the launching of the Vladimir. They couldn't very well leave without their newest science officer, now, could they?

"Damn, damn, damn!" she said to herself as she hurried to where the Vladimir was docked. She saw the mini-ship floating next to the Vladimir, and sped up, running as fast as her legs could take her. When she neared the mini-ship, she slowed down just enough to avoid tripping over her own two feet as she dashed up the ramp. Once inside the mini-ship, Em allowed herself a chance to breathe, stopping just outside the entrance to the bridge. She ran a hand through her short red hair, straightened her uniform, and took a deep breath.

"Now, to figure out where to go now," she said as she looked around. "Do I have to check in somewhere or something?"

Outside on the loading deck: "OI!!!" A six foot Star Orc tapped the person on the shoulder with drones over each shoulder lifting Meter by meter cubes with Chel carrying two in one arm "Ya seem lost."

The poor new girl fainted, at the sight of such a gargantuan thing sneaking up on her.

"Oh bloody hell!"

In Ka'is's quarters: Ka'is pours his tea calmly without saying a word and then takes a sip, sitting and listening to some flute music and overall relaxing "That is some good tea." Ka'is faces his clearly annoyed captain "Well I'll answer the question about my credentials but I do believe one shouldn't ask such rude things about one's procreations." He makes a sarcastic face looking the captain plainly. "I am the among the best technosmiths in the sector but when it comes to weapons and armor, there is no one better than me." Ka'is picked up and tossed her his holo-folio. "It's all there, All my credentials, everything. 30 pages of feats, crafts and references, but my biggest reference is the one called Ver'Vean. He is my master."

Ka'is wasn't one that liked to be challenged on the extent of his abilities so this pryful captain was quite a bother. It said so on his face. "It's not like I just walked onto this sh-"

A blue light shined from the side of his head in an ear piece comm and gave a slight noise. He picked up the comm "What is it?"

"Sir a girl fainted I'm headed up with her and the last of our supplies."

"Okay Bring her to med bay." Ka'is closed the comm and looked to the captain "We got someone."

Celcius watched his answer through a keen stare. The whole concept of navigation was erased from her mind as she took it all in. She caught the holo-folio he threw without error and quickly started skimming through it. It was more as to fulfill her angry bluff than to check anything. Still, flick, flick she went. Her finger dragged along the light surface as she listened. Her pink lips were about to spurt a long-winded rant about respect when the call came in. It would appear their conversation had evolved onto something entirely different and so she hopped to it. Her hands moved from their judgmental stance on her hips to her sides as she paced out of the room. "Alright." She stated. Her feet tapped through the empty stairs as she marched to the med bay. Her eyes were careful to keep each step level so she never faltered. With time, she arrived onto the scene curious as to who was there.

"I'll be here if ya need me!" He exclaimed after her. Now that she was out and he was finished with his tea he started on repairing his helmet and set up shop

He looked around the room for a couple box drones. "I could have sworn I put them around here" he puzzled. He looked under his bed and there were five rectangular pieces. He picked two of them up and activated them. When they finally assembled he ordered "Alright lads, Drone 23; Go to the docking bay and Get me (pausing to look at his holo wrist) 1 Storage Cube from box 5-13, code 1134, 1st set: House repair kit please and Drone 46, Please give the Cap'n this" he said, handing the drone a martini glass of Honey-Narang juice with a cherry skewer and a note that said "Drink me :P ! No Alcohol". A few beeps of acknowledgement later, the drones went to work.

He took his helmet and laid it on the floor and started to disassemble it for replacement parts. "Chel... you are a pain in my ass."

Celcius had arrived at the med bay but soon lost interest when the mini-ship spoke to her. It confirmed that the Vladimir was in position. "Already? I guess this is it." She whispered to the ship. Her feet tenderly turned on their heels before slipping away into the hall. Now she was on a mission and her mind was again clouded by the struggle of navigation. The ship cheered her on with each step as she felt her gears click with passion. She could do this. This was her. It was all her. "Oh yeah baby," She uncharacteristically whispered to herself as she entered the navigation room. With a huff, the woman plotted down in her Captain's chair and steadied her hands on the controls. She could feel the mini-ship's pulse under her finger tips. They beckoned her to move. Taking in a deep breath, Celcius flicked on the loudspeaker. "Welcome crew," She began. Her voice was confident and proud. "On the count of three, we're going to take off. It will take five minutes to reach the Vladimir in the outer orbit, at which point we'll lock into in and be propelled into space. Enjoy the ride." With a beep the loud speaker was shut off and Celcius was left alone.

"One..." Her cogs clicked and the ship started to rise from the ground. "Two..." The mini-ship tilted backwards as it slowly spiraled up, "Three." A breath was taken and then, pulling her fingers forward, the ship flung forward. While they raced through the sky, the internal of the ship barely changed, such was the benefit of technology. Thus, a small droid was able to buzz its way around to the androids side and offer her the present. With a sly grin, she took it. "That smug bastard." The woman noted as she swung the drink back and replaced it on the tray. "Tell him thanks. And that I want him ready in two hours for landing." The woman waved away the droid and continued to scoot the ship forward.

With sometime, they reached their destination. Ten loud bangs sounded in concert as the mini-ship locked into the the Vladimir. Vladimir was large, much too large for the hanger they had just come from. It needed its size to get them to the far corners of the galaxy they often traveled to. And thus, the mini-ship was just another part of it - or 'him' really. And so it's AI spoke through its circuits. The mini-ship was its heart. And so, with heart in tact, the Vladimir burst through space as auto-pilot took control. Celcius, in turn, slept.

----------------------------------------

After two hours of mindless travel, the Vladimir came to a stop on the orbit of Alpha seven.

From Orbit of Alpha Seven: "Well I'm done and just in time" noting the arrival at Alpha Seven after making a more permanent settlement on the armory deck of the Vladimir . He fastened his helmet to his head and activated another storage cube to equip a different set of armor. As he put on this new set he notified Chel "Hey we're here go up to the armory bay to get ready."

"Aye aye, I'm goin', I'm goin'!" Chel reported from the lower decks. "And I want that full maintenance report when you get here.""Tosser."

Ka'is cut off the comm with a small laugh. He thought
"Hmm... maybe I should go down to navigation, The cap'n should be there if i'm not mistaken." But he decided not to do that since they were in orbit and needed to do some debriefing. He activated 8 box drones, and ordered to "Tell everyone aboard to gather in the armory bay for tech briefing and armory requisitions in 4 hours"

He liked that he got to do some sprucing up in the armory before they go to the planet's surface. He got to rearrange the place to not only have more room to test his weapons but also room to add modification stations around the place.
"Oh!" he remembered "I'll have to get everyone fitted (^.^)...

('
:| )...

(-A-)
"SHIT!"

Ka'is had to prepare fast because now he has to explain why half the standard armory got scrapped and what he was going to replace it with. But four hours with a workshop he can masterfully use can craft better stuff. He laughed... "
The Cap'n will love this."

He Got on the comm again "Hey Chel, I'm gonna need you for demonstration of a new feature of the armory. Just to make sure it works."

Em listened as the captain's voice came over the ship's speaker system, welcoming them and letting them know how long it'd take to get to the Vladimir. She figured it was a safe bet to make her way to the crew lounge, if there was one on this ship. She'd been on countless ships and mini-ships in her life, and it seemed like every one of them was laid out differently. She looked around, shrugged her shoulders, and started off down the hallway to her left - it was as good a direction as any.

"OOOOOOIIII!!!!!" a high pitched voice came blaring down the hallway. Chel had seen Em and decided to run towards em with a smile on her face.

Em couldn't even react fast enough as the star orc picked her up in a massive hug. Em's face being pressed against Chel's enormous DD breasts forcefully in a hug that she couldn't really get out of.
"I'm sorry if I spooked ya down there!" not letting go yet of her prisoner within her jigglejoggers.

"Oh I guess I overdid it a bit." Chel noticing Em's inability to get out. She let go, dusted her off, and gave her the stuff that she dropped.

"So where ya goin'?" she asked

Em wheezed as she was squeezed into a bear hug by Chel, then almost plopped on the floor when the big star orc set her down. She wobbled for a moment, dazed, then took her duffle bag from Chel when she handed it to her.

"Oh, I was looking for the crew lounge. Figured I'd Park myself there until we got to the Vladimir." She held a hand out to Chel in greeting. "Name's Em. This is my first assignment with the Vladimir."

"Oh Cripes I fo'got again." Chel just remembered. "Sorry about not tellin' ya who I am." She gripped the hand held out so tenderly. Chel thought this girl had silky hands.

She then made a pose and gestured her thumb at herself
"The name's Chel." She looked at her Holo-list on her wrist "And I have some maintenance checks to do in the crew lounge. So I can getchya there in a jiffy." She had signaled Em to follow her if she was interested.

Chel felt nice making a new friend. She looked at Em and gave her an innocent smile, it made her lower canines show even more.

Em nodded and followed the star orc as she led the way to the crew lounge. So far, she had a feeling that this assignment would be... interesting. After ending up almost missing the mini-ship that would take them to the Vladimir, then getting bear-hugged by a star orc, she was curious to see where the rest of this journey would take her. 'No matter what, it's gotta be better than what I left behind,' she thought to herself.

"So how'd you end up on this ship?" Em asked Chel, curious about her new crewmate's origins.

"Ya wanna know?" Chel looked ad the tiny human with a grin. "Well I just got on it." she snickered. She knew that the explanation was more than lackluster, she just wanted to look like a smart-ass. "But as of tha matta of me gettin' on this expedition, I thought it was like anyone else here... And that's all I'm gonna say." (<_<)(>_>)(-n-)...

(>n<)... she can't hold back stuff she wants to ask
"Umm... did someone ask ya to come on this crew, or did you just volunteer?" She asked out of her own curiosity.

Em snorted at Chel's sassiness, then responded. "I saw that the crew needed a scientist, and I've got the experience and nowhere better to be, so I figured, why not?" Em eyed Chel suspiciously. "Any problems with that?" Em sincerely hoped she hadn't walked into something crazy. She saw an ad looking for a science officer for a colonization mission. She wanted to get as far away as she could from anything tying her to her family. She hoped that the mission to Alpha-7 was just a straightforward colonization thing, a chance for her to start completely fresh...
