Fantasy The Underworld

Vara

Things erupted into even more chaos as the two woman rushed to help her. Leonere climbed over the stools to make sure the man didn't drag her off feet, by holding a piece of glass to his neck and digging her sharp fingernails on his arm. Vara wasn't sure how that would affect him, but it appeared that he was subdued more or less for now, and for that she was grateful. The other lady was angry at how harsh Leonere was, and yelled at her to hold him down without injuring him. He was only an innocent, she claimed. Then, after warning everybody of the danger in the bar, she went behind Vara and there came lots of assorted noises. Vara turned her head to try and see behind her, curious what the other lady was doing. The blonde, in a flurry of motion, got out what appeared to be a stake and ran over to the old looking man and from his sharp teeth that he barred at her, a vampire. Almost in slow motion, Vara witnessed her diving it into the vampire, blood spurting a tiny bit onto the vampire's jacket. Vara couldn't help but chuckle to herself. That sight of surprise in the monster's eyes and the injury it had just received was sight never to be forgotten.

When the man squeezed her wrists again, Vara realized how weak and stupid she was being. Even when her one arm was unavailable, she could still reach a stake from her belt or a gun from her back pocket. She had froze up once more. What a moron she could be. Vara reached with her right arm to get a good old sharp stake, when the blondie stated the obvious; he was hypnotized and couldn't control himself. She was still very tempted to shot him now anyhow, but she relaxed and let her right arm instead help Leonere pry him off her other arm. As they worked together, Vara heard a screech from behind them that sounded like a cat being tortured. No, more like a chalkboard being scratched with a tortured cat. She looked to see what in the world was going on once more. With steely eyes, the blonde had dug the stake in the stomach, spurting more blood in various directions. When his eyeball got popped, Vara winced very slightly, pretty use to the gore. She was more satisfied then anything else.

“I am liberated!”

Great, now let's just "liberate" the rest of your kind. Before she could see anything more, she turned her attention to her own problem. As Leonere gave her a frustrated and pleading glance, Vara gave a small nod and worked on getting his hairy arm off. With the two of them with their combined strength and focus, the man wasn't much of a problem anymore. Towards the end, the man started to lose his grip and slump over, making it even easier to get him off. With a final tug, he flew back inside the bar area, all fight gone. Vara let out of huge sigh of relief that she was finally free of his grasp. Her arm was covered in bruises in the shape of his huge hand. She rubbed it gently, thinking about how brutal even the hypnotized pawns of vampires could be. What an exciting night it had turned out to be. Perhaps now, when she went too bed she wouldn't have to feel guilty her hunting status, although she had froze up. Glancing at the grimy window, she saw there wasn't much night to sleep away.

Vara turned away from the bar, stood up, and said, "Thank you guys for your help. Wasn't exactly expecting that one to go down right them. I admittedly froze up like an idiot too. Do you think there will be anymore?"

"Oh, and what's your name, great hunter? Are you part of any organization?" She inquired, turning her head to the blood soaked Charlotte.

The bar had seen better days. Stools were overturn, blood was all over the area by where the vampire had been killed dramatically, and the bartender was out trashing around in a daze, muttering things to himself. Even though the threat had been cleared there was still a weird and ominous feeling in the entire bar, almost as if somebody was watching the entire scene. They might have some cleanup to do. Vara was glad that this night wasn't entirely boring after all.

Paige

Paige blushed when Blake asked about her photography. "You could say that," she smiled her cheeks crimson. "A lot of these were for school projects but it's a hobby as well." She laughed, "I never leave home without my camera," she told him sending the picture to his phone and deleting it from her camera. She was glad that someone was keeping it, at least it wasn't going to be erased forever. Letting anyone see her pictures always made her nervous but she knew she needed to get past that if she ever hoped to become a wildlife photographer. Someday she dreamed her pictures would be in magazines and books around the world. It was true the world had gone to hell but that didn't mean you had to stop living or dreaming.

She was feeling brave after Blake had seen the picture of his Lycan form, so she handed him her camera so he could flip through the different pictures. "Take a look if you want, it's good practise for me to have someone see them. Someday I want to travel to other countries and photograph different animals. Maybe my pictures could get published." It sounded a little silly to her to say it out loud when it seemed like animal pictures was the last thing the world needed in it's current state, but it was her normal, her way of staying sane in a world that did it's best to make you go insane.

"Umm do you have a blanket?" she asked him yawning, "I'll just have a nap on the couch until it's safe to walk home." She curled up on the comfy couch glad to no longer be in danger.

Blake Audric

Lycan

Blake smiled at her, noticing the way her cheeks blushed and finding it rather cute. He was surprised when she handed him the camera but he couldn't say that he wasn't curious about her other pictures. He nodded, accepting the camera from her hands and began to sift through the pictures. He saw various photos of all different kinds of animals as well as ones of nature and landscape. There were even a couple of her in her bikini and he smiled a little, enjoying the pictures, as he found them sexy. "This one's my favorite," he said amusingly as he showed her a picture of her in a bright red bikini. Chuckling to himself, he found that his gaze lingered on the ones that she managed to take of wolves. Not lycans, but just normal wolves. When he was done, Blake handed the camera back to her, his green eyes filled with appreciation. "Those pictures were amazing. A publisher would be crazy not to print these," he told her.

When she asked for a blanket and said that she was going to sleep on the couch, he shook his head as he stood up from his couch. "No it's okay, you can sleep on my bed for tonight. I'll take the couch," he insisted. Blake knew that as a host, it was simple manners to give the guest the bed and for him to take the lesser way of sleeping. "Trust me, it'll be fine." He smiled, starting to make his way towards his room.

Mayumi:

Anyone who assumed that spell-casting was done over tea and crumpets had certainly lost their collective marbles and Mayumi had indeed confirmed this fact after countless hours of useless perusal over ancient tomes and various artifacts which had been produced before mortals had roamed the Earth. Mayumi had gone through countless spell after spell after spell and was on the verge of giving up and thrusting herself headfirst into the danger that was this woman she had had the honour to confer with at the mansion. She perched upon a dusty seat before placing her head in her hands and groaning in sheer frustration, this had been fruitless and Mayumi was certainly not going to cry, she was not. The book had been passed down through several generations, used often despite handless magic being discovered, it was her responsibility and she had all but gone and lost it. Sighing, Mayumi wondered if she would be able to take advice from another witch of her kind, it certainly seemed like a good idea.

Hours of hard work translating the tome paid off in the end, Jon had found the book which was called

Umbra Animalis Sanguine which was a rather ancient book of reference on the vampire myth written during the rule of Emperor Augustus. The find had proven to be rather useful as the book contained several hints towards possible locations of vampire covens in Europe and Asia Minor, as Augustus himself ordered a mass culling of the vampire dens throughout the empire due to suffering the lose of a legion in Galatia to a series of vampire attacks. This suggested that although the culling was mainly successful. It also made the remaining vampire survivors flee into the furthest reaches of the empire, even spreading to the Middle East which could've been why his squad was massacred in Kuwait by an unknown Vampire. Many records regarding this particular part of history was burnt upon the insistence of Emperor Augustus, any soldiers who were involved were either bribed or met an end upon the knives of Augustus's men. However a lone record of this event survived the ages, passing through various owners before ending up in private collectors house in Brookyln. Conveniently Jon managed to get ahold of the book via good ol' fashioned burglary... He'd return the book after translating it into English of cause, after all knowledge like this was increasingly hard to get nowadays.
