Fantasy The Spirit Inside ~ Forest and Village

Btiske, Stupid! The Palsiet thought to himself as he entered the tavern to the others, could he really trust flint with this?Would he tell Belisair? what would happen if he could not hold him back again? Would so many lives be lost that Kyngerz would finally lose himself to the madness that ensued?
Yesssss, doubt yoursssself Kyngerz Plagkets, oh mighty ssssslayer of the great ice dragon Fer^Thung. your liessss consssume you as you consumed me and both wisssssh to break free.

The voice echoed inside his mind as he hesitated to enter the tavern, he shook it off and pushed open the door to enter, he took a mental note of who was there and moved to a table near the back, ordering a drink and taking out his books to create notes on what happened today.
Flint jumped at the sight of Kyngerz entering the inn. The crow bent his head down in discomfort. The Palsiet's demeanor made the bird skittish causing him to twiddle his wings. Kyngerz sat down on a table in front of the bird and pulled out his notebook. 'What was he writing?' the bird wondered. Flint fidgeted his legs, trying to fine some form of comfort but to no avail. He had to leave! Anywhere would do. Anywhere away from Kyngerz presence. Flint shuffled his talons to the exit.

Flint left the town and wandered into the forest. The sun had set as guilt burden the crows heavy heart. He passed a tall tree and looked up to see his best friend Belisair perched on top in deep thought. Nearly calling out to the Sylph, Flint immediately muzzled his mouth with his wings.

Delacare said:
"Flint you are mine. I don't know what you are, but you are MINE. Every part of me, both halves of me, hell even every breeze I sense you in tells me that you are mine. My friend, my ward, my child, my responsibility: JUST MINE! No matter what I do, and no matter where I go, you will be there with me. If I am to help you, you must let me help you. You must give me your troubles and your pain, your hopes and aspirations, your woes and fears so that we can face them all together."
Flint remembered these words. He wanted to talk to his friend about the turmoil bombarding his head. The bird was in so much mental anguish. Flint need Belisair, now! But he promised Kyngerz!

'Damn it!" the bird screamed in his head, 'I want to tell you everything Belisair. All about my fears and woes. They're eating away at me. Its like I'm dying from the inside. My hearts about to break... I- I- want you to fight them with me! I want us to be together forever. I want to be YOURS! But- I just CAN'T! I'm sorry Belisair! The gods know how sorry I am! Forgive me... "

With tears in his eyes, the bird left his best friend and traveled deeper into the forest.

Flapping his wings to forget his troubles, Flint decided it was time for him to fly. He leaped into the air and fluttered his wings. In an instant, the bird collapsed to the ground. He could not escape the harsh decision he now faced.

"Damn my life!"

Flint, with all his might, swung his wings and zoomed up into the crisp cool air. He was flying! He had finally freed himself from the last remaining hindrances the wizard had inflicted on him. He happily landed back down to the earth, knowing what he must do.

"I'll tell him," Flint said. "If I word it correctly, Belisair will not be angry with Kyngerz. I can do this. I can save our team!"

Suddenly Flint felt sharp teeth digging into his feathers. His weapon, given to him by Belisair, slipped out of its holster and uselessly lay on the dry dirt. The crow looked up at his attacker. It was the one eyed Alpha seeking his revenge!

The one eyed Alpha's mouth dripped the blood of the injured crow and mixed with the wolf's own poisonous saliva. Its vengeance was about to be complete. All the animal needed was Kyngerz to take the bait. The wolf winced at the sharp prick from the bird's beak. The crow had bit the wolf by its nose. With the Alpha's jaws loosening, the bird squeezed out and flew into the air. In a flash, the Alpha used a tree trunk to spring high enough to catch the fleeing bird in mid-flight. Throwing the bird to the ground and using his paw to hold him down, the alpha took up one of the bird's wings into his mouth and broke it.

"You damn BASTARD!" the crow said, screaming in pain.

Seizing the wailing bird by his torso, the one eyed Alpha used his claws to draw on the ground.

'
Come alone murderer or I will kill your friend,' it read.

The Alpha drew an arrow pointing in the direction the wolf was planning to take Flint. It stopped ever so often to leave another arrow mark. The two murderers would be dead by morning.

The palsiet stopped writing mid sentence, something was wrong, very very wrong. He looked around the tavern counting his affiliates all where the except the crow, he knew that Bel would be fine as the young sylph had the power of the zephyr with him, but the crow was just learning to use his weapon, he was not strong enough to face a foe.

The palsiet packed his things hastily and rushed out of the tavern, images of all the allies he couldn't save running though his mind. He would save this crow, he needed to to secure friendships.

The palsiet stopped running, looking at the message on the ground with the arrows and the prints of the alpha wolf, he muttered curses in palset and followed them, drawing his sword and a throwing axe the voice in his head whispering once again.

Releasssssse me and I ssssshall sssssave him

Releasssse me and I will sssssaaave them all

In spite of the innumerable misfortunes given to him by the wizard, Flint had never been truly afraid. The anger in him masked that emotion. But not any more. Flint was truly afraid, not just for his own safety; he was frightened of the thought that he might not see his friends again. The animals he shared his incarceration with had never truly been his buddies. Their only thing in common was the desire to escape.

The pain in the bird's broken wing was excruciating, becoming worse with each step the Alpha made. Its teeth prodded Flint's back and a stinging green fluid, coming out of the wolf's mouth, made the crow nauseous. How could it have survived, didn't Kyngerz kill all the wolves? Flint assumed he had. Why was the wolf keeping him alive? Kyngerz! The wolf wanted Kungerz dead too! That's what all the writing was about. This wolf could read and write.

"Hey!" the crow wailed. "Stop toying around! Just kill me already."

The wolf paused to scribble another arrow. Enunciating slowly in his thick wolf accent so the bird could understand, he barked out, 'Not yet. Your friend will come for you and once I have him in my reach, I will rip out his heart. I will lay it down before your crippled body and devour it whole! After this is done you will die. That, I promise you crow. My son's soul, who you killed, will soon rest easy. The death of your friend will appease my family. You and that other monster took them away from me. My love ones died because of you two! I am alone because of you murderers. But not for long. I will die in peace once it's all over. I will be with my family and friends again.'

Flint felt tears falling from the wolf face. The crow had understood the entire speech. It resumed its quick passed journey.

'For the gods' sake Kyngerz,' Flint thought. 'Do not follow me! I don't want you to die.'

Flint words were useless. He knew, in his heart, that the Palsiet was on his way to ready for battle. So was the wolf...

Belisair had been sitting in that tree for suprisingly long time. He wasn't all there. His mind had left his body and joined the wind. He was so far gone that he didn't even notice Flint lookinh up at him, or the crows capture at the wolf's hand ,or jaws.

The wolf halted. He was almost at his destination. Making one last arrow mark on the ground, he scratched out the words 'Leave all your weapons and armor here'. The one-eyed Alpha strod forward. They entered a clearing with an old stone gladiator ring in the center. Loose tablets popped out of the uneven battle ground. The wolf walked to the opposite side of the ring and hid himself in a bush. His muscles tightened up. Its ears scanned for movement. Its nose sniffed for a scent. If the murderer tried to use stealth, the Alpha would snap the crows body in two. A one-on-one battle with an unarmed enemy was the only chance the wolf had of winning. The poison had made the one-eyed Alpha weak but it could be used as an advantage. A single bit might infect the warrior, slowly killing him.

"You'll loose," the bird squawked.

Dropping the annoying bird on the ground, the wolf broke the crow's other wing.

"Damn YOU!" Flint sobbed.

'Your friend will not have weapons or armor,' the wolf growled slowly in his animal speech. 'I made sure of that. It will even the odds a bit. And with the poison, you inflicted me with, I will win no matter what happens to me. The venom's already inside of you, little one. You'll feel it soon enough.'

Flint scoffed at the wolf. Belisair had potions that could heal the bird. He must have some spell for poison. And even if he didn't, Lena said she had her own healing ability. But that would be useless if the Palsiet lost.

'Bet him Kyngerz,' the crippled bird whispered, 'Please don't die!'

The wolf grabbed the crow and waited for the enemy to appear.

Lena was quietly sitting in her room, practicing her telekinesis, like she always did when she was alone. Thw bed that she was on lifted a bit from the ground, but soon fell down, as Lena got up from it, and exited her room calmly. She decided to maybe eat something from the Inn. She slowly proceeded there

The palsiet followed the arrows, the strange voice still echoing in his head

The bird will die

and you will take the blame

unlesssss you releasssse me

Kyngerz stared at the the final words of the wolf, to abandon his armor and his weapons would be his last task before the fight and so he stripped down to his tunica and leggings staring at the sword muttering "Chevessty be est (gods be with me) under his breath as he entered the ruined arena, his hands open to show he was unarmed.

Little did the wolf know that much of the ice magic rested within the palsiet, and this would not be as fair a fight as his advisary had previously thought.

Little did the wolf know that much of the ice magic rested within the palsiet, and this would not be as fair a fight as his advisary had previously thought.

The wolf's eye flickered at the thought of his life ending in peace. His towering enemy was finally before him, stripped of his weapons and armor. He would soon be free.

"Kyngerz!" shouted Flint in frustration. "Why did you have to come? The wolf's teeth, they're poison. Don't let it bite you! Just leave, Please!"

With the bird still in its mouth, the one-eyed Alpha growled at him. 'Shut up you stupid bird! Let him know why I want to battle him before I let your foul body go.'

Flint, exhausted from the pain, explained to the Palsiet, "Kyngerz. The- the wolf wants revenge for us killing his pack... Don't fight with it. Go back to Belisair. It's better that you survived than both of us dying to together. Keep the Sylph safe!"

The Palsiets face remained expressionless as he reached into his pouch and took out a blot of charcoal, he drew three triangles around his left eye, two over the brow and one below before he dropped it onto the ground, dust flying up.

"Very well, I have come and met your terms to this battle and we shall fight, but I ask you Uoyst if you have come to die then so be it, but if you wish to live, then drop my friend, turn your tail and run until you can run no more, and fear the day that I find you, for unlike you, I will not die as easily." the palsiet said, his stance remaining casual as he saw no need to change it. The wolf would take this as an opportunity to kill his adversary.

Flint felt the wolfs jaw's beginning to loosen.

The wolf payed no heed to the Palsiet's words, the Alpha knew the poison would be fatal. There was no turning back. Seeing the Palsiet painting his face, the animal knew this was its opportunity to kill him while he was sitting down. But why should the bird live to see his savior's death. The crow had served its purpose.

*SNAP!*

The bird's limp body fell from the mouth of the wolf. Blood dripped from his feathers, forming a red pool where he lay. The crow's back was contorted with a shattered bone sticking out of it. His eyes were motionless with no sign of life in them. A blank look covered his still face. There was only on answer... Flint crow had die!

The wolf lounged at his final foe.

(Fight hard Kyngerz! Do not hesitate. Kill the wolf!)

NO! the words did not escape from Kyngerz mouth as his eyes widened in the disbelief of his dead friend. Time seemed to slowdown as the palsiets pupils shifted from circles to slits, a long blue forked tongue poked through the small gap between his teeth as the world around him became cold. Icy scales grew out of thin air coating the Palsiet as he batted the wolf out of mid air sending it flying into a nearby wall, crumbling and collapsing onto the wolf.

"You jusssssssst sssssssssealed your fate you wretch, many will die becaussssssssse of what you have done." The palsiet spoke, his voice slowly changing and no longer fully his own

The paralyzed wolf looked up at the powerful enemy, seeing his eerie transformation. What had the one-eyed Alpha released?!

A blizzard formed almost instantly across the land covering the forest and town of thoranhall in a blanket of snow, the blizzard faded and the palsiet was gone, replaced by a dragon made purely of ice larger than a mountain, he chuckled his deep serpentine voice bellowing loud enough for all to hear, the wyvern stared down with its massive eyes at the wolf "It sssssseemssss you made quite a missssstake assss you are doomed do fail in killing the kingsssss plague. But I am sssssso rude, I mussssst introduce mysssssself" The Dragon mused, mimicking the noble introduction of the palsiet "I am Fer^Thung the Bane of Palsiet, destroyer of the 'mighty' Sylph race, Master of all that is ice, and you ssssssshould be rewarded assss you managed to break the old palsssssietssss will, which getsssss easssssier asss he agessssss. But the only reward I have for you isssssss death" the dragon snapped up the wolf with his huge maw, the wolf being lost in a mixture of ice and teeth.

Looking out the window of the Inn, Lena noticed something.. Awkward.... A snow has started to fall, covering the grass with it's white flakes. She stood up, a bit suspiciously eyeing the surroundings, before making her way out of the Inn. She looked at the sky

"How is that possible? It was sunny just a bit ago" Lena stated quietly, her hair slowly getting covered in snow flakes.

He cried as he mourned the loss of his closest friend and a loss of a part of himself. He felt empty and lacking; Flint was missing from within him.

The tears weren't enough he need more. So he turned to his only other companion, the wind.

"Zephyr what do I do? I can't live without him. What do I do?!?"

"Rage!"

So Belisair did. The wind crashed down around him as he created enough force to draw the clouds from the sky. Belisair wasn’t furious. He had become fury. This was true anger. The wind became vicious blades slicing snowflakes in half, and brutal mitts that tore stone from their groundings and flinging them in any direction. The arena had become an extremely localized hurricane, and at its eye stood Belisair. He was standing in a circle of calm, not a single hair out of place, looking as if he was being graced with a simple breeze.

“Zephyr make the pain go away. Make it stop. It hurts so much. I’m dying inside. Please.”

Sylph tears were not water, they were motes of lights. He cried a night full of stars. It was beautiful and terrifying, for Sylphs rarely cried. There was a myth that the fresh tears of a Sylph foretold great destruction and suffering, as if creating such tears was a crime against the Gods.

“I cannot end this pain. You must fill the gap; cover the pain. If you bath in the misery of those around you, then your own pain will be bearable. SHARE YOUR PAIN!”

This wasn’t the wind he usually sensed as Zephyr. This was something, someone, else. This voice spoke truth though; this pain shouldn’t be his alone. The world must know this sadness, know this pain. He would share it with everyone. Starting with

“The Scourge of the Elemental Fae, the Frozen Traitor, Rapist of Aer, and the Sylph’s End, Fer^Thung.”

{Oh crap!}

Something wasn't right, something drew Lila from her nap before she was quite ready to wake. Something in the air tasted stale and bitter, and very cold. The Yuan-ti stretched and rose slowly from her bed, she glanced out the window and stopped. Snow covered everything, as if a blizzard had suddenly appeared from no where. It had not been cold enough for such weather earlier, Lila was almost sure of that. She stood there, confused as she stared out the window.

The skies had darkened further out over the forest, and there seemed to be a whirlwind of sorts in that direction. Lila didn't think it likely that it was Belisair creating such a destructive gale, but he was a creature of the wind. Frowning a bit the Yuan-ti stepped from the window, she washed her face and hands, stretched a bit and then stepped out of the room almost cautiously. Lila made her way down stairs to the Inn proper, green eyes looking around, looking for Belisair.

She frowned deeply when she didn't see the Sylph anywhere, and hesitantly she moved towards the door. Stepping outside into the snow, Lila shivered, but she wasn't alone. Lena was here, and Lila moved closer to that girl, a purple scaled hand reaching out to gently, but hesitantly, take Lena's hand in a loose grip as Lila stared at the sky off in the distance. Something bad was happening.
"L-Lena...Do you know what's happening?" Her voice was nearly a whisper.

The behemoth of ice chuckled, rather unfazed by the release of power from zephyr "Quite charming thessssse Titlessss, sssso what will you do now zephyr? you would have thissss sssssylph boy face me? You know I decimated his folk and would eassssssily remove him from thisssss world assssswell do you not? You are a fool Zephyr, and have alwayssssss been one." the dragon taunted, his huge scaly tail gliding over the tops of the trees, tearing out any that where too long and dragging them across the woods.

Lena shivered a bit, as she felt something gently wrap around her hand. She looked at Lila, and smiled a bit

"I have absolutely no idea..." She exclaimed, looking back at the sky, with a worried expression

(You should all be able to see Fer^Thung from the town, he is the size of a mountain as dragons grow with age and he is older than Kyngerz)
