Fantasy The Spirit Inside ~ Forest and Village

The behemoth of ice chuckled, rather unfazed by the release of power from zephyr "Quite charming thessssse Titlessss, sssso what will you do now zephyr? you would have thissss sssssylph boy face me? You know I decimated his folk and would eassssssily remove him from thisssss world assssswell do you not? You are a fool Zephyr, and have alwayssssss been one." the dragon taunted, his huge scaly tail gliding over the tops of the trees, tearing out any that where too long and dragging them across the woods.
Belisair simply cocked his head to the side as the dragon spoke. It was quite the hideous beast. Belisair was truly puzzled.

"You seek a battle? Why? I will not face you in combat lowly wurm. I merely wish for you to share in my torment. Surely you could understand that."

The sylph rose into the sky until he was face to face with the primal monstrosity. Such size was unnecessary. Gathering several tears, Belisair flung them over the dragon's snout at looked on as they sank beneath his scales.

"Will you not enjoy this suffering alongside me?"

(That's a good point.)

Lila stared hard in that direction, something was moving it was far away, and yet the Yuan-ti could see it almost easily. Strange she hadn't noticed it first, for it was huge. Her hand tightened around Lena's as she lifted her other and pointed towards the dragon. Lila had never seen a dragon before, and she wasn't sure what she was seeing now, but it was cold, colder than the snow they stood on. Colder than the coldest night she'd ever experienced, and for a creature close to reptiles, cold was a scary thing.

"W-what...what is that..?" She glanced at Lena's face, though still pointing to the dragon with her other hand. She wanted to seek out Belisair, he would know what to do, he would know how to protect them from such a large entity. Wouldn't he? But Lila wasn't sure where he was. Could he really be already there with that dragon? The wind was going into a frenzy in that area, trees bowing and bending, and others apparently ripped out of the ground by the monstrous creature itself. "Lena, where is Belisair?" Lila's tone had changed with that question, her pointing hand had lowered as well after pointing out the dragon. Lila's tone was one of worry and seriousness.

@JJKab
Lena looked at the dragon, as her expression changed into a bit of a frightened one

"Uhm... I don't know, Lila... Didn't see him in a while... And about this creature... I'm afraid it's a dragon" She said, looking a bit worriedly at her.

"What do you want to do?" She asked, hoping secretly that she wouldn't want to go towards the dragon

The dragon chuckled as the water sank underneath its scales "You are a fool to think that I would be hurt by water, much more to think that something so puny could cause me pain. You never really listened to that old heathens words now did you? He said something quite interesting and important as I recall, and he stole my power, my soul to bend at his will, though he was weak and his pain released me oh so many times, you may as well blame him for the annihilation of your kind, as he was the one who could not control his own rage." the dragon laughed, his booming voice echoing over the forest as he looked towards the small town, his eyes staring at Lila "Ahhh, so you have a Yuan-ti to protect? I shall show you true pain"

Lila shivered when the creature was named a dragon, she had heard tales of dragons, most were not happy stories. She didn't want to go towards it, she didn't want to get near that thing, but somehow in her heart she felt that Belisair was there. "Belisair might be there." Her heart had already started beating faster in her chest, and she inhaled deeply, as if to steel her nerves. However there was no guarantee that Belisair was there, no evidence, the only thing Lila had to go on was a gut feeling and instinct, both of which could be very wrong.

She licked her lips slightly and shivered again, the wind tasted bitter and salty, like tears. Lila grit her teeth, and let go of Lena's hand. The wind was only different when Belisair was involved, Lila had learned that already, the thought that another could be as closely connected to the wind as the Sylph and affect it similarly never occurred to the Yuan-ti. If the wind tasted, even smelled like this, then it must mean that something was happening with Belisair. Didn't it? Such a thing made sense in Lila's mind.
"The air tastes, sad, cold but very sad."

Then that dragon was looking at her. Right at her. She could feel it's icy gaze, and she didn't like it at all. A violent shiver ripped through her, as if someone had just dumped ice on her head, and then she started running. Lila ran towards the forest and dragon and what she hoped was Belisair.

Lena shrieked a bit, when Lila started running towards the forrest

"Lila, Wait!" She yelled, as she ran after her, trying to stop her

Lila glanced over her shoulder at Lena as she ran. "No...go back, Lena." The Yuan-ti attempted to run faster, she wouldn't be able to protect Lena, she couldn't even protect herself, but if Belisair was hurting, if he was sad, and if that dragon had made him sad and hurting, then Lila was going to scold that dragon good! No matter how scary it might be. It was the only thing she could do, the only way she could protect anyone. She desperately hoped that Belisair was not in the middle of all this, but if he wasn't, then she was just running blindly into the jaws of danger with no way out at all. Lila had to do something though, even if this was the only thing she could do.

Lena shook her head, as she kept running after Lila

"I won't! If you're going to that dragon..." She stopped talking, getting slightly tired

"I... I'll go with you... If anything goes down I'll..." Lena added, looking extremely worriedly at the dragon in the distance

"Dragon do not turn from me. There is more for you to see."

Belisair send a scythe of wind at the dragon aiming for one of his eyes, as he called down a tornado upon the dragon's back.

"Those tears are not mere water, you imbecile. You will know them soon enough."

He wove together a spear of Aer. Binding the winds tighter and tighter together until they scream against each other, and launched it towards the dragon's skull.

"You know not true pain, beast, but you will."

He sent a call out to the hottest winds upon the desert sands to the far South, and waited for them to arrive.

@KingsPlague

The dragon swung his head towards the sylph, releasing a roar that tore nearby trees from the ground and pushed away the attacks he would soon feel, he rose up on his hind legs and spread his massive wings revealing a brown splotch within his chest "I am already dead, I feel no pain and all pain you inflict on me will go straight to Kyngerz who is captured inside my frozen body, and don't think that I shall help you in giving clues on how to free him, for now it is his turn to be imprisoned and watch, he will watch as the world is one again plunged into an ice age and the cities and world he learned to know and love fall" the dragon gave a powerful flap of its wings, pushing the winds against belisair, the trees below them groaning and snapping like twigs from the immense pressure from the wind.

Belisair didn't even dlinch as the wind pushed towards him swirled around him and was redirected in a hail of arrows towards the brown splotch. Each arrow was tipped with a tear.

"I do not wish to kill you again, Traitor. I wish to unmake you. I will not allow you to even THINK you vould destroy this world before I can share my sadness."

The arrows struck the scales over the brown splotch, cracking them slightly but not enough for the dragon to notice "your pain means little to me, I am an ancient being and laugh at your sadness" the dragon chuckled, rising higher into the sky until he was consumed by the clouds above, disappearing into the grey above.

The dragon had vanished into the clouds overhead, and Lila had come to a stop beside a tree. Her eyes were on Belisair, something about him seemed wrong somehow. The Yuan-ti was frowning deeply and she attempted to stand so that the tree shielded most of her body as she peeked around it at the battle. She was afraid, very afraid. She shouldn't have even come out here, but she had needed to know if Belisair was involved or not. Part of her wished she had stayed at the inn. Green eyes were wide, as she stared at the scene before her.

Lena soon arrived near Lila, as she looked at the battle, wide eyed

"This is not good, Lila, we have to go to the Inn and alert everyone!" She said, looking at Lila seriously, with a bit of fright in her eyes

"We cannot do anything now!" She said, as she looked at the dragon rise to the clouds

Lila knew that Lena was right, there was absolutely nothing they could do, certainly there was nothing that Lila could do. Something told her to stay though, some voice somewhere inside her heart told her to stay. Even though she believed she was in great danger by staying, looking at Belisair made her heart feel like it was breaking. Something was definitely off about him, the sadness on the wind was much heavier now too. The closer to Belisair the more she could feel that heaviness in the air. If he was sad about something, she couldn't just leave him, even if he was fighting a dragon.

The Yuan-ti looked at Lena and nodded ever so slightly, her green eyes were filled with fear, but also determination.
"I...I won't leave....but you should." Her voice trembled slightly, but it was filled with a determined resolve. Lila had no intention of leaving. There still might be something she could do to help, somehow.

"I... I won't leave you alone" Lena said, looking seriously at Lila

"I... I will try to help you and Belisair as best as I can" She said, slowly walking alongside her.

"Even... Even if our lives will be in danger... I-I l promise"

"You may be ancient, Dragon, but even the most ancient of things must fall to oblivion. So why don't you face your fate? It is disappointing that I have to punish you once again. Through the body of this innocent child no less."

The wind took on a harsher tone. It tore against itself as it's friction reached an unparalleled high. The wind screamed at a volume beyond hearing as it condensed into something else. Something that moved faster than the eye could track, that sizzled and crackled and boomed as it ripped through the clouds aiming for the Dragon's heart.

"I gave you a chance to be apart of something that could one day atone for you despicable actions. I was a fool. Now I will make sure to teach you a lessen you won't so soon forget."

"Taika T'chaler Raiden!"

Lightning raced across the sky as it converged on the dragon from six different directions.

The Dragon roared as the lightning struck him, the heat melting holes in his wings as he dropped from the sky "We will meet again Zephyr, when I have completely gained my strength. For like the wind, the cold is eternal" and with that the massive dragon shattered, icey crystals raining down from the sky as well as the brown splotch that marked the beasts heart.

@KingsPlague @Kry

Lena looked up at the sky, and widened her eyes, when she saw ice crystals falling down.

"Now... This... Has been..." She was speechless, looking at Lila a bit worriedly.

She then hastly started walking towards Belisair.

@Delacare.

Lila didn't move, Belisair called lightning and all of the bolts seemed to strike the dragon. Then the dragon shattered, icy crystals floated down around them, everywhere. It seemed safe, perhaps, but Lila didn't move. She remained standing there, half hidden by the tree, one of few that had survived the harsh winds, and watched as Lena approached Belisair. The Yuan-ti inhaled deeply, her heart still pounded hard and fast within her chest, she was still afraid, and Belisair still seemed a bit off. A bit different. The wind was still tinged with sadness.

Finally Lila moved, but she did not go far. She stepped out around that tree and moved only three or four paces towards Belisair before stopping. Just watching and waiting as Lena ran up to the Sylph.

@JJKab @KingsPlague @Delacare

Belisair, or rather Zephyr, sent the winds out to capture the brown splotch as it fell. He calmed the winds as he placed it at the Sylph's feet.

"It would seem that I am forced to show mercy once again."

Zephyr looked down upon the "splotch" with pity and disgust. This would not be the last time this creature would bring his little Sylph to tears.

Zephyr separated himself from Belisair, and placed the weary boy upon the snowy ground.

"Ah child such sadness. I am sorry you had to go through this, but worry not. You will be whole again one day."

His body was insubstantial, but became more real as he took the misplaced winds and snow into himself.

"I will be taking your sadness and fury with me. Along with that meddlesome pest your little Palsiet is obsessed with."

"Spoil sport. I was so close this time."

"SILENCE!"

Zephyr took the unknown presence in as he visibly calmed himself and turned to Lena and Lila.

"You two there. Take care of my child. I will not be here to watch over him for some time to come. This sadness must be dealt with immediately."

He had a breeze pick up Flint's body and placed it upon Belisair's chest. The body faded away and left a fist sized, round bundle of feathers.

"So long for now, Sylphid.I will see you again."

He was gone in a flash of lightning. Leaving all witnesses stunned.

Belisair had not been Belisair, that was why he had felt so off. Lila didn't fully understand what was going on, but she did know that the wind itself had a presence of it's own. That was the wind always around Belisair, but Lila was stunned, and a little confused. A lot of things she didn't understand had been happening, but there was two things she did understand, Flint's lifeless body, as it faded away leaving nothing but a bundle of feathers, and the wind had asked her to watch over Belisair.

Such a task as that, she was not suited for something like that. Lila shook her head hard and ran to where Belisair had been laid in the snow, she dropped to her knees next to him and cupped her hands over the feathers that lay on his chest. There was a pain in her own chest, her heart ached, she had not known Flint long, but he had been her friend and she was sad that he was gone. She had no idea how or why he had died, but he was gone. She sat like that for a minute or two, and then removed her hands from covering Flint's feathers. Lila did not cry, but she felt the pain deep within her gentle heart.

That pretty bird, she wouldn't get to talk to him again, but her sadness was not important and she shoved it aside as best she could. She reached out and placed a purple scaled hand on each of Belisair's cheeks. She shouldn't be touching him like this, without permission. She really was a bad slave, but at the moment she didn't care.
"L-Lord Belisair.." Her voice was a hesitant whisper.
