Fantasy The Spirit Inside ~ Forest and Village

RP Marshall]Lila's touch made Flint giddy. Her snake scales were smooth and cool. Dimples popped out of the previously vexed crow's face. He slowly wrapped his wings around the nice snake creature. NO! Stay in control! He couldn't let this human have Belisair. It wouldn't be the two of them anymore. She would take the bird's place. But she sure was good at petting. "Well..." said Flint. "I guess we can." Besides he had promised Belisair to be a good egg. [RIGHT][URL="https://www.rpnation.com/profile/32629-delacare/ said:

"I see that everyone's made a new friend. Wonderful."

Lila hugged the crow close again when he agreed to be her friend, and just as gently as before, she ran a finger down his chest. Starting just under his beak and ending at his belly. His feathers were so soft, and so dark. Lila loved the color and feel of them. She brought him close to her face and gently nuzzled her cheek against his small feathered one, rather happily. "My name is Lila'Vjola, but just Lila is fine." She knew her name could be hard to pronounce sometimes, and it wasn't really necessary to say all of it anyway.

She moved the crow away from her face, jumping at the slightest bit when Belisair spoke. She really had forgotten he was there, she had been just too caught up with this pretty bird. Those green eyes blinked as a bit of embarrassment colored her cheeks when she looked up to Belisair.
"S-sorry..." She stared up at his face, the color slowly leaving her cheeks. He didn't seem angry, he seemed rather happy about this. Lila smiled slightly at him and stood, holding Flint out to the Sylph. She ran her finger gently over the crow's feathers one more time, a lingering, almost wistful touch.

How wonderful it must be to have feathers and wings instead of scales.

"The name's Flint but you can still call pretty bird," The vain crow said gleefully. "No wonder my friend likes you, you're a nice person!"

Belisair took his crow back,tucking him in his arms.

"I'm proud of you. Both of you."

"Lila don't call him a pretty bird too much, it may go to his head." He kissed Flint on the head before the bird could retaliate.

Lila's experiences had made her nice, a delicate flower. She had been on the receiving end of cruelty far too many times, and she never wanted to make anyone or anything feel the way she had. It was a horrible feeling, plus being nice just felt nice. Even if others were receptive to it. She said none of that however when Flint called her nice, she just smiled at him. When Belisair spoke, Lila nodded. Though she didn't quite understand what the phrase 'go to his head' meant, she would listen to the Sylph without complaint. So far he had been so very kind to her, and he didn't believe in slavery, which meant in his presence she was free. He would protect her and her freedom, wouldn't he?

Suddenly, Lila's green eyes were shimmering with tears and swirling with so much emotion. Well it might seem sudden to Belisair, since he didn't know all the things Lila was thinking. She moved, so quickly, as fast as a striking snake, but all she did was wrap her arms around Belisair's waist and hug him tightly.
"Thank you so very much for everything!" It might seem strange to thank him for everything, as he had only brought her to town and given her a shawl and a room. As well as the reassurance of her continued freedom. For Lila, these things were a lot, more than she ever deserved, at least that's how she felt.

She pulled away quickly.
"I....I would like to sleep now, if that's alright?" It was asked with a bit of hesitation, uncertainty. He was so kind and said such lovely things, but she still didn't really understand what was fully expected of her. Of what her new limits were. What kind of things could she do without having to have permission, was it everything and anything? Lila had a little trouble wrapping her head around that thought.

@Delacare

Lena quietly closed her eyes, as she soon went asleep, a bit tired from today's events. She smiled a bit to herself, reminded of that girl she met.. Lila.. She would love to interract with her more, since she did like her, but was worried over her a bit.

@Delacare
Belisair was definitely in over his head. He had never been responsible for someone's well being like this. Even when his mortal mother was dying, she had managed to take care of the both of them up until the day she died. It was disconcerting, but it was also invigorating. When Lila exploded with emotion and hugged him again, he was pleasantly surprised; apparently his words and assurances meant much more to her than he had intended.

In Belisair's eyes, he had actually given Lila very little, 'Not enough really. Look at her. I'm on a pedestal before her. Mother said that treating all things as equals would make it so, but she made it look so easy.'

When Lila asked him if she could sleep, he knew it would take a while for her to accept that she was more than just a slave without a new master. It was a work in progress, similar to Flint, and even Kyngerz if he thought about it. He would repair the damage. He would HELP THEM repair the damage.

He placed Flint back onto his head as he approached her, "Lila I've already told you that you can be totally comfortable and free with me. You may differ to me if that makes you feel better for now, but eventually you will have to start making your own decisions. Alright?" He cupped her face, staring deeply into her eyes, and smiled one of his softest smiles.

"If you are tired and wish to sleep, you may. I will be right here", he leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on her forehead, leaving a lingering scent of lotus blossoms blown on a gentle breeze. Anyone or anything who could smell the scent would know that this lovely creature was the claimed ward of something ancient and not to be trifled with, just encase.

"Rest now Lila'Vjola" he pronounced it perfectly with just the right cadence to the syllables.

Kyngerz remained on the rood for quite a while, looking over the empty streets as the lights in the houses slowly wnt out leaving only a few, himself and the night. The Palsiet pulled an odd Aulos style instrument, the two pipes deeply intertwined the wind blew through it softly playing a beautiful melody on its own, and the Palsiet followed the notes of the wind, playing a long mellow melody that echoed off the buildings and into the night until sleep finally ate away at him

When Belisair took her by the chin, Lila fought hard not to flinch at his touch. It was so gentle, though for a brief moment she had been afraid to meet his eyes. She did anyway, her green ones filled with hope, uncertainty and a slight lingering fear of something. A fear that all this kindness and gentleness might suddenly end, or be taken away from her. Still, she stood quietly, feeling a bit more at ease at the Sylph's smile. It was such a comforting smile, reassuring and sweet. When he kissed her forehead, it sent a shiver down Lila's spine, to the tip of her tail. A slight shock through her muscles and her heart increased in it's beating. She felt tingly all over, and it was not a bad feeling.

A soft smile on her lips as she nodded a bit, another shocking shiver racing over her body at the way he had perfectly said her name. It was so nice, hearing it like that. Lila blinked those eyes at him, and took a tentative step back, and gave a slight bow of respect.
"If..If you need me, please wake me!" Though she wasn't sure what he might need, after all she was free, so he probably didn't have any chores for her to do. The clothes she had washed would probably be dry by morning, and they were in an Inn so there wasn't really any need for her to sweep or dust anything. She could dance for him if he liked.

Lila moved away from Belisair. She would try her best to make her own decisions, but what if they were the wrong decisions and someone got angry at her for them? She climbed into the bed she had been sitting on earlier, it was so soft and comfortable. Lila fell asleep almost as soon as her head touched the pillow.

Kyngerz had awoken hours earlier, he ended up sneaking into the room Lila had been sleeping in and picking her up and leaving a note for Bel that they would await him infront of the town gate. The Palsiet took her out of town and placed her softly in a nearby meadow, he sat down and watched over her sleep for a while before he nudged her lightly to wake her. "Awaken child" he murmur softly, not wanting to startle her. He wished to teach her self defense before they continued as there would always be a chance he could not protect her.

When Kyngerz had picked Lila up, she murmured something and snuggled close against his chest. Feeling suddenly very safe in her dreams, soon that feeling faded and she was gently being woken in a meadow. Those green eyes fluttered, and opened, startled and confused. This was not the room she had fallen asleep in. That head turned this way and that, looking around, before her eyes landed on the Palsiet. A bit of fear in them, what did he want of her? He had said he would protect her, and where was Belisair? Lila stared at Kyngerz rather uncertainly, but she didn't move, not yet. She looked like she might run away at a moment's notice though.

Lena slowly woke up, as she looked around. She didn't get much sleep, and she was still tired. She decided to walk it off, as she stood up, and walked out of her room, and towards the exit of the inn. She noticed that that man who was leading them was carrying someone. Curiously, she approached them.

"Hello, sir... May I be of any assistance?" Lena asked, smiling, not looking at Lila.

"Hush child" Kyngerz said to Lena, he was hoping to have done this alone, but if someone followed him he would not stop them "Do not get in the way of my plans, as I wish not to hurt anyone unnessecarly"

The Palsiet smiled warmly as the young lady awoke, he stood up and took a few steps back, and began to take off the metal plating over his leather armor and dropping them softly onto the grass, the metal clinking lightly as it struck on top of eachother, he took a deep breath and dropped his weapons as well "I must tell you Lila, I am not very good at this, nor do I do this often, Though I hope you have done something similar before, I do not expect that you will be very good at it. But worry not, that is why I brought you out here." he said with a slight chuckle, his eyes growing warmer.

"H-Hurt anyone?" Lena's eyes widened a bit, as she loomed at Kyngerz.

"I... I forgot to mention, that I have healing capabilities, so if anything goes wrong, I can help" She said, smiling a bit worriedly.

Dia awoke in her bed. The Sun just coming up over the horizon. She got up and walked over to bathing area. There was a large bucket of water sitting by the tub. She pointed to the water and muttered "Agni tapas" a spell to heat the water. Soon enough you could see steam rising from the water. She got in the tub and began to scrub herself clean. When finished she got out and grabbed a large towel that was laying near. Usually she would have air dried in the Sun, but this was not home. She searched through her bag for a change of clothes. With her dirty ones she washed them in the remaining hot water. She could have used a spell to cleanse them, but honestly there were some things she just liked to do by hand. She chewed on a miswak stick while she washed them. Then she rung them out and whispered "Suska" the clothes dried instantly and she packed them into her bag. She wondered about the others and if they had gotten up yet. Dia made her way downstairs where there were a few people in the Tavern, a drunkard who seemed to have been there all night and a few others but no sign of her crew. She looked to the Inn keeper and asked for a few pieces of bread and berries and scooted some coins his way. He scooped them up and went to the back to get her food. When he reappeared with the food she asked,"Have you seen a large man, a Yuan-Ti, and a slender man leave here this Morning?" The Inn keeper looked at her puzzled

"A Yuan WHAT?" He asked, " I saw a rather big fellow walk out of here carrying some sort of creature earlier. S'all I know"

"No one else?"

"No one else has left here ma'am." The Inn keeper said walking off"

Dia was slightly confused. Why had Kyngerz left? Surely he wasn't sneaking off to separate himself from the group. She sat and ate thinking things over. "I'll just wait till Belair comes down...."

Lila looked at Lena, then at Kyngerz. Not entirely sure what the Palsiet was talking about. She stood slowly, almost cautiously, clutching the robe around her. She had fallen asleep still wearing only the towel and robe. Not the ideal dress for what Kyngerz had in mind to do, but maybe the ideal clothes for what Lila initially thought was going to happen, even though she wasn't sure what was going to happen. There was a warmth in the Palsiet's eyes though, that helped to curb some of Lila's nervousness. "I..I d-don't know w-what you expect of me.." She mumbled the words softly, looking down at the ground. Kyngerz had removed some of his clothing, or rather, his armor. It was all the same to Lila.

Lena quietly stood near Kyngerz, waiting for her to be called.

(Nightie.)

The Palsiet gave a slight shake of the head as Lena suggested healing "Not during training, Pain is a lecture in this case"

Kyngerz looked to the Yuan-Ti "I wish not that you become a burden for the group, in this case I will try and teach you how to fight." he took out a dagger and tossed it at her, the blade sinking into the dirt between her feet "Pick it up and come at me, worry not about hurting me child. Try and cut me or stab me with it, we will start with small weapons and move up until you find something that suits you, forget not to use your Tail as it can also be used as a weapon if you wish it too." the Palsiet explained, placing one hand on his chest and the other out towards his student.

When the dagger was tossed at her feet, Lila jumped back a bit, staring at it, and then wide eyed and very frightened at Kyngerz. She shook her head, she didn't want to be a burden to anyone, but she also didn't want to fight or hurt anyone at all. At the mention of her tail, the appendage curled around and Lila hugged the purple scaled tail to her chest tightly, she wasn't even sure it was sturdy enough to be used as a weapon, and even if it was, she would refuse. "N-no!" She moved back another step, putting more distance between her and the dagger at her feet. "I..I...I won't be a burden..." Her eyes were shinning, as if she might cry at any moment. "...I don't want to hurt anyone..ever.." Those words were spoken softly, and the tears did start to spill as she said that. Lila dropped to her knees, still hugging her tail tightly to her chest, her eyes on the ground. She refused to look at Kyngerz or Lena.

@JJKab @KingsPlague

Kyngerz loosened his stance and walked over to her, crouching down and petting her softly and spoke softly "hush child, you don't need to be scared of hurting someone for the sake of your safety. You are fighting for your freedom, for your life. The great war of beings was one of the most terrible things I have ever witnessed, I lost many friends in that war, and it was all for the sake of freedom. Now, nigh 3 millenia later slavery has returned and I fear another war will be my end. All I want is to teach you to protect yourself, I'd rather not see you be put back into slavery, nor do I want to see yet another friend die" he explained, his warm eyes looking away as they were filled with sorrow and pain of his past with a deep sigh of regret.

@Kry

Lila wouldn't meet Kyngerz eyes for a while, when he came over and crouched in front of her. He pat her gently, but she had almost flinched away from the touch. Almost. He was trying to comfort and reassure her, the petting was nice, and finally Lila looked up at him as he spoke. She had never heard of the Great War before, she didn't know anything about the troubles Kyngerz had been through, but she was very familiar with the pain of loss. He was doing this for her, she realized that, and she understood that, but even so. Knowing those things, Lila couldn't bring herself to even think about picking up a weapon.

She let go of her tail, and launched herself at Kyngerz, wrapping her arms around him in a hug.
"Please don't make me fight! Please. Oh Please! I can't bear the thought of harming someone, even if it is to save myself!" The words were spoken clearly, there was no uncertainty in them, because this was something she was very certain of. Kyngerz might punish her for being so forward, so direct with him, and refusing to obey but she was willing to take that chance. She clung tightly to him, sobbing softly against him. She cried in fear of being punished, she cried for his own sorrow and loss, and cried at the thought of harming another living thing.

She cried because she was wasting his efforts, he was trying to help her, and she wasn't even letting him. She really was the worst, she didn't deserve any of the kindness these people had shown her, she cried for that as well.

The constant casting of great magics had taken its toll and Belisair and Flint slept soundly. The first kiss of sunlight woke Belisair who stretched and stood up with Flint in his arms. He turned to Lila's bed to see if she had woken and saw nothing but a note. He placed Flint into his pouch and read the note.

As he read, his hand began to visibly tremble, "Kyngerz..."

There was a resounding bang as the door was slammed open and Belisair fluttered down the stairs. He turned to the Innkeeper and there was a sort of aura around him.

"Innkeeper. You do not have to speak; just point. Which way did He go? My tall companion." The Innkeeper pointed towards the direction Kyngerz had carried Lila. He turned and brushed past Dia not caring if she had tried to address him or not. @ragingfire

"Zephyr, find them now." the wind leapt to his words and found the two he sought and a third.

"Come Zephyr." He took off in a small explosion of wind.

His feet scarcely touched the ground as he flew to the meadow. The skies darkened as he neared the clearing and his target.

"KYNGERZ!!! WHO GAVE YOU LEAVE TO TAKE MY WARD WITHOUT PERMISSION?" Belisair's voice was amplified by the frantic winds that surrounded him. His eyes had a hard gleam.

"You will explain the meaning of this note and what foolish thought you had in your mind when you came up with this insane idea."

The clouds above were swirling dangerously and even the most imperceptive of creatures would know to flee.

His voice dropped to a whisper that could be hear clear as a bell, "Answer me."

Rex was asleep on a street bench outside the inn. After realizing that no food could satisfy him, he drank ale freely until he was hammered, then had wandered out and fallen into a dreamless sleep. As soon as the suns rays began to peek over the horizon, the man opened his eyes groggily and squinted, then cringed and used his hands to shield his face from the light. "The hell,," he muttered, looking around at the street, being confused as he tried to recall last night. Slowly sitting up, he groaned wearily and picked up the half empty bottle that he had left on the ground. Yet again, his stomach growled, giving him the constant reminder of his eternal hunger.
