Fantasy The Spirit Inside ~ Forest and Village

Lila was content to walk in silence, with the large knight at her back and the gentle man in front leading the way. His presence was as refreshing as a summer's breeze, now that Lila thought about it properly. Then Lena was speaking to her again, and the Yuan-ti frowned the slightest bit. It was only bruises from tripping and stumbling in the forest for so long, it wasn't anything anyone needed to waste their energy on. "I-I'm fine.." That slight frown still on Lila's lips, but there was a bit of uncertainty in her eyes. "Y-you don't need t-to waste that kind of thing on me.." Lila ducked her head slightly, green eyes going to watch the ground before her and the back of Belisair's feet as they walked on.
@JJKab

(It's fine, I just wanted to make sure everyone is on the same page. I'm always tabbing back to the profile page to re look over everyone's profiles and even then, I still usually miss stuff like ages and what not.)
"If you say so... If you ever need any assistance, just come to me... I'll heal you no problem..." Lena said, smiling gently at Lila

"Uhm... I don't think I've introduced myself... I'm Lena, really nice to meet you" She said, bowing her head at Lila gently.

As the Town gates came up, Kyngerz stepped forward to speak with the guards, his size intimidated usually them but he hated using that method so he handed them a sack of gold for their troubles and allowed the group in, leading them to the inn where he ordered himself the strongest mead they had before sitting himself down at a table away from the door. As the mead met his lips his eyes lit up with joy, he found a love for this drink when he had thawed as the Palsiet had never brewed alcoholic beverages. So the Palsiet sat there, watching over the group and trying to take in some information about them as the band played noisily in the background.

The one eyed Alpha looked at its slain son. Green slime oozed from the youth's lips and its pungent odor cloaked the parent's eye. The Alpha had already seen its family and friends die at the hands of a mighty human warrior who had escaped with the murderous bird. With his bewitched weapons, the warrior had 'mercilessly' shattered their frozen bodies into bits. The Alpha was alone to weep at its lose. No one to comfort it anymore. Its magnificent fur was falling in clumps. The poison had affected the wolf's body but it had not been fatal. Soon it would be completely hairless and would wander the forest in shame.

'NEVER!' the Alpha thought to itself, 'I will hunt down those two monsters. They will pay. When I have them by the throat I will be at peace. When the scent of their blood reaches my nostrils I will be satisfied. They will die along with anyone else who stands in my way! Death to them ALL! My family will be avenged!'

The sleeping bird and the others had reached the Town's inn.

Lena quietly sat down on the seat next to the exit, as she looked around, not ordering anything. The stuff in the town might have contained fat, which Lena absolutely hated. She just waited for something interesting to happen

Lila had nodded slightly at Lena's introduction, "I-I'm Lila.." For a brief moment the faintest of smiles touched Lila's lips. Though as they entered the town, the Yuan-ti became more nervous. Rightfully so, she was an escaped slave, but at the same time she was a bit relieved. Surely the town, even full of people, would be less dangerous than that frightening forest. Lila stepped closer to the back of Belisair, a purple scaled hand reaching out to gently grasp the back of his shirt.

When they entered the Inn, she became a bit more nervous, she glanced at Kyngerz, was he still protecting them. Now that they were in town, or had that ended when the forest had ended? Lila wanted to be very close to both Belisair and the Palsiet, the Sylph's presence was comforting, and the Palsiet was imposing. Certainly he could protect them from anything without any trouble at all.

@JJKab @Delacare @KingsPlague

Dia followed the others into the inn. She looked around and took a seat in the back. For a second, being surrounded by strangers, she started to miss her family back home, the heat and the ocean breeze. She closed her eyes and sighed. Dia thought for a second about scrying her mother. But decided against in because of her environment. She grabbed the sack off of her back that Bindy had given her and began to rummage through it to see just what she had been given. Inside she found a case. She opened it and found two magical daggers an Athame with a black handle, embedded in the handle was a ruby red stone and a magical symbol indicative of fire ingraved in it. The other dagger had a white handle. A pouch of silver pebbles. She knew this was used for defeating certain beings such as werewolves, zombies, vampires, to name a few. She could use a simple incantation to shoot the pebbles just like bullets. There was a sac of mixed nuts and she smiled. Yes! Food! "This is the most important thing she packed" Dia joked. She was always finding the humor in things. She began snacking on the nuts. The also had the magical pouch for the stone she was to retrieve and a few other knick knacks and of course the enchanted spell book. She wondered what Bindy was doing. She didn't want to show back up to Bindy without the stone, which was the only reason she wasn't going to go try and stay with her for the night. Dia yawned and took out her flask taking sips.

Belisair was happy to finally reach the Inn. He needed a bath and a bed and sought out the Innkeeper for them. Knowing that Kyngerz could handle himself and not caring about the others, Belisair got two adjoining rooms so that Lila could have her own but would still be close.

He had noticed Lila's increased nervousness as they reached civilization. Once they were in the Inn, he reached into an impossible pocket and pulled out a dark violet shawl that complemented her scales and wrapped it around her shoulders to help cover her mark.

He walked over to Kyngerz's table and sat down @KingsPlague , "I've gotten rooms for myself and Lila. I am going up to take a bath. I don't know what we are going to do yet, but I would appreciate it if you told everyone to make up their minds by tomorrow at noon." @JJKab @CandidFox @ragingfire @Knightling

"Come one Lila. We're going to bed." He handed Kyngerz Lila's room key and turned towards the stairs heading to his room knowing that his bath would be ready when he got there. @Kry

He had gotten a room for Lila but both he and Kyngerz knew that it was just a formality and that she would end up in Belisair's room one way or the other.

"You can sit on that bed Lila," he stepped behind the screen and began undressing, before picking up Flint and stepping into the clawed tub. @RP Marshall ((who needs a rubber ducky?)) They both needed to wash away dirt. He washed Flint first without disturbing his rest and then himself. Air drying them quickly, Belisair pulled out a change of clothes from an impossible pocket and dressed himself, before placing Flint back on his chest. He left the clothes out so he could wash them tomorrow.

Belisair came from behind the screen, "I ordered enough water for you to bathe if you wish."

He sat on his bed and relaxed, holding Flint close. He was waiting for Kyngerz to check in on them before going to sleep. The Palsiet just seemed the type to do that before resting himself.

When the shawl was wrapped around her shoulders, Lila stared at Belisair for a few moments, a hand reaching up to clutch the shawl tightly and keep it from slipping. It was such a lovely color, the color of her scales, which also happened to be Lila's favorite color. It did help decrease her nervousness a bit, but she still remained very close to Belisair as he moved about getting room keys, and going to speak with the Palsiet. Lila gave Kyngerz a brief smile just before following Belisair up to the room.

Lila sat on the bed that was indicated, and waited patiently while Belisair bathed. She had the shawl in her lap now, folded into a neat square as she ran her hands over the fabric. It felt nice, she really liked it. Her tail twitched contentedly behind her. When Belisair emerged from behind the screen, clean and in fresh clothes, Lila smiled at him.
"Thank you!" She seemed slightly less uncertain now and her gratitude was earnest and heartfelt. She stood and placed the shawl almost carefully on the bed where she had been sitting, before she moved to step behind the screen.

The Yuan-ti bathed thoroughly in that tub, washing and scrubbing at all the dirt that was on her body. Carefully scrubbing the areas of her skin that were scaled, and definitely her tail. That needed to be clean too! It took a while, but eventually Lila came out of the tub clean and feeling very fresh. The only problem now, was her clothes. The only clothes she had, and they were still rather soiled from traipsing through the forest. Lila looked around the area for a towel, seeing one, she grabbed it and wrapped it around herself.

Her figure was rather slim and the towel was big enough for an average male, so it fit around her decently. Content, and humming a soft tune, Lila began to clean up whatever mess she might've made around the tub, then she grabbed the her and Belisair's dirty clothes and set about hand washing them in the small area meant for that sort of thing not far from the tub.

Belisair had nodded at the Yuan-ti's thanks. When she had finished bathing and had taken it upon herself to wash his clothing as well as her own, he remembered something he had been meaning to tell her.

"Lila, I am glad that you feel comfortable around me. I wanted you to understand that I do not believe in slavery, nor do I plan on taking you for myself. I do believe, however, that it is best if we simply allowed people to believe that you belong to me or Kyngerz, until I can find some way to remove the mark on your shoulder. I have a few enchanted rods that can cast a spell that will alter the formation of the ink in the mark to change its design, but not to remove it. Also, that shawl is yours. You don't have any belongings, but I will take care of you." he smiled his usual soothing smile to further ease her worries.

(Since I missed a bit, I'm just going to recap what my character did up until now)

“Rex I understand that you feel lost, but I don’t think you should stay in the village for too long. Humans are not the most perceptive beings, but they will begin to sense your lifelessness if you remain.” @Knightling
Rex narrowed his eyes and folded his arms solemnly "I'm not dead, It's just that,," he again looked at his pale hands "I must be sick,,or something,," he turned his attention back towards the group when they got ready to go. He figured to atleast follow them until the village, then decide what to do from there.

Chesire raised an eyebrow and shrugged. 'Rude much?' She thought, sighing as she clutched her basket gently and looked at the human zombie when she noticed his stomach growling. Putting her hand in the basket, she took out a rather large piece of bread and handed out to him. "Bread?" She asked and tilted her head. Besides, she always brings food whenever she travels.

@Knightling
"Thanks!" Rex muttered quickly, snatching the bread like there was no tomorrow. Holding it in both hands, he began to devour it like a starving man. Almost immediately, his enthusiasm died down when he realized "It doesn't taste like anything,," Rex continued to eat it, however, in hopes that it would satisfy his hunger. As the group made their way through the forest, he walked and ate at the same time until it was gone. Moving quickly, Rex rubbed the crumbs out of his beard and frowned. "The bread was large, but it didn't fill my hunger,," he muttered in horror, unable to understand what was wrong. "Perhaps I need something else,," He eyed the town cautiously as they approached, then checked his pockets as they entered the inn. He had a little bit of money, and so the first thing he ordered was a steak and a tall cup of water. Sitting down at a busy table, the zombie smiled slightly for the first time since his experience had began. Though he had no memories in his head, he felt at home sitting at the bar, and the calm crowd of drinkers didn't seem to phase him. The only thing that ruined his good mood was his constant hunger and thirst. Leaning his head against his hand, Rex sat at the table and waited for his order impatiently.

Lila looked up from her self imposed chore when Belisair began to speak. He said lovely things, and Lila believed him, honestly she really had no reason not to believe him. It could be a ruse, to gain her trust, but no one needed to go so far to trick Lila. She was slight and not a fighter, she could easily be handled without such trickery. His words seemed sincere, and his smile put her even more at ease. Though comfortable around him and eased by that soothing smile, Lila was still nervous about something. She wasn't entirely sure how to be free.

She was silent as she finished washing their clothing, before hanging them up to dry on a line that stretched from wall to wall in a tiny corner of the wash room. Lila readjusted the towel around herself, to make sure she was properly covered, before she approached Belisair.
"I...I..." There were tears in her eyes as she stood before him, unsure even of what she had wanted to say. "....Thank you!!" It was said with such force, so much emotion, it was all Lila could do to keep from throwing her arms around the man and hugging him tightly.

Lila had nothing, no way to repay such kindness, and no real idea of how to survive on her own.

Belisair stood and place Flint on his head, balancing perfectly. He walked over to Lila pulling a spare robe out of an impossible pocket ((I really love Belisair's pockets. Dont worry there is a limit to his pockets, its just a very big limit.)) and wrapped it around her. It was a shorter robe than the ones he normally wore and sat just two inches from the floor when place on Lila. He then pulled the emotional girl into a comforting hug.

"I know you feel like you must repay us for such kindness. Don't. A gift is given expecting nothing in return. If you insist on repaying me, then learn and grow. Learn about this world and to stand upon your own two feet. Grow into a woman who is sure of herself and who can help others the way she was helped.

When Belisair wrapped the robe around her, she pulled it tight around herself. Though before much else could be done, Belisair was wrapping his arms around her. Instinctively, Lila flinched, but quickly relaxed into the hug. Belisair was nice and warm, and as comforting as a summer breeze. Though Lila had no idea why he kept making her think of summer breezes, she didn't mind it at all.

Though she blushed slightly when he called her a woman, Lila didn't correct him. She wasn't male or female, the Yuan-ti was both, but that was not something she was going to just outright say or reveal to anyone that didn't already know. Instead she hid her face against Belisair for a few moments, before pulling back from the hug and looking up at him.
"...I will do my best!" That was her response, sincere and honest, to his words about repayment. Lila would try very hard. She would do her best to prove that she was worth these fine gifts, and that she could stand on her own.

Flint awoke on top of a comfy and fragrant head of hair. Below him was the snake human, Lila, hugging whoever the crow was laying on. Flint saw that Lisa, wearing nothing but a loose robe, was hugging his best friend Belisair, clothed in a brand new outfit!

"SQUAWK!' Yelped flint.

The crow slipped from his perch and crashed on to the inn's hard wood floor disrupting the tender moment.

Lila jumped slightly at the loud 'squawk', and blinked innocently down at the bird. The poor creature had fallen right off of Belisair's head. The Yuan-ti slipped out of Belisair's embrace and knelt next to the crow, careful to make sure the towel still wrapped around her body, and the robe over it covered everything appropriately before she reached out to delicately attempt to pick up the crow. "Are you alright Pretty Bird?" Concern filled her voice, and she seemed more at ease speaking to the bird than she had to any of the others. Perhaps because he wasn't an imposing person, but a pretty creature. She had heard him speaking earlier, and wondered if maybe he would talk to her, a very soft smile was on her lips.

Flint's face was red with annoyance but when Lila picked him up tenderly and called him 'pretty bird' the color vanished away. He twisted his head, at the smiling human, trying to make up his mind on what he would say to the compassionate snake creature. The crow, shaking his head to focus, regained his frown.

"What are you doing to my FRIEND?" he said calmly but firmly to Lila. "You two better not be in the middle of a mating ritual."

By the time they got into the inn, Chesire immediately went to the receptionist when no one was looking. The girl looked up at a rather old man as she smiled and asked. "Excuse me mister~" She said and poked the bell that made a chime. The old man looked down at her as he raised an eyebrow. "Hm? What can I do for you?" He asked.

Chesire thought for a moment before answering. "I wanna know where the nearest blacksmith is~" She grinned as the old man told her. After a while the two of them started a conversation about the town and its legends.

@anyone:Y

Lila held the bird gently, blushing slightly at the crow's words. "M-mating ritual?" She also seemed a little surprised, how could anyone think hugging was a part of that? Hugging was far sweeter and more gentle than a mating ritual, well, in Lila's experience. She shook her head. "No-no-nothing like that! We were just hugging." Lila cradled the bird close, pressing him gently against her chest. Hugging Flint softly. "Hugging is much nicer, it's warmer, and it makes you feel like everything will be alright. It makes you feel as if someone really will save you. See?" For the moment it seemed she had forgotten Belisair was there, as if it were just her and Flint in the room.

As she hugged the crow, she stroked a finger gently down his back, almost as gently as if he were a fragile thing made of glass.
"Pretty Bird, will you be my friend?" She whispered the question softly, hopeful he would agree, but afraid he would refuse her. Lila had never been friends with an animal other than a snake, and even then, only certain snakes were friendly. She also hadn't had many friends in general. The other slaves had not liked her at all, and she never really fully understood why, even before her refusal to help with the escape.

Lila's touch made Flint giddy. Her snake scales were smooth and cool. Dimples popped out of the previously vexed crow's face. He slowly wrapped his wings around the nice snake creature.

NO! Stay in control! He couldn't let this human have Belisair. It wouldn't be the two of them anymore. She would take the bird's place. But she sure was good at petting.

"Well..." said Flint. "I guess we can."

Besides he had promised Belisair to be a good egg.

Kyngerz had watched over the others while Bel, Lila and Flint went to their rooms, They could protect her easy enough so he wouldn't be needed until the next day, and so he stood up and left the tavern, wandering the streets while the last honest folk disappeared under the shroud of darkness. He climbed onto the roof of the Inn and leaned back, staring at the stars in the sky. The Palsiet noticed that Cheshire had wandered past him but he remained silent, as he had enough interaction that day and felt like any more trouble may cause him unnecessary stress, so he would just watch, and most likely sleep on the roof.

After Lena looked through the menu in the inn. There was nothing interesting, so she stood up, and slowly headed to her room, which she was told that the leader payed for.

@Anyoned

"Do you think he's still awake?" She asked and looked at the door. "It's quite dark out there, he might be sleeping..."

The old man raised and eyebrow and chuckles.
"Kid. The blacksmith never sleeps, you can hear the metal pounding at night. It's actually a good time to visit him. Here-" The old man took out a small pouch of coins and gave it to her. "Give it to him as a gift and he may tell you something about that gem this forest has." Chesire immediately took it from him when he said 'gem'.

When she went out, she looked around to find the blacksmith until she heard the sound of metal from the distance. Grinning, she ran towards the sound as she sees a certain house with metal and fire scattered everywhere, as well as a giant shadow that reached the other building. Chesire noticed that it wasn't that far from the inn. Shrugging, she entered the blacksmith.

Lena got into her room,as she looked around it. It was stern, but it was completely different than her treehouse. She sighed, as she sat down on the bed. It was pretty comfortable. After she sat down, Lena looked at the pillows, and lied down. She purred quietly, closing her eyes: She did not have such luxuries in her treehouse.
