"Whose talking about you? I speak of every person who complains about the academy..

Complaining about small shit when there life before hand WAS shit.. I mean some peoples only option is stealing food, hiding from monsters.. All that rough and tumble" dart finished his drink.

"I travelled, getting whatever work I could, surviving off the land and all that. I was happy before this damned place, now I'm here with no money, not that I had much money when I was travelling, but I could afford an Inn everynight, it was perfect, then bloody perverts came and.... Well, caught me"

"If these 'perverts' done something to you I'm sure the academy would have done something.. In their view you could be a talented runaway turning into a slaz.. Main point is if you want to survive off the land and sleep in a inn every night go make that happen I'm not in the mood to care"

"By perverts, I mean they caught me while I was bathing, and I'm nowhere near turning into a slaz, if you had been listening, I don't have the money to just up and leave, have fun drinking you life away guarding some bloody school full of people who will accomplish so much more than you can" she sneered before standing up and sitting at a different seat, drink in hand

"This is what I told you Bry, if you want to leave.. most can, a lot don't though for whatever reason" dart said to Bryant but loud enough for Lucy to hear as she walked away.

"If you want to escape you escape, if you need money, you get money, you hungry you eat..

It's people who expect everything served to them on a platter who don't grow or learn"

Well, he's not wrong. But he is cyncial. So's this new girl.

Hard to tell with that hair of hers... heh, and this tie. But that personality? Can't be anything but a Grey.

Bryant quit pretending to read the vintages on the rack behind the bar and looked up as if he hadn't been paying attention.

Better to stay neutral here. Make a good impression.

"So most can leave, huh?" He glanced at Harry, trying to gauge his stake in all this. "Ma'am," he said seriously towards the young woman. "the Academy dragged me off the road, same as you. I'd like to get back on it." He raised an eyebrow. "Want a companion?" He tapped his tiefold. "I'm Orange Talent, I can heal injuries. I can cook just about anything, I can make a falchion dance. I'm self sufficient." He paused. "I'll watch your back, if you watch mine."

Was that corny? Geez, I hope not. I'm used to the mercenary shtick, but usually I know my clientele a little better.

She'd be pretty foolish to pass this up though. Or proud.

Well... we all have our cardinal sins.

So what's her cardinal virtue?

Hell, what's mine?

Won't be much to heal if a red slaz screams past.. Them two on the road would be a funny story.

"See if that isn't opportunity I don't know what is" dart remarked.

Barkeep spoke softly to him for a moment,

"I'd say don't worry about it, 'she' can find her own way, and the other hasn't needed your help so he won't ask.. Don't get greedy" dart could be heard slurring a tad bit if one was to be evasdropping on their small talk.

"I'll unlock the small gate at night if you wanna sneak out" dart said to Bryant.

"You two can sneak off into the darkness, stow away in a ship somewhere, good fun"

"Sounds like a great way for undesirables to get in. Or out, like us." Bryant shook his head. "Nah, don't bother with the gate. I might not like the Academy, but I also don't to stir the pot. I'll wait a couple of days, get my real blindfold back, and waltz out the gate like anyone else. Maybe even charter a ship in the meantime."

He turned to the young lady. "We're assuming a lot, of course. What say you?"

Later in the afternoon, as Isolde had finished her boresome cleaning duty for the day, she decided to head down to the cafeteria area and grab something to fill her stomach with.

Well at least let me hope for the food to be decent alright. I'm starving.

And oh my goodness, some of these washrooms can be so goddamned smelly.

And i have to clean them later on too.

Ugh...

She shook the thoughts off, helped herself and grabbed a meal, as she sat down by an empty table and began eating.

I'll think i visit one of the libraries afterwards as well. Get some quiet time first. Try some good books. I deserve it i'd say.

"Dunno what boat is gonna take You to the badlands without decent pay.. As for your blindfold I said I'd fetch that didn't I? Bry, lu, keep... Good day" with that dart poured the last of the rum in his glass and finshed it. Walking out the door quite casually he placed his quart helmet on from which he left here this morning.

"Thanks rose" dart smiled as the woman handed it to him

Brief whisper was heard and a note was passed into darts hand.

"Their good, barkeep may be trying something but the guy should be right"

And he left.

Barkeep took the empty bottle and bag of silver and left it under the counter.

Barkeep took to speaking to his new patron,

"Bry huh? Don't get to mixed in with that one.. decent guy I guess, but.. It's easy to see your a badlands roamer.. But he, he has to answer to someone"

Naff stopped by,

Hello, Isolde right? Unless you prefer the more formal thing, either way welcome, I see you got the level one cleaning crew routine, as I said before sleeping quarters, offices, and the library is on the second level, or level two if you want" naffs smile was practiced and there for the sake of appearing warm.

"As you see we have a wide selection of food from all over frahlidor to across the water, your application pay wasn't quite there I'm told but as your working feel free to eat whatever cause you will pay it off later, it can be overwhelming, all the marble walls an such but banners have been hung to direct to halls an classes an whatnot."

Naff smiled that same smile

"Any questions my dear?"

She was a little confused by the sudden apearance of the second man with his suggestion of travelling together, she would have preferred travelling alone but she just didn't have the right things, for one, she would need arrows, she had recently managed to make a bow out of green who which she was quite proud of, sadly arrows would need a blue hue to be made. "Do you have any money so I can buy a few things? I know it sounds bad, but I really need some arrows if I'm going travelling, it's like a neccessity for me" she explained, her head tilted upwards towards the man, only her green eye showing

''Thanks for the information sir.

And yes, i do actually have two questions in which i'm curious to know about.

Till how late is a student allowed to roam outside of their room, for example like out in the halls or the cafeteria?

Second question. This academy looks quite big from the outside. How many floors does this building posses?

The reason I'm asking you all of this, is so

that i can more specifically know about the academy and properly follow it's rules.''

She returned a charming smile at him to appear both proper and polite.

"Well most of the students who work and live here walk freely whenever, as a new arrival you should know a security measure is in progress so students and faculty will need to reside in their quarters after class, meals and work, for your other question their is five levels but you only need worry about the first two.. Don't go above without a reason or a summons" his smile was gone at the end.. Just a honest warning hung in the air.

In other parts of the academy...

Dart had walked past two guards standing at the door to the assemement block with his guard uniform and guard helmet.

Why is the door unlocked?.. Heh that table an chair.. Almost like yesterday I was here..

The next door was unlocked as well, "this seems to easy" he mused to himself.

After a minute of looking around he found a chest a few different of items and coin.

That's a lot of opiate.."no one will miss it"

actual heshweed "I'm sure no one needs it"

bags of..coin.."who counted it anyway?"

orange strip of cloth.."debt repaid, one out of three"

That is a exquisite dagger, nice grip, sheath, solid sharp steel.."mine"

One of those cloths to cover your face? "Red and blue? Still good"

After a few minutes of rummaging and then stashing in different places, dart was off again.

A Drunk on a objective.

Isolde silently nodded in response.

''Understood sir. I'll keep all that in mind.''

A security measure huh..

Don't go higher up than the second level of the building. Uh huh.

Makes me even more curious to know...

But for now, i'll just keep things low-key and avoid making any bold risky moves.

Heh. When he said that, it even made his professionally plastered smile fade out. Can't get more serious than that.

''Right. So, is there anything else you need to have me know?''

Green? Was I wrong? Well, you know what they say about stereotyping...

"Nah, I'm broke. But arrows aren't hard to find-- twenty arrows are usually worth a gold piece." Bryant shrugged. How bad do you need them right now? Won't be much use for them on a ship or in town."

"I don't need them that badly, but I will when we go travelling by foot to some town or another, mostly for protection and hunting" she explained, looking at his orange-tinged eyes carefully. "Why do you want to travel with me? As far as you know, I'm just a child"

"Strength in numbers. And believe me, I don't underestimate young people. When I was your age, I was travelling the Badlands on foot."

God, "when I was your age." Did I just say that? I'm twenty three, not sixty six!

He put his rum down. "I don't think I got your name, miss..?"

"Bryant. Adrian Bryant. Look," he said, tapping on the table, before we go anywhere, I've got to get something of mine. My real blindfold. Dart says he can get his hands on it, so I'm stuck here until he delivers. As for where we can run to, I'd suggest the Badlands-- not only is that my home, you can also be damn sure the Spectrum won't follow you there." He scowled. "At least, if you stay out of the port cities. Where're you headed, assuming we get out of here?"

"Him? Nah, Dart left a little while ago." Bryant wrinkled his nose. "Phew, I'd know if Dart were here. Blood and rum. Don't need to see him to know where he is. Besides," Bryant winked ineffectually behind his tiefold, "I had to heal Dart a little while ago. And let's just say that I didn't dispel all the Hue." After a moment, Bryant pointed northwest said ponderously, "He's, uh... kind of over there. I think. Maybe."
