Realistic or Modern The Shipyard

@Quarantine , True, but David's family is filthy rich and David is the only heir to the Beaumont name so his father will definitely come after him. Even now that they're on the run, his father would likely hire men to look for his runaway son. It's either his father tries to get him out or have him executed. Jean Paul Beaumont will not stand for having a publically criminal son. If he doesn't manage to get David out and manipulate the media, then he would rather that David die than stay in prison and bring further shame to the Beaumont name.

As for Jess losing her mind, I think it would be an interesting o: Sounds likely that next leader would have to go without any training if that happens.

@Kade ,omg Q XDD And here I was thinking that David would get reminded of his technut best friend every time he sees Q working his thang. David will have a soft spot for Q. Of course, not just yet since he hasn't seen him work IC but when he does then BAM.
That's fine. David is his "nemesis" for right now, which means all it will take would be Q pulling one funny prank on him before he considers them even (and just to prove himself). Or David could buy him like a popsicle and he'd be happy, lol.

Oh, and considering my revised guess, clearly I'm already onboard the "Jess is kinda losing her mind" train, lol.

Would it be a good idea to have Jess lose her mind? If she does, she'll probably end up dying(being qualified for insanity then, she would be put into a hospital). Or she can become an slightly messed up/spontaneous/dangerous person, similar to Ellis.
Or paranoid. Paranoid enough to point a gun at one of her subordinates

Then maybe have the situation escalates so badly that they have to mercy kill her

Prison break sounds cool. Inside the prison, I'll have Dio overcome his phobia of blood , and stared learning how to use knives

As much as I like Jess and would hate for her to go, I like the idea of her losing her mind that came out oddly sadistic

Or maybe as too much idea said, extremely paranoid

@Aes @too much idea @Nyxione I think I'll have her stop eating, actually, since it was mentioned before. There was a Minnesota Starvation project where men were subjected to 1, 560 calorie diets, and some went insane. I wanted to reference what one man did, and use it for Jess, so please don't look it up yet. Just know that it was only about a 500 calorie difference, from what I see is healthy(2000 calories). So not eating or eating very little will have a profound effect. Feeling like you're going mad also... kinda makes you go mad.

My characters are kind like my babies D: This feels so wrong to be plotting their future out like this xD

Also, @Kade I don't think I saw your reply. Could you tell the difference between Jess in the flashback and how she was in the beginning of the RP(Or others)? If so, I can reference that to be that she's always been down-spiraling, since Halen died. Which I just realized I haven't revealed or thought of yet.

"It's okay, Jess."
"Dad, don't drop me. It hurts. It hurts really bad."

"I'm not going to drop you. I'm a grown man."

"So what? Now-"

"Oh, I know. It happens all the time, believe me."

"I wasn't going to say that."

"Say what?"

"That women can't carry- You do this all the time. I'm serious. My ankle hurts so bad. It's killing me!"

"You're killing me, so I guess we're even," Halen said, beginning to pick up his pace toward the van.

"Don't joke about that. One day you're going to die, for real."

"What! This is breaking news to me," Halen said. "Listen, I know what I was getting into when I joined this thing. So did you. It was your choice. I am going to die one day, sooner or later. And you're going to be just fine. I don't look like it, but I'm really upset that you got hurt."

"Huh. You certainly seem like it."

He just laughed, setting her down in the van after everyone else got in. Ria watched quietly, a little amused.

"Anyway, I'm happy as long as you stay alive."

"You're happy right now?!"

"As a clam. Watch your foot."

He slammed the van door shut.

Jess followed them, gripping the keys tighter. "Guess me, then." She left her apartment, seeing Q at the end of the hall. Seeing Ria was paying more attention to her coffee cup than the newcomer, she caught Ria's attention and pointedly looked towards Q, beginning to walk as the boy made his awkward exit. She began walking again, jumping at the noise from behind her, "HAY! I'M RIA! JESS WANTS ME TO SHOW YOU AROUND AND HELP YOU UNPACK AND STAY WITH YOU UNTIL THEY GET BACK FROM THE THINGIE!"
As she got on the elevator, Jess fired a glare at Ria, begging her to be quiet.

@Kade , ohohoho! Q pranking David is exactly what needs to happen XDD More comic relief scenes <3
That is predominantly what I've been using Switch for, lol. Someone has to ease the tension. I do so love angst though, which you've obviously seen as well with his sad and lonely birthday moment before his ADD reminded him that he was five and it's snowing and there are bunkbeds involved, lol.

I also really love hurt/comfort. Like I am just itching for a certain very simple thing to happen that I can twist into a major health scare, but I don't want to say it 'cause I don't want someone to force it in. If it comes up, cool; if not, I'll write it in a fic later.

Oh, the multiple personality disorder thing? I pulled that from the whole her having clothes the others didn't think she'd own, and randomly feeling like she really wanted to talk to herself in the third person (I mean, Switch does this inside his head all the time, but he's literally just talking at himself because he didn't have real life friends growing up and learned to compensate for that, lol), and I think in one of the posts that I can't remember now it seemed like she sort of lost time for a second (that's how I read it anyway...I think maybe when she went outside and was crying?). Then her general responses to the other characters have been pretty shifty, like bipolar mood swings in half a second flat.

Or I just really like reading details into the things that weren't intentional details, lol.

Ehhh. I don't think DID is what you think it is. While there is some loss of memory, MPD/DID is described as, "a severe condition in which two or more distinct identities, or personality states, are present in—and alternately take control of—an individual. The person also experiences memory loss that is too extensive to be explained by ordinary forgetfulness." There's a change of mood, but people do that naturally. However, Jess could also be hysterical. Hysteria is, "a mental disorder which arises from intense anxiety. The patient loses control over his or her acts and emotions and it is usually accompanied by sudden seizures of unconsciousness with emotional outbursts." I made her this way in the second to last post, when she described it as looking through a window. Then she woke up.

Hysteria is also found most often in young women, and she, as described, has a "craving for love and sympathy and has a tendency towards emotional instability." After learning a bit more about this, I'll show what happened while she wasn't aware/alert("window" time) in my next post.

Oh, yeah, no, I was running with pure cliche fiction, extreme MPD 'cause fictional universe and having Jess practically be Batman and The Joker in one body switching almost constantly so even she wasn't really aware of it would be exciting..... And Alex got up from the dead and is flirting with Erika so clearly real world medical science is not applying in this world, lol. I gave up on that a while back (because I decided I probably shouldn't be the nit-picky one who's being OCD about the deets; otherwise I might annoy people). Normally though I would totally agree. I think I've learned more about anatomy and biology and psychology just from doing research for my writing than anything I've ever learned in school. I'm anal about that sort of thing.

That was actually kind of sad to read :P Jess is a really complicated and isolated character.

Oh, I looked up hysteria and compared it to Erika. "Laughing and crying without cause"... sound like someone?

I have to clock out.

Actually, a person will usually be back to normal as soon as their heart rate is back to normal. Considering Dakota said he was "almost" at Hypervolemic shock, and he stopped the blood immediately after that, I didn't go nuts that Alex woke up. I took it that he wasn't in shock yet because he didn't show any more symptoms, like being pale or cold or having a headache. That might have been a lack of knowledge for @Der Eine, as dizziness and falling asleep is the most well known effect of hemorrhagic shock, but I used it anyway.

I'm more weirded out by the fact that he didn't have long term effects of the drugs he was given, which last an impressive eleven hours. It peaks in the blood around two hours, so Alex should be hit the hardest in a little less than an hour.

I'm probably being more detailed on this than I should, but I just wanted to explain why I brought up hysteria in a real-life way.

I'm off to bed, too.

Oh, yeah, I figured lack of knowledge for sure, but with the amount of blood that was all over everyone and with the fact that he passed out, he should have had the other symptoms. He should've at least needed some assistance getting into the house, after which they should've gotten at least some water into him. But it doesn't matter, really. Alex is proving to be rather entertaining with Erika so I'm glad he's back, lol.

And I actually totally overlooked the thing about the drugs! Maybe Alex is a zombie...

Which I'm also having a ton of fun playing off of with that whole zombie thing with Q, so I'm not really worrying on it more than that aside from the fact that it amuses me. I mean, we're talking about having a prison on the moon. Rules are being bent. It happens. I'll be anal about my own stuff because that's how I am (lol, I literally have three different tabs open with medical facts in case of the slim chance that the hurt/comfort thing I mentioned earlier may come to light) and let everyone else do what they do. People are having fun. It's cool. I'll just be prepared for more snowstorms being dropped on my head in the meantime, lol.

And the hysteria knowledge is cool. I do not even pretend to know much about it, so the extra learning is appreciated. I just don't want people thinking that I just toss things out there without also doing some research unless I've decided the more commonly seen versions of things we're exposed to in fiction are exactly what I'm shooting for. I'm a little prideful of my intelligence. You've noticed, I'm sure. I don't mean to be! It just slips out!

I agree with most of that, but this is dystopian, with no set date. I don't like to specify time and location beyond moderate weather, a certain month, and a time of day. I'll add in holidays and change the weather, but besides that I keep it open. Because, its not even unrealistic now to have a base on the moon, especially considering how dangerous people can really be. That last sentence sounded really unprofessional for some reason. Anyway, I don't think its out of reach even ten years in the future, we just don't have people that dangerous right now. I believe that's why the Rock(Alcatraz) was on an island, just another obstacle for people trying to escape the un-escapeable prison. I'll get a post up soon. Please don't look at it if you're... I don't know. In a good mood? Taking what I know to add onto her symptoms.

Prison on the moon would be awesome for reals. The moon is lonely. No one visits it anymore. And then maybe people would forget they put a prison on the moon and the prisoners would just start their own nation and it'd be a little like Australia 2.0 only without native peoples to procreate with. Unless there are secretly native moon people, lol.

Here. I wanted to explain her behavior without putting it in detail. You don't have to read it. (I have to go to work in less than an hour)

"A hysterical personality typically displays symptoms like seductive behavior, high level of emotional dependency, platonic friendships, intolerance, frustration, capriciousness and irritability.

During fits, such a person becomes hyper-emotional. He exhibits exaggerated feelings like spells of crying spells and tantrums marked with symptoms like:

  • Increasing Abdominal constriction
  • Severe cramps and heaviness in the limbs
  • Palpitations
  • Suffocation and headache
  • Clenched teeth
  • Swelling of the neck
  • Feeling of a foreign body lodged in the throat
  • Laughing or crying without cause

In severe cases the symptoms may be wild and painful cries, enormously swollen neck, incomplete loss of consciousness , violent movements , violent and tumultuous heartbeat and convulsions.

The hysteria patient usually has a weak will power, craving for love and sympathy and has a tendency towards emotional instability. Hysteria trances may last for days or weeks. A patient in trance may seem to be in deep sleep but the muscles are not usually relaxed."

Also similar but more detailed: "The symptoms of hysteria include heaviness in the limbs, severe cramps, a strong feeling of ascending abdominal constriction, continual sighing, difficulty in breathing, constriction in the chest, palpitations, feeling of a foreign body lodged in the throat, swelling of the neck and of the jugular veins, suffocation, headache, clenched teeth, and generalized and voluntary tensing of muscles of locomotion. There are, however, various other symptoms of hysteria, such as an inexplicable urge to perform rigorous activities that will help to let off steam. However, when one tries to perform these activities, such as shouting, one experiences an inability to do so, because of a shut down of the muscular-skeletal system caused by the hysteria... The physical symptoms include a weakness of the will, a craving for love and sympathy, and a tendency towards emotional instability. Hysterical trances may last for days or weeks. A patient in a trance may appear to be in a deep sleep, but the muscles are not usually relaxed. Emotional instability and a weakness of the will can become extremely dangerous for persons suffering from hysteria disease, because it causes them to have rash and imbalanced thoughts that are depressive. These thoughts of depression cause them to take drastic steps that cannot be corrected."

Oh, interesting. It sounds a little like it can be a long term version of essentially a panic attack. Scary. I'm gonna save this research. I like to save things I find interesting for potential future use....on my own poor characters...because I'm a terrible fiction god, lol. Thank you!

Also, poor Jess!

Oh! There are so many game posts I missed! Why are alerts not working??? I need to start looking at the threads on a whim just in case. Christ, I was thinking everyone was busy or something. I didn't get a single alert after the David post following mine. *head/desk*

@Kade its fine ^^ I was wondering why you replied OOC but not IC. I don't like bumping people much :P

Something just happened that I can't really talk about, but I'm going to be acting a little weird. Nothing illegal.

That came out wrong. I'm just not going to be up to par on posts, and I might act different for a while. Heading to bed. I'll post after I wake up(just a couple hours).

Kay. I'm getting caught up with the reading and I'll send a reply, then I'm gonna crash myself. Hope whatever's going on turns out okay!
