Berk, a small island that's twelve days North of Hopeless and a few degrees South of Freezing to Death (the latter two being either figurative modes of speech or, less likely, actual, comically-named places), is located solidly on the Meridian of Misery in the Barbaric Archipelago. Berk is a rather round island, similar to an oval shape, and it looks quite small on maps. It contains many interesting, geological landforms such as rocky arches and cliffs, beaches, waterfalls, streams and several large forests. There is also a massive cavern under the village which now serves as space for dragon stables.

Village

The village is a place where the vikings of Berk live. The village is filled with large houses with an architectural theme of dragons, and the homes are built on land with a gentle slope. However, these homes had to be constantly reconstructed or repaired after being destroyed during a dragon raid.

The Great Hall

A large room with a large circular table at the centre, surrounded by many normal tables. This is where the vikings gather to plan an attack, communal meals, study (if in Dragon Training), hide during bouts of bad weather (in these instances the dragons and if necessary, farm animals, stay here as well), or celebrate. On the wall are portraits of all the previous chiefs and their sons, the most recent one being of Stoick and Hiccup.

Barn

A large barn exists at the base of the cliffs, and in front of it are large pens for the yaks the vikings domesticated. Chickens and sheep are also kept here.

Weapon Storehouse/The Armory

Obviously, a storehouse for weapons. Apparently there is gunpowder or some other explosive substance inside.

The Docks

The Docks in Berk have large individual docks for loading and unloading large cargo into the ships. The docks are built from the large cliff of Raven Point. A wooden walkway is built above the docks to view the ships from. This is where Hiccup stood in the film as he watched the ships sail away to the Dragons Nest.

The Haddock House

The Haddock house is built on top of the high slope overlooking the entire village. Their house is mostly larger in comparison with other homes. This house is next to the Great Hall.

Main Room

The Main Room is the main room after entering. This room consists of a fire pit mainly used for cooking and heat. To the left side are many large steps to the second floor and Hiccup's room. In The Terrible Twos, Stoick is shown to sleep down there.

Hiccup's Room

Hiccup's Room mainly has a wooden bed with patterns carved into the head board. On one post of the foot board is where Hiccup keeps his helmet. At the base of the bed is a small wooden chest. Beside the bed is a table and chair that Hiccup sometimes works at. There is a also a large rock slab that Toothless sleeps on.

Gobber's Blacksmithing Forge

Gobber's Blacksmithing Forge is the main blacksmithing shop of the island and was where the vikings got their weapons during the dragon raids. The forge is spacious with many weapons inside. Lately Gobber has become a dragon dentist, so he put up a sign above the forge with a tooth on it, though the forge is still used. By the second film, it became the greatly expanded Dragon Armory where Gobber continued to practice his dragon dentistry and has dragon saddles built here. Both Hiccup and Stoick worked here on saddle orders.[8]

Hiccup's Workshop

Although it's unverified, Hiccup's workshop is located inside Gobber's blacksmithing forge. This is where Hiccup works, on his own time, to build or plan to build things.

Mildew's House

A gloomy house built in the shadow of a cliff on the edge of the village, away and out of sight from the other houses. According to Gobber, the vikings built it there because they find Mildewannoying.

Gothi's House

A house built high up on top of a cliff, that houses the village elder.

Berk Dragon Training Academy

Once the arena where Dragon Fighting class was held, it also housed several dragon species the vikings had captured for training the younger vikings to fight. There was a Deadly Nadder (Stormfly), a Hideous Zippleback (Barf and Belch), a Gronckle (Meatlug), a Monstrous Nightmare (Hookfang), and a Terrible Terror (Sharpshot).

Raven Point

As stated in the film, Hiccup says he shot down a Night Fury that fell just past Raven Point. Raven Point is a mountain peak filled with forests and steep cliffs. At the base of the tallest peak, lay the docks. This is notable because of a large canyon like structure between the tallest peak and another steep cliff.

The Cove

A large sunken area in the forest with rocks, tree roots, and a pond with fish. It was here Toothless crash landed once Hiccup released him, and this was where they gained each other's trust and friendship.

Dragon Stables

Using the tunnels and cavern created and found following the Whispering Death and Screaming Death attacks. Hiccup and Gobber were able to build the stables with custom stalls for the various dragons. The stables also had storm doors.

Dragon Race Stands

Following the start of Dragon Races, stands were built for the spectators with the chief's chair in the center

A teenage viking walked through the thick undergrowth, bow and arrow in her hands. Her red hair loosely dangling behind her, the large hair clips settled on her head. Her emerald eyes scanned the area around her, as she tightened the grip on her weapon. She huffed, wiping the sweat from her freckled forehead. Plopping down against a rock, she held her sword in her hands, looking up at the blue sky.

The teenager sat there for a while, before movement in the thicket behind her caught her attention. Now alert, she stood up quickly, looking at the thick bushes intently. A few moments later, a growl came from the thicket, and a dragon, dark as the night itself came out, baring its teeth and snarling. Out jumped her trusty dragon, Venice, not snarling, but seemingly smiling. Her massive wings spread completely, making her look a lot larger. "You scared me!" murmured Autumn, shaking her head with a chuckle. She brought her hand up to caress her dragon's cheek. "What are doing out here?" she asked, knowing that her dragon was incapable of response. "You'll give me a heart attack some day, Venice. You'll really be the death of me."

"alright, lock. Let's cool off." high above the ocean, the night fury banked right, straight into the cloud they were edging. "keep it steady." Flint warned as he exited the saddle, standing on his dragons back. He stood this way until he was totally drenched from the moister of the cloud. They shot out the other side. "let's try catching a breeze, eh?" Flint then dived off the back of his dragon, beginning a free-fall to an island beneath them.

Autumn looked around, her bright eyes glimmering with sudden excitement. "Hey Venice..." she started, her eyes wearily darting back and forth. "How would you like to go explore a bit, huh?" asked Autumn, a mischievous tone to her usually soft voice. Venice's massive tail begun to swing rapidly, like a massive deadly dog who was about to play fetch. Venice didn't have her saddle on her, but Autumn didn't mind. "Alright V, let's get going." Autumn said, her voice ecstatic as she meandered over to the side of her beast. She grabbed onto some long fur and tugged herself onto the back of her Dragon, patting Venice's neck, giving it a nice scratch. She the squeezed her legs, and Venice took off into the sky, her massive wings bending the trees behind the pair simply with the wind they created.

Flint continued to free-fall as lock formed up beside him. Lock grinned with his teeth retracted. "goofball!" Flint called over the wind. Lock responded with a grunt. He looked back down to the forest beneath them and spotted movement below. Lock maneuvered himself so Flint could return to the saddle. Though confused, Flint complied. "what's wrong?" he asked, looking out below them as lock began to pull up. Flint saw the reason lock wanted to pull out early. Though only a speck way below, he could make out a dragon. "hmm... Dive for those trees there. Let's investigate." lock did. They dove quickly, slowing down at the last possible second and landing in a small clearing. Lock the scurried into the trees while Flint kept an eye on the other dragon. "it's okay, lock. She seems to have a rider... Let's go greet them." they took off again. "full speed." lock complied and they blazed past the pair. On the way past, Flint called out. "race you to that spire!!" in the distance of where Flint and lock were headed, there was a tall stone spire which flattens off at the top.

As much as Autumn was up for it, Venice was having none of it. The dragon Snarled, her ears pinning, her mouth glowing, as well as the patterns on her body. "Venice!" Autumn shouted, trying to veer the head of the best away so the two strangers were out of their line of fire. "Don't you dare!" Autumn snapped, pulling hard. It was merely the Dragon's defense mechanism, and there was nothing Autumn could do. Time seemed to slow as the dragon spat it's ball of condensed electricity and fire. Autumn screamed, trying to warn them, but there was no way she would be heard over the explosion. Autumn's yanking did have some effect, because the massive blast merely missed the two, and shot passed them to nail the spire. The stone crumbled, shattering under the immense shock at heat. It seemed to explode, debris flying everywhere. "Damnit V! What the hell?" Autumn spat, pulling hard on the beast's neck. "You're an idiot!"

Lock heard the plasma bolt being fired, and immediately performed a barrel roll thankfully, Flint had been holding on tightly and was hunkered down, so he wasn't thrown off. Lock flew in behind the spire, clinging to the back side. "okay, not as friendly as I thought. Nice dodge." Flint complimented. "I'll climb up to see where they're at." fly t began to climb up onto locks head and on to the spire from there. Lock gave him a little boost by allowing Flint to stand on his nose as he himself began to climb up. Flints head popped up above the spire and he searched the skies for the dragon that had shot at them.

Venice grunted, growling for seemingly no good reason. Perhaps she was grumpy, or perhaps she thought these strangers were dangerous, but she simply wouldn't comply with Autumn. Now, Autumn wouldn't deal with this sort of nonsense, but at the time there was nothing she could do. They were above tree level, and she wasn't going to get mad at this altitude. But it seemed it didn't matter. Something was up with her dragon. She was tipsy in the air, tilting from one side to the other. "Venice?" questioned Autumn, her voice softening. "Are you alright?". Her questioning did nothing, for within seconds the dragon was plummeting to the ground. Perhaps the blast had drained her, which was odd since Venice could rapid fire, so clearly there was something else wrong with her.

"Pull up!" Autumn screamed. "Pull up!".

The Dragon jerked back, it's seizing wings shaking violently. The sudden pull caused Autumn to lung forward, smashing her head off the back of her dragons skull, and collapsing unconscious on the beast's back. This fly was going terrible. Venice couldn't control her body, but did her absolute best to protect Hannah as the two smashed into the ground, leaving an explosion of dust and rocks around them.

"Ooohh dear." Flint pushed himself backwards off the cliff. Lock followed, thrusting himself up, and Flint grabbed the harness. "they crash landed." Flint told lock as he rolled so they were upright. Lock began to fly away from the other pair. "no,we're going to see if they're okay." lock deadpanned and turned around, towards the dissipating dust cloud. They landed a shirt ways away and wandered through the forest to where they lay. Flint climbed off locks saddle and cautiously walked towards the dragon on the ground. "hello? Are you okay?" he asked. Lock moved himself so, if he had to blast the dragon, he could do so without hitting Flint by mistake.

Autumn was out cold. She wasn't injured, besides her head, but she wouldn't be waking for a little bit. Venice, however, was already on her feet, standing protectively over her rider. She had her teeth bared and her ears pinned, but it was obvious that the creature was violently shaking. With Autumn placed neatly on the ground, Venice coiled her sleek, fluffy body around the girl, eyeing the strange pair that approached, keeping a hostile attitude towards them. Her body still trembled, indicating that she was scared. Why the beast was scared was uncertain, perhaps it was because she had never seen one of a similar kind, or perhaps it was because these strangers could be lethal, but she stood her ground. If they wanted Autumn they were going to have to go through her first.

"hey, it's okay girl. Look..." he held his arms out, gesturing to his lack of either strength or weapons. "I'm not gonna hurt you, okay?" he slowly stepped closer, hand out in the usual method for testing the trust of a dragon.

A soft gurgle bubbled in the dragon's mouth, deep withing her lungs and rupturing through her throat. It was a warning, perhaps, though there was truly no way to tell. Venice snorted, usual wide eyes narrowing, her pupil slits minuscule through her massive orange eyes. She tightened her grip around her rider, though her slowly forward creeping ears symbolized curiosity.

Flint was not phased by it. Lock had his off days, too, though Flint had other methods for dealing with him. Nice wet slap of an eel. He continued to step closer, almost within reach. He stopped there, allowing the dragon to cover the remaining few inches between them.

Venice's massive head swooned, her broad neck swinging as she surveyed the area. She huffed, backing away slightly, recoiling away from the odd boy. Her body still shook, however, she knew that the odd pair meant no harm, but she was reluctant. Suddenly, with a swift jerk she bolted up, and stood behind Autumn, stalking a few feet away and grumbling something that only she could understand. She curled up away from them, still watching them to make sure they didn't do anything drastic.

"oh, well okay then. I'll check on her first." he stepped closer to the from on the ground. He knelt down to examine her for any wounds. He only found a nice big egg on her head. "ouch. That's a gonna hurt in five minutes." he muttered to himself. "lock, find me a little Moss." lock did not comply. "you'll get tuna for dinner instead of salmon." lock now complied with great haste, wandering away, to shortly return with a rock covered in Moss. "thank you." he says as he peeled a clump off the rock. He moved a few locks of hair away from the bruise and applied the Moss.

Autumn groaned loudly, shifting slightly under the cold touch of the dampened soft moss. Venice snarled, ears pressed against her skull, snapping at the man. Venice slowly stood, her massive frame blocking the sunlight that dully seeped through the branches of the canopy of trees above. Another moan escaped Autumns tight lips, as she shifted again. Venice slowly made her way to her riders side, plopping on the ground beside her and watching carefully as the boy helped her.

Flint helmet the Moss held to her forehead as her dragon came closer. He didn't flinch at the snap. Lock, again had his moods. Then the girl moaned. "hey, you okay?" he asked again. He gave her a couple of gentle nudges, while keeping the Moss pressed gently to her bruise. "hellooo. Wake up, Sunshine."

Autumn grumbled, her bright green eyes slowly fluttering open. Tears had mustered her vision, her eyes leaking from the sudden pain, but she wasn't crying. The girl groggily brought a hand up to her head, rubbing it gently when she felt the moss, and then the hand holding the moss. Her eyes widened and she quickly jolted her hand away, looking up at Flint. "Ah!" she squeaked, scrambling backward. "Who... who are you? What are you doing?" she asked, rather confused. She was still dazed over the incident.

Flint backed away, to show he means no harm. "just a guy helping someone who needed help. My name is Flint. I think I'm partially the reason you and your dragon crashed. I've never seen a Night Fury act this way before." he sat down, and lock came and flumped beside him, forcing his head under flints arm. Flint pet his leathery head. "then again, I've never seen a Night Fury with feathers...." he mumbled to himself.

Venice let out a satisfied grunt, as if she was happy with being different, and there was no doubt she was. Autumn ran her hands through her hair awkwardly, sitting up and brushing the dirt off of her clothes. "Well thank you comrade" she said simply, her awkward gaze shifting from side to side. She shifted to her knees, still a bit dizzy. Venice seemed to have calmed down, which was a good sign. "I really should be going." she stated, her voice dull and groggy.

"wouldn't, if I were you. Whatever happens to your dragon might happen again. Perhaps one should just wait a while to ensure the health of her dragon?" he asked. "as well as herself." he continued.

"Hmm?" The girl questioned, stretching her limbs slightly. "I'm fine." she stated, gently pressing a finger to the sore spot on her head. "Just a bruise, that's all." she said with a rather goofy grin. She sighed "I suppose you're right though, I'm not sure what's gotten into her." Autumn explained, rubbing her shoulder awkwardly. "I'm sorry about what she did."

"meh." he shrugged. "she missed us. If she hit us, I'd be mad." lock grunted. He actually was mad at her for firing at them. He would receive a bonk on the head by Flint. "behave, or tuna." lock shuddered, and sat up, eyes wide and adorable. "yeah, locks still young in the mind. Excuse him if he starts drooling over your dragon." Flint smirked, and got bonked by lock. Flint chuckled, having received a bite from his teasing.

Autumn just chuckled, shrugging her shoulders. The lack of hostility eased Venice, and with time the dragon was curled up beside the girl again, letting Autumn lean on her fluffy back for support. She sighed softly, looking at Lock with a twinkle in her bright eyes. "I've never seen another one before. Perhaps Venice isn't Night Fury after all" she stated, looking at Venice who just cocked her head and gave her a goofy grin, crossing her big orange eyes.

"She's one of a kind alright."

Flint looked up to lock. "well? Aren't you going to introduce yourself?" he asked. Lock groaned lowed his head a little. "yes. You have to. Go." on two legs, lock wandered over and licked the girl, all the way up her front. Nice and drooly. He sat like a dog and wagged his tail about happily.
