Fandom The Riders of Berk

Autumn let out a genuine laugh, flicking the slobber off of her jacket. "It's nice to meet you too, Lock." she said simply, scratching the beast under it's chin, his scales warm against the tips of her fingers. Venice, on the other hand, just huffed, curling further into a ball as she avoided the group. "Come on now Venice." Autumn called, "Stop being such a buzzkill."

Lock promptly collapsed at the chin scratches, as dragons do. He was suddenly asleep. "and now we lost him for half an hour." said Flint, standing. "I still haven't gotten your name yet." he pointed out as he attempted to approach Venice.

(Internet issues, pardon late responses.)

"My name is Autumn." The bright eyed girl said simply, her voice crisp now that the groggy slurr had gone from her head injury. "That hunk of fur and feather is Venice, who is acting strangely unusual today." Autumn stated with a slight shrug, gesturing to her dragon. "I've met Lock, so who exactly are you?" she questioned.

Venice simply shuffled closer to Autumn, snorting the air.

"I guess your head was still a little fuzzy when I said my name is Flint." he still stopped closer to Venice. "she looks gorgeous.." he complimented. "..... Maybe a subspecies of Night Fury's?"

"Must have hit it way harder than I thought." Autumn remarked with a groan, softly pressing her fingers to the sore spot upon her head once more. She shifted her gaze to Venice, who was excluding herself from the group.

"You hear that, V?" Autumn called, "He said you were gorgeous" she said, mocking the dragon ever so slightly. She just huffed a cloud of smoke from her mouth, forming into a little heart.

"She likes you." stated Autumn with a smile.

"well, aren't you a sweetie." he said. He held his hand out to her again.

(sorry for mini post. Got some studies to do.)

All good, would you like to continue later?

Venice just scoffed, letting out a few grunts that sounded much like a chuckle. She raised her tail and brought it down, flicking Flint's face gently, keeping her head buried into her soft arms. "I guess she's being a bit shy, is all." Autumn concluded, her goofy smile pursed upon her lips as she watched her dragon react.

Flint chuckled at the dragons actions. "I can understand that. Anyhow, what might a girl like you be doing out here? Hunting maybe?" he asked. He sat down and shuffled a little closer to Venice. Lock remained unconscious on his side.

Autumn looked at the bow and arrows that were sprawled out on the ground, dirtied by the soil around them. "I forgot about that." she admitted, looking at her weapon. She stood and collected her stuff, using the back of her hand to wipe the dust and debris. She sat back down beside Venice, leaning on the beast. "I don't exactly remember" she explained with a shrug. Not like it really mattered anyway.

"with a know like that, I'd expect you to forget a few things for a little while. Anyway, any theories why Venice's acted strangely?" he sidled even closer to Venice's head he could almost reach out and touch her now. "other than shooting at me. That would have been my fault."

Autumn let out a groan, a wave a throbbing pain rushing through her head. She did her best to ignore the pain. "I wish I knew." she started, shrugging her shoulders. " I think she was just a little surprised. "It's not every day we see fliers out here, nevermind riders with Night Fury's" Autumn explained.

"I was surprised too."

"well, Surprise. I'm here and he's there." he pointed to lock. "and making a rather large puddle of drool..." he noticed. He reached a hand out for a third time to pet Venice. If she allows him, he'd give her a scratch behind the ear.

Venice simply flattened her ears, but she didn't make any immediate attempts to move. Perhaps she wanted the scratch, or maybe she was too lazy to care anymore, but either way she didn't movie. Autumn just continued to sit, crossing one leg over the other as she leaned into the fur of her dragon. She looked to the sky and the sun was setting. The girl yawned, stretching her arms slightly. "We can't go home tonight." she murmured to herself, "We'll have to camp" she concluded.

Flint proceeded to apply scratches behind Venice's ear. "well, that'll be fun, won't it?" after a few moments, he stopped and stood, to walk towards lock. "if you'll excuse me, I have a little stash of camping gear on one of the other islands. And a friend of mine is about to wake up. Back in... About ten minutes if this one wakes up." he proceeded to poke lock. "hay. Wake up." lock squirmed and rolled over belligerently. "watch this. This is how you get a dragon to really work with you when he, or she, is in a Fowl mood. Lock! Don't make me get an eel!" lock cringed at the mention of the dreaded eel. He rolled on to his feet. "atta boy. You can go fishing when we get back." Flint climbed aboard, and braced himself for flight. "back in ten!" he said, before lock launched them both skyward.

Autumn stood, brushing the back of her ridiculously soft pants. She sighed softly, murmuring a soft "thank you" under her breath. She meandered over to her dragon who was sleeping rather peacefully, which was nice because Autumn knew that Venice surely needed a nap. Hopefully when the creature awoke she would be in a better mood. Autumn grinned and crawled into her dragon's back, sprawling out on her beastly bed as she soaked the last rays of sunlight that poured through the branches.

Flint, true to his word, returned roughly ten minutes later with locks saddle Leiden with simple camping gear. Flint unhooked the two satchels, hanging them from a tree, and only taking small tube, the might be used for transporting parchments. Lock waited for Flint to remove the saddle before wandering over near Venice and rolling on his back. This would be his favourite sleeping position. Flint, with the tube in his hands, made his way to lock and lay down his wing, leaning against his body. Flint opened one end of the tube, but closed it again. He turned it around and opened the other side. Neatly tucked into the fuzz Inside the tube, was an elf owl who poked her head out, chirruping happily. "hey, chip. How are you?" he whispered, though didn't expect an answer. Chip gave a sing-songy chirp, and Flint responded with the same whistle.

Autumn poked her head over, looking at the own with a massive grin spread across her freckled cheeks. "Oh my gosh." Started Autumn, sitting up on her dragon. "She's adorable!" The girl remarked, before turning her head to notice Lock laying down nearby. She smiled at the dragon, who was already ready to sleep.

There was a shrill chirp, and suddenly the other end of the tube popped open and the little owl fell out. She hit the ground gently and quickly stood. She stared at Autumn and Venice for a moment, then scampered away to hide behind Flint in the crook of locks wing. The poor things wing looked singed beyond use. Flint raised his arm to look where the owl went. "well, that was unexpected." he chuckled. He moved the tube so chip could hop back in. He capped the back end. "yeah, she's shy too."

"Her wing..." Started Autumn, clear concern ringing in her soft voice. "The poor little thing... What happened to her?" Autumn questioned, he head tilted ever so slightly. "She can't fly?" The girl asked, before watching the little avian hop back into the little tube. She wasn't too sure how the bird was comfortable in there, but she didn't question it, because clearly the owl liked it in there, probably due to her shy nature.

Inside the tube was a soft fur, making it quite Comfortable for its one occupant. "I rescued her from from a forest fire. The tree her nest was in was actually falling when I grabbed her. A few embers set her wing alight a few moments before. I doused her with water from my canteen, but her feathers were already burnt away. She only fledged a week ago." chip whistled, and Flint responded. He looked down the open end of the tube and poked his finger in. "I pretty much saved her life." he concluded.

(I didn't see that this started and I'm on a Nearly dead phone. Can in jump in later?)

"That's so kind of you." spoke Autumn, her voice quiet and ridiculously soft. "I'm glad she's alive, though it is truly unfortunate her gift of flight has been taken from her. It's a big part of an owls life..." she started, shrugging her shoulders "But she seems happy, and that's all that matters" she concluded, before stretching her body out. She let out a yawn, and soon after so did Venice. She patted the head of her beast and rubbed her eyes, looking at the sky that was now freckled with stars, the moon blazing.

Flint sighed as he scratched the birds feathers. "I usually stay up late to play with her. Since during the day she's sleeping. I hope you don't mind her chirping."
