The Rebel [KurtH6355]

Francis nods. "I'm sorry, but I must. Rest in peace, Watchman." He says, before tazing him once more, and then stabbing him in the throat. He clips his radio onto the uniform which Francis had donned, just incase. He pockets the female Officer's.

"Fine." Francis complies with Maci, handing her an Orderkeeper and two magazines for it, keeping the rest, and taking his swingmaster back. He helps the backpack onto Maci's shoulders. "Okay. Let's get the fuck out of here." Francis says.

He and Maci once again depart in search of an exit, vaguely following the directions of the male Officer, incase he was leading them into a trap.

The cop convulses violently after the tasing, and you quickly stick him in the neck with your knife, causing him to gurgle and spurt blood before going still.

You switch uniforms and take the two radios, and give Maci her new items. She follows you outside.

After a few moments of walking in the direction the officer told you of, you can hear a few voices ahead.

Francis whispers for Maci to get down, and the two crouch against the wall, hiding behind anything in the passage their in. Francis waits and listens, trying to distinguish anything that would tell him weather those ahead are watchmen.

You and the mutie girl duck down and try to remain quiet while you listen to the voices ahead.

"Sectoral, detainees have been extracted. DB count on armed malefactors is six. Sweep still in progress, over," you hear a male voice say. Somebody else coughs.

Francis looks around for a nearby hiding spot. If he can find none, they head back to the room to hide, waiting for the Watchmen to pass so that they can continue on.

Looking around, you see the entrance to what seems like some sort of maintenance room on your left. "Think that's locked?" Maci asks, whispering.

Trying the doorknob, you find that it is locked. Luckily, it doesn't make much noise, because the sounds of the radio chatter don't appear to draw any closer.

"Let's head back to the room, and let them pass. If we find another hiding spot on the way, we'll hide there. C'mon!" Francis whispered to Maci, before swiftly, in a crouched stance, headed back to the room.

Maci nods, and you both retreat back to the room containing the two dead Watchmen. After a few minutes, you hear the sound of the cop moving past, going deeper into the tunnel. It should probably be be clear, at this point.

"Alright, now we're out of here." He says to Maci, and he once again heads toward an exit, moving quicker and making a bit of noise, wanting to desperately get out of the damn tunnels.

You and Maci get moving again.

You find a side door, leading off somewhere to else in the tunnels.

But you also find a stairway that presumably leads to the surface. However... you can hear distant sirens up there, suggesting the presence of authorities.

"What do you think? Risk it? I could put you in cuffs, and if no one is nearby, we can probably get away with the disguise." Francis says to Maci.

Maci seems uncertain about your plan. "That cop from earlier saw who you were in like... five seconds, dude," she says. "Even if they buy it, what if they start giving you orders or something?" she asks. "Something could screw up. But at the same time, I wanna get out of these tunnels... I mean, shit."

"I mean... I don't know, would they check the same room twice?" the mutie girl asks. "Shit, I don't know. But maybe we could do that," she said with a shrug. "If anything happens, we're screwed, though."

"I got a plan in mind for if they do come to check it. Let's head back there, and wait for a while. Tell me if you here 'im comin' when we're in there." Francis says, as he and Maci return to the room.

Maci shrugs, and follows you back into the room. She sits down on the floor and exhales tiredly, looking at you. "What's your plan?" she asks.

"Well, I got two - Either when they start coming, I spout off some stuff about a bunch of homeless people attacking a sweep on the other side of the tunnels and hope to distract them all to there, or, we both play dead and cover ourselves with the blood of these two Watchmen." Francis says, thinking quickly.

"They have radios and shit, though. Somebody would tell them on the radio, if they were getting attacked," Maci says, picking at her fingernails a little. "And... I don't know about the whole 'playing dead' thing. I definitely don't want to get picked up by a Corpse Disposal Unit." She winces a little at the thought of it.

"You got better ideas?" Francis asks. "And we can act like we are the people being attacked. You really think they'd give a shit about grabbing some tunnel people bodies, anyway? We just have to mangle the Watchmen's faces beyond identification, and stash or destroy the uniforms. Then they'll just think a bunch of us died in here. Worth a shot, ain't it? If you got better ideas lemme know." Francis says.

"I don't know, man..." The mutie girl scratches the back of her head and thinks for a moment. "Think we could just go deeper into the tunnels? There's that other passageway we saw," she says to you. "It might lead to another, smarter place to exit. I just don't wanna get caught by the cops. Our asses will get executed if we stay down here."

Francis is conflicted. "Could lead to more Watchmen, though...Fuck it. It'd be better to stay mobile. Keep the initiative. C'mon." Francis says, before walking out and sneaking toward the passageway.

"Righto, let's get a move on," Maci says, her Orderkeeper kept in both hands at the ready. As you move down the passageway, you find that there is no sign of any life here. There's a few articles of trash here and there, but they seem ancient. No burnt-out barrel fires, or any working lights whatsoever. You are forced to use your flashlight.

You and Maci come across a makeshift palisade, presumably set-up as an attempt at blocking off further access to the tunnel. However, it seems rather thrown-together and could easily be bypassed. The wooden planks across the door look like they could be pried off, with effort. Still, Maci seems a little nervous.
"Looks like someone doesn't want us going in there," she remarks.

"If we can climb through or over without dismantling it, we can hide somewhere on the other side - Maybe the Watchmen won't reach us. You say anywhere we could climb through?" Francis asks, inspecting the barricade.
