Fantasy The Omni Initiative

"That," Eliana motioned to the pile of debris, then to the armored girl, "I can do for you." She side-stepped over to the pile, and picked up a shard of broken metal, its tip perfectly pointed, and shining slightly in the bright fluorescent lights. "I assume you want the blood just above your bindings, not just your cheek, correct?" She waited for an answer, but held the shard above the girls wrists, ready.

7:00 A.M.

The room they kept him in was sterile. In fact it was so sterile that every breath he took burned of antiseptic and peppermint. There were no windows, only the white tiles that he counted over and over and over again that kept him from going insane. It wasn't bad, he guessed. He had a bed, a mirror, a small dresser and a bookshelf. The experiments they preformed on him were only mildly injurious and nothing he couldn't recover from... But he hated it. He hated the antiseptic and the dresser and the white linen sheet that covered the bed.

The only thing he had to comfort him were the bugs. Spiders, flies, common ants. They all crawled beneath the glass that separated his room from the outside world. They would talk for hours about whatever was on his mind. Spiders were good to talk to when scared, if that made any sense. Maybe spending ones life living as a fear could help with dealing with fear itself. Flies were not good conversationalists but they were always around if he wanted to check on the weather outside or the daily gossip of the staff. Ants were very talkative, usually spouting praise of their queen and giving Klaus a detailed account of what life was like in a colony.

Full Subject Release Initializing...

He was on his bed when he heard the alarm. Looking around wildly, he stepped tentatively off his bed and pressed his face against the glass. There was no one in the hallway, no researchers or test subjects... No one. He stepped back and focused his mind to the nearest insect that he could find. He heard a fly buzzing in the corner and focused his mind on the insect. After a few minutes of trying he connected minds and took control of the fly.

Being a fly was really dazzling. Their eyes were so different from human eyes and the way they could sense things around them was amazing. What looked like a minuscule sliver in tile was a crevice to a fly. He flew through it and entered the hallway, his little fly wings buzzing wildly. Suddenly, he heard a vibrations from down the hall. It sounded like some kind of commotion, so he flew towards it. There he saw a thrall of energy, all heated beings, all alive. Humans... Or at least, partially humans, seeing as they were all part of the Omni Initiative.

Klaus released his control on the fly and it meandered away, far from where his mind could reach it.

Subject Release Imminent...

The intercom blared this announcement and Klaus felt the smallest of grins grace his lips. He heard the click on the door unlock. Freedom. But what was freedom if there was no fashion? He stepped back from the glass and went back to his dresser and pulled out his finest suit. A present from the researchers for being so obliging. He had always dreamed of wearing this as he stepped into freedom and today, he guessed, was destiny. He slipped it on, the material cool against his warm flesh.

"Well," he murmured, surveying himself in the mirror. He was vain, he knew it. "I best be getting out."

Barefooted, he stepped out of the chamber and relished the metal against his feet. He breathed in and out, deeply.

"I'm going to make new friends," he grinned and then began to walk towards the crowd of newly released subjects.

Now equipped with his man purse Yuma was on the move once again, this time he was walking thought empty hallways. It had seemed that everyone had already made it far into the facility, and who was the blame them. But one thing was on Yuma's mind, what if this was another test? He imagined the crushed expressions of everyone face when they found out there freedom was false, it made him loudly laugh to himself, the laugh echoed down the empty metal hall of the facility and went ahead of Yuma. "Seems like even my voice wants to get out faster than me." But the thought that this could all be another test lingered in his mind.

Yuma heard chatter as he continued walking down the hallway, quiet at first but slowly it grew louder and louder until Yuma turned a corner and regrouped with the mob of test subjects. He sighed and put his hands into his

pockets.
"And now freedom has a wait list, just great." Yuma said as he took small strides closer and closer to the mob, taking his time so maybe he wouldn't have to deal with the line. As he walked by a random subject (@bourgeoisiemustache) he deiced to strike up a conversation. "So whats the first thing your gonna do with your freedom pretty boy?"

He was strolling down the passage, trailing the his long, spider-like fingers over the metal hallways and he closed his eyes taking in all the sights and sounds around him. Well, at least until he was interrupted by a friendly voice directed towards him. He turned his head to see a boy that was a few inches shorter than he was with brown hair and a devilish grin. Klaus immediately felt a connection and smiled back. This would be his first conversation outside of the insects. He never bothered to talk to any of the researchers. They weren't good conversationalists.

"So whats the first thing your gonna do with your freedom pretty boy?" he asked and Klaus turned towards him. The spiders had told him that in general, humans, did not like offerings of beetles or ants as an introduction present and anyways Klaus had none to begin with. So, he did what the spiders said to do when he didn't have any treats to offer. He struck out his hand in a casual human greeting; a handshake.

"Well," he said. "I'd like to have a milkshake. The flies say that those are particularly delectable. Of course, I would settle for ice cream, which also has a high rating amongst the flies. Either would do." He inspected the boy quietly. He didn't sense any signs of mental distress or that this person would be dangerous to stick with. "My name is Klaus Biekart. Say, this place is dangerous, isn't it? We should stick together, for safety's sake."

Solarex Queen

The teen shook her head, "You can't cut through the suit.... Just do my cheek and I'll figure out a way to get rid of these cuffs and armor..." She stared at the thin, smokey gray shard with her dull eyes and waited for the stinging pain to dance on her skin. Hopefully, this could work... Well, it had to... If the blood from her cheeks reached her mouth guard, then her lips and teeth would be free. And then she could try to draw blood out of her tongue and spit on her cuffs.... This strategy should be able to work... Unless, she misses and her bloody saliva hits the ground.... She could try again?....

"By the way, My name is Solarex." Solarex said, turning her head, so that the side of her face was towards the blue haired lady. She bluntly glared at the two professors who were caught in the flexible woman's grasp. What were the experiments going to do about them? Kill them? Keep them as hostages? The teen wanted to get them back, after all, all they did to her was poke, slice, and inject serums into her. And the fact that a young little girl was here too, meant they did the same to her, how cruel of them. They deserved more than death...

Once the group had gotten over Kendall's suden appearance, themusclehead immediately began trying to manhandle the Professor, who was still encased in Marina's stretchy arm.

"Listen to me! You can't bring us to the front entrance, they'll mow us down along with you!" Professor Haralson stated

"Like I'd listen to a pansy ass like you!" Kendall barked

"I'm just a handyman bro!" Andrew cried out "I've never even seen a test!"

"Probably can't see much from behind that gut."

Kendall continued arguing with the two employees while Marina turned to the rest of the subjects "My name is Marina, and my agitated hunk of meat over there is Kendall." she said with a small smile "Does anyone know why they let us out?"

(@yumiyukifan1 @Scattered Ambitions @Kenzimalija @RoyalPhoenix32 @jmcknight08)

"Alright." Eliana nodded, as she sliced a thin red line down Solarex's cheek, letting the blood spill over the girls face, and down to the mouth guard covering her mouth. She was about to pull away from the red stuff screaming down the girls fave, when a drop of it touched her hand. It burned, it burned like hell. "Agh!" she exclaimed, yanking her hand away from Solarex's face and blood. "Geez, you weren't kidding when you said it was acidic. It really fucking burns." She turned to the little girl,mand bent down a bit to get on eye level with the child. "Hey, so I need to go do something, will you please stay with Solerax here, until I get back?" Without waiting for an answer, she strode over to the small group, consisting of one angry male exparament, one calmer female one, and two, terrified looking men. "Hey, I have a suggestion. How does human shield sound to you? That way only you two," she pointed to Andrew and Professor Harlason, "would get killed."

@GrieveWriter @Kenzimalija @yumiyukifan1

"Sullivan." He calmly introduced himself, cautious to stick his hand out for a handshake. He found himself to be awfully professional for just being released after so long. He pressed his back against the wall, still slightly concerned for his safety. The girl, Marina, had struck an absolutely great question. Why did they let them go? Clearly they were dangerous, he hadn't missed the piles of bodies and the powers showcased before him in the past little while. He wondered if it was some sort of test, something more to the experiments.

"This one would like to know as well. Why would they release all of us into the outside world without anyone knowing how much of an impact our appearances would be to people outside the labs?"

Ezra said piping up as people talked around her. While she didn't like either one, they were innocent till they proved otherwise....

"I have a question for the handy man; since you know almost every exit there is in this place, which one would draw the least amount of attention to us? And which way to go to get to it? If you answer wrong, I'm sure some people would love to make you squeal."

Arthur said as she took control and squatted down near the two terrified men.

Axia never fond of dreaming, because that's usually where she encountered her nightmare. It was always the same, and it's keep being repeated as if her conscious is a broken video tape. But she is fond of sleeping, at least that way she doesn't need to talk to her self just to kill her boredom.

Today started just like another day for her, sleeping and only wake up when the guard shoves in her food.

But it never come. Instead, there is loud talking voices from the outside.

Axia woke up, rubbing her eyes and yawned as she stood up. She pressed her hands against the door, and much to her surprise it opened. Axia peeked out and see a group of people standing and talking, from their appearance they are 'her kind'

Axia decided to keep her distance, and continue to observe everything from her cell.

"Looks like we have a literal lord of the flies over here!" Yuma said, cracking his usual devilish smile all the while. Yuma's tail wagged back and forward at the mentions of milkshakes and ice cream, he licked his lip in anticipation. "Sounds like a date then! The first thing we will do when we leave is get us a milkshake! Or ice cream depending on the availability of the former." Yuma took Klaus's hand within his own and began dragging him to the exit. "The names Yuma pretty boy, and before you ask, yes, it is a real tail." To further prove that point Yuma wagged his tail incredibly close to Klaus's face, lightly brushing his nose. A playful smile lined Yuma's face as he let his tail explore all over Klaus's upper body. Yuma stopped when he was at the edge of the mob, the front doors were close but no one was leaving. Maybe there was a reason for that. Yuma looked up at Klaus and asked. "What do you think, front door or roof?"

@bourgeoisiemustache

Yuma's tail pleasantly tickled Klaus's nose and he examined it with interest. The tail was his and it looked to be fully functional. He had seen things like this on the monkeys in his zoology books. Their tails were used for stability and swinging. Klaus wondered if Yuma's tail could swing but before he could ask, Yuma stopped dragging him and began to peer at the gathered people. None had left. There was a various assortment of motley folks, each different ages and heights. Klaus thought he saw a child in the crowd and felt disgust tingle at the back of his throat.

"What do you think, front door or roof?" Yuma asked and Klaus put his prosthetic finger up to his mouth, pensively.

"Well," he rasped. "It might be nice to know what we're up against. Let's go through the front." He grinned and straightened out his suit, running his hands over the fine material. Then, he focused his mind on all the insects in a one mile radius from where he was. He had never used his power like this before and felt the thrall of insects almost overwhelm him. He doubled over and made a soft gagging noise. Connecting his mind to all of them would be hard but not impossible. For a couple of seconds he stood there, doubled over, with his hands over his ears. He had to find just the right spot for his mind to connect....And there!
Click, It was done.

Klaus rose, running his tongue over his parched lips. "Let's make an exit."

"Front it is pretty boy!" Yuma said while he gave one last wag of his tail. He began to walk but halted suddenly when he saw Klaus doubled over and gag for no real reason, as far as Yuma could see. He moved next to Klaus and began patting his back in a rhythmic fashion. Maybe Klaus was chocking on something? Yuma removed his hand when he felt Klaus rise, he scanned Klaus up and down for any visible injuries but saw none.

"Yo, if your gonna kneel over and die then do it after we get a milkshake k?" Yuma said with an impish grin. As far as human went Klaus hadn't punched, stabbed or otherwise injured Yuma, so he would say the two were getting along good so far. Would Yuma be crushed if Klaus died right here and now? No. But Yuma would be disappointed, thats just the type of guy he is. This time, without grabbing Klaus's hand, Yuma lead him to the front doors. Yuma walked past what seemed to be a squirmish but didn't pay it too much mind. With no hesitation, Yuma opened the doors and was imminently greeted by a rush of cold wind that sent a chill all over his body. "So, where can a guy get a milkshake I wonder?"

@bourgeoisiemustache @GrieveWriter

Klaus shivered as the door opened. The wind shook him to his very core but he paid it no mind.

He grinned at Yuma. "I don't know," he said. "Milkshakes must be hard to come by."

He stepped outside and he felt the coldness on his feet. This was to be the first time that he had been outside his entire life. The cold was welcoming compared to the temperature controlled room that he spent his existence in. Of course, he was well cared for there, excepting the routine and tortuous experiments that the researchers did on him. But now he was free. Free enough to get a milkshake and free enough to walk through those doors.

He focused his mind on the nearest bug he could find. It was a cockroach. He made contact with it and asked it politely if it knew what a milkshake was. The cockroach had heard from the flies that it was some kind of cold, sugar mountain. Klaus ordered it to scout out the area outside in search of one.

Klaus turned back to Yuma. "But don't worry. I have plenty of little friends who will help us. While they look for the milkshake, would you like to take a nice tour of our new freedoms? I would love a walk outside." He grinned pleasantly. This was going to be fun.

@Rantos @GrieveWriter

"You lot don't understand, if we go out there we risk allowing them out into the city!" Haralson tried explaining as he stopped struggling and just tried to get his message across

"Them?!?" Cried Andrew, clearly not in the know

"I don't give two craps whether or not the guys downstairs get out!" Kendall bit as he leaned forward "I just want to get out myself, they can have the damn city for all I care!"

"I know, someone like you couldn't think about consequences like this" Haralson said with an angry sigh before continuing "but if you don't help us contain the FoulMorphs then it'll be just as bad out there within the hour!"

As Haralson continued trying to explain, Andrew tried answering the question posed to him as two subjects passed them by.

"Look I just enter and exit through the front door when I can, the only other noticeable exits are the loading-"

"Wait!" Haralson cried out as the two subjects neared the front door "Don't open the-!"

The Outside was horrible, two burning MBC vehicles littered with several dead soldiers and a plethora f Civilian and Subject corpses littered the front of the building. Off in the distance, smoke poured from several sources as the sounds of gunfire, screams and the occasional laughter created a chorus that almost drowned out the various car alarms. Sirens sounded here and there with an automated response: {All inner city inhabitants, please try to stay in your homes and keep locked up. Once complete in our evacuation of the Outer city , teams will be sent into the inner Sections post haste}

Haralson watched on with wide eyes as a car full of civilians drove by, several tattered looking Test Subjects jumped in front of the vehicle while one of them quickly rose a a barrier of earth from the ground. The car crashed, and the occupants were quickly mowed down by the Subjects, who seemed to be wielding stolen MBC weaponry. Once they were dead, a test subject approach and began performing necromancy as the others took potshots at the surrounding buildings.

"My god." the Professor said in terrified awe of his surroundings

"The hell happened?" Kendall asked as he stepped outside as well and took in the new scenery "This place wasn't like this when I was captured."

"I know," Marina sighed as she leaned against the doorway with the two employees in tow "there was an extreme lack of bodily fluids staining everything."

"Damn it Ma-"

"They got out through the loading bays, damn it." Haralson hissed before turning back to the Subjects "We need to hurry and find place to hide for now!"

"Yeah?" Kendall leaned down "Or what, little man?"

As he said that, one of the Afflicted spotted them and gestured to the others. The group grabbed the zombified occupants of the car and pushed them forward as they began quickly approaching.

"Or That!" Haralson said with an obvious bitterness

"Screw you!" Kendall laughed "These guys look like goddamn cancer patients, I''ll be damned if I let one of them stand in my way!"

With that he turned and charged the group, which halted as they viewed his approach. Several took several cautious steps back while one walked forward, and let his gun hang low as Kendall approached. The Musclehead leaped forward, pulling one fist back as he descended towards the Afflicted. The Foulmorph just jumped back as Kendall's fist embedded itself in the concrete where he once stood. Kendall looked up just as a hand completely covered in electricity connected and imploded directly with his face.

Marina just stared off to the side as Kendall was sent sliding, face-down, right back to them. He grumbled several curses as he stood and rubbed a sizzling burn mark on his cheek

"So," Marina asked "how did that turn out?"

"Pretty sure that guy got all up in your way." Andrew pointed out

"Shut the hell up," Kendall said before turning to his fellow test subjects "You! help me beat the crap outta these guys."

With that he turned and charged again as the Afflicted raised their guns.

Ezra stood frozen at seeing the corpses of people outside the labs. It just didn't sit well with her and she fainted, allowing Arthur to control their body for the time being.

"Holy Shit! What are those things, you two?! Or better yet, how do we beat them?!"

She said before one shot at her and she stopped the bullet with her vectors, well it should be that the vectors allowed the bullet to graze her skin while directing it a different direction.

Outside the Omni Initiative Testing Facility

The pandaemonium, the dead littering the streets, the screams of the damed only slightly drowned out by the sirens, none of it fazed Yuma. He took his first steps outside, not so much as watching out for bodies under him. Yuma stepped over the bodies without even glancing at them, and why should he? They were dead and gone. Yuma walked into a puddle of blood that wasn't even an inch deep, stoping to stand perfectly still in the middle of the puddle. He took a deep breath as if being relived of something physically and turned back to the facility. "Crap, I forgot some more stuff."

Yuma promptly turned back around and began walking back into the facility. "Oi, pretty boy, wait for me, ill be right back." Yuma said as he ran past Klaus and back though the facility doors. Yuma cursed himself as he ran back to his holding cell, twice now he forgot something and it was getting in the way of him and his hot date with Klaus. Running back, Yuma made it to the open cell that he used to call his home. Yuma entered it and took the pillow of the bed. "Purrrrfect! He, cos im part cat. Im so funny!" On his way out again, Yuma was looking at all the empty cells, but he came across one that was a little less than empty. Yuma walked over to it and knocked on the bars a few times. "Oi. What cha up to in here?" Yuma asked, his tail wagging back and forward in curiosity.

@too much idea @bourgeoisiemustache

"Of course," he purred and watched as Yuma run back into the facility to retrieve what he left.

Outside was a terrible mess. It would probably be really hard to find a milkshake in all that disaster. He saw a group of monsters approach towards the building and raise their guns at him and the rest of the crowd that was gathered there. He raised an eyebrow at them. The rest of the test subjects were preparing for battle. Klaus sighed.

"Oh dear," he mumbled. "What a disappointment." He began to summon a horde of insects to keep the monsters busy while the rest of the test subjects took care of the hard stuff. Soon, his horde appeared, crawling out of the crevices and cracks and flying over from the Outside.

"Go my pretties!" he cackled and raised his arms and the horde of bugs flew at the monsters. His beautiful bugs wouldn't harm the freaks but they would certainly distort their vision. Klaus smiled and watched as his bugs swarmed the monsters.

He heard Yuma shout something in the distance and he left the fray, strolling until he found Yuma. He was standing in front of a cage with a person still inside.

"Hey, handsome," he said to Yuma. "I see you made a new friend. Just to let you know, there's a fight going on at the entrance. We might want to make our escape as soon as possible."

@Rantos @too much idea @GrieveWriter

"FoulMorphs, or more specifically, Afflicted Foulmorphs" Haralson said in response to the girl's question "they're some of the many failed results of the Omni Initiative. Very aggressive, though if you can get past their abilities they should be as killable as the rest of us."

"Didn't think of mentioning that before we waltzed right out of here?!?" Kendall asked as he dodged a swipe from the Electricty Afflicted, his movements were mostly slowed by the undead that the Necromancer had swiping at him as well. Though their attacks were far from damaging, their sheer placement left many things for the Musclehead to trip up on.

As that happened two Afflicted began opening fire on the rest of them, though the insects greatly hampered their accuracy the automatic qualities of their guns still made them dangerous.

"I tried! But someone just had to keep whining instead of listening!"

"So, their like our cousins?" Marina asked the Professor as she watched "Like those distant siblings nobody really enjoys talking about during holidays?"

"We need to kill them before other groups of them or, heaven forbid, the MBC spot us!"

"Way ahead of you Professor!" Kendall said as he cracked the skulls of two undead, he threw their bodies at the Necromancer before turning back to the Electrical Afflicted. The Afflicted fired some rounds as Kendall charged, then leaped with another lightning punch once he was in range. Kendall swerved to the side and swung the entirety of his arm into the Afflicted's head as he passed. The FoulMorph stumbled a bit and held onto his rattled head for a moment, right before Kendall impaled him on his arm. Kendall took a breather for a moment before tossing the corpse to the ground and shaking some blood off.

"Okay, no biggie." he said with several small pants "We got this."

He turned and spotted the Necromancer, who had moved on to raising the many dead MBC soldiers.

"Oh god damn it!" Kendall growled before charging towards the new undead.

"Fuck this shit."

Arthur said as she looked at the many risen dead with disgust. They had to do something about it but many of them were not very well prepared for this shit. That and they had to get out of here!

"Fuck it!"

She said after a few minutes of muscle head pounding the risen but got nowhere. She rolled her eyes before looking at rubber girl.

"I have an idea. Since you can stretch yourself and whatnot, I'll take care of handling the two while I fling you towards muscle head. Or we can go with me flying into the fray and decimating the enemies with my vector?"

She said while decapitating a foulmouth.

"I-I-" Axia stuttered. She bit her lips and took a deep breathe to calm her self, thought she can't stop shaking. "I can't."

She heard the sound of chaos outside her safe, secure cell. Hell, she could even smell blood and smoke.

"There's a fight outside?" Axia asked, taking a step back. "A-Are you friend? Or enemy?"

Axia raised her hand. "If-If you are enemy..."

Was this girl for real? Was the first thing Yuma thought when she told him she cant. I guess for every 100 people that run at the slight chance of freedom, there will be one to stay behind. "Of corse there is a fight outside, last time I checked freedom is never free." Yuma looked down the hall to where the exit is, he heard the screaming that made it obvious that the fight had begun, the front may not be the safest exit anymore. Then the girl asked an odd question, she asked if Yuma was an enemy. "Well if the cat ears and tail dont say enough..." He smiled impishly and walked into the girl's cell. Softly, Yuma took the girl's hand within his own and placed her hand on his forehead.

"If I am an enemy then you will have to kill me, right? So heres a fun game. You can kill me and go on with your life... Or you can come with me, and we can get a milkshake outside this facility. Your pick."
Yuma didn't know this girl, he knew nothing about her, it was quite the gamble Yuma was playing, and yet not once did he drop his somewhat trusting smile.

This half man half beast sure is suicidal. Axia could blow his head off, or fry his brain to crisp. But of course, this person doesn't know about that. He doesn't know anything about her, either as a person or about her power.

Axia hesitated. She doesn't trust that person because he's smiling a lot. Never trust a person who smiles a lot, that's what Axia believed. She hesitated because he have a point. Freedom is never free. Axia doesn't remember much about her self, but she do remember stuff from history and what the stranger say is true.

"Fine." Axia clicked her tongue, and put down her hand. "Lead the way."

Hearing the girl say fine made Yuma giddy with happiness, on the inside. Yuma had gambled, using his life as a chip, he went all in with a hand that held almost no success, and won. Yuma brought the girl's hand off his head and began leading her out of her cell and into the metal halls of the facility. "The names Yuma by the way. But you can call me your one and only." Yuma said. Yuma follow up his cheesy pick up line with a purr as he let his tail rest on the girl's shoulder. "If you get too scared you can hold my tail for comfort ok sweetie?"

As Yuma walked past Klaus he gave the man a hand wave, signaling him to follow. "Hmm, so a fight had broke outside... We could try to re think our exit strategy, or just see how well the front works out. Tell me you two, what is your opinions on heights?"
