Fantasy The Ninth Realm

Kiyoko Tomoe

The Donut Goddess
~ The RP has not started, meaning no posts yet. Me, @PoisonousCupcake will post the starter when the RP has started, though feel free to create a character once the rules and character sheet are up.

~Starter~

6 months have passed since Father Zoro announced the battle that could be called war, and the town of Nayuta already looked terrible. Little to no food or water was available, it wouldn’t be long before some starved to death, or became dehydrated. Maybe even both, if that person were to be that unfortunate. There was no escape from this fate; the fate of being put against each other until there was one school left.

-Anyone who attempts to leave Nayuta will be punished.-

-Hiding won’t do you any good; You’ll get killed if you cower away for too long.-

-Feelings are disregarded. Death is going to happen.-

-Never be alone.-

-Survive.-

~

Clouds covered the sky. It was 22:45, and there was almost no light. Only the faint shine from the moon, which was half covered with dark clouds. The smell of rain filled the air; a storm had just cleared, leaving puddles of all sized on the paths and roads.

Not too many battles have taken place so far, but that will soon change.

~

Lately, frostbite was becoming a problem. It was late-autumn, almost winter, and the weather was colder than usual. There is no heat source other than magical fire of which Blazing Sun academy students can create, but other than that, there is no heat.

Snowfall academy students are at a health advantage, seeing as they can take the moisture from the air and use that as their clean water source.

Philosopher's Stone students can provide shelter using their earth abilities.

Almost all of the different types of mages have an advantage, that if combined by an alliance, could help those teams survive. However, if one school is killed off, then their advantage would be lost and everyone else would have lost the chance of gaining it.

~

----This is the first post! Now… Some things to remember.

1) Try to read as many posts as possible, so you don’t get confused.

2) Please don’t ignore others, everyone has a part in this RP!

3) If something is going on between two or three characters, (A conversation, etc), please know to end it before it gets too long.

~Yuki Morimoto~

Yuki crouches behind a large green dumpster. Darkness surrounds her small body. The shrieks of students being beaten and killed echo off the small alleyway ground, being sucked right into her ears.

"Hey Kiko" A soft voice whispers. Yuki can hear crunches from the gravel being stepped on from behind her. She swivels her body around as fast as she could. A girl about Yuki's height but a bit thicker than her stares into Yuki's eyes. Her face turns pale as she realises that Yuki is not a Kiko. The student runs towards her and lunges her body on top of Yuki's. Yuki can just barely reach a small ice dagger on the pocket near her thigh. She grasps the smooth ice handle and pulls it out of her pocket, only to jab it into the student's back. The student struggles a bit as Yuki holds her down on top of her body. After a few minutes, the struggling stops and her arms and legs dangle by Yuki's side. Yuki pushes the girl off of her chest and dusts her legs off. She then checks the now dead students pockets for anything valuable.

"AHA!" Yuki whispers. Yuki grasps a small white card that used to belong to her victim. The student's picture and ID was laminated to the card. Yuki puts the card in her pocket and keeps searching. Having no idea what school the girl is from, Yuki assumes that the student is from the Blazing Sun Academy, and writes that down on her notepad:

#11 (# killed)

Blazing Sun Academy

Female

Medium height

1264390

dirty blonde head

Hazel eyes

Caucasian

Yuki drags the body out of the alley way to the trashed streets, then goes back to the dark alley way to hide again.

Blood stained the walls and paths of Nayuta. The air was cold and thin; No snow or rain to complement it. The silver moon hid behind the depressing, dark clouds, blocking almost all moonlight. The large village of Nayuta had changed drastically in just six months… Students from different schools who were once good friends are now forced to fight in a six-way war.

“... Can’t believe that this is only my second kill in six months…”

A black-haired teen says, scythe bathed in a familiar crimson liquid. Her glowing green eyes stood out, looking like shiny emeralds surrounded by darkness and the irony blood of her fallen opponent.

No one knew her real name except those whom she met before the battles took place, and that wasn’t very many people. However, those who didn’t know her name but still knew of her referred to her as (Get ready to CRINGEE) ‘Dark-Shaded Emerald’.

Said girl bent down to pick up the knife that her opponent had used to attack, as well as their SIC (Student Info Card)-(Which consisted of a painting and written info on a small sheet of paper, covered with glass and a string as the necklace part). The picture was of a girl, bright pink hair and crystal blue eyes, gleaming with happiness. Her rosy cheeks and pure smile matched perfectly, her whole picture showing positive emotions.

“The sad thing is… No one will ever smile like this again for another ten years…”

Tears started to form in the teen’s eyes, but she quickly held them back before they could become visible. ‘True happiness just isn’t achievable in this world.’

Slowly, she lodged the knife deep inside the damp, wooden exterior of an old, used-to-be bakery, until only the handle was showing. She hung the old-fashioned ID on the handle and glanced at the information.

“... I didn’t want this to happen, either… Miyuki Suzumoto.. You didn’t deserve this. I am so sorry.”

The girl hurried away before anyone could notice she was there.

~

Her fingers were freezing. Her eyes were squinted. The wind had gotten stronger, and it felt like sharp ice was scraping against her skin. This weather reminded Minori of the day she was notified of her father's death. Cold. Lifeless, dull. Ever since that day, everything seemed to lose color. It wasn't because Minori had something wrong with her eyes, but, it was how she viewed the world. Dull, depressing.

Her pitch black hair whipped around in the painful winds, and she wondered the nighttime streets. This was the side of her that no one ever knew about, the side that she would only express alone.

'Trapped... Hungry.... Cold... Left to die... Why did this happen to me? This is cruel... Was this the only way for a successor to be chosen?'

Minori stopped walking, and leaned against a wall next to a pulled-up rose bush. A dead rose was left on the ground, drowned in a puddle of blood.

'... That's what it is! Father Zoro, you must think this is one big game! Why?! Countless lives are lost... Just so you could choose a successor..'

Minori clenched her teeth for a second, before letting a sigh escape from her lips.

"It's no use to get worked up over something I can't control..."

?Nineteen Years of Death?
The scent of petrichor filled the air along with the stench of raw acrid due to the rotten corpses from previous battles and the dried red stains that tainted the black cloak liquefied into the puddles, cleansing the cloak. It was a regular basic in the city of Nayuta to see corpses of young students -- at the age not even close to be acknowledged as adults -- soaking into either their own or another student's blood and the darkness made the dreadful scenery even more gruesome. Mismatched eyes of hazel and red scanned the path ahead with a dull stare, any sign of life barely showing within them besides the dim lighting of the night sky which was shrouded with dark, downcast clouds from the storm that struck earlier that evening. With the clouds blocking the only light sources, the city was dawn with almost pitch black with the moon fighting past the clouds to shine upon the bloody grounds.

A towering black-cloaked figure hidden in the shadows cast from the buildings stood before the scenery completing the picture to look almost as if he was the reaper or death angel sent to collect the poor souls who had lost in their battles to survive. The only thing that could be seen visible of the figure were those eyes, their unusual colors shine under the dim moonlight as every breath he exhaled became visible in the chilling weather. The wind blew harshly at the figure but he didn't flinch as the ends of his long scarf flap in the air with charcoal-colored hair ruffled. Pale skin were already forming goosebumps and soon frostbites if the man does not get into any shelter sooner and warm his frozen body.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, the man took a step forward -- as if he had been awoken from being a statue -- and fought against the harsh wind towards somewhere warm to get away from the cold. Sadly, the man knew all too well that there was nowhere to keep sheltered from the freezing temperature. The only place in this city that would be warm would be the Blazing Sun Academy but going there would only mean you are asking for a death wish if not part of that academy. That risk, Maalik -- the man's name -- knew, was not something he wanted to do. He could waste his energy to make a golem that produces heat but he didn't want to attract unwanted attention towards his way plus with the darkness, it would make him easy to spot within seconds.

Walking around in the shadows, Maalik was left with nothing to keep himself warm except for the scarf wrapped around his neck and the cloak which both provided little protection towards the wind. His ears were already bright red with frostbites as he pulled his scarf higher to reach his frozen ears. Under his cloak, he carried around a single bag filled with little supplies such as; a journal, a writing utensil, a piece of half-eaten bread and a jar a quarter-filled with water which he had stolen recently from a corpse. Nayuta was running out of resources to provide for the students and the supplies Maalik had at first were all gone throughout these six months of war. He was left with nothing but another day to live on if he survived this night.

His comrades had all gone off to battle for resources leaving him to fend for himself until he could find them. One of his close friends, Narrin, was one of the few who ran off to fight as he promised Maalik that he would find some more supplies for them. Letting out a puff of clouds, Maalik was worried about Narrin since he was the only person he really put his faith on but he was confident that Narrin was alright out there since the guy usually found ways out of death situations,"

He will be fine.

" He reassured himself and continued to stroll, scavenging once in a while through corpses for anything useful.

Some of the corpses happen to be nude, stripped from their clothing as Maalik avoided those seeing that some were desperate to get some warmth. As Maalik went over to a fallen student looking around their belongings, he heard a distant scream. A fight was occurring nearby. Closing his eyes, he got up from his scavenging and quickly went back into the shadows but as he was doing so, a flare of a blazing ball of fire shot out of the few alleyways within the proximity, brightening it's path and bursting through a building just a few meters away from Maalik. The person didn't seem to be aiming at Maalik but he wasn't gonna let his guard down as he ran off into one of the alleyways with the sounds of his shoes splatter in the puddles on the stone pathways, drenching his shoes in freezing water.

It was good decision that he got away quickly because behind him, he heard the sound of footsteps following after. Not turning back to see who it was, Maalik noticed the reflections of light behind him in the puddles he past and dodged the upcoming balls of fire,"

Shit... They caught up fast.

" Turning a corner, he tried to lose his chaser by slowing them down with obstacles and turning as many corners as possible as he noticed a pile of stones fallen from a house. Using his powers, the stones took shape into what looked to be a wolf, it's eyes blazing with blue light,"

Attack!

" He demanded as the wolf obeyed and ran towards the attacker, its stone fangs bared at the fire-user while the attacker reacted back with another fire ball aimed at the stone wolf,"

You gonna have to do better than that!

" The attacker said with a masculine voice meaning that it was a male as the chase continued on through the cold.

The wolf was still in good shape as it shook off the flames and dashed up towards Maalik's side,"

Use some ice spikes.

" Maalik ordered as the wolf shot at the man with some ice spikes flying at the speed of light with fire attacking back, melting the ice away,"

Stop with this cat n' mouse chase and fight like a man!

" The man already annoyed with this game of chase and wanting to finish Maalik off with a quick blow so he could get back to his group. Whoever was near by to hear the explosions and eruption of burning houses could very well tell the battle was gonna be long with either one of them to die at the hands of each other or maybe even by another student intruding in their chase.

"Death... For every death, there is satisfaction elsewhere..." A lone girl stood in the way of a certain Necromancer's way, one arm stretched out to the side as though reaching for something in the air, despite there being absolutely nothing. Suddenly, she leaped right past Maalik, a sword appearing held reverse in her hands as she passed by the guy. The man chasing him, caught entirely off guard by the above average speed of the golden-haired girl, suddenly found himself on the ground with Eri standing next to his head. The man's side had a large cut in it, though it clearly wouldn't end at just that. "This is the mark of true death. Relish in the experience for which you enjoy bringing upon others." Her arm dropped down, the blade falling straight through the man's chest.

Pulling the sword out, Eri began walking away without word. She didn't even look back at the one who she had just helped out, though in the end she would've been involved in a large fight if she hadn't taken action before they'd had time to notice her. She was quite annoyed though, having to get blood on her blade because some guys were fighting as she was heading back to her little shelter. She tossed a card up and down in her free right hand a few times, then snatching it out of the air after the last time before tossing it all the way back to by the corpse. Stepping into an alleyway, she was gone without possibility of being followed.

(( Best first post ever ^.^ A little short though, which I apologize for :c ))

~Sakura Adachi~

“Okay... It’s dark, so it’s a good time to move out of the enemy's territory..” Sakura tells herself, gathering her stuff. She peeks her head out of her hiding spot, looking for signs of danger. After she takes a deep breath she heaves herself out of the hiding spot. It was nighttime, but Nayuta was lit up with the moon that was barely shining. Smoke and debris cover the city but it was icy and cold. The wind howled, crashing against Sakura, making her shiver.

A shaking sound cut through Sakura’s thoughts. She quickly hid behind the debris. Sakura watched as a group emerged and scouted the land. Sakura looks for a distraction. She sees a girl in the group and she’s close enough for her to grab her…… Sakura scowled and grabs the girl. Sakura can tell that she’s from Philosopher's Stone so she quickly tied her down with ropes. “I’m…...I’m sorry.” Sakura says before kicking her neck, snapping it. She then throws the body out Into view making sure its angled in the opposite direction. She then darts off after hearing the blood curdling screams.

After what seems like forever she stops and climbs a nearby tree. “Thank God this tree still here...” Asuka mumbled tilting her head back and drinking the little water she had left. It tasted like dirt. she shut her eyes trying to drown out the screams of pain and fear. She never really had friends or a family so she question how the group thought of her now. “A killer.” she says to herself hopping of the branch and started walking again.

Sakura almost cried when she saw a small piece of bread scatter across the field. She looked around no barbed wire, no buckets of icy water. She bit into it. Heaven. She wished that she could always eat like this, never having to give up food for the younger students, or not finding any at all. She wished she was rich like her adopted mother. She sees a sudden Blast of fire and Ice. She hesitated until she heard a frightening scream. She shrugged and darted off towards it hoping it was the right choice.

♠Minori Kurosawa♠

Minori creeps through the night, blending in with the shadows. She saw a few students here and there, but no one that she’d recognize. Mainly, all she could find were the students of Silent-Step, as they have the largest percentage of the total student count, 27%. There were a few others, though. The students were all admonished about that before the events happened; The difference between school populations.

Minori proceeded to travel around, hoping no one would find her or decide to attack her. If they did, she would have to try to cajole them to not fight, or if that didn’t work, finish them off as soon as possible.

~

“Hahah! Would you look at this.”

A male who looked to be 19 or 20, cackled. Minori quickly whipped around to see him, and a woman who seemed to be around the same age. She had short purple hair and red-framed glasses. She looked mature. The guy had a more casual look to him. He had messy brown hair and olive green eyes, and he had a cocky smirk plastered onto his face. ‘From what I can tell, his highest spell is either a 4 or a 5. The woman’s… She looks like an 8.’

Minori thought, silently cursing. A loud explosion could be heard from a distance, which perked Minori’s interest. Unfortunately, she would have to escape or defeat her current enemies before she could head over. She saw a pouch which seemed to be carrying two, small apples, and enough water for 5 gulps. Minori didn't have any food left, and the situation was dire. Her stomach felt like it was caving in and she was loosing muscle, and her mouth felt as dry as a desert, tongue like scratchy sand-paper.

The guy attacked first, recklessly but swift. His movements were difficult to keep track of, and soon enough, he had taken her by surprise when she was punched in the gut and was sent backwards into a wall. Minori didn't want to use one of her more effective techniques, but if it comes down to it...

"Summon: Poison Scythe."

The words came out as a whisper, and the teen started to sprint towards the guy. She had just managed to scrape his left arm, enough to paralyze it with the poison. He growled in pain, and sent a fast kick her way. Minori hopped back, narrowly dodging the attack.

~

The woman stood, observing the fight. Her main goal wasn't to kill on sight, but rather, observe everyone's moves so she knows how to deal with them later. The two fighting, however, were panting, with scratches, and energy lowering by the bit. Minori was on her knees, while the guy she was up a against was towering above her, talking a knife out of his pocket and bringing it down.

....

....

The man fell, so suddenly. The knife fell onto the ground. Minori struggled to stand, but she did so anyway. Her toxic green eyes stared down at the man who was just seconds away from killing her. Now, he was the one on the ground. He weakly glanced up at Minori to see her mouth the words:

"Shinigami's Poison; 2feet x 2feet radius."

The poison had been there for a while now; Minori was holding her breath the whole time.

Her attacker was dead.

She quickly looted whatever he had, as far as food and water, and headed off to where the explosion was.

~

Her limping came to a stop when she spotted a student of Necromancy in the distance, standing there near a corpse.

Rain Lysae

o7mwlt.jpg

It was just another winter day. The freezing winds were causing the leaves of the various trees in the forest to dance with a wild fury. Nature was unleashing its wrath upon Nayuta, the town of tragedies. The young city had become a battleground, where the simple teenagers had become required to murder each other indiscriminately for the sake of showing who's mentor was most worthy of succeeding Father Zoro, widely considered a god among men.

Yes, one could not blame nature for striking back. Nayuta was a city of pure evil, created upon evil for evil's sake by a tyrant who wouldn't even admit to his evil. Regardless, the students, the vast majority of Nayuta's population and the soldiers in this civil war, took part in these death games, for the sole reason to survive and help their friends survive. Survival was all that mattered.

Beneath a certain tree deep in the forest, three bloody bodies decorated the grassy terrain of the biome. Atop that tree, on a single, thick branch, lay a messy, white haired individual. Beside him, on each side, a dagger was stuck into the wood of the branch, adorned with dried blood. The young man himself rested his head on his hands, his arms folded so that he was comfortable despite laying on a jagged, wooden surface.

His cold, blue eyes were void of emotion as they looked up at the grey sky. It appeared that mother nature was downtrodden, and who wouldn't be if they only had such a sight before them. Three more people dead, killed by the young man's very own hands. By now, murder had become common to him, and it rarely affected him to take the life from another.

He was an avenger. For everyone of his classmates' lives that were taken, he would take the life of another. The more that were dead, the less likely anymore of his own friends would die. This brutal game had turned him into a savage animal built for slaughter, and devoid of any sympathy for his victims. They had to die so his friends could live, it was that simple. He wished it didn't have to be this way, but it did. Why? Because Father Zoro "said so."

His father was a mercenary famous for his assassination skills. From the moment his father had reentered the boy's life after abandoning him as an infant, the young man had been groomed to follow his father's footsteps. These games were perfect in that sense. His father always told him he wasn't cold enough or hard enough to become strong.

"Wait 'till he sees me now, that ass"

This young man's name was Rain. Rain Lysae. All he wanted, all he wished for, was peace. He wanted to see an end to the madness, the chaos. He wanted to go back to a time where he was able to laugh with his friends, where he could actively seek out a girl to flirt with instead of a guy to decapitate. He just wanted to see love and happiness again, and end the miserable circumstances he was forced to live in. To that end, he would not ever give up. If he had to kill every single human being who didn't belong to the Silent Storms, he would do it. He didn't have to like it, but he had no other choice.

And yet, these games of survival proved to be even more twisted than Rain originally thought. It would prove impossible to survive this harsh winter without the help of students from the other school. His use of Silent Step and extremely limited Wind Magic capabilities were fine for sneak attacks and getting around without much energy expenditure, but they would not help him against the cold temperatures of winter, or for shelter building, or for fire making. It seemed as if members of each school had to help each other kill outlast each other. The whole thing was a contradiction of itself, it was ridiculous.

hesgotcrazyeyes.jpg

After what seemed like an eternity of lying still, Rain began to lift himself to standing position, hopping off the branch after removing his twin daggers from the tree and landing gently on his feet, as if he was made of paper.

As he began to walk aimlessly towards the center of town, Rain's eyes began to narrow, revealing his malicious intent. A green aura began to enshroud his figure, ever so lightly.

"When this is all over, I will kill you personally, Father Zoro..."

~Sakura Adachi~

Sakura can tells she gets closer to the battle the paths narrowed due to burning trees but the ground was slick with Ice After an hour of searching she found a body with a blazing sun uniform on.Sakura clenched her fist fighting the twist of emotion inside her. “Your a junior girl” She says looking at the facial features of the girl“You could have had a future some hope” She says closing the girl eyes and standing up grimacing. Sakura had started walking and found herself think about the girl longing for her to run up beside her have that glint of excitement and happiness she see's from kids her age. She then found herself shedding Tears for the girl. Sakura stops and sits down “Get it together” Sakura told herself irritated by her behavior . She took her mind of the pain by paying attention to the scenery It was pretty destroyed

She used to think She knew the whole city but now Sakura couldn't even tell the streets. “Enjoying the Scenery?” Sakura hear a raspy voice come behind her. She’s stand up ready to fight but the boy puts his hands up “I don’t want to fight. For now may I sit down?” He asked. Sakura studies his face looking for danger . After finding nothing she sat down the boy did the same. “Are you scared?” she asked
regretting it a second later. The boy looks out to the waste land of a city. “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” he proclaims. Sakura gaped in awe at him “Psalms 23:4” she exclaimed the boy gave her a surprised look “ well It’s seems that I’ve meet A literary bug enlighten me on your perspective” He says. Sakura thought token off guard by the question but then shrugged “ I don't know to many ways to describe. But what I like to know is how you got such a high vocabulary” she said surprising her self by smiling. “Well I-” He doesn't finish we hear the footsteps of nearby groups . “Well I will leave you with this The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” He runs off leaving me to dwell on his quote. After a quick second Sakura dart away from him and hid in the debris. After heard the footsteps fade and She let out a sigh.

She realizes that her bag had be tampered. She edged closer to the bag before being blown out of her hiding space. “Get up...Get up!” She tell herself
urgently Slowly she stumbles up realizing that the Charismatic guy had slipped a bomb into her bag planning to blow her to pits. Sakura limps to the newly formed hiding spot thanks to the bomb and holes herself into it she than check for wounds realizes that her arm was oozing blood. She lets out a groan as she presses the last of her gauze up to the wound. Trust no one she thinks to herself leaning back feeling weak and tired she gives a glance around before letting herself drift it to a peaceful sleep.

Sakura awakes to the unwelcoming wind howling against her. She quickly turns to her side shielding her wounded arm from the cold. Her stomach aches from hunger Sakura tears open one of the packets that was given to all the students before the war. It tasted like dirt but it was better than starving most kids sucked the packets down as soon as the war started but she had saved 3 for myself and others. After eating Sakura crawl out of my hiding spot she wince reacting to the throbbing in her arm. She’s looked around realizing she’s been careless about her surroundings. She decide to head toward the more urban parts of the city since winter was coming and she assumed that it would be warmer in the buildings.

♠Minori Kurosawa♠

Minori isn't sure if she wants to confront the guy or not. Instead, she sits in a small area that she can barely squeeze herself into. Her glowing, green eyes are half-way lidded. She would soon forget what life was like before everything started, but at the moment, all she could do was reminisce on those days. They just couldn't leave her mind, for some strange reason.

*The trees were green. The sun was shining, and the weather was perfect in some's eyes. The cool breeze with the warm tempature. Students of all kinds were all about in Nayuta, walking and talking with one another, or just hanging out.

Minori smiled to herself, her hair dancing slightly in the summer breeze. The smell of freshly baked bread filled the air, and water barrels were all thought the village. Big groups of friends joked around, despite what their school was. Minori didn't have many friends herself, but just the sight of it shooed away bad memories. She wished that she could have someone to rely on, and a group that she could horse around with, but that didn't seem to be happening any time soon.

Minori traveled to her home within the borders of Nayuta, where it was more quiet. She pushed her door open and stepped inside, closing it behind her. She decided to write a letter to her sister, Nekomi, but she wasn't sure if it would reach the outer lands beyond the village.*

Minori's eyes are closed. Not quite asleep, but to the point where she was out of it. She didn't have any sleep for three days, and it was taking effect. Soon enough, she dived into a deep sleep.

~

Minori's eyes snapped open thirty minutes after she fell asleep. She wasn't sure if the guy with the bi-colored eyes was still there, but at this point, it was 1:00. The moon was slowly descending, signifying that it was early in the morning. Her body was sore from being scrunched up in that tiny space, as well as from the fight she had before. She slowly, but surely, started to crawl out unnoticed. As soon as she was standing, she stretched, and made her way to the roof of a building. She sensed strong students nearby, so she switched to her 'happy-go-lucky' attitude. In case there was one she couldn't defeat, they wouldn't know of her true personality. At least, if they didn't pay attention to her eyes. No one ever did, and if they were to, they would see all of the negative emotions swirling around in her eyes. The constant distant gaze or glare.

Minori looked up at the nightly-morning sky, to see the moon was one stage away from being full. The clouds were out of its way, now shining brightly over the blood-soaked village.

Her pale skin glowed in the moon's light, and her pitch black hair had a slightly more noticeable shine to it.

"Six months; two days."

Minori mutters to herself.

"Seventh month, third day of the event."

Upon the roof of a tall building, a slight girl sat on the edge of the tall wall that had served as a barrier between herself and the ground hundreds of meters below. The light of the hidden sun illuminated the girls pale skin, covered in bland light colored clothing, flecked with a rustic red that in any other time and situation would have been seen as paint. Long silver hair waving in the icy wind, contained in its loose braid as the girl murmurers to the midnight cat sprawled out over her legs fast asleep, a faint purr could be heard lightly within the breathy winds currents.

"Seven Months they say... Hundreds of lives adding up to hundreds of years, much more time has been lost in this task than a lowly Seven months." The girl's soft alto voice whispered as she slowly stroked the cat watching as the people below rose from their slumber, however light or short it was.

If she had turned she would have seen the 3 dead body's of the people who've attempted to gain her small stock of food,
"Had they asked.." She had said, stroking the cats fur gently with her pink stained hands, "I would have given them half. But no." She sighs, her eyes glinting with the murderous glint of a sociopath."Nobody asks anymore, they simply take." She whispers looking out over the hardly illuminated land.

?Death has come?
Everything Maalik did only angered the fire-user more as he snarled under his breath wanting to burn Maalik to ashes once he got his hands on him,"

Just give up already and accept your fate!

" Ignoring him, Maalik wasn't gonna die so easily as he continued to run but little did he know, there a small figure up ahead blocking his path, bright blonde tresses flowed in the wind with bright hazel orbs glimmering under the moonlight. As he finally got a clear vision of the person, he was about to attack but only to see a yellow blur zoom past him -- his eyes dilated in shock at the sudden action -- and towards the fire-user behind him. Coming to a halt, he turned to see what had happen when he heard the the man scream in pain before silence took back its place in the cold night. Breathing heavily from all the running with a trail of clouds, he stared at the corpse of his chaser and then at the blonde girl, the blade she held dripping with the blood of the man as she walked off not even acknowledging the fact that she saved him.

Watching his savior walk off into another alleyway, he noticed a small piece of paper floating gracefully and land next to the corpse. His wolf stood by his master side as Maalik stared down at it then back at the corpse, debating whether he should move or not since the student that saved him may be planning to kill him when his guard is at its weakest,"

Dismissed.

" At his command, the wolf crumbled back into a pile of stone and the blue lights diminished to nothing. Fixing himself up, Maalik was hesitate to move before he took a few steps forward with nothing happening to him thus far. Once he was sure that the girl had left with no traps she may had left for him, he went over to the corpse but kept his distance with a strange gut feeling telling him to not get any closer than that. Examining the dead body, he could obviously tell that it was a student of Blazing Sun since the attacks were all fire based. The student didn't seem to have anything useful on him. His clothing was tattered and stained with blood, his eyes were still open with shock reflected on his face but gradually closed. His soul was now in a better place from here, away from this cruel cage they were placed in.

Maalik wasn't sure how long he stood there for until light flooded and glowed over the corpse. Snapping out of his daze, he took a step back into the shadows and was somewhat astonished to see that he was still alive as it was a perfect opportunity for someone to kill him on the spot alongside with the other student. Looking up at the sky, he could see the moon had finally called victory over the clouds, the light it produced now showered the village in light making it easier to see through the dark though not quite clearly. Watching the light scare away the darkness, Maalik just stared, curiosity of the card he saw earlier. It was strange how it randomly came flying out the way the girl went but maybe she had dropped it? Could it be of some importance? He wasn't sure but he didn't dare try to find out as it could be a trap and so, he turned his back to the corpse, about to head off to find his friends.

One moment Eri had been headed into an alley, and the next she was jumping back and out of it. Flipping backwards and landing in the middle of the street where she'd killed off a guy with her blade, a lot of spikes made by an earth user protruded the alleyway. "Tch, you earth users are so persistent..." She said to herself, long bloody blade still in her hand and reflecting the moonlight that passed through the clouds. "You know, you've been pissing me off for three weeks now, stones-for-brains. You're so annoying, that I'm honestly ready to use my trump card just for a single person..." Her words were all directed at one sixteen year old boy, who was now standing at the entrance to the alley.

Eri snapped her fingers slowly, once, twice, and a third time. Each time, the snapping sound seemed to echo several times before she moved on to the next. With a fourth snap, everything seemed to stop for just a second, only the light breeze and the rain still with motion during the second that seemed to last forever. Electricity sparked fiercely within Eri's hand, the energy powerful enough to create a breeze blowing outward from her hand. Raising her arm up to the sky, a bolt of lightning shot from the energy in her hand up to the clouds, several more shooting back down and around her continuously. The earth user attempted to attack with some more spikes, but the lightning tore apart anything within a few feet that was above ground level and wasn't Eri.

-- "Dreadful... Fulfilling of desire, but filling with fear..."

-- "Emptiness... Everything's there, but can't be reached..."

-- "Abruptness... Easily foreseen, but too blinding to look at..."

-- "Tragic... Losing nothing, but grieving everything..."

-- "Hodiernal... Forever far away, but always present..."

"Let these words of death carry you onto the next life," Eri said to the earth user, then proceeding to mumble something to herself in anger; "Flatten everything; Mjollnir." Before anybody could process what Eri'd said, a bolt of lightning struck down from the sky, right into Eri's raised hand. As the bolt struck, it shot a wave of energy outward before forming an electric dome in Eri's hand that expanded and devoured everything around her. The dome would find itself stopping expansion just inches from the nearest person to Eri that wasn't the earth user, though regardless it was rather large of an electric dome, one that couldn't even be seen through. As the dome vanished, what was left was basically nothing.

Everything within the area, buildings and the likes, were basically turned into extremely small pieces of rubble. At least half of the rubble had been completely burned up by the immense electric energy. The ground, now flat aside from rubble that didn't go up above anybody's ankles, was lacking something; two things, to be more precise. There was a lacking of corpses, both the one that was killed by Eri's blade, and the one that should be left from that immense amount of lightning. A second look though, would show the corpses were basically burnt by the lightning to the point they seemed more like burnt rubble than they did corpses.

Eri's katana had vanished during that bit of level eight magic, her having returned it to where it came from at some point between the start and end of the spell as to prevent lightning from being attracted to the metal blade. "To think I wasted something like that... It was just one murderous kid, and I used something meant to take out several people..." She said to herself with a sigh. Turning around and beginning to walk, she suddenly felt weak, like her body was without strength. "Damn... I went overboard," She thought as she barely managed to stop from falling, though her body was all loose and ready to collapse any moment.

♠Minori Kurosawa♠

Minori watched what just happened from a distance. The soon-to-be fight, being interrupted by a yellow-haired girl... At first, Minori didn't recognize her. After a few seconds of standing around, processing what just happened, it hit her like a ton of bricks. Everything was familiar; The hair, the speed... 'E... Eri?'

Minori decided it wouldn't be a good idea to move any closer to the guy with two different colored eyes, just in case the area he was in was trapped or he would attack.

A few minutes after She walked away, a large, blinding light shone right in Minori's face. It seemed to have destroyed everything, leaving only rubble and debris. Noting that all of the buildings within the radius of the dome were gone, Minori knew that she would have more of a chance of being found. The black haired girl snuck to where the main source was, only to see Eri, looking like she was about to collapse. She shook her head, letting a sigh escape her lips.

"Of course it would be you to cause all of this!"

Minori yelled in a childish manner, raising her arms up, gesturing towards all directions; of which, there was only rubble. She strolled up to Eri and flashed a quick smile. The drizzle coming from the sky was now full-on rain, soaking Minori's cloak and clothes beneath, as well as hair. It didn't get any better when a gust of icy wind blew. Minori grunted in annoyance as soon as the wind had hit her. 'I feel like I'll die from hypothermia... Ack.' She squeezed her eyes shut as the horrible feeling of ice scraping the skin was on her face.

(Ehhh, I'm in the situation where I can't really go on without Eri's response >.<)

~Sakura Adachi~

(Edited Post, added more)

Sakura can tells she gets closer to the battle the narrow path narrowed due loading a to burning trees but the ground was slick with Ice After an hour of searching she found a body with a blazing sun uniform on.Sakura clenched her fist fighting with the twist of emotion inside her. “Your a junior girl” She says looking at the facial features gun“You could have had a future some hope” She says closing the girl eyes and standing up. Sakura had started walking and found herself think about the girl longing for her to run up beside her. She found herself shedding Tears for the girl. Sakura stops and sits down “Get it together” Sakura told herself. She took her mind of by the scenery It was pretty destroyed

She used to think She knew the whole city but now Sakura couldn't even tell the streets. “Enjoying the Scenery?” Sakura hear a raspy voice come behind me. She’s stand up ready to fight but the boy puts his hands up “I don’t want to fight now may I sit down?” He asked. She studies his face looking for danger. She found nothing and sat down the boy did the same. “Are you scared?” she asked the boy looks out to the waste land. “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” he proclaims. Sakura gaped at him “Psalms 23:4” she exclaimed he gave her a surprised look “ well It’s seems that I’ve meet A literary bug enlighten me on your perspective” He says. Sakura thought about it and shrugged “ I don't know but what I like to know is how you got such a high vocabulary” she said chuckling. “Well I-” He doesn't finish we hear the footsteps of nearby scouters. “Well I will leave you with this The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.” He runs off. Sakura dart away from him and hid in the debris. After heard the footsteps fade and She let out a sigh.

After what seems like forever, Sakura finally relaxes realizing how long it had been since she had last slept. Sakura dumps the items of her bag onto the ground. She Leans back slowly. She’ll probably hate herself for sleeping on the job, but even warriors need sleep.

Sakura awakes to the unwelcoming gust of wind howling against her. She quickly turns to her side, shielding her wounded arm from the cold. Her stomach aches from hunger. Sakura tears open one of the packets that was given to all the students before the battle. It tasted like dirt but it was better than starving; most kids wolfed the packets down as soon as the war started, but she hadsaved 2 for herself and others. After eating, Sakura crawls out of her hiding spot. She winced, reacting to the throbbing in her arm. She looked around realizing she’s been careless about her surroundings. She decides to head toward the more urban parts of the city since winter was coming and she assumed that it would be warmer in the buildings.

~

She finally considers what the boy had said. It felt comforting that they could chat like they did, what seemed like many years ago. ‘Well, I will leave you with this, The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time….’ She repeated in her head. Sakura shivered softly. She was terrified of death... She ran from it. The weight of her victims fell hard on her. ‘How could I be afraid of death when I caused it everyday?’ She thought. “Hmmm... I can’t just stop being afraid.” She says, already weary from thinking about it. “But I can’t stop killing either..” She whispered. Sakura looked up realizing she was in the city. She sighed, thinking about how this had all happened. She knew that there was rumor of anger of this catastrophe, but that the main reason was for Father Zoro to choose a successor. Sakura Knew better to focus on that; she found it irresponsible and unreasonable. She comes to a lake near Snowfall academy. She stares at the clear water.. It always set her off edge, but then again, she knew that clean water wouldn’t be that easy to find. Sakura Quickly walked away, trying to forget the thoughts that troubled her there.

When she was close to the urban areas of Nayuta, she sees an alleyway leading to a field of rubble. In the middle of it, there were two girls; On with black hair, and one with blonde. Sakura moves slowly towards them making sure not to be seen. She decide to watch them see how it played out so when the time was right she could strike…..

~Yuki Morimoto~

Yuki hides in the shadows of a hut. Piles of burnt grass and bricks are scattered around her. She peeks her head around the corner of a wall and watches as a crosslight student is stabbed, then torched. Yuki brings her head back and lets a few tears drizzle down her eyes.

“What happened in the past 6 months” Yuki whispers to herself. She shakes her head. “...and I am still contributing to this mess” now Yuki is quietly sobbing.

“footsteps…” Yuki moans. She looks around for a place to hide. Trashcan. Yuki tiptoes to the trash can only to see a dead Snowfall Academy student lying behind it.

“Ahhh.” Yuki lets out a moan, but quickly covers it up and sits next to the body.

“Did you hear that?” A man says. He has a very thick voice and he seems to be getting closer. He rounds the corner and stands next to the trashcan. The man wears a blue shirt, with blue sweatpants.

“I’m Snowfall Academy also” Yuki whispers to the man and his companion.

The man abruptly turns around, with his knife pointing at Yuki. Her hands are held in the air as a sign to show that she meant no harm.

“What are you doing here?” the student demands.

“Only place I could hide” Yuki replies. He furrows his eyebrow.

“you got anything to protect you” his friend says. His friend is rather scrawny and could easily be taken down by Yuki.

The men stare at Yuki’s solid ice dagger. A little bit of blood is stained on it from her last kill.

"Is that all you got?” the friend asks. He seems to be unimpressed.

“I have my magic” Yuki responds, hoping that was the answer they were looking for. They nod their heads.

“You need mo..”

“I’m fine” Yuki interrupts. They stare at her, and they give her that: You are going to regret this face.

“Okay, then... bye” The scrawny one says. Yuki waves them off and and goes back to hiding in the shadows.

Rain Lysae

The forest was always Rain's favorite area. It suited his skills, since he relied on being quick on his feet and making his presence virtually undetectable. Really though, he just loved a stroll through the dampened grass roads, surrounded by vibrant nature that seemed to be otherwise unaware of the ongoing chaos within Nayuta. It was truly peaceful, one of the only areas that could boast about such a thing in a battle-torn city like this one.

It was a shame the weather was so cloudy and cold, other wise Rain's walk would have been quite delightful. There didn't seem to be any other people around, which allowed him to actually follow the trail without any worries rather than hopping from tree to tree.

Rain frowned. He needed the abilities of a Blazing Sun student, but it was impossible for him to learn any magic that wasn't in his own class. It was hard enough learning novice level spells out side his subclass, but learning a new class entirely was known to be absolutely impossible. That meant that the only way he could possibly attain such abilities was through allying with a Blazing Sun student, something he wasn't readily willing to do. After all, everyone else was an enemy. They were after his friends, that was the only way they could ensure their own survival. Plus, at the end of it all, only one school could remain standing. It was basically Hell on Earth.

As Rain was busy getting lost in his thoughts, the sky flashed brilliantly as a bolt of lightning came crashing down from the sky in the viewable distance, creating a large-scale dome of electrical energy. Soon after, the booming thunder sounded, and Rain's eyes began to widen in realization that what he just witnessed was someone's magic. It was incredible, the amount of magic energy it must have taken to commit to such a spell could easily classify the spell as a high level magic.

Rain began to grit his teeth. The power players were beginning to show themselves. Whoever had been able to unleash that spell was likely one of the finest students of their school, a prime example of an experienced Cross-Light combatant. Rain had to eliminate her, or she would become trouble for him and his school.

Currently, the Silent Storms were well in the lead in the war, controlling 27% of Nayuta, whilst the second place only controlled 18%. With the debut of this new and presumed Cross-Light student, that lead could possibly be in jeopardy. It was time to spring into action.

As a light aura began to envelop Rain's body, the young man kicked off the ground with great haste, moving quickly and displaying amazing acrobatics as he effortlessly hopped from tree to tree, swinging through branches like an adult primate at times. He would not waste a second of time as he dashed towards his destination.

Within no time, he had arrived at the main city of Nayuta, where he began to use his magic for stealth. His footsteps became mum as he began to head over to approximately where he saw the lightning strike. If he had any doubt in his instinct, it was quickly washed away as the closer he got, the more wreckage he came across. The general proximity of the spell was devastated. Who buildings had been reduced to ash and debris. Sparks of electricity were still flying at certain areas.

Rain's eyes began to show a tint of anxiety, as they widened once more with shock.

"Unbelievable," he muttered, coming to a stop as he began to understand that there was no way he could sneak up on his opponent now. There was nowhere to hide, everything was gone. To add to that, it appeared as though his target was already in sight. Less than 100 meters away from him, three girls stood.

Rain froze. He had already made a poor decision in coming to this place, out in plain sight. However, if only the caster of the previously destructive spell were around, Rain would have no trouble dispatching her while she struggled to recover from usage of such a high level magic. Before him, three women stood. Two seemed to be having an argument, one seemingly having difficulty staying on her feet.

"She's the one,"

The third girl was a little bit behind the duo, either cautious to approach or stalking them, preparing to strike. If he escaped now and let the three deal with themselves, Rain would be able to get the best of the situation, escaping unharmed and possibly unseen, with the likelihood that his target would meet her end anyway. However, if he stayed, he risked having to battle more than a single opponent at a time, without his usual advantage of the element of surprise. This way, he could make sure that all three girls were taken out, but it provided several risks. It seemed foolhardy to go with that route.

Batting with hesitation, he began to spin his daggers around in each hand, until he got a firm on both. His mind had been made.

His dilemma ended with a third option that seemed to defy any logic that he was accustomed to having. He had chosen neither option A, the safest approach, nor option B, the riskier, more rewarding approach. No, he went with option C, a stupid plan that he would typically never follow under any circumstance.

Lunging at the trio, Rain displayed his speed as he seemingly vanished from his previous location and reappeared between the raven-haired girl and the blonde. He flicked his hair away form his eyes before flashing a toothy grin at the all three girls.

"You know if you all stay here, you're probably gonna become easy targets for someone. By now, everyone's probably headed this way to check out what happened. How about I help you ladies get out of here?" Rain smiled, hoping his natural charm would help him convince the trio.

?Comes a Storm?
As Maalik was just about to leave the scene, the ground shook before him and behind him was the girl was before being attacked by a mere earth-bender. Hearing the girl grumbling in annoyance at the student, he hear a strange sound of... snapping? The girl was snapping her fingers together which confused Maalik but he soon noticed the tempo seemed to change every time she snapped as if it was gradually increasing audibly bouncing off the walls of the alleyways. Though it didn't seem they noticed him, he kept his guard up and alert in case any blows came his way. Backing up a bit, everything seemed to slow down in motion as the girl raised her hand into the sky and out came showers of bolts flashing down onto the ground around them as Maalik was lucky to be far from the battle or he would have been roasted along with the student. Though it looked like it was over, another bolt came down from the sky as she called a name though he was unfamiliar with what she said and saw the ball of lightning expand into a dome of electricity enveloping the corpse, the student, and the girl inside. Just when he thought he was gonna be pulled in too, the dome stopped just inches away from his feet, a spark barely touching the tip of his nose.

Holding his breath, he backed up to a safer distance away from the dome as it vanished leaving behind nothing but ashes and destruction. The girl was still there but everything else was gone as if they had been taken with the dome but as he looked closer, he could see the charred remains of the bodies, his expression shocked at the massive energy used on just one student who could as well been finished off within minutes. The amount of power used was great as he could already tell it was a magic level above seven which should be used more on groups than on just one individual. Watching the girl from a far, he saw her almost collapse, her body weak from the attack she used. From the attacks earlier, he could tell that this student was from the Cross Light Academy, something he shouldn't affiliate himself with.

The girl was weak and Maalik was there to witness her powers. He could help her but his mind said otherwise as he didn't know her nor could he say he could trust her despite that she saved him. Clicking his tongue in annoyance at the choices laid out for him, Maalik was in debate whether to be the good guy or be the bad guy, of course, he wasn't gonna kill her off when she is so vulnerable now, he wasn't like that. Just when he was about to follow his heart to help her, another student appeared out of nowhere. It looked like the girl was gonna be killed off as he was going to make a dash in to save her but the other student didn't make a move in a way to threaten the Cross Light student. Rain poured down on them, beating on Maalik's head like a drum and soaking him in a cold shower, his body shivering,"

What a lovely weather the heavens had offered us.

" He thought sarcastically and out of a blur, another student approached the scene. Great... if this keeps up, he will get involved with a bloody massacre all because of that attack, which he didn't want to be joining in.

Turning away from them, he took a step before his nose started to itch,"

Cra- Ah...

CHOO

!

" Letting out a loud sneeze, he alerted the group of his presence as he sniffled, his nose bright red now from the rain,"

Great... at a time like this and my cover is blown.

" Not even glancing back at the others to see their reactions, he dashed off into the shadows and ran from the scene in hope no one to follow him. Turning a corner, he felt a familiar presence neary, similar to Narrin's. From his guess, it seemed the lightning had alerted his friends as well to come see what could be happening and if his calculation was correct, he could bump into them along the way as long as he continued going towards the way he felt their presence. It wouldn't be long till he would be reunited with his faithful companion once more.

♠Minori Kurosawa♠

Minori glanced at a red-haired girl who was hiding in the distance, but pretended not to notice. Instead, emotions whirled around in her head, trying to seem happy on the outside, but remained semi-depressed on the inside, which could be seen in her brightly colored green eyes. The rain seemed to have soaked Minori whole, but luckily it had died down a little bit. It was when she could sense a presence coming towards the three of them at an extremely fast rate, that she contemplated using 'Darkness Wave', but Eri was right next to her, so that wasn't an option. The only way to fight without harming Eri was using her scythe, but her arms were fatigued to the point where if she were to lift the scythe up, she would only drop it.

Out of the blue, a young man with white hair and crystal blue eyes appeared in front of them, eyes slightly widened at the sight. When he saw us, he seemed to think for a bit, before disappearing. 'What? Where'd he go!?' Those thoughts ran through Minori's head until she heard someone speak up from behind them.

"You know if you all stay here, you're probably gonna become easy targets for someone. By now, everyone's probably headed this way to check out what happened. How about I help you ladies get out of here?"

This made Minori jump a little, before turning her head slightly to see it was the white-haired boy who disappeared. Or rather, was so fast that it seemed like he disappeared. A toothy grin was plastered onto his features, as if trying to convince them. 'Someone from Silent Storms... I've only killed two people, one from Snowfall and one from Blazing Sun.' Minori thought, and an image of her mother flashed in her head. 'If this is a trap... I could maybe persuade him into not trying to hurt Eri or myself.' Minori glanced at Eri, then at the boy, then at the red-head who was peeking at the three of them from a pile of rubble.

"... By help us out of here,"

Minori paused, looking around for any others that may be near.

"Do you mean it as a threat, as if saying, 'I'll help you get to the other world'..."

She fully opened her emerald-like eyes, tiredness replaced with alert, as well as a little bit of anxiety.

"... Or actually 'help' us out of here before others start arriving?"

As if on cue, a sneeze was heard. Minori snapped her head in the direction of which it came from, only to see a red scarf disappear around the corner of a building just outside the high-leveled attack. 'Welp, remind me to point in his direction if the three of us do end up moving.'

Genevieve Eredia Vivelshion

~ Eri, The Level Ten Witch ~"You know I hate it when people chase me for indefinite amounts of time to try and kill me... Now then, to get my sword back," Eri said but was then interrupted by a few more happenings. "Easy targets? Did ya not see that magic just a moment ago? That's about my average level. Heck, only reason I'm a little tipsy's 'cause I forced that move to hold back. Like hell we'd need any help. Why even consider it, Miri? We're plenty capable." Eri forced herself to stand straight, using what little magical abilities she had left to give herself physical energy as to prevent dropping to the ground. Raising her left hand, she closed it around the hilt of a blade that just appeared from nowhere. "Should people come, they'll come. I'll just cut 'em up like I did the other hundred or so I've been forced to kill."

Eri brought her blade to the ground, swiftly carving a circular design with her sword into the ground, creating a full design around her feet. This was a circle well-known to all Cross-Light students as the level ten Energy spell, Gate of Asgard. of course all students should recognize it given all primary level ten spells were covered at some point, just not in any detail past being level ten and their circular design. "Now then, leave before I cast this spell and destroy everything within ten kilometers." Eri let go of the blade which caused it to vanish back to the Frozen Realm, snapping her fingers and generating a bit of electricity in her hand, making it seem like she was completely capable of activating that spell.

"The same goes for you right now, Miri... I'm in a foul mood, and I wouldn't hesitate to say this magic'll activate if you even make one wrong pronunciation and wind up saying something similar to what'd piss me off." Eri had the eyes of somebody who'd killed thousands, yet at the same time weren't the eyes of a killer, but rather the eyes of somebody who's lived through a hellish war and knew what killing meant, but still did so anyways for the sake of survival. Even if she hadn't had that kind of a past, her eyes definitely reflected she was that kind of person. "So what'll it be? Certain death, or the fortune of being let go by Cross-Light's number one student, the "Devil-Possessed Angel" that blew to bits twenty of the best defensive earth magic users from Philosopher's Stone despite the affinities?"

~ The Devil-Possessed Angel ~Genevieve Eredia Vivelshion, Cross-Light's "Devil-Possessed Angel." She was known by this for a good two years before any of this even began, though known for her magical potential a good five or six. topping it off, just a year before the war even broke out, she was declared Nayuta's strongest student for her fearsome Energy magic. She's been known to, when at her full potential, to be almost as fast as the fastest out there; Melody of the Silent Storms Academy. However, her rotten attitude made for her to be labelled an incarnation of the devil. She was, however, placed within the Cross-Light Academy, which most had at one time though of as a place only the pure could be at.

At one point Eri was pure, revered as a prized role-model student in Cross-light for a good few years for her outstanding capabilities. Three or four years of being a role model Genevieve was, some even calling her an actual angel with how beautiful her magic seemed to be. After three or four years of being a role model though, she suddenly secluded herself from people for a few months, then went from silent and secluded, to rotten in attitude. That's when she gained her new title, which spread all throughout Nayuta via the communications between students of different academies about school-related matters, though discussing school matters with other academies was something the students were forbidden from doing.

~ Gate of Asgard; The Twenty Corpse Massacre ~A single month into the war, and not too much blood has been shed. Supplies were still rather available at this point, but fighting over resources was already beginning due to the fact everybody knew resources would run out eventually. Meanwhile, Eredia was constantly under pursuit by Philosopher's Stone students, as they were the ones who received the most of the rumors regarding her and wished to kill her off before she could kill all of them. Their plan didn't work out very well for them though, as they soon found themselves in the midst of powerful magic, something that was indisputably level ten. Several people from all the different schools got to play witness to the magic; it was so intense and fast though, that nobody even knew what actually happened.

One thing that was clear to all the witnesses though, was that Eri'd killed those twenty by her own hand, and in the process created a nice open space over by the borders of the Philosopher's Stone and Chross-Light academies, which would from then on play the battlefield between those two schools. From then on, all the rumors about the "Devil-Possessed Angel" had been proven true, by how she even seemingly recovered only a minute after having unleashed the spell. Details regarding the fight before the use of her level ten magic is little known due to how most of those who viewed it having either come just shortly before the level ten or having forgotten by the shock of the level ten magic, though those who do remember would immediately tell about how she moved so fast that twenty or so earth users at once couldn't even take a single hair off her head with how fast she dodged every single bit of magic they threw, ranging from level five individually cast magic to level eight group cast magic.

Akarusa "Aki" Yami

Aki giggled as her prey began to scream in pure agony, their nails clawing at their scalp and their eyes bulging, unseeing. Images, sensations flashed before her and she selected several carefully before manifesting them with a gesture of her hand. Several figures loomed over the poor soul she tortured, they screamed, shrieked and berated her victim relentlessly. Any who looked on would simply see dark mist that rippled, like it had life to it, as if the poisonous fog were alive. The teenager inhaled the deathly fog, their skin beginning to blacken at the veins and their lips turning purple. They gasped desperately for air, lungs filled to the brim with filth and every breath only invited more mist to shred the cells within to pieces. Aki grinned up at something, mumbled softly and turned back to her victim, snapping her fingers so that the fog shrouded them in total darkness. The screaming ceased.

Several, wet coughs and sobs could vaguely be made out as the student began to fade away, their unseeing eyes losing their essence and their heart stilling finally. Aki's dress held several pockets that were hidden, one of which held a small brown pouch which she brought forth, opening it slowly. Like a vaccum, the mist was sucked into the little pouch and Aki replaced it's bindings before slipping it back into her pocket. What was left of the student she'd tortured and killed was a terrifying body. Eyes bulging, blood still dribbling out of a foaming mouth, twisted limbs and grayed, sometimes blackened skin. She hadn't known or cared what school they were from really, as long as her friend was happy with the outcome, then so was Aki. She turned to the figure on her right, the pale, misty figure greeting her with something akin to a smile.
"No more regrets?" She asked softly, the figure nodding slowly. "Then I must be off my friend. Safe travels." Whispering her goodybe Aki left the misty figure with the corpse, wandering the back alley streets of the city. Any who witnessed the exchange between Aki and her 'friend' would likely believe the girl insane. Nobody but her could ever see the figures, let alone speak to them.

In the distance Aki could make out a bolt of lightning followed shortly by a dome, a grin crept onto her face and she rolled her eyes. Eri was up to her usual mischief. Still maintaining her lazy gait, Aki changed directions, heading straight for the dome and where she assumed Eri to be.

Rain Lysae

"... By help us out of here,"
the raven-haired girl began, pausing shortly before continuing, "Do you mean it as a threat, as if saying, 'I'll help you get to the other world'..."

She fully opened her emerald-like eyes, tiredness replaced with alert, as well as a little bit of anxiety.

"... Or actually 'help' us out of here before others start arriving?"

At that moment, as the girl's eyes opened wide with anticipation, Rain couldn't help but stare into them. His sapphire orbs were entranced by her eyes of emerald. There was a moment of silence, the Rain snapped himself out of his trance, realizing that he was staring at her much longer than he would have liked to.

He turned away, a bit embarrassed by his own behavior, scratching the back of his head in an act of mild nervousness.

"If I wanted you dead I wouldn't have wasted time talking to you girls," he stated as he was still attempting to recover. Something about the girl seemed very familiar to him.

"Cra- Ah... CHOO!"

The sudden, unanticipated sneeze made Rain immediately turn to face the direction of the noise. Just as he spotted the intruder, the intruder began to flee. There was no reason for a pursuit, so Rain did not follow.

The raven-haired girl seemed like she would not need much more persuasion to begin to move out, but that's when her friend chimed in. She was the one who had used the high level magic, and she didn't seem to appreciate being thought of as a target.

After going off about not requiring any help and being able to fend for herself, the blonde attempted to make a point by beginning the formation of a magic circle. Rain raised a brow at these antics, as the magic circle she was carving into the ground looked very similar to that of a level ten spell. In fact, it WAS the magic circle of a level ten spell. That's when Rain had to interrupt.

"Are you insane," he shouted. This girl had just cast a very powerful spell, and despite her efforts to make it seem as though she was completely fine, Rain knew better than to fall for that bluff. There was no way in hell she would be able to cast a level ten magic without seriously injuring herself.

"Now then, leave before I cast this spell and destroy everything within ten kilometers."

A grinding sound began to emanate from Rain's mouth, a consequence of his grinding his teeth together. His plan had been foolish and careless from the start, hoping to befriend the powerful mage so that he may use her help to eliminate all other schools until only theirs were left, at which point he had every intention to betray her, as he would have no other choice but to do. It seemed that he was right to doubt that approach, as it was already proving to be a failure.

"The same goes for you right now, Miri... I'm in a foul mood, and I wouldn't hesitate to say this magic'll activate if you even make one wrong pronunciation and wind up saying something similar to what'd piss me off."

She then turned to face Rain. Once again, Rain was entranced by the eyes of these girls. This one had golden eyes, glimmering with a certain essence that was very familiar to him. Her expression, it was as if he had experienced it several times before. Ah, yes. There was no mistaking it. It was THAT look. The same one he had seen many times in the reflections of ponds and puddles. She had the eyes of a murderer, one with nothing but regrets for what she had to do.

"So what'll it be? Certain death, or the fortune of being let go by Cross-Light's number one student, the "Devil-Possessed Angel" that blew to bits twenty of the best defensive earth magic users from Philosopher's Stone despite the affinities?"

Rain had been listening to her, but it seemed as if time had frozen still at a certain point in her statement. The last words he heard continued to echo throughout his mind.

"...the 'Devil-Possessed Angel'..."

"What,"

That name, he recognized that name.

"...the 'Devil-Possessed Angel'..."

"Did I hear that right,"

His heartbeat began to accelerate.

"...the 'Devil-Possessed Angel'..."

"If I don't kill you here, how many of my classmates will die in the future?"

His body began to tremble with bloodlust. His aura began to visibly glow, seemingly burning off his body.

"Calm down, you don't stand a chance against her. Not as you are now."

And just like that, his aura dissipated, dying down as quickly as it had appeared. His muscles relaxed, no longer tense with anxiety. The trembling ceased, and the bloodlust vanished.

Rain's head had been tilted downward during this moment, his eyes shaded because of the angle of the tilt. However, he began to look up, his eyes finally revealing themselves once more. His vibrant, vivacious blue eyes had dulled, looking almost machine-like. His amusement and interest had disappeared, replaced by an understanding of the situation.

And yet, despite everything, he didn't move. He refused to move a single muscle. He stared into the golden eyes of the one widely known as the "Devil-Possessed Angel." His stare was unrelenting, he continued to look deep into her, analyzing her expression, as if trying to read her entire life with one look.

The expression she had on before, one of a regret-filled murderer, that was not a mistake in judgement from Rain. If this girl before him was the mass killer that he had heard of, then why did she have that expression?

Rain's lifeless eyes began to gradually regain their purity, and he finally attempted to answer the threat.

"Look, I'll be frank with you. Even if you're the 'Devil-Possessed Angel,' if you try to unleash that spell, you won't survive another day," Rain stated bluntly.

"But if you want me gone, I guess I can't really refuse. We're bound to meet again anyway," Rain said, his eyes brimming with interest as, not for a single moment, did his eyes break away from the girl in front of him. This was a chance encounter, but he knew it wouldn't be the last. Rain was one of the top students at Silent Storms, so if all went down their own paths, there would be a point of collision with Cross-Light's ace student. He had to get stronger if he wanted to stand a chance.

Rain finally broke his glare, turning to face the raven-haired girl. To her, he flashed a smile. He had not forgotten about her. This girl had garnered his interest as well. Something about her...he had to know more. These two girls seemed to be allied, were they of the same school? So many questions.

Raising his hand, Rain gestured a goodbye to the raven-haired girl.

He turned away, beginning to walk away from the group, when he stopped abruptly.

Turning only his head back, he said, "Oh, and by the way, the name is Mercury," before he continued to walk.

♠Minori Kurosawa♠

Minori was confused. She didn't know that Eri was famous, but she didn't like the fact that she was using it to her advantage like that, threatening to kill anyone within a ten-Kilometer radius. The look in her eyes, looked like the eyes of a killer. She knew that Eri was a killer, but at the same time, not really. It was like she didn't really care that this was going on; She was saving students from other schools, but it wouldn't ever end if she continued to do that. Also, It was an opportunity to kill for her own personal reason, to survive. Whatever that may be, she was still causing death, even if saving another's life. That's what Minori thought, at the least. It almost... Irked her.

Having already been in a war had Minori shaken; Not visibly, but it was still there. All of the negative emotions would soon build up and snap her calm manner in half. Minori only sighed, and started to walk away; She was so close to losing it, but what triggered? Was it that one of the two people she’d call a friends threatened her? Was it that she didn’t seem to do a thing?

“Suffering. I’ve dealt with all my life.

Pain. Inevitable, eating me away on the inside.

Envy. Why do I hold back?

Sorrow. I’m breaking apart…

Conflicted. I don’t know what to do anymore…

Uncertain. What am I doing here?

Fear. Am I that weak?

Shame. I’m too soft..

Unwanted. No one needs me to be around…

Misled. Oh, how wrong was I to come here...

Alone. No one would care if I were to perish.

Insanity. You know what…

May I go on?”

Minori conceded, quietly, in a monotone voice. She wasn’t sure if anyone had heard her then, but if they did, she didn’t care. Her cloaked figure vanished in the darkness as she ran, right past the white-haired boy who claimed to be Mercury, deeper into the slums of Nayuta.

~

Memories seemed to be flowing in, one by one. Minori balled her fists, an aura coming off of her. Normally, it would be voilet, but, in this case, it was for some reason, black. Leaves swirled around her as the aura seemed to become stronger. Everyone nearby could sense it, and feel the negative emotions coming from a lone, black-haired girl. It was if, almost the whole of Nayuta could feel these emotions.

Minori continued to travel, and eventually, she started walking on the roofs of the remaining buildings.

“... Why are the memories here… They should be gone. Or, perhaps, pain is the only thing I should feel.”

* ".... Yuuki..? Yuuki? Wake up… Yuuki, stop playing… C’mon, they’re dead… They’re gone… We can go back to the village now…”

Minori, 13 years old, kneeled over her fallen comrade; Her best friend. She didn’t want to believe it, her best friend.. Gone. She shook the remains of what used to be Yuuki until she gave up; She knew she was dead, forever gone. Killed by Yuka Kazuya. The snow covered the ground, tainted with red, the very familiar red known as blood.*

“... Yuuki..”

* “Why did you die… It was over! If you had lived 5 minutes longer…”

Minori mourned over her deceased father, Riku. She had lost many close friends and family during the War, her clan against the Kazuyas. Her blade was permanently stained with the blood of her enemies. She never wanted to kill again. She would snap if she got into fights, and she didn’t have control over her emotions.*

“Father……”

The early morning breeze played with her hair. The moon, which was now halfway visible due to it descending, shone over Minori.

“What do you know? I ended up killing more, and even got myself into another war.”

The scent of blood was wafting through the air and into her nose, a somewhat metallic mixed with the soil kind of stench. Kazuha was sliding two stones together, hoping the friction will be enough to provide her warmth by starting a fire, sitting in a squatting position near the twigs and sticks she had collected. After several failed efforts, she finally threw them both away in frustration and release a groan of exhaustion while kicking away the pile of wood.
"Yeah sure, teach us stuff like magic and fighting so we can win for the principal but no survival skills whatsoever, great." she muttered sarcastically knowing that no one will be around to hear it from using her senses. Shivering as she stood up due to the freezing weather as the season of fall was coming to a close and winter was approaching, she hugged both of her shoulders with the attempt of trying to keep herself warm. She initiated her search through Nayuta, walking aimlessly to locate at least for something to quench her thirst that maybe had not yet to be discovered by another while also detecting the vibrations to avoid crossing path with other students, even if they were her comrades from the same school, Philosopher's Stone. If she were to encounter them, there is a great chance that they would insist her on killing more just for the sake of their beloved principal or to search and rob them of their resources. Presently, her main motive had already changed compared to the one she has at the start of the battle royale, thinking only about her own survival and tries to avoid anymore bloodshed only if forced to.

A few thoughts came up to her mind when thinking about how she will experience the upcoming wintertime and the one that has a high probability of happening would of course, be killed by a student who was not her schoolmate. Other than that, her cause of death will either be that she died because of hunger and also thirst or thanks to the 'sweet and lovely' cold. Either way, she would not last long if she were to continue on her passive actions however it is not like she had never acknowledge this. The pain and guilt when remembering the other participants of whom she had cold-bloodedly ended their lives, she cringed upon recollecting the state of their lifeless body. Seeing corpses laying around her sight of vision without receiving a proper burial instead was left alone as if they were worthless at the same time she was also to be blame for doing the same thing, trying to ignore them and never thought of even giving them one since they were obviously strangers. Perhaps they would get a decent funeral once all of this is over, considering they did not completely decay first.

As time passed, Kazuha had finally stopped in her tracks then put her hands together, receiving a sudden flash into her head of an idea.
"When snowfalls, I could eat it and that would be a great water source..." — she paused mid-sentence and her bright smile who was quite proud of the thought to be clever suggestion had turned into a depressed frown, having realizing its faults. "I will soon have a peaceful death, blanketed by the snow, huh. Really... my brain could be rotting at the moment." She disappointedly let out a soft sigh then proceed to walk again and resume her quest.

From where she was, there was an unexpected beam came out from the above followed by the formation of a dome-shaped light.
"That looks strong..." Kazuha was in awe seeing the spectacle before her, gaping her mouth a bit unconsciously. "And is so a place where I shouldn't be." As she tried to walk the other way, there was a slight feeling of curiosity in her that kept her from moving forward, being that she really wants to know the origin and probably get to know the person who caused it. "It's bright and seems okay, he or maybe she couldn't be such a bad person, right?" She made a 180 degrees, turning around to head where she expected people to gather after also having seeing the sight but did not care just to see who the person was.
