The sound echoed throughout the small, cozy room that Alec Sage resided in. It wasn't his entire apartment he was in, but the room he was currently sitting in. He held up the wristwatch to his ear, his eyes closed in a form of peace, relaxation, and concentration. The watch itself was given to Alec by his father who, as Alec knows, died many years ago. Alec always kept the watch close to him, as it is the only thing he has from his dad. Because of this, Alec always preferred that the watch would be on the exact right time, or at least as close to that as possible. As he continued to listen with his eyes closed, the watch continued...

There it was. The tiny flaw in the whole system that nobody else except for Alec could register, unless somebody came by with super hearing. However, this super hearing ability was in fact not what Alec had. No, he had something known as Intuitive Aptitude. In other words, the power to understand anything, even the most complex items such as a human brain or rocket ship, in a matter of seconds or minutes, the time being higher or lower depending on how complicated the object or living creature is. This was a quite powerful ability that was always useful both on and off of the field in a number of ways. However, at the moment, he was unaware of the mission that was about to take place, as he has been isolated in his home for quite some time. This was most likely due to the fact that he always liked to tinker with things, especially watches, in his spare time.
Alec, continuing to use his gift, had finally found the wrong he needed to right within his father's watch.
"One minute and 32 seconds off..." Alec muttered silently to himself as he opened up the back of the watch.
He changed a few things and tinkered with a few things on the watch before he finally set the time exactly right. He closed the watch back up as he put it around his wrist, making sure that it was snug before he got up off of the chair in his bedroom. There had also been a table there. Alec stumbled into the main living area and kitchen. Obviously, it wasn't anything fancy or big, but it was roomy enough for Alec to get around with ease.
As Alec began to get some breakfast ready, as he had recently been keeping leftovers from the mess hall, he noticed something in front of the door. He walked over, seeing that it was some sort of letter. He picked it up and tore it open. As he rummaged through the documents that were given to him, he realized quickly that a mission was about to take place at that exact moment.
"Perfect..." He mumbles sarcastically to himself as he rushes back into his bedroom to gather his gear.
He read that it was going to be a long mission, and that camping supplies were going to be required, or at least highly recommended. As Alec stepped into his room, he then proceeded to open a walk-in closet. He was lucky to have this closet, as he stored most of his gear in there. Not wanting to be late or miss the mission itself, Alec frantically rushed to get two large, black duffle bags. He then packed all of the gear he could in there including a special-ops type suit he had stolen from a Protector a while back, some weapons consisting of knives, firearms, and even a wrist crossbow that shoots sleeping darts. Alec had gotten, or, you know, stolen this stuff from Protectors, but he still took a little bit of pride in having the tactical equipment.
It probably seemed like overkill to bring all of this stuff on a scavenging mission in what Alec assumes is an abandoned hospital, but he wanted to be prepared for anything. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Finally, Alec had packed just about everything he had, and was ready to go. Currently wearing a black T-shirt and some jeans, he decides to quickly throw a black jacket on. He picks up his two heavy duffle bags, having to adjust himself a little bit to get comfortable with carrying them; It's not like he had super strength or anything. Having both of the duffle bags slung on each shoulder, Alec strained to get the mission documents that had been in his pocket. He unfolded them and scanned over them, easily memorizing all of the information on the pages in a matter of seconds thanks to his ability.
The smell of fresh air filled Alec's nose as he walked outside of the apartment complex he lived in. After about 10 minutes of walking, he finally approached the group.
'Horses... Fun.' Alec thinks to himself as he ever-so-slightly rolls his eyes. Of course he preferred it when they supplied gas-powered vehicles (cars) to them, but with it being only 25 miles and a simple scavenging hunt, supposedly it is a good idea, as it will save the New Generation gas and money.
Alec planned on greeting everyone individually, as he had gotten to know most of them a somewhat decent amount on missions and in the mess hall, but due to the amount of people already there, he decided to go with a simple-enough method, "Hey everyone."
With that, Alec chose the horse that looked in its best condition. After he had done so, he sat down his duffle bags beside him. He didn't want to strap the bags to the horse immediately, as it clearly wouldn't be necessarily calming for the horse to stand frozen, carrying a bunch of weight on him/herself. He then simply leaned lightly against the horse, awaiting the arrival of anyone else, if there even was anyone else that was destined to show up.
