A groan made its way out of Juniper's mouth as she rolled over on to her side. Disoriented she tried to pull the covers over her head to block out the sun. Instead her hand griped a fistfull of sand the gritty grains slipping between her fingers. Eyes snapping open instead of her bedroom it was desert, pure sand, cactus, and tumbleweeds. "What the fuck?" Juniper cursed turning her head to get a full scope of her surroundings. Hoping that it was some stupid joke that was pulled on her, and hoping to hear laughter at the joke. No, luck just desert and the occasional lizard scurrying past.


Doing her best not to panic and mantra of "keep calm, keep calm, keepcalmkeepcalm." Juniper pushed herself up, staggering as her heels dug into the sand. She was still dressed up for the network party she desperately tried to remember what had happened.

Flashback

Putting another layer of lipstick to the now fading coat Juniper made her way back to the other party goers. It was another company meet and greet, with investors, CEOs, and all the higher ups mingled with the on air crew of the station. So instead of staying home and lazing out with her son and a giant tub of rocky road she was here alone talking and socializing. Usually it wouldn't of bothered her, but it had been a stressful week and trying to politely bat away a few handsie higher-ups she was ready to call it a night.


Making sure she had made her rounds saying polite "Goodbyes" "No, I really wish I could, but I have to go." Juniper made her way toward the exit pulling out her phone to give Jonathan a call. After it went to voice mail she decided to just leave a text message,

Juniper couldn't remember anything after she sent the message not getting in the car or seeing anyone nothing.Taking a shaky breath Juniper decided to head in the direction of the sun it seem to be early morning. Staggering with her heels in the sand Juniper made her way it was no use staying.


What felt like forever, but must of been a few hours Juniper felt like collapsing her dress clung to her with sweat. She was sure every inch of her was sweaty and dirty any exposed skin was probably sunburn and her legs felt about ready to collapse. Lucky awhile back she was able to find a road that she was walking on so she wasn't completely barred from civilization. Juniper was sure she was getting heat stroke so it took awhile for her to realized that the vroom sound wasn't caused by her pounding headache, but an up coming car slowing down.


"Hey are you okay?"


Spinning around as fast as she could Juniper stared at the car in disbelief were an older women and her teenage daughter were in.


"Shit! Mom thats the women from the news! The one that went missing." The teen girl turned to her mother taking out her phone to show her the missing person that was splashed across the newsfeed. Juniper tried to open her mouth to speak, but only a dry wheeze escaped before she dropped on the asphalt.


"Shit! Call the police or something Em! Hey hold on we're getting help!" Juniper heard the voice growing distant as she slipped into unconsciousness.

"Well how do I look?" Jasper turned to look at his mom from his parents bed to the closet. His mom twirled around giving Jasper a smile that he returned. "You look pretty mom." Sliding off the bed to wrap his hands around her. "Is Dad coming with you?" Jasper asked looking up to his Mom noticing the slight strain smile on her face. "Your Daddy has work he can't come sweetie. Now you be good for your uncle and have fun." Squeezing his mom as she planted a kiss on his head and head out the bedroom towards the front door, with on last wave Jasper closed the door behind her.

After a night of marvel movie marathon Jasper sleepily made his way to his bed leaning on Teddy. Putting on a shirt and pajama bottoms not caring if they matched Jasper flopped on to his bed, wiggling under his covers. Distantly he hear Teddy barking with a few growls thrown in before he completely fell asleep unable to wake up even if his barks got more frantic.

"Teddy" Drowsy Jasper pushed himself up rubbing a hand to take the gunk out of his eyes. Blinking a few times to look around for the big ball of fur Jasper was met with trash. It look like an alleyway like when they went into the city narrow, slightly damp, and filled with trash. Push himself up his bare feet padded against the rough ground he made his way out. He came to a street crowded with people milling around.


"Mom!" Jasper called feeling his heart squeeze tightly because he knew this wasn't a dream, because his feet hurt from the cold rough ground.


"Dad!"


Jasper called again like any child trying to seek out the two people that were the ultimate symbol of safe and comforting. A few people gave him looks uneasy on what to do. The foreign child obviously lost, but not sure if they should help "Surely someone else would step in?" The bystander effect taking over and stopping the majority from helping the boy.


"MOMMY!DADDY!"


Jasper shouted tears rolling down his face as he sobbed for his parents. "They always came to him no matter what they wouldn't just leave him. Right?" Panicking Jasper started running through the crowd his yells being reduced to sobs.

"Oh no stuck in some alleyway without any idea how I got here." That would of been what most people would think, but who was he kidding it wasn't the first time this had happen. Hell it wasn't even the second so Jericho picked himself up from the trash. Making his way out of the alley he looked around it seemed like he was in India. Smiling at a few people who gave him strange look as he slightly staggered out.


He should call home see how everything was. A grimace made its way on his face Juniper was going to chew his ear off and go full mom mode on him. Then their was his brother-in-law who probably had to deal with a worried Jun for how ever long he had been gone. Struck them off the list fishing in his pocket for his phone."Fucking shit just great." Jericho cursed when he dug and patted himself down for his phone. Nope, no luck and he had only really memorized three numbers Juniper's home phone, May' s cell, and Sophie' s. Hopefully Sophie wouldn't kill him for what ever time difference he was calling her at Jericho went in search for a phone.


As he made his way past the crowed he notice the coughing while a few had some noticeable cysts covering them. Jericho cursed again the stupid virus this year's version of swine flu. He really hoped he wouldn't have to be quarantined. Doing his best to avoid the obviously sick he finally found a phone he could use.

"Yes! Can I help you?" Came the sharp and clip voice on the other side of the phone.


"Hey Sophie! I'm kind of in India right now you know. Can you you know help me to the good ol' USA?"





"...Je-Jericho? Is that you? Oh my god are Juniper and Jasper with you?"





"What? No why would they be here. Are you OKAY?" Jericho replied worry edging his voice.





"Jericho you've been gone for a week. So are Juniper and Jasper."Sophie said slowly "I'll do my best to get you a plane back just hold on." Jericho felt his heart drop as Sophie explained to him what happened and where to head from his given location.


"Fuck what happened?"
