“You just need to get used to it Remus. You’ll have plenty of time here at Hogwarts. There’s lots of people. It’ll be fun. And of course you have me, James, and Peter!” Sirius replied with a grin. “Us three you can’t escape, even if you try. I wouldn’t let ya. Plus you took with us,” snickered Sirius, joking.

Right around then, Professor Slughorn clear his throat. Everyone in the class had finished, either successfully or not. He’d checked over everyone’s work and given them his thoughts. Now, class time was over, so the potions master dismissed the class. Lily was glad her first class of the day was successful. James Potter wasn’t such an awful partner. She did wonder where that Remus Lupin fellow had went. He didn’t return.

James sighed. “I have to find Remus and Sirius. Remus looked really upset…” He bit his thumb. He wished he could’ve went with them, but this was the first time he had the chance to have a professor actually like him. Walking out wasn’t going to help. Especially not after that argument.

“Right. You go on then, Potter. Just be there for next class so you aren’t late,” Lily advised him. “Oh and Potter? Good work today,” she added, giving him a soft smile before letting him go off to check on his friends.

James smiled. “You too. Thanks for cutting the slugs. I know it was gross and most girls don’t like gross things.”

Lily giggled, “It’s no problem,” she said, even if it had made her a little queasy in the stomach. Soon Peter came scurrying up to James with a worried look on his face. “Remus and Sirius never came back,” he said to his friend.

“We should check there,” nodded Peter in agreement. He quickly tugged on James’ sleeve to get him to start towards Gryffindor Tower.

Peter went with James to Gryffindor Tower. When they reached the Fat Lady, Peter tried a few attempts at a password when finally he got it, surprising himself this memory. The two then entered the common room where sure enough, Sirius and Remus were there. Sirius was sitting in an arm chair next to a couch that Remus was sprawled out on.

Remus had a pillow over his face, finding the light of the common room too much after sitting for a while.

“Hey. You two okay?” James frowned.

“Remus! Sirius!” Peter said as he hurried over to them. “Yea, are you alright?” he asked, adding to James’ worry and concern. “Yea, we’re alright,” chuckled Sirius in response. “Right now Remus’ stomach is just bugging him. He’s resting now while the ginger some house elf gave him kicks in,” he explained to the two.

Remus let out a muffled noise of agreement.

James frowned. “Why didn’t you just go to Madame Pomfrey?”

“I wanted to see if they had this muggle drink called ginger ale, so we went to the kitchen,” explained Sirius. “Plus it was during class time so I didn’t want to show up and have her yell at me or Remus,” he added. “They didn’t have any ginger ale- some muggle drink that helps stomach pains. My cousin Andromeda showed me it,” he told them. “But they did have ginger which helps too. Now Remus is just resting. Think he’s alright though.”

“Look at him! He looks bloody miserable. We should take him to Madame Pomfrey.” James crossed his arms. “Where does it hurt, Remus?”

Remus lowered the pillow. “I-I’m fine, James. I don’t have to go.”

“He does, doesn’t he?” Peter replied in agreement. “Poor Remus. Maybe he’s got a stomach bug,” he proposed. Sirius looked over at Remus and frowned. “I dunno, maybe we should take him…” he said softly.

He really didn’t want Madame Pomfrey to comment on his weight in front of his friends. “I’m sure I can hold out until lunch.”

James put his hands on his hips. “Remus, waiting will only make it worse. If you’re not feeling well, you should go.”

“James is right,” nodded Sirius in agreement. “Yea Remus, you don’t look well. We wouldn’t want you throwing up in class. Go see Pomfrey, please,” suggested Peter.

Remus sighed. “Fine. I’ll go.”

“Sirius, you want to go with him? To make sure he makes it okay?”

“Of course!” Sirius replied, jumping to his feet almost a little too quickly. “Y- yea, I’ll take him,” he said with a nod.
