Realistic or Modern The Lucky Willow (Accepting)

Al stared at the set of papers in front of her, blue eyes flitting back up to the suited man sitting across. He was clearly uncomfortable. Probably new, never dealt with Mythics directly before. It was always awkward when a human was used as a proxy. Still, a human walking around town was less likely to call attention than a Mythic. The Jabberwocky cleared her throat, sliding one hand across her pink hair to flip it behind.

"Only...vun?"

The man shifted slightly under her stare. Was she being scary? Scheisse, that wasn't good. A smile to try and calm him. He avoided looking directly at her. Alphonsine wasn't a particularly intimidating looking woman. Her long hair was a pastel pink, sharp blue eyes stared out with a constant smile. Though she was tall, she had a subdued figure. Her clothing was comfortable, a thick burgundy sweater with loose jeans. You'd almost never guess she was a 50 foot long demon made of crystal.

"Considering the nature...uh, of this new tenant-"

"He ist insane?"

"That, uh, has yet to be determined. But between that, and the unfortunate loss of your third, we felt it best to not overburden you."

Al returned her gaze to the papers. Django Al Dente. Sounded like a joke name to be honest, wasn't that a pasta? Half-demon, and quite a few side notes about how he talks to someone he calls the Creator.

"Vut about Quinton? Vill she be moved?"

"No, as the senior member of the Safe House, she'll be placed under your care."

The Jabberwocky twitched at that. She gave a weak smile.

"Ahm, she has zee afraid of tall though. Are you sure I vould be a good mash?"

"We're confident you can handle this task."

Quinton, the half-dragon. The girl was quiet, but nice enough. She was, however...twitchy around the Jabberwocky. Apparently she was afraid of taller people. Unfortunately, her previous bodyguard, an Anubite, had been killed while keeping her safe from an attempted kidnapping. Haven was still investigating whether they had found out about her heritage or if it was just an incredibly unlucky fluke. But that apparently put the girl square in Alphonsine's care. This could get awkward. Al gave a short smile before standing up.

"Very well. Sank you for coming, I show you ze door?"

"No, I uh...I can find it on my own, thank you."

As the man left, Al looked at the papers again. Well, if Quinton was under her care now, that would leave this Django under Lapis' care. Hopefully the two would get along. She was more concerned that they were only getting one new tenant. This meant they weren't getting more staff. At the moment, the staff included Alphonsine, who was currently also doubling as the liason between the Willow and Haven, L as the second bodyguard, a maid of sorts that showed up once a week, and Rorsh, a cyclops that conducted weekly inspections on the group and relayed information and supplies. The safe house was far larger than it needed to be, though most of that was for security purposes.

As the German walked down the hall mumbling to herself in German, she paused and rapped on Lapis' door, still holding the papers. L had become like a little sister to the Jabberwocky, seeing as she had watched her grow from an amnesiac little girl into quite an accomplished bodyguard. Still, she was aware of her temper, and this Django seemed...high maintenance. Best prepare her now. Then came the task of telling Quinton that she'd have a 6'2" bodyguard following her around from now on.

"Gott hilf mir..."

Django had finally reached The Lucky Willow after taking his sweet time choosing what walk cycle he wanted to do. The extra time he wasted was pretty much on decision making, and while he eventually decided to walk like Drake in 'Hotline Bling' he was still bored. Most of the stuff he pretty much couldn't carry was already moved to the place. His green angular fringe had a little blowing against a slight breeze while he let out a nice grin towards the place. One could see a bright gold tooth located to the right of his two front upper teeth. Since he wanted to dress normally for this, he decided to wear his typical white long shirt with a fur vest over it. His pants were blue jeans that look a little ripped. He had his two steel balls, Bonnie and Clyde, in holsters on each side of his pants. There was another holster for his smoke confetti gun, Boom-Bewm. Inside his left pocket was his yo-yo, Jo-Jo, and in his right pocket was a wallet with a hundred dollar bill.

"Here it is. Home away from HOME~!" He said in a singing tone as he had his two arms in the air as if preaching. "You know I do hope they have a nice hot tub or something, but hey do I even need to use a hot tub?" One would think he was looking at nothing, but he was referring to me as I was typing. "Oh right, for the nature of the fourth wall and stuff you really can't talk to me. Ehh....," he had this humdrum look on his face. He had reached the front of the place.

Awaiting in a large gray room lived a young creature, sleeping on her bed in a fetal position. It had been quite loud on the upper levels of the building in the morning, yet she was surprisingly a heavy sleeper. Slowly she began to stir, fluttering her eyelids until they fully opened, tiredly looking around at her room. The walls were a dark brown while a large black circular bed lay in the middle of it. Portraits and assortments of paintings lined the wall, while a mirror lay to the right of the bed, a porcelain skull sitting in the center. Quinton slowly rose up from the bed, placing her feet on the chilling laminate floor, holding the edge of the bed softly with her nimble fingers for support. She yawned, rising finally from the bed and moving to her dresser, picking an outfit for her human body. While she searched, she quietly spoke to herself. "Humans use clothing to cover their forms... perhaps for protection? But what of?" After she finished speaking, she grabbed a few articles of clothing: blue skinny jeans, white t-shirt, and undergarments. Quickly she worked on dressing, slowly doing so while still getting use to the idea of clothing. It took her at least half of an hour but she managed the best that she could, topping off her outfit by inserting her golden earring in her right ear. A smile crept unto her face after she checked herself in the mirror by her bed, tracing a finger on her earring. Gold... Oh how I love riches. What true dragon doesn't? She sighed, walking to her closet to make sure that her smallest pile of gold was still in her possession. Good... still there. I must check my stash in the forest soon... haven't checked since that poor guardian was... She gulped, backing into her bed at the thought of the poor soul's death, and the scene caused by it.

It was in the forest when she left the Haven to check on her riches, greed consuming her and leaving her to ignore her guardian's pleas to go back to the Haven. Yet now in her memory the pleas were drowned out by the cries of agony while the Anubite was brutally murdered by kidnappers, whose true aim were to grab the dragon girl. While Quinton ran far away, like the guardian told her to do, tears of hatred for the loss flooded her eyes.

She shook her head, grabbing her temple softly with her hand while she tried to shake off the memory. "No matter, for Quenth is still here, yet unable to protect her old home, burned long ago." The dragon whispered to herself comforting words while she opened the door to the hallway, leaving it open to await for her new guardian, whom she saw much earlier. A chill went down her spine while her gut fell at the sudden realization. "I suppose they think Quinton must overcome her fear... What a trump card they've played on me." A slight growl emitted from her throat, but was immediately stopped in risk of others taking interest in her strange facade. She crossed her arms backing up and sitting down on her bed while she waited.

L was sitting on her bed and listening to music with closed eyes. She always played music when she was alone in her room, the silence simply made her thoughts run wild and cause her head to hurt. Although that she disliked silence she loved being alone as she wasn't obligated to behave in any specific way when she was by herself. The only person in Lucky Willow she got along with was Al as everyone else thought she was a ticking bomb but still respected her skills.

As soon as she heard a knock on the door to her room she jumped out of her bed rushing over to the door. She opened the door in such a speed you would think it'd rip off. When she saw Al standing on the other side a big smile spread across her face while saying "Heeey big sis what's the news?"

@Spawnling (Sorry it took me so long to answer)

Al smiled down at the Black Knight, resisting the urge to hug her. Professionalism!

"Ach, mein ritter. You haf much of ze energy today. Und, I'm sorry in...er..."

What was 'advance' in English?! Forget it, move on. The Jabberwocky flushed slightly at her mishap, and tried to move ahead. Hopefully L wouldn't notice the German had forgotten the word. She held the papers on Django out to her with an apologetic look.

"Our new tenant. He ist...vell...odd, ja? He should be arriving any of ze moments. I vould help, but I haf been assigned to Quinton."

Alphonsine's eyes instinctively moved towards the bedroom door of the dragon, which was open. She had probably already guessed that Al would be her new bodyguard...it wasn't a far leap of logic. Al turned back to Lapis with a warm smile.

"He ist half-demon, und apparently speaks viz somevun he kalls...ze Kreator? Try to be patient wiz him, ja? I am ze sure you vill do vell. Howeffer, zis means ve vill not be getting anyvun to replace Horus. Und I don't know for how long zat vill be ze kase."

She looked back down to Quinton's bedroom with a soft dejected sigh, then placed one hand on L's head, giving it an affectionate rub.

"Und...now I get to scare mein tenant...vish me luck."

A few strides, and Al peeked in around the door frame, immediately locking eyes with Quinton. A smile, and she stepped fully into view.

"Hallo Quinton. I am ze sure you know zat I am repl-...er, I am taking ofer ze duties as your new bodyguard, ja?"

Her blue eyes immediately surveyed the room, including the linked door to Horus' old room. She would need to move her stuff into there soon...her eyes flitted back to Quinton as she gestured around the room.

"May I kom in?"

-----------------------

"That isn't the point sir."

"Then what is your point? One of our people died, it happens, it's part of the job, they know the risks."

Director Magnus stared down at the wight in the suit, all three eyes glaring daggers. The wight blanched for a moment, then cleared his throat and straightened his tie.

"The point, sir, i-is that the people responsible for the death may have been LEAD to that location by information given by...by..."

"By whom?"

"...by one of us. There's sufficient evidence that suggests a former bodyguard is...targeting...our clients."

The Director of Haven leaned forward, tail whipping around behind the devil in mild agitation.

"Tell me everything you know, or think you know."

Django had arrived in front of the building. It was quite the place, and Django wondered whether or not the place actually did have a hot tub. He then decided to shout, "Heeeeeeeeeeeeello? Al Dente has arrived, and is requesting entry pleaseeee~!," he said in a sing-song tone as he started juggling his steel balls. "You know I'm hoping the bed's like that memory foam stuff you know?" He asked me as I was typing. There wasn't much I could do except shrug my shoulders since I couldn't really tell him anything.

@Spawnling

L felt slightly annoyed that she got such late notice on this assignment, but she couldn't stay mad at her German big sis. "Urgh!" She said loudly and turned of her music. She knew that the reason for Al being the one to bring the message was that they knew she wouldn't use her manipulative powers on her and it pissed her off. She walked out her bedroom door slamming it shut.

She then made her way to the entrance and started waiting for her new tenant. She really disliked having to deal with new tenants as they always thought they were more important than their bodyguard. She crossed her arms while observing who went in and out the front entrance.

She looked down at the papers in her hand that said 'Django Al Dente' in the top.

Soon she heard a loud voice announcing that he was the new tenant, she quickly walked over and stood in front of him. "Hello there. I'm Lapis Cornell, but you will call me L. Hope you don't bring me trouble." She said in a bored tone.

(It's kinda fun how I get most of the German since I live in Denmark and the two languages are a bit similar xD )

He was approached by a woman with red hair who seemed to be a bodyguard. Django did a little 360 degree spin before greeting her, "It's dapper to meet you L. You must already know my name, so I won't waste your time. Soooo what do I do?" He asked her with curiosity on his face. "I'm just hoping for that hot tub," he said to me as I was typing.

@JessieCarrie

"There are hut tubs in the men's shower room." She said looking at him and dismissing the fact that he was talking to someone non-existing. "And what you do here is stay indoors, stay out of trouble and not bother me unless it's really important. However for safety purposes I have to follow you everywhere." She smirked a bit thinking how that probably meant he wouldn't be so happy about the hut tub anymore.

@YoungX

"Welllll thank youu for sating my curiosity. Now then, I suppose I'll have to go see my room then?" He said while beginning to juggle his steel balls, Bonnie and Clyde, again.

@JessieCarrie

"Follow me" She said while starting to move in a fast pace considering her short legs. She didn't exactly feel too annoyed yet, but definitely could see herself getting very annoyed with him in the future.

@YoungX

"Yes ma'am," he said obediently as he followed L keeping with her pace. He looked around and found himself loving the place and feels like he is home away from home, even if he never really did have a permanent home. "I never really did have a permanent home, so I can't call this home away from home," he whispered to me as I typed this up.

@JessieCarrie

L heard Django whispering behind her not bothering to turn around she simply ignored it as she had read his file and knew about 'the creator' he spoke to. When they arrived at the hallway with all the bedrooms she went over to the room which was placed just next to her own room. "Here is your room." She pointed at the door in front of them and then turned to her own room "This is my room. There is a door inside the two rooms connecting the two which you are not able to lock, only I am as the keys for these doors are only given to the assigned bodyguards." She then looked at him again before asking "Any questions?"

@YoungX

Django looked at his room door and L's room door, and thought about how nice the rooms must be. He then looked back to L and said, "Nope. It's all dapper with me," he said as just stood there waiting for the room door to be unlocked. "Thank you ma'am for this opportune time," he said as he then began to say to me, "I'm hoping Enter won't be jealous and all," he giggled a bit as he talked to me while I was typing.

@JessieCarrie

L unlocked his door and before he went inside she quickly said "Also if you need to go anywhere notify me so I can escort you." Then she quickly added the last part that she wish she didn't have to say "Going to the restroom also counts." She then turned around and went into her own room.

@YoungX

Quinton had zoned out from the waiting, thinking about her past life while staring beyond to the doorway before the bodyguard came in. Twice her tongue clicked as if to speak to herself, stopping at the sound of foot steps approaching her door way. As soon as movement caught her eye, she blinked a couple times and left a bright smile plastered on her face in display. "Oh, hello, Ma-" While she spoke she gazed upon the height of the German woman, noticing that she was much taller than expected. A signal of nervousness pinged in her hazel eyes as the pupil's shrank to a slightly noticeable size, her reptilian features in them showing as pointed ovals, rather than the usual round pupil. She coughed slightly to catch herself, trying to cover up her nervousness by continuing to speak. "-Madame. You are correct, I've heard about it through other conversations, come on in." Slowly she got up from the bed, taking two steps forward to greet her new guardian. "Alphonsine is your name, correct?" Quinton raised her hand to shake the bodyguard's hand, shaking slightly of fear.

It had been quite tedious to have this fear, but she couldn't control it. It had only been a few years since her escape from the terror of her cage, and the men always towered over the small dragon.

While she awaited for the introductory hand shake, she brushed a strand her blue hair out of her face and behind her ear with a free hand, which was placed messily in a low bun to keep out of her face.

Django whistled at bit at the last part and said, "Well thank you for the important tidbits. I'll definitely keep it in mind," he said as he twirled his way into his room. It was a pretty nice room; it had plenty of space, a great bed, and thats all he really cares out. "So every time I need to go take a dump, I need her to escort me eh? Whoop," he said to me as I keep on typing without a care.

Al smiled, taking a step in and gently shaking Quinton's outstretched hand. She could already hear L introducing herself in her usual manner to the new tenant. The Jabberwocky made a point to find a seat in Quinton's room, so as to lower her profile and not be nearly as intimidating.

"Ja, but you may kall me Al. Ve haven't tokked much vile you've been here."

Al had spent the previous year without a tenant, instead playing the role of bouncer and assisting the others as needed while also handling most of the paperwork and litigation of the complex. She folded her hands, again keeping a her sweetest smile going. It wasn't too hard, Al was a genuinely happy person after all.

"I know you are avare of vut my...my...err..."

Responsibilities. What was responsibilities in English...

"...vut my position means. But for sake of simple, I vill go ofer. I am your escort for whenever you vish to leave ze complex. Vile I von't restrict your moving, please remember zat if a situation rises, you should lizzen to me as best as possible, ja? Due to my...shape...it can be difficult for me to keep track of you if zings get...excited."

The last thing the German wanted was to have to transform. If people thought she was tall as a human, seeing her full form, perfectly capable of sideswiping a truck off a road, would bring conniptions. Al folded her legs, the smile dropping for a moment.

"I am sorry about Horus. He vas an skilled fighter, und a friend. Ve are still looking into how zose men knew vere to find you two. If you ever need ze talk, I am happy to lizzen."

@FlameintheRoses

L felt really annoyed that she had to be like dog from now on and do basically whatever he said and follow him everywhere, though luckily it was only going to be like this for a week and then she only had to escort him around when he went outside the Lucky Willows boundaries. As soon as she stepped into her room she turned on her music again and sat down on her bed whilst closing her eyes concentrating on the music. Next time she saw Al she would be sure to complain and pretend like she was angry at her.

Django decided to lay on his bed and juggle his steel balls as he was lying down. There was a smug grin on his face, revealing his gold tooth as he also moved his legs up and down. "Hehehe... I'm juggling my balls," he said with an inappropriate accent similar to that of a certain old cartoon. "In case they don't know tell them it's a Beavis and Butthead reference," he whispered to me so that he wouldn't distract L. He then thought about L for a bit. "Well she is quite good-looking, buuuuut I can't just betray my Enter can I? Of course he'll probably kill her if I put the moves on her," he thought to himself.

Quinton lightly placed her arm to her side, keeping her smile while watching Alphonsine go to sit down, finding a seat near her closet, which still laid open. Even though her gold was hidden behind one of the sliding doors, she felt nervous that the bodyguard would find out too soon about her obsession over gold. For a moment her eyes shifted to the closet, then back to Al, listening to her while she spoke."Indeed... I don't believe I've talked with many creatures here." While she spoke, she slowly walked over to her closet and sliding the second door closed inconspicuously. Then she turned back around on her heel and walked over to her bed, continuously listening to the woman while she sat herself down on her bed, hanging her feet off of the edge. Every now and then she nodded her head, listening intently while Al tried to place her words in her clearly foreign language."I shall follow your lead, Madame, in time of need." Quinton lifted her stoic expression while she paid an attentive ear to the guard to a smile, which slowly faded when she mentioned Horus, her previous guard. "Ah, yes... he was..." She paused for a moment, thinking about the incident one last time. Her head turned to the side while she looked at the room that withheld Horus previously, a saddened expression on her face. It was my fault. Before she zoned out again she vaguely shook her head before looking back at Al with a smile. "Thank you, Al." A beat took place before she continued, her voice sounding as if she forgot to say this beforehand. "Oh, uhm, before you prepare your room... I must warn you, I have quite a uhm... habit... at night. I do apologize for anything beforehand."

@Spawnling

L was still just sitting on her bed trying to concentrate on the music although for some reason it didn't work as well today. Thoughts about who she was before kept popping up and annoying her. She wanted to know but she knew from experience that the only thing these thoughts would result in was giving her a headache. She wondered if Al was done with introducing her to her new tenant as she was in desperate need of having a battle partner right now to distract her. L stood up from her bed and began pacing back and forth not knowing how to make the thoughts go away.

Al tilted her head, blue eyes watching calmly.

"Habit? Like...sleep valking? Sleep talking? It's okay. I snore."

Al already had extensive files on all the tenants, as liason. She had access to Horus' old notes and files as well. She had skimmed them, though the Anubite's actual reports were rather skimpy on information about the dragon. Apparently Quinton was a very secretive type, even with Horus. The Jabberwocky tilted her head as she waited for an answer. She still had to meet Django as well, and make sure L wasn't currently in the process of forcing the half-demon's face through a wall...

Django, feeling a bit bored, decided to look through his things to make sure everything was in place. Since they moved it for him, anything could've happened, so he went rummaging through. "You know... I really didn't pack much. Maybe I should've brought some tequila!" He said to me as I was typing. After rummaging through he decided to read some Shonen Jump manga that he brought on over to pass the time. "Now let's see... they better have Hiatus X Hiatus up. Hehe." He giggled a bit inside.
