Realistic or Modern ☀️ The Great Summer Escape ☀️

Skylar Anderson

Skylar nodded when the woman checked her off and quickly whipped her head around when she heard a squeal. Realizing that the sound had come from Garnet jumping on Leon's back, she started to take a step, but found herself frozen in her spot. Turning to her brother, Sky tipped her head towards the two. "Go on," she said simply and began to walk in that direction, though as she neared, she veered off and found a bench in complete solitude and sat down. Pulling her phone out of her pocket, she noticed the text message she had received from Aurora and quickly replied, confirming that she was, indeed, at the camp, though she didn't tell where. She wasn't sure what exactly was wrong, but she suddenly felt a bit uneasy, and it started when she noticed Leon's actions towards Garnet. Sure, Skylar knew she was completely jealous of the other girl, but she had decided not to say anything about it considering that he wasn't even hers to begin with.

Nathaniel Anderson

Nate heard the squeal as well, and it didn't take long for his eyes to fall on his best friend. Looking down at his sister as she spoke, he gave her a puzzling look, silently wondering what was wrong with her. "What's wr-" he got cut off by her abrupt departure and followed her to a bench with his eyes, deciding to question her about it later. Shrugging his shoulders, he lugged their bags over to the small group, wasting no time ruffling Leon's hair with a laugh. "Long time no see," he said simply as he crossed his arms over his chest, dropping the luggage at the same time. He nodded simply in acknowledgement to Garnet, but he decided not to say anything. Instead, he focused on catching up with the other male. "What's been going on?"

Garnet laughed when Leon was spinning her around trying to make her dizzy. I guess you could say it worked because she was in fact feeling dizzy. When Leon faced her to look at him she smiled guving him the biggest hug ever. "It's me!" She laughed again before looking into his eyes. "I missed you so much!" she told him as they both walked over to the others her hands inside her shorts pockets. "Hey guys, I'm pretty sure we're ready to not sit around the campfire with all the little kiddies and sing campfire songs Leon...and I have some great news...Alaric will be meeting us at the location later on today since he's like I'm too old for kiddie camps..." She rolled her eyes then looked at Skylar who was sitting on a bench far away from the others then smiled "Hey guys...I'll be right back..." She told the others and left completely ignoring the fact that Nathaniel gave her a nod greeting instead of a simple 'Hello' like a normal person would do. She walked over to the bench Skylar was sitting at and stood in front of her. "Mind if I join you?" She smiled as she continued standing hoping she said yes. She knew Skylar had a major crush on Leon but she just wanted to let her know that there was nothing going on between the both of them. Skylar was the jealous type and she turns real ugly when she's jealous.

Gus Beecher

The Jester

Gus kept his elbows tucked with his water guns raised next to his face – Mission Impossible style. He surveyed the space beyond the wooden deck of the reception building. There were young children with colorful backpacks, rough-housing pre-teens and a few mingling parents who were helping their kids find their cabins. But the campers who sprayed him on the head? Nowhere to be seen. Gus’s targets were clearly skilled in the art of concealment. All the more reason to keep his guard up: they could be anywhere.

Slowly, he descended the lodge steps and wove between the people on the dirt path. Parent. Parent. Camper. Counselor. Where were those runts? A high-pitched scream rang out behind him. He spun around and saw a lone boy by the doorway of the cabin, shooting stream after stream of water at Briar Rose. As soon as the plastic water gun Gus had lent her clattered to the deck, the boy whizzed off into the woods. Briar Rose, on the other hand, stalked off in her heels toward the lake. For a moment, Gus considered calling after her. But really, what could he do? Apologize that she got wet in a water fight? Instead, he silently watched her walk away. It wasn’t the first time he’d been left by a girl.

So he shrugged and went back to the game. He only made it another few steps before his phone buzzed, accompanied by the Twilight Zone theme song. In quick succession, the show’s distinct
doo doo doo doo melody played a few more times from his pocket. His phone would have to wait, however. His targets were in sight. As was someone else he was pleasantly surprised to see.

“Hey, Jabster!” Gus called out with a broad smile and a wave. He only had a handful of male friends at camp. Jabari Mensah was not one of these friends – not that the two were enemies – but that never stopped Gus from approaching him before. He made a beeline for Jaba (whose clothes made him look more like one of the parents than the campers) and clapped him on the shoulder when he was close enough. “Jabmeister. Jabbers, Jabalaya, my man. How’s it hanging? You look – ” Gus paused to think of the right word: “ – starched.”

Just then, one of the kids hiding behind Jaba poked around his back and took aim, but Gus beat him to the draw. The boy yelped and jumped away. All at once, five leaky water pistols pointed directly at Gus. It was him, the boys, and Jaba in the middle. He looked over his shoulder. He didn’t see Zayn. Briar Rose already left. It appeared he was on his own.

“Just, wait…” Gus said. He slowly took a few steps back, but he didn’t get far. All five boys charged, nearly knocking into Jaba as they ran past him, and let loose five jets of water at point blank range. They hit Gus square in the face, chest and stomach. He didn’t even flinch. Just stood there and took the fire. When the boys had finished their attack, they ran away shouting in victory. Gus shook his head to get the water off his face. That could have gone better. He was about to say so when his phone buzzed again. Doo doo doo doo…

There were at last four notifications he’d missed. Now that the water fight was over (in record time, too), he pulled his phone out to see who’d been texting him.

Gus frowned at his phone, then looked up at Jaba and frowned at him. He hadn’t known Jaba was invited, but now that he did he was going to make it his personal mission to make sure he didn’t bail. These things had a way of snowballing into a storm of flakiness – it only took one person’s uncertainty to cast doubt on the whole group. And Gus didn’t want any doubt about this trip. It was going to happen. Period.

“Dude, you have to come with us. This is our last summer together. I mean, wouldn’t you rather spend the next six weeks in paradise with me, Cass, Rory, Sky...” – he scrolled through the group message, but didn’t have any of the other numbers in his contacts list – “and whoever all these other people are than slum it here with the trigger-happy twelve-year-olds? I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love it here. Camp Greenhouse is my second home. But, Jabs, this is Hawaii we’re talking about. Are you really going to pass that up?”

He stared expectantly at Jaba, his thick eyebrows raised and questioning. Then shot back a few texts of his own.

After he’d sent off his message, he looked up at Jaba once again.
“Seriously, man. You should come. It’ll be fun.”

Jaba stood in agitated silence as Gus walked up to him. He hardly cracked a smile at any of the new nicknames that were given to him and flinched a little when Gus clapped on his shoulder. He didn't know how to respond to someone like Gus; he was different. And Jaba's met a lot of different kinds of people in his life. The two were so different that they could be from different planets. One was outgoing and funny and the other one was serious and confident. "Hmm" was his only response until the water gun fight.

The kids behind Jaba's back started to shoot at Gus, apparently forgetting who was right in front of them just moments earlier. They all charged forward, knocking Jaba to the ground and almost face-planting himself. "Merde (Shit)!" It took him a few moments to realize what was going on until he felt wet. Some of the water got on his back and in his hair. This really wasn't his day.

He listened to Gus's begging as he got back to his feet and tried to shake and wipe the dust and water off his body. "Look, it's not that I don't want to go: I just don't want to get caught. You can't imagine what my parents would do to me if this plan fails," His body shivered in agreement. "And I wish I wouldn't have to know what will happen to me even though I do." He couldn't take his parents anger: they would be on him like white on rice in a glass of milk in a paper plate in a snowstorm. They probably wouldn't even let him out of their sights ever again. "They're crazy, August. I love them to death, but sometimes they can go too far. Especially with punishments." He paused for a second to think. He also started fiddling with his hands nervously. "I don't know what I want to do." His voice signaled a 'cry for help' with his last remarks.

Jaba could feel the phone vibrate. It's probably Aurora, he thought. She's gonna tell me what he's saying to me right now. He didn't want to reply right now. He stood with a pleading look on his face and fear in his eyes and waited for Gus. All the time he did, he was still debating on what he would do and his uneasiness grew stronger as he did.

Everest Holly Armstrong

Everest ignored the camp director after arriving there and having far more important matters at hand, one of those matters being catching up with her friends. Cassidy had been the first one she spotted and quite happily walked over to be beside the girl. Joining her and being greeted with an enthusiastic shout, Everest clapped her hands onto her hips and gave a small bow of sorts. "At your service." She smirked then opened her mouth to ask how the girl had been just when their other bestie appeared. Looking over her shoulder, Eve's smirk grows more bold whilst taking in the sight. "Why hello there." Eve turned toward her while noticing Indira as well and shooting the other girl a smile. "Hey Indie." Glancing back to Cassidy then to the newer arrivals Everest feels better already. "Ready to cause hell this year??" Her eyes looked from person to person expectantly and unable to conceal her excitement for this adventure. She couldn't wait much longer.

Indie nearly ran out of the cabin, the Little Indies swarmed her as soon and she walked in, talking about how their parents still didn't understand them. The only good thing was they got her a gift, a ship captains hat that was now perched on her hot pink braids. Skipping away from the cabin, Indira felt the vibration of her phone and grabbed it, eagerly scrolling through texts while walking. The actress couldn't wait for the amount of attention escaping could get them because of one of her favorite qoutes. Smiling softly, Indie said under her breath, " Well behaved women never make history, Marylin Monroe".

WASSSUPP ?!?! After one damn hour of Lizzie McGuire songs, I am in alive and at camp.

Soon after, Indie caught up with Cassidy, Rose and Everest. Clapping her hands happily, Indira grinned. " None of you have been disfigured ! This is awesome". A bright blue eye winked over dramatically at Everest, Indira's ex girlfriend but the two were still on good terms. " Hey yourself, peach".

Avalon grabbed her Nike duffle bag and mint green suitcase from the trunk of her mother's Mercedes convertible and ran toward the front of camp. Avalon, along with her brother Jay, was super late to camp, and it was all because she took forever to get ready. She came home later than usual from her morning run, took an extended shower, and took about forever deciding what outfit she was going to wear. She wanted something flirty and cute to come in handy if she bumped into her crush. The time she took was all worth it since she eventually found an outfit that fit her nicely. A mint green crop top and a pair of ripped, dark washed high waisted shorts showed a bit of her sunkissed skin. The outfit was not calling for attention or showing so much skin that it was slutty. It fit her, and she loved it.

Avalon ran through the gates leaving her brother behind. "Avalon Highland, eighteen" she said between pants. The counselor quickly checked her off giving her the okay to enter.

After getting settled inside cabin 8, Avalon decided to go meet some of her friends. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and quickly responded to Aurora's text. The dirty blonde rolled her eyes seeing Jaba's text, and she quickly stuffed her phone back into her pocket.

Avalon found two of her good friends, Sky and Garnet, over by a bench. She approached them giving each a hug before sliding in next to them. "Hey guys, whats up?" she asked with a smile. She glanced over at Nathaniel, her crush, and turned back to her friends blushing, hoping she didn't look stupid.

Jay rolled his hazel eyes seeing his twin sister dash toward camp. Avalon didn't seem too rushed when she was getting ready, and all the sudden, she realize she's late and sprints toward the door. Jay is a pretty chill guy who didn't make a really big deal about anything, but he was really pissed at his sister for making them so late. He threw a tank top over himself before trudging over to the gates with his luggage and surfboard under his arm..

"Jay Hyland," he said to the counselor, "Eighteen." He waited for the okay to go in before getting his his cabin assignment.

Jay quickly dropped off his luggage and surfboard at the cabin before walking outside to find some of his friends. He stopped outside to respond to Aurora, and continued on his way to the lake.

The Crew

I just got here. It was all Ava's fault we were late^^^^ I'm so stoked for tonight.

After making his way to the lake, he spotted his best friend Olivia and Rose, a friend of his. "Hey Rose!" he called to his friend as he sat down next to Olivia on the dock. "Hey," he said to his friend with a smile. He smiled at the children around her, "Wassup guys?"

Cass smiled as Indira joined them along with Nathaniel. She gave Nate a nod before returning her attention to the girls before her. When Indira showed up, she gave the girl a smile. "No, we're not disfigured. Or at least, I'm not," she said with a laugh. Her phone buzzed and she quickly read the texts before responding.

You didn't see her because she's so short.

Cassidy turned to her brother as he snickered at his text. He was always making fun of her. She shot him a glare and he shrugged with a playful grin that seemed to say '
Well it's true'. With a roll of her eyes, she put her phone away and talked animatedly with the people around her. When Garnet mentioned her brother, she grinned. "Too cool to come suffer at camp, but not too cool to go to Hawaii?" she said with a shared roll of her best friend's eyes.

Leon couldn't help himself. It was a perfect opportunity. Gus set the joke up perfectly for him, whether or not her knew it. Still chuckling a bit, he turned to Nathaniel with a grin. "Not much. Ready to get out of this camp." He ran a hand through his hair as he looked around. "Cass and I got tattoos," he said as he lifted his right shirt sleeve. The small tattoo was in their mother's writing which said "I (<3) Mom". He gave a small chuckle as he explained it. "When Cassidy and I asked if we could get tattoos when we were like 16, our mom said the only way we were getting tattoos was if one, we paid for them ourselves, and two, if it said 'I heart Mom'. She wrote it on our arms and so we decided we would do that. I have mine on the outside, but Cass has hers on the inside of her arm". Leon gave a shrug. "I dunno, we thought it'd be cool. We made Mom cry, though I'm not sure it's because of the gesture or because we got a tattoo, period". He gave his friend a smile before gesturing to him. "But what about you? Any new additions?" he joked.

Garnet waited too long for Skylar to answer and her feet were killing her so she just sat down next to the girl. Just as she was about to speak their real good friend Avalon walked over and slid next to them on the bench and asked them what was going on. Garnet saw her take a glance at Nathaniel and rolled her eyes. "Oh look here little miss flirt stop drooling over Nat before he sees you and second of all I think our precious Sky might think I have a thing for Leon...when I don't..." She chuckled crossing her arms and her legs as well as she looked at Ava. "Ever since my last break up it may be a while before I get back into a relationship but then again whatever happens happens..." She shrugged her shoulders "Also Skylar...I know that you have feelings for Leon and what just happened a few minutes ago between him and I was strictly friendship...I've known him longer than you and the others except for Cass and my brother...I don't have any romantic feelings for him at all period." She said "I only look at him as my childhood friend and he's like a brother to me..." She then smiled and placed a hand on her knee "Besides...it would be real awkward if he and I went out..."

She then looked over and saw Jay chatting with Rose and Olivia then looked at Ava. "So Ava...from the looks of you still eye raping Nat from afar I have an assumption that you will need our help trying to snag him up before one of the other girls do...is that correct?" She smirked looking at the flirt.

Briar looked over the lake until someone who she thought was perfect for her. He was a total surfer tumblr boy which was so her aethstetic. She frowned a little, he was talking to two other girls but she wasn't going to let that stop her. She made her way down the "beach" and over to the group.

"Hi! Sorry to interupt, I was just wondering if you were apart of the uh... summer escape. Im Briar by the way. Im new." she smiled tossing her blonde hair and smiling at Jay then looking at the other two girls.

She looked the first girl up and down and narrowed her eyes for a second. Rose was very beautiful but she looked like a complete bitch. She did not have good vibes at all, Briar and her would not be getting along.

The other girl was cute and she had really nice vibes.

"What are your guy's names?" she asked politely. However she felt really over dressed, the other people here did not look as good as her.

"Am I like really over dressed?" she kicked off her heels and was a little shorter now.

She looked at Jay again and smiled. He was really really really cute.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket as she took it out.

She was included in a group chat and she had no idea who any of the numbers were except Auroras and Honeys.

'Honey and I are here' she typed back.

tumblr_mtjhidzi8e1suw7kfo1_500.jpg

Honey listened for a second before dropping the luggage and running away. Honey scrambled over to the water gun picking it up and shooting some kid in the face.

"Im gonna kill you suckers." he growled running past Gus shooting kids in the eyes and face. His gun finally ran out of water as he hit another kid with the end of the gun and kicking another to the ground.

"HAHA WE WIN!" he screeched running over to Gus and hugging his waist.

"This is soo much fun!" Honey said giggling and running away to the beach. He sat at the edge of the water and closed his eyes listening to the waves.

Olivia looked up confused as the group of girls surrounding her began giggling and whispering to one another. Olivia raised an eyebrow at the giddy little girls before seeing her best friend Jay sit down beside her on the dock. Liv's confused frown immediately changed shape into a big smile and her heart started beating just a little faster as she saw her friend's familiar face. "Jay!" The girl spoke excitedly. He looked good, better than Olivia would admit, and she had honestly missed him. Olivia gestured at the surrounding kids as a response to Jay's 'wassup'. "Oh you know just the usual, being mermaids and making shell bracelets." Ollie spoke casually as she lifted up her finished bracelet. Olivia couldn't manage to make the smile disappear from her face. Just as soon as Jay had sat down it seemed, the girls were all over him. A little pang of jealously sparked inside of Liv as another pretty blonde girl introduced herself. Liv nodded slightly as the girl introduced herself and asked about the escape and who everyone was. "It's nice to meet you, I'm Olivia, or Liv, or Ollie. Whatever you want to call me is really fine." Olivia added the last part with a laid back shrug and smile. She watched as the girl kept looking and smiling at Jay.

By now Liv should really be used to watching how girls look at her best friend, but she wasn't. Olivia looked away, fixing her gaze instead on the little girls sitting on the dock. Olivia was a pro at hiding her feelings, no one, except maybe Jay sometimes, knew her well enough to read what she is really feeling and thinking. And now she would have to become even better at her art. Though Olivia didn't exactly know when or where, somewhere along the way Liv had managed to pick up feelings for Jay, and she didn't know what to do about it. Jay was her best friend, and there would be no way that she would ruin that friendship over a stupid crush.

"How are you doing?"

It was a honestly a simple question. Sebastian could have easily answered it but he didn't know the words to describe what he felt at the moment. Maybe it was because the most beautiful girl stood before him, a girl he shared great memories with, or maybe it was a girl that brought him great pain, someone he wasn't good for. He felt his chest constrict, as if a snake had wrapped itself around his heart and sank its poisonous fangs into it.

"Fine. I guess." He finally replied, sounding a bit uncaring. Sebastian winced internally and scratched the back of his head to play that off. He had developed the habit of sounding rude and his personality began to mold with that habit. Although he'd been like that for so long he never payed any mind but around Aurora, he always tried to be nicer and his rudeness felt as obvious as people's hatred for him when she was there.

"What about you?" Sebastian directed the question to her. He tried his best to avoid eye contact with her because he was sure if he stared too long, all the years they spent together would pour out. A year of trying to heal turning into a failure.

Friend after friend began appearing, making Rose grin. These were the people she was going to spend the rest of her summer with and not at camp. A new face did walk up to the group, making Rose raise an eyebrow. She crossed her arms slightly when the busty blonde gave her a look. Clearly, they weren't going to get along well.

"What are your guy's names?" Briar asked, making Rose sigh. She sounded fake in the brunette's opinion. Fake and spoiled.

Rose waited for everyone introduce themselves before she said as simply, and nicely, as she could, "Rose." She didn't bother stated her actual name ad even if she had planned to associate herself with the girl, Rose never told people her first name. They just happened to find out because of her idiot friend, Bash.

Avalon rolled her baby blue eyes in annoyance, but she couldn't help but smile. "Okay, Garnet, what I just did there was not eye raping" she stated firmly crossing her arms. "And fyi, eye raping is totally different. It's that perverted look middle school guys give you when they walk past you. They think they look so damn slick and definitely have a chance when they 'eye rape' you," the dirty blonde said grimacing. "And no Garnet, I do not need any help fetching Nat up for now, and if he does happen to look over, I can always pull a trick down from my sleeves," she said with a wink. The truth was, Avalon didn't really feel the need to talk about her own love life at the moment. Sure, Nathaniel was cute and all, but she wasn't quite ready to move on yet. She felt like such a bitch when she broke up with Valen, and she honestly needed to make it up to him. He was probably already at camp somewhere hiding from her. She wished she could hide from him too, but it wold just make apologizing harder. She wasn't exactly over him either. She still has a few feelings lingering around.

"How 'bout we talk about
your love life, instead of mine," Avalon said directing the topic onto Garnet, a smirk creeping onto her face. "I think we should start by talking strategy..." she said glancing at Jay and the few girls around him at the lake. She would've never guessed that 2 girls were already after her brother. To Avalon, her brother was completely unattractive. She'd never understand why anyone would ever crush on her brother, but she did think Garnet and Jay would make a cute couple.

Jay chuckled and wrapped his arm around Olivia's shoulders. "Mermaids and shell bracelets? Cute. Could you make me one?" he joked. His affection was completely friendly. He was always oblivious to any girls chasing him. He'd never think his best friend would crush on him, ever. Jay laughed kicking his legs into the water, playfully splashing Liv. "Oops," he lied, trying not to smile before turning his attention toward the pretty blonde who had acknowledged him. "'Sup Briar, I'm Jay," he said flashing his pearly whites. He didn't answer her question about the "Summer Escape" because they weren't really supposed to talk about it, but he
did give her a wink that hinted that he knew all about it. He stayed out of drama, and ignored the strange exchange between the new girl and his friend. "Uh... how 'bout you sit down with us?" he asked Briar not sure how to respond to her asking if she was over dressed or not. He patted the seat next to him on the dock.

"'Sup Briar, I'm Jay,"

"Rose."

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Olivia, or Liv, or Ollie. Whatever you want to call me is really fine."

"Its nice to meet all you guys."

She was getting a bad vibe from Rose, but she figured that she would be a bitch. Olivia seemed pretty nice, and Jay was perfect. She looked down when Jay and blushed a little as Jay flashed his gorgeous teeth.

Our children would have THE BEST genetics in the whole world. she thought to herself smiling softly. Then he had to go and wink at her. Her heart almost exploded. She giggled tossing her long blonde hair.

"Uh... how 'bout you sit down with us?"

"I would love too." she said smiling sitting down next to Jay.

"So... What were you guys talking about? I think I heard something about mermaids? Oliva you seem like a mermaid... you're gorgeous and I can tell you love the ocean. Rose you seem like a pixie! Maybe a little sarcastic but you're good somewhere. An Jay... You seem like a handsome prince." she said playfully, laughing a little.

"This is my first year at camp so I really need some friends... why dont you guys tell me more about yourselves...?" she said softly looking at Ollie, then looking at Jay and smiling.

Olivia's heart pounded as the familiar weight of her best friend's arm rested over her shoulders. The girl laughed at his comment about the bracelets. "I'm way ahead of you." Olivia teased as she dangled the almost finished shell knotted bracelet in front of Jay's nose, a cheesy smile plastered on her face. Ollie began putting her head down to work as the other girl, Rose was her name if Liv had heard right, sat down to join them and began talking. Liv could tell this girl had a case of the Jays, between the blush, the hair toss, and the giggle, Liv had seen it enough times to know this girl had it bad. Rose seemed friendly and sweet enough though, so besides the flirting, Liv was enjoying her presence. Liv joking glared at Jay as he splashed her, sending telepathic messages of "Two can play that game." Olivia kicked her own spray of water sending a direct hit towards Jay. At Rose's comment about Ollie seeming like a mermaid, she looked up, smiled happily, and laughed as the other girl continued on her descriptions. Upon hearing the comparison of Jay to a prince Liv's jaw tensed as she tried to look busy by tying the finishing knot of the bracelet. And I suppose you see yourself as the princess? Liv thought only to herself. "There, finished!" Ollie said proudly as she grabbed Jay's wrist, not allowing him a choice of to wear it or not. She quickly tied the ends together and turned to look her friend in the eye. "Friendship bracelets, boom." Olivia's sound affect matched up with her throwing her arm out next to Jay's to compare the matching bracelets. She smiled happily before turning her attention back on Rose as she spoke of being new and needing friends. She also asked to know more about them. Ollie spoke quietly yet happily, "Well welcome! You picked a good year to come." Ollie grinned mischievously and shrugged, "There's not really too much about me, I'm not that interesting. I just like the water and food..." Olivia paused, as if she was thinking hard, "Yep that's about all there is to me."

Jabari walked through the camp to try to find a quiet spot so he could think. He still wasn't sure what he should do. He couldn't believe how torn he was at this trip. Well, he didn't have much time yet and he had make up his mind. Maybe I should ask someone for advice, he thought. He quickly hurried towards the docks to see if a friend was there. Getting closer, he could see Briar standing with some other people. "Hey! Briar, it's me, J-Jaba!" He walked a little faster until he stopped a few feet from the group. "I haven't seen you in a long time." He took a step closer and addressed the group. "I'm Jabari, but you can call me Jaba. It is nice to meet all of you formally." He gave a nod and stepped back to give the group some time to respond.

"Ey thanks.." Jay said to Liv admiring his bracelet. He lifted his arm up looking over all the intricate knots. He then turned his attention back towards the new girl who had described him as "a handsome prince." "Thanks, but I'd like to see myself as the mermaid," he joked slipping off his tank top. Jay dove into the greenish lake and bobbed back up a few seconds later. "See? I'm a human mermaid. I think Liv fits the role of the sea monster better. Don't ya' think?" he teased chuckling. He brought his arms up to the dock and rested it there. "Anyway, a little more 'bout me. I like surfing, in & out, Malibu, surfing, basketball, football, surfing, skating, and surfing," he said to Briar pretty much making it clear that surfing was his life. He saw a familiar face walking down the dock towards the three of them. It was quite a surprise that Jaba's known Briar since it was her first year here. He didn't exactly know him either, but Jaba's been known as the buzzkill. Jay wasn't sure how Jaba got invited on this trip since he probably had no guts sneaking out. He also didn't exactly trust him on the secret. Who knows? Maybe he'll ruin the whole thing and tell a camp counselor. Jay tried to put that beside him since he wanted to be a nice guy. "Hey Jaba, I'm Jay.. if you didn't know," Jay said with a genuine smile.

"Well welcome! You picked a good year to come. There's not really too much about me, I'm not that interesting. I just like the water and food...Yep that's about all there is to me."

"Aww! Well that's fine. Simple is good." she said smiling at Liv. Then she heard some one saying her name.

"Hey! Briar, it's me, J-Jaba!"

"Jaba? I don't know you... Sorry!" she said softly.

"Thanks, but I'd like to see myself as the mermaid, See? I'm a human mermaid. I think Liv fits the role of the sea monster better. Don't ya' think? Anyway, a little more 'bout me. I like surfing, in & out, Malibu, surfing, basketball, football, surfing, skating, and surfing,"

"You mean merman? I guess I could see that. What about the Prince of the Sea? Surfer? That's so cool. Maybe you could teach me how..." she said smiling a little.

"You know I think I might join you." Briar stood up and took off her skirt and crop top. She stood there for a minute in her pink lingerie and jumped in the water. She giggled splashing Jay a little.

Briar looked at Rose and her judgmental look. Briar didn't care she was having fun. Briar wrapped her legs around Jay's waist and put her arms lightly around his neck.

"I think I caught a merman." she said giggling a little.

Olivia looked at Jay longingly as he slipped off his shirt and dove into the murky water. She herself had thoughts to join her best friend until the new girl decided to beat her to it, not hesitating at all at showing off her matching underclothes. Creasing an eyebrow Ollie looked down shyly, trying to look busy examining her knotted shell bracelet. A quick glimpse up and it appeared that Briar was now attaching herself to Liv's unknown crush. Olivia felt a squeeze in her chest and a burning in the back of her eyes. This was supposed to be Liv and Jay's summer. This was supposed to be the time that Liv could finally tell him how she felt. But this new girl, with her golden locks and confidence was sweeping in and taking over. Hearing someone else approach Liv looked up, obviously flustered and frustrated, to see Jaba coming down the dock. He had always been seen as the "Killjoy" but Liv was never one to ignore or be purposefully mean to someone, let alone someone she didn't even know all that well. She offered a smile and a small wave keeping her silence.
