The Great Magi's Misadventures

Tayleen shook her head and kept picking at the food. She didn't care about "her strength" right then. She put the plate down and stared off into space.

"Very well, then," Finnas said as he got up and put the plate in his bag. He then walked over to the tent and used magic to collapse it so that he could put it into his infinity bag as well. He then extinguished the fire and grabbed his staff. "Alright, lets go."

Tayleen stood and picked up her bag. She followed after him, watching where she was going, but not looking up.

Finnas started to whistle a song he was taught when he was younger as he walked along. He didn't really have anything to say to Tayleen.

Tayleen kept walking, her thoughts blocking out any sound whatsoever. She was silent.

"Fine then. I'll just leave you out here in the wilderness," Finnas said sarcastically, dropping his staff and letting it hover above the ground.

"Fine" she said with a shrug. She looked at the ground. " Maybe those bandits could finish the job and..." she mumbled. She sighed and looked around.

"No, I'd rather have died when my parents had," she said. She sighed and looked at the ground.

Tayleen growled. "You try living a life where you watched your parents die in front of your eyes! Why don't you try watching a bandit slit your mother's throat and there's nothing you could have done! All I have ever done is to follow my father's last words! You think I really want to die? No! I want to find the bandits who killed my parents! If I die when I do, then so be it!" She said, tears running down her face. She turned away and walked off.

Tayleen rolled her eyes and kept walking, the opposite direction of Ivalice. She didn't want to deal with anyone or anything.

"So? Find someone else then," Tayleen said. She looked at the woods and thought. She stopped walking and stared at something that had caught her eye.

Finnas summoned a Familiar, which is a sort of fairy of sorts, and told it to watch over Tayleen. It nodded in reply as it turned invisible, floating over to Tayleen and followed her.

Tayleen didn't notice anything as she started to walk towards an old cottage. She looked at the cottage for a moment, then shook her head and turned away from it. She didn't like the vibe the cottage gave off. She shuddered and walked away from the cottage.

Tayleen looked at the tendrils before they pulled her into the cottage. Her eyes widened and she clawed as best as she could at the tendrils, she soon found it to be useless. A strangled cry escaped her lips and tears ran down her face. She closed her eyes, thinking her only escape was not to escape. She then remembered her bag and the stone. Instead of fighting to save her own life, she struggled to throw the bag out of the cottage. As soon as she had succeeded at that, she looked around the cottage, still within the tendrils reach, and tried to one thing she did best... talk.

Panicked, the Familiar flew back to Finnas, which gave him the information about the shack. "Shack...?" Finnas said, looking behind him.

"You have something we need," The darkness told telepathically to Tayleen as it used tendrils to suspend her in mid-air by her limbs.
