Fantasy [The Great Escape]

Aida looked to Gilles, interested in his power. He seemed to be ashamed of it, but she always thought that everyone had an interesting power, and everyone had something about it that they couldn't control. "No power here is la-" Her voice was cut off by the sound of a girl shouting, giving everyone hope. Then the tech girl helped her through the place where the food came down from, and the girl disappeared into the unknown section of this building. She could be right, we could escape here.. today. The sides of her lips tugged into a smile at the thought. "Gilles... We should think of something.. Anything to help that girl and the others escape. Can you see any weak spots?" Her voice turned from quiet and kind, to upbeat and joyful. They could escape today, and if not they would die trying. She feared the thought of dying, but only thought of freedom at this moment. Freedom. Even the word was amazing to hear.

Aida's light green pupils searched around the room, looking for any weak spots in the area. She couldn't think of anything, as all the walls were reinforced with metal. Then, she thought of something. Every place had air conditioning, and to keep the air clean you'd need... Vents! Although.. some may not fit... But the others may find their way with the girl in red. Her thoughts cycled, her focus not so much as what was in front of her as it was her surroundings.

Gilles seemed to look around as Aida did, He was ashamed, with good reason. He was able to make feathers. Nothing cool happens with feathers unless they're a part of a predatory bird. He too was jarred by Reina and Anita's action, breaking him from the monotony of lunchtime. He tried to look at her, then away to where he assumed she was looking. He seemed to frown just a bit, knowing his power wouldn't be super useful at the moment. He didn't have any mind reading capacity, and thus didn't have any idea what she was up to. However, he was willing to atleast try. Gilles nodded at Aida, and pushed from his seat with his hands. "If you have something in mind, I can help you with it. I'm not particularly good on my own." He said, expecting her to take the lead. He shuddered a bit, in the back of his head knowing fully well that this could get him killed.

Aida looked up to Gilles as he stood, a smile spread from cheek to cheek. She pointed towards the vents, hoping that he would understand what she meant. "Vents, even though they are made with reinforced metal plates, still have an opening and an exit, possibly to the outside world. If not, we can fight our way through, I believe that we are strong enough." The palm of her left hand was clenched with her fingers as she made a fist, showing what little strength she had in her human form. "Although, if we do fight, my muscles in caracal form copy my human muscle, which is weaker than an average human's muscle... My muscles could be cut through very easily." She cringed at the thought, her eyes moving down to focus on her arm. If they did somehow make it out, she needed to focus on her strength, and press on with everything she had.

Soon she regained and cleared her mind, and smiled. She grabbed Gilles by the hand, and walked to the vent while holding his hand, not thinking about it even once. Her eyes then focused to him as she stopped near the vent. The vent was a foot higher than she could reach, so she would need to have assistance on climbing up. "Ready...?" Her voice was nervous, yet happy. She's never thought of escaping this hellish place, but now they had a chance to. They could finally leave this horrible place, and start a new, better life in the outside world.

Jett stood up from the table as one of the girls declared that they were going to escape. He didn't know what use his powers could be, but freedom sounded really good. He paused for a moment and thought about what he would do if he were free again. He certainly didn't want to go back to his parents, but he still couldn't live on his own. He shook his head and focused on escaping. The first girl to speak up had a really good idea, but it might take too long to get everyone up. The chances of guards being sent in to stop them was very high. He went over to the small group of people that had gathered around the platform. "What can I do to help?" He asked, just loud enough to be heard. Usually he wouldn't just walk up to someone and ask a question, but right now wasn't the best time to worry about that. He glanced at the doors and wondered if he could take them out with his pulse. Most of the tests had focused more on knocking out electrical power rather than physical items. Maybe he could at least disable the doors so the guards couldn't get in. He looked back at the two girls, wondering what their powers were. It didn't particularly matter, but it kept him from worrying about whether or not their escape attempt would work.

Rayne , sighing she agreed with Nia about not going home , but she hated this lab "If your escaping count me in , but actually plan it please." Self consciously she followed the others towards the Vents. "I will keep watch , I can tell if someones comming.". Curiously she stared at the others wondering what their powers where , she hoped they would all get out together. And not abandon eachother. Her powers were probably only good for keeping watch. "So do you even have a plan?". She eyed the door warily , trying to listen out for the guards and scientists , they would be comming soon for the first person to test then the rest of us.

Nia looked around, as if searching for something. Suddenly she smiled, already knowing what to do. I got it! First of all, can anyone short circuit this device on my ankle? She lifted her foot onto the bench to show a metal anklet with a blinking red light. With that gone, I can see if I can teleport with people. If I can, then I will start teleporting through the building to get outside. What do you all think?

Anita saw that other people were planning to go out the vents and turned her attention to them. "That might be a good idea... But you need to be careful. The might be able to cut off the air supply or something. And we can't just leave her alone." She glanced up at the ceiling, and wondered if enough time had passed, and if she was okay. "I think me and one other person should go up, at least."

Next, a girl Anita recognized as Nia spoke up. "No problem." She bent down and unlocked the device quickly. It clicked open and fell onto the floor, still blinking. Just teleport out of here, huh? Well, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. "I think that's a good idea, but it's kind of risky. They might have some kind of security against just teleporting out... It could work as a back up plan, though."

Gilles allowed himself to be led to the vent by Aida, offering minimal resistance. Once she stopped infront of the vent and indicated that she needed a boost up, Gilles felt like he knew what to do. He tried to shift his feet so as to be more stable, and at just below waist height he clasped his hands. He held them together with palms slightly raised, as if to cup Aida's foot if she accepted the boost up. He then looked at Aida expectantly, as if waiting for her to follow through on her plan. Maybe it'll all work out. We can all run free. "I'm in position. Go ahead and do what you were going to do." He said to her quietly, with a slight nod to indicate his agreement with the presumed plan. But. If I died due to the carelessness of a friend... I dunno. I guess I'd be okay with that.

Aida then looked to Anita, nodding as she spoke. "I'll take the risk." She then climbed up onto Gilles hand, positioning her feet so she could spring herself up. "Sorry if I whack you in the face with my tail, prepare." She then hopped into the air, morphing into her caracal form as she jumped up. The vent was closed off with metal bars, but her short claws could cut through them. It hurt for a moment as she reached the vent bars, clawing through it quickly before morphing back to human form. Her small body could fit through the gap she made. She crawled through the gap, being scratched by the metal bars. The pain of it stung, then ceased.

Once she was through, she turned around to the bars. It was time to kick them out. She reared up her legs, and with all her strength, kicked at the bars. Nothing. Then she kicked again, still nothing. One more try... With the third kick, the bars were sent flying into a wall behind Gilles, clattering to the floor. "Got it! I'm going to search for an exit, but I'll need your help, Gilles." She spoke at a normal tone, knowing that he would be able to hear her. Her head poked out from the vent, then came her arms, reaching down for him to grab. With his help, she could find another exit for the others to escape through. If there were two exits, the guards couldn't focus on just one. Most of them were strong enough for combat, and would be able to possibly fight their way out if they needed.

She waited for Gilles, hoping her arms would signal for him to climb up. Although, the thing that worried her was if he could fit, and if the vents' air conditioning would be left on until they found an escape. Finally... Hell could be ending, and the beginning of a new life is approaching.

Gilles nodded, after performing the task for Aida. He watched in amazement, as she managed to kick the bars out and away from him, despite her supposedly having lesser muscles than an average human. He reached up and accepted her hands in his, before making an effort to climb into the vent with her. He looked down and stared at his one upraised foot. A circle of black feathers seemed to form at the toe of his shoe, and he stretched his leg a bit to get his foot on the spot he made. Using that to boost himself up, he pulled himself into the vent, and let the neglected 8 or so feathers fall and litter the ground. He then looked down at Rayne, who had stood there and sworn to keep watch. He just barely heard Anita as well as Aida did, and nodded. "You'll be of more use to them than to us." He called to Rayne, given that he and Aida were already in the vent and thus relying on eachother. There's greater speed in lesser numbers, and plus that girl by the lift could use an extra set of hands. He thought, then looking back at Aida-- as if expecting her to take the lead.

Aida used most of her strength pulling him up to the vent. She placed her feet against the sides of the opening for support as she helped him up, holding her position until he got up. Her legs then swung from under her as she twisted to being on all fours in the vent, since it was only big enough for her to do so. She listened as Gilles spoke with another person, barely hearing the conversation. Once he turned around, she nodded. It was time for them to search.

The vent echoed in itself with the noise of hands and knees crawling on the tough metal as she moved, searching for any openings. There was one of many things she learned about this place while in her testing simulations, and that was that the vents were reinforced with metal to conceal the sound.

During her sessions of testing, she normally listened for practical noises in caracal form, and one of those was the vents. The air conditioning was at a low hum for two of the years that she was here. Although two years ago, that humming came to a stop, yet there was still air conditioning. Sound proof. Luck us. She looked around as she reviewed this discovery, being very quiet as she did though. Sudden movements and talking would cause them to be discovered, leading to possible death. Her movements were slowed down as she came to metal bars, a possible exit. She turned around to Gilles, motioning for him to stay put. Before approaching the metal bars, she morphed back into caracal form, then proceeded to look through it.

Damn. It was a lab, with test tubes, and of course scientists working on their.. science stuff. Aida really didn't know what they did, nor did she ever really care too much about it.

She backed away from the metal bars slowly, and morphed back into human form. Once she turned back to Gilles, she shook her head, signalling that it wasn't an exit. She then motioned with her hand to keep moving, and they needed to go backwards to find another place, this time to the right.

Here he was, trying to enjoy a crappy morning meal, when all of a sudden the unthinkable began.

There had been a lot of talk about rebelling, and about escape. However, no one had really followed through with any of the ideas that had been thrown around. Not until this moment, at least. The "experiments" had been too afraid of their captors, and what said creeps were capable of. Freedom had been an ongoing dream since day one, and it was finally at his fingertips. Sorry, their fingertips; Dakota wasn't the only one.

And he was far from complaining about it. Well... in more of a 'yay, no loneliness' kind of way. Not the 'hell yeah, mass suffering!' kind. He was strange, but he was not in that sort of way.

Not really sure how to fit into this entire mess, but wanting to get the fudge out, the redhead looked around in confusion. There was so much stuff going on, and he wasn't sure who to help out. Wait...there was a way he could help out, right? Dakota didn't want to just ride on these genius' coattails to victory. That would be freakin' rude and, not to mention, really goddamn embarrassing on his part. "Oh, hey. Sup? I'm just going to let you guys do all the work, and try to avoid punishment just in case this fails, while you all risk your lives and your already limited freedom for a gulp of fresh air. Sound like a plan? I really like that plan!'

Yeah... That wasn't going to happen.

Anita watched as Gilles and Aida went down the vent and looked towards the others."I'm going to go up now and see if there's a control panel. It's a bit tiring to do it remotely like this, and I want to conserve my energy."

She rested her hand on where the platform had disappeared into the wall. She found the path more quickly this time, but it was still somewhat draining to bring the platform down. She climbed onto the platform and raised it. She wasn't feeling burnt out yet - each time was just a tiny chip at her endurance - but she might have to do a lot later in a place like this.

Reina was still alive and in control, which was definitely good. She looked around at the burnt walls, then back at her. "I can see you didn't pull any punches. Let's hope you didn't destroy the control panel." She glanced around the room, and there, at the luckily unburnt part of the room, was what seemed to be a control panel. She sighed in relief and went over to it.

There was a keypad. But it's not like that's a problem. In fact, that might make it easier. It was simple to trace the way the electricity was set to respond and figure out what to press. This way I don't have to keep manually lowering it. She entered the key code and lowered the platform with a press of a button.

Gilles held position, and infact tried to make himself take up less space and make less noise, given that Aida was to be the eyes and ears of the operation. He didn't want to do anything stupid, so he just concentrated on the floor of the ventilation shaft to pad it and the walls with down-feathers to absorb physical pressure and sound to a slight degree, and allow them to communicate a bit. He then lowered his face into a wall and groaned into the now-padded wall, with the stress of concentrating on a number of wide radiuses taking it's toll. He shuddered with discomfort, and looked to Aida. His wall padding technique should make their communication easier, and slightly widen the margin of error.

He didn't dare move forth, given that he was physically lesser to the jungle cat and also less sturdy. For now, we should be able to talk and strategize. She probably has some idea of what to do, or atleast more than me. I didn't think we'd make it this far. He thought, starting to feel slightly relieved at how things were going.

Reina grinned, "Sup fucker," she said casually, making a salute, flames still burning in her hands, although she was visibly sweating. A savage grin was painted across her face, and her eyes almost.. glowed, a sort of strange light in them. "It's just so much fun..." she whispered, continuing to grin, as she could hear boots coming down the hallway. As they kicked down the door, a roaring flame leapt into the hall, charging like a tiger, the men beginning to scream as the beast devoured them. Reina lowered her hands, visibly twitching, sweat pouring off of her forehead. For a moment, she clenched her fists, extinguishing the flame. "Mind k-keeping them out for a bit? I might b-become a little unsavory if I keep using the flame," she stuttered, breathing rather heavily.
