The grate ex-cape

"I have no faults. I honestly didn't expect to get out of that without damage." he said. He stood and made his way into the bathroom, where he showered in everything he had on. He did not physically feel temperature, so a cold shower was fine for him.

~the cliff cave~

Zeta was off, deeper in the cave, avoiding everyone else. Scarlet was preening Emily's hair, neatening it in their boredom, and chip was sitting in front of shade.

Tucker blinked at Michael and then rolled his eyes before continuing to eat his celery. How lucky was Tucker in that he got stuck with the robot while the other escapees were with fellow mutants?

~Cliff Cave~

Shade was completely silent as he stood on the edge of the cliff, peering out through the rain. He had seen movement near the lighthouse and felt nervous. Was someone watching them? About to attack?

Chip picked up on his nerves. She stood and wandered over and placed a hand on his shoulder. "are you alright?" she asked, smiling to him.

Shade froze at Chip's physical contact, instantly swatting her hand away and taking a few steps to the side. He didn't glare at her angrily, but rather remained silent as he gave her a suspicious look, not entirely fond of being touched.

Chip retracted her hand. "s-sorry. I forgot you don't like touching." she said. "are you alright, though? You seem nervous. More than usual." she said. Emily watched the two silently.

Shade made no move, but said softly to Chip, "Someone's out there." He then slowly moved his head as he looked outside, hugging himself with his wings, which were literally attached to his arms and sides. It basically looked like he was hugging himself.

Chip followed his gaze to the lighthouse. "you mean in there?" she asked. Emily stood with Scarlet still on her shoulder and she too looked out.

Shade solemnly nodded, feeling anxious again. He wanted to go and find out who was there, but what if an Eraser had survived? He could endanger his friend and there other mutants here if he made a bad call.

"Scarlet, mind going and investigating?" Emily asked, looking to the owl on her shoulder. Scarlet drooped her wings in the general 'I don't wanna' reaction. "come on, please? You're the least conspicuous out of all of us. You fit in like a glove, by way of appearance." Scarlet still didn't look like she wanted to go. "she doesn't want to go because of the rain." said Zeta from his nook. Scarlet nodded, as that was the reason she didn't want to go. "I'll tell you what. If you go, you can roll on my wing to dry off. Deal?" Emily held a finger up, and Scarlet took it in her foot. The general idea was a handshake to seal the deal. Scarlet then took off, into the rain. She flew down towards the lighthouse.

Shade silently watched Scarlet flying towards the lighthouse. At least the rain was lessening now. It didn't seem like the storm would last too long.

~Lighthouse~

Larassa was sleeping soundly in the lighthouse until there was a boom of thunder overhead. Larassa shot upright in her bed, stumbling to her feet before her mind had fully woken up. Larassa stumbled to her knees as her ankle wasn't fully healed yet. She let out a yelp and then growled before slowly getting back to her feet. She lit a candle nearby and hone sat down in a wooden chair at the small dining table, wondering what to do now. It wasn't like she normally got any good sleep anyhow.

Scarlet landed on a railing by the entrance of the lighthouse. She was absolutely soaked to the quills. She examined the door from her perch on the rail. She noted that it had been kicked in. Up in the cave, Zack spoke quietly, seemingly to himself. "just be careful, okay? Who knows what's in there..." Scarlet hopped onto the ground and walked to the door. It would be too suspicious to her intelligence to open the door herself, so she took off again, spiralling around the light house. The wind had died down a lot, but Scarlet could fly in worse. Her limits were tested back in the facility, so she had practice. She landed on the floor of the platform outside the glass cylinder the light normally shined from. Down the spiral staircase, she saw the faint light if a candle. Trying to look as owl like as possible, which she was darn good at, she waddled herself around to try and peek down the staircase from outside.

Shade watched Zack curiously, having heard him speaking to himself. Was he communicating with Scarlet?

~Lighthouse~

Larassa became increasingly frustrated with herself since she was still injured and pulled out her personal hunting knife before stabbing it into the wooden table. She glared at it, feeling angry with herself for the moment.

Scarlet could not see down the staircase to actually see the one occupant of the building. However, there was a door up here. The door itself was completely gone, so Scarlet walked tight in. The large lamp was coated in dust that now swirled with the little breeze that made it inside. Scarlet had a little plan to get the occupant to reveal themselves. She tried to be quiet as she flew up to the lamp. Between the large glass lenses was the bulb. She examined that it seemed like it could still work. She hopped down a little, finding the on switch for the bulb. She noted where the door was, and flicked the switch...... Nothing happened. She now assumed that the power was out. Plan B. She climbed back up the lamp and removed the bulb. She tossed it down the staircase, and it shattered. She took off the moment she let it go, and was flying through the door as it shattered.

Larassa shot to her feet at the sound of glass shattering, cursing under her breath as she stumbled a bit off balanced. Steadying herself, Larassa then limped towards the stairs, frowning down at the broken glass. Where'd it come from? She began climbing the stairs tentatively, slowly approaching the open door. She then stood at the edge of the doorway, looking around for whoever had done that.

Scarlet will have circled once so she could actually see who was there before leaving. She saw what she was looking for. She began powering herself back towards the cave.

~Cave~

"get away from the edge, now!" Zack suddenly yelled urgently. Chip and Emily complied promptly. Both seemed confused.

Larassa snarled at the open doorway before shouting, "Who's there?" She narrowed her eyes, but only saw a bird flying nearby. Nothing. Damn.

~Cave~

Shade silently complied, taking a few steps backwards before waiting to see what would happen next.

"there is an eraser in the lighthouse down there. It's Larassa." Zeta said. Chips eyes flung wide In fear and she froze. Emily was shocked. "how did she find us?" she asked. "I don't think she found us. Scarlet said one of her wings was in an odd angle... I recall seeing her wings earlier while we were still... There. One looked broken."zack said.

Shade was frozen in fear as well. His hands went to his forehead as he stumbled backwards against the cave wall, groaning. He began having sudden flashbacks to his personal experiences with Larassa. His eyes then shot open, wide with fear, as he saw himself back in the lab with Larasssa. She'd made his life a living hell because of how his physique is designed.

Chip almost started crying by the time Scarlet made if back. "we need to get away from here, fast." Emily said. "I'll poke my head out to see if she's I side. Forest chance we get, we leave and fly thata way." she pointed down the coast, away from the lighthouse. She then went to the cave entrance, getting down on her belly to poke only her head out over the edge to see the lighthouse.

Shade was still frozen in place, his mind muddled by visions of the past. His wings and arms now hang limply by his sides, his face stuck in an expression of fear.

Emily ducked her head back into the cave. "she's still there." she said. Chip sat down next to shade. not thinking about it, her wing leant on shades own and she didn't realise it.

(Ignoring the wing contact)

Shade vaguely felt Chip's presence near him and glanced down at her, his eyes unblinking as he was still seeing some flashbacks. His body shook a bit with anxiety building in him. He'd most likely have a panic attack soon.

Emily looked at shade from where she lay. She deduced what was going to happen. "oi. Panic and she will find us. If you start yelling, I will slap you to snap you out of it." she warned. She peeked out at the lighthouse again.

Shade blinked away his visions as best as he could, though they were still in the back of his mind. He then glared at Emily for threatening him. Shade had been threatened enough at the lab, and now there was nobody to stop him from defending himself.

~Lighthouse~

Larassa snarled again as she took a step outside, standing at the top of the stairs for a moment as she slowly looked around. She didn't know any birds to try and casually wander in a lighthouse like that one had done. She then blinked and changed her eyes into wolf eyes as she began searching the forest for any potential mutant heat signatures. Satisfied that nobody was in the forest, Larassa then shifted her gaze to the beach below her.

Emily retreated back into the cave once more. "stay away from the edge. She's looking around." she looked at shade. "... I have no reason to slap you now, don't worry. It was only if you panicked." she said.
