The Good Ship (Flighter and Oit)

Nadia was about to answer the girl, but noticed Todd, Seiva, and a very disgruntled Drianne approaching, and just motioned to them, "Here." Seiva looked at Drianne again, adressing her question from earlier, "Insane or not, does that matter? Dear, I am from Hell. I frankly do not give a damn." Nadia sighed and smiled apologetically at Drianne before looking again at Seiva, "I can tell this will get us closer to finding him..." Seiva frowned, and turned to Drianne, "In that case, I am sorry, and I shall pay more attention to each of your desires in the future." Without another word, or even looking at the two girls, she headed off West, shoving her hands into her pockets as she thought. "She really is sweet..." Nadia assured the others quietly, following Seiva after a moment.

"Alright then." Airii nodded. Finally, they were going. She began walking with the sleeping Eirii on her back, heading west as it was decided quite a while ago.

Drianne watched as the group promptly headed on their way. Drianne, utterly dumbfounded, bit the bottom of her lip as she nearly began to cry. She sniffled, rubbing away the newly created tears that began pouring from her eyes. She still didn't know anything, and she was pulled along without notice, and they were just expecting her to follow? And with the girl's attitude, it only made it worse.

"I'm just going to go back..." She mumbled, which probably wasn't loud enough for any of them to hear. She turned around, and dragged herself back to the castle.

Todd noticed this. He had heard her, his wolven sense of hearing helping this. He immediately turned with her and took her by the shoulder to stop her. He was confused as to why she suddenly wanted to go back. Didn't Drianne understand how dangerous the castle was now? He looked down at her, his expression a mix of worry and confusion.

"Drianne, you can't go back there -- You could get hurt! Abbessus could kill you." He placed his other hand on her opposite shoulder, gently tugging her to face him, "I know this is confusing and a bit hard to believe, but you're far safer with us. Way safer." He used his thumb to wipe away her tears.

"It'll be okay, alright?" He forced a smile for her, "We're all going to make everything better and normal again. You're gonna have to trust me, okay?"

Seiva and Nadia noticed too, and Seiva cursed under her breath, muttering to Nadia, "I didn't help this... Did I? I only made it worse." She stopped, but made no motion to go back to the young girl, fearing she would only make it worse. Nadia looked at Seiva, then sighed and moved to Drianne's side, smiling apologetically and sympathetically at her, "Listen. If you want... I could show you proof this is happening. That this is real. I could make you see what I see for a moment... But I doubt you want to see that. If not, you really just have to trust us. You have to trust Todd." She looked West, then back at Drianne, "You want information. Right? To the West are some magic users who can help. We want to make the Queen back to how she used to be. You'd like that right?"

Drianne shook her head, trying to push away Todd's hand when he came to her. "I can't leave everything behind and run... Even if I did go with you guys, I don't think I would enjoy it... Journeying outside the walls of Escherisa is both risky and dangerous, and even though I do know quite a lot about the beasts that lurk outside, I'm too weak to do anything. I'd only get in the way. If I were to die, I'd rather die doing the thing I love to do..."

Drianne sniffled again, nervously rubbing the balls of her sandaled feet on the ground. "I would like the queen to return back to normal, but I don't see myself being useful..."

Todd looked down at Drianne, his expression shifting to a tired sadness. Todd was always tired, it seemed, but now more so. He was tired of seeing people - people who didn't deserve it - die. He saw Drianne as another potential victim. Someone who will die from some horrible tragedy or his own incompetence.

"Please," He begged the little girl, "Please don't go back there. It's too dangerous, just -- just don't, please."

He then tried to think of some sort of solution. Any sort of way to keep Drianne out of the castle and into somewhere safe.

"Do you have anywhere to go besides the castle?" He asked, "A relative? An... Orphanage? A homeless shelter --?"

Then Todd went over what she said in his head. The words tumbled in there until something clicked.

"Monsters?" He asked raising a brow, "What monsters?" There were monsters out there that he didn't know about? That nobody told him about? And yet this little girl knew about them. She knew.

Seiva groaned, "This is never good when feelings get into the mix... I'm going soft..." She walked up to Drianne, and looked into her eyes, "I don't know any of the beasties outside. I don't know how to sew a shirt. You are valuable for those two things, and you probably know how to do more." She shifted, looking at Nadia awkwardly for a moment. She wasn't good at being too understanding, and hoped she was doing alright. This next move though made Nadia a little bit surprised.

Seiva stuck out her hand, "I am of demonic nature. I'm sure you've heard about deals we make. Usually for our own gain. We stay true to them though..." She paused, still looking the girl in the eye, "I want to make a deal with you. You come along, and I will protect you the best that I can. I will try my damnedest to make sure you stay alive at the very least, though I will aim for no harm coming to you."

" I don't have anywhere else to go to, sadly. " Drianne wanted to look away, to just bolt to the castle without stopping. She didn't want to go. She didn't want to live the days she had previously lived, out in the open with the wilderness.

But Todd, oddly enough, seemed interested in the monsters outside. "Well, to begin with... There are plenty of monkey species out there that dominate the trees outside of Escherisa, so the ideal way to move would be on foot or in the air, above the trees. Keep in mind that if we go on foot that there are several bugs and insects that carry diseases deadly to us, and travel in groups. There are certain noises you can make to make them go away. There might be a few Giits along the way that can be cooked and fried and such, and there are some lakes filled with fish safe enough to eat. But things will be fine if..."

If...

Drianne sighed. Now she was too caught up in this. The girl from before stuck her hand out to her, and proposed a deal. That if she had gone, that she would protect her as much as she could. She stared at her hand for a moment, forcing her hand out, shaking her hand. She hoped she wouldn't regret doing this.

"Okay..."

Todd, while elated by Drianne's acceptance of the deal, and agreeing to come with, felt incredibly bad for her. They were taking her away from her home. It's not like they had a choice, but what else could they do? Besides, Drianne seemed to be pretty knowledgeable about this world outside of the kingdom's walls. Without her, they may as well be walking to their graves.

They left the kingdom while they could, out and beyond, into the unknown. Who knew what lay beyond?

"I have a confession to make." Todd then said, having just remembered that it was important for them all to know. If anything, the information could save them.

"I'm a creature called a werewolf. Every full moon I turn into a horrible, snarling and drooling monster. I have no control over myself when this happens. I was that monster that landed in the middle of the castle and killed those servants and guards. If... If I hurt any of you -- W-well, you guys would know what to do so you don't get hurt, right? You all told me before. Just, uh... Just a heads up. So you guys can do something. Chain me up or whatever. If you can. I hope."

He silently begged Drianne with his eyes not to run now that she knew this information.

Nadia stared at Todd, at his news, and took a nonchalant step away from him. She would still be kind to him, but she really didn't like Werewolves much, nor did she trust them. Seiva on the other hand looked at Todd with a raised brow, "A werewolf huh? How did I not smell that on you? Well. Either way. Not like it matters much. I've dealt with Werewolves before, and you probably wouldn't be much different. I won't kill you or anything, but you should really do some meditating, and gain control over that side. It could be of much use to you."

Seiva looked at Drianne again, and smiled, a sweet and true smile, "Hey. Even with that information, you are still safe little one." She winked, and rested a hand lightly on her back, "Besides, if he wolfs out, he will need his clothes fixed. Who better to do that than you, dear?" Her smile didn't fade, but she was all too ready to catch her, should she try to run.

Airii yawned, and glanced back at the group before continuing on outside Escherisa's borders. Frankly, she had 't a clue who the new arrivals were (Sevia and Drianne), but she didn't care much for them in the sense that they were newcomers and instead welcomed them in as teammates. Teammates with value she didn't know of.

As they reached the outside and into a foresty area, Todd stopped to confess. Airii turned back with the sleeping Eirii on her back, and Drianne stopped by Sevia's side. He spoke about the werewolf, how it came each full moon, and how he murdered a bunch of people the day before in the castle's lobby.

Airii rose an eyebrow and shrugged nonchalantly, "So it wasn't theoretical? But it doesn't matter much to me, you've got a little less than three weeks. "

Drianne wasn't at all frightened about this, but sad and worried. "That's terrible..." She couldn't imagine the trauma that could have been brought by that. "...But I won't run. Todd, you're not a bad person yourself, and that's all that matters... I think."

Todd was put off by Nadia's reaction, though this did not surprise him -- And though this did not surprise him, he couldn't help but look nothing but hurt that she she would instantly back away like that. It... It wasn't like he was a monster now. Was she now scared of him or something?

And then there was talk of Drianne not needing to worry, since they could handle him. How to the others, it didn't matter. It really didn't matter to them. Drianne even told him she still didn't think he was a bad person.

He wasn't a bad person.

Todd almost laughed at the irony of that sentence. Almost. Instead, however, he turned his head ever so slightly away from everyone else, feeling eyes getting wet. He wasn't a bad person. No, no, jesus christ, don't go crying in front of them, you'll look like some kind of emotional crybaby-weakling-whatever. So Todd held back his tears, quickly wiping his eyes. He looked back at the group, mostly accepted by them. Four out of five. That was certainly good enough for him.

"Thank you." He told them quietly. Sincerely, and accompanied with a small, sad smile. These people he had just met, how could they just so readily take this information? No, perhaps they didn't understand how awful it was yet. Perhaps they just didn't realize. And they won't realize until the next full moon.

Nadia let out a tense but quiet breath, and smiled at him sweetly, "I am flattered that you trust all of us enough to tell us something like that. Something that must have been hard for you to say." She didn't have anything against him as a person, but Werewolves and her had a bad past. It was a past she didn't exactly want to share yet with them. She turned and moved towards Airii and Eirii, "Let's get going, yes? The mages are old, so we don't want them withering away before we get there."

Seiva looked at Nadia, and sighed, smiling at Todd apologetically. She spoke near silently, too quiet for a human to hear, "Don't mind her. She... has a hard time with Werewolves. They can be a bit of an issue where she is from... and her mother and father were killed by a group of them. Don't take it as a personal thing." She smiled more truly, and walked faster, speaking at a normal volume again, "Yeah! Come on. Let's go."

"Oh yeah, of course," Airii said in response to Nadia, who was ready to go right after Todd's confession. Although she couldn't very well understand feelings like this, seeing as she never exactly experienced these things. She only motioned for the others to follow and, off she went with Nadia by her and Sevia running up to her.

Drianne walked up happily to Todd and held his hand, looking up at him, smiling nicely. "Let's go! Todd!" She said, in a certain tone that showed she was trying to cheer him up. She, not having acute hearing, couldn't hear Sevia talking, until she had agreed on continuing.

Something else came up on her mind, however, and she felt something from far away running by feet towards them, but not exactly.

((bluh))

Todd froze up at the mentioning of a pack of werewolves killing Nadia's mother and father. Well, he certainly shouldn't be blamed for that, should he? Those werewolves weren't even him. Then again, Todd felt he could relate. He was incredibly brutal towards the zombies on Earth, for he blamed them all for taking away everyone he cared for. He knew the feeling. He knew the bitterness, the pure spite towards something or someone because they were simply a part of a large group, of something bigger.

Though he knew now that to allow such hatred to blind oneself was a very, very bad idea.

Then Drianne took his hand. "Let's go" She had said, and with a smile and a nod, gently gripping her hand as she held his, he walked with her for a bit more until he suddenly heard a sound coming from their left. With a wolf-like snarl in that direction, he unsheathed his sword and readied for any sort of confrontation.

((Sorry for the delay... And yeah its kinda small T.T Didn't really know what to write.))

They hadn't gotten very far at all before they all seemed to notice something. Nadia said nothing, but almost instantly got behind Seiva for protection purposes. She didn't know what it was, but then again, neither did Seiva. Seiva didn't move much at all, but instead just turned in the direction of the sound. She didn't look like it, but she was ready for any attack it had to offer up.

Her glamour completely dropped, one less thing she would have to worry about. The glamour being dropped revealed her wings, horns, and bright red eyes in all. Her eyes were turning black slowly, a sadistic smirk appearing on her face as she spoke, "Oh please let this be a fight. I haven't had a fight in far too long."

Eirii stopped, obviously not knowing why everyone was getting their pants in a bunch. Perhaps this was because she didn't have such hightened senses, or powers. She sighed, and turned around to look at them.

"What's wro--"

"Shh!"

"What?"

"Shh! Don't talk, don't move, don't anything!" Drianne said quickly, but quietly. She squeezed Todd's hand for him to stand still, and stay in the position that he was in. The creature from afar stopped romping only to turn into the group's direction, causing the forest to shake with each powerful romp that it made across the ground. Then it came into view. A large creature, looking to be a hybrid of a boar and a bull, with a black pelt and humongous tusks that stuck out of its mouth that had an obvious use. It stood at the height of about two men, length of five, width of one. And it's eyes glowed a monsterous purple. Snorting through a piggish nose, it looked over and tried to sniff out the group.

Todd stared at the creature, the grip on his sword still tight, but he didn't move it, no, not an inch. If Drianne was telling him not to move, he won't move. It was best not to attempt fighting such a creature anyway. He fully admitted to being utterly terrified by this creature from its sheer size alone. Indeed, he stood as still as a statue as nervous sweat began to glisten off of his skin.

He held Drianne's hand just as tightly as she help his. Would this creature just ignore them, perhaps? Did standing still truly make such a difference? Would it ever go away? Would their little adventure end as quickly as it began?

Todd was especially worried for poor Drianne. Right after being told she'll be alright, they've encountered this awful-looking beast. Was she scared too? She knew what it was more than they all did. Surely she was terrified.

Seiva's eyes glistened and her small smile turned more into a large grin, staring at the large creature in front of them. Her first reaction was to play with it, then kill it and probably gut it, but Nadia caught her thoughts and flicked Seiva's back. She sighed and shrugged, instead deciding to distract the beast. She raised a hand slowly, a small ball of fire appearing at her fingertips. She then flicked her fingers, sending the ball of fire right in front of the pig thing. She assumed since it was an animal of some sort, it would naturally run from fire. Whether that worked or not, Seiva shrugged again, and looked behind her at Nadia, who still stared at the Pig monster.

Drianne was shaking on the inside. She knew what these beasts were capable of, and honestly she was scared silly of them. As long as they stayed still, it wouldn't see them as a threat and just walk away. But, to her dismay, she saw Sevia out of the corner of the eye, moving, lighting a... Flame? In her hand...

The beast, upon seeing the fire flare up infront of it, initially took a step back, giving out a ear-popping screech and a whine. It stomped on the fire, completely getting rid of it, then turned to the person who had casted it. Giving quite the provoked snort, it rushed in and charged into Sevia, whipping around its head to get a hit in with its tusk.

Todd was half extremely irritated that Seiva didn't listen to basic instructions and half utterly terrified of the now-pissed bull-pig monster. He didn't even notice her horns and wings. All he saw was that now the thing was about to attack her and she was looking the other way at her little friend.

Todd had no choice but to take action.

"Oh f*ck me!" He yelled out, unwanting to confront the creature, but forcing himself to do so anyway. He practically tore his blade out of his sheathe, ran and hammered it down onto the creature's side, to distract it at least. Those new women were going to get them all killed, god damn them!

He just hoped Drianne knew to get somewhere safe.

Nadia popped out of existence there, and appeared again next to Drianne, speaking to her, "Let's back away from this, yes?" She put a hand on the other girl's shoulder, and smiled lightly at her, pulling her back slowly, wanting to get to a safer distance. The moment that Nadia had disappeared, Seiva looked ahead again at a much closer pig-thing, with Todd attacking it's flank. Seiva frowned a bit, then smiled again as she stepped more towards the creature.

"I wonder how well it really cooks? Eh Nadia?" Seiva said, but Nadia didn't answer, and still held onto Drianne protectively. Seiva shrugged, and waved a hand towards the beast again, this time creating fire right on it's back. She called out to Todd, "I would engulf it in flames, but you, dear, are in the way. Thank you for helping though!" Seiva used her wings to get a bit of air, and fly to Todd's side, then used her nails like claws to dig into the creature's side, tearing out a chunk of flesh, "Its about to get quite mad. I suggest we both back away a little bit."

"Jeez, I say be quiet and then this happens! You won't get far scratching or burning it, its exterior is--"

Drianne looked more worried than ever, if only Sevia hadn't done anything. But it couldn't be helped now. She looked over at Nadia, who mysteriously appeared by her side.

"It's exterior is quite rough, and is possibly the hardest thing to get into. It can easily be used as armor... But there aren't many cloths made out of it, because this creature is extremely powerful and hard to deal with."

Airii wouldn't be able to do much, with a girl much smaller than her sleeping on her back. She ran, then scaled up a tree, then hoisted herself and her sister up onto a branch. Airii wasn't exactly sure that she was safe, since the pig-bull was huge.

The pig-bull stopped, screeching at the sword that was swung down on its skin. It didn't get very far into the skin, and it was stuck lodged where it came in contact. It's whole body whirled around, and it grabbed at Todd with its tail before being burnt on it's back and scratched on the same side it was cut. It practically went ballistic then, thrashing around in a fit of rage, practically ruining the foresty area around it.

((OIT STAHP USING THE SAME WORDS TWICE))

Before Todd knew it, he sword was stuck in the bull-pig and he was grabbed by its tail. Yup, amazing job there, Todd. You just became the damsel in distress while trying to clean up after that idiot demon-lady! But hey, who was going to help him? This thing seemed pretty unstoppable.

Yeah, that's it, he guessed. That's the end. Still, this thought didn't keep Todd from struggling as best as he could.

"H-Help!" He called out to the others, his voice strangled from the panic that wove around it. He certainly wanted to die, sure, but god, not like this! He had responsibilities to take care of, first!

Nadia smiled again politely at Drianne before disappearing, and reappearing nearly on top of him. She would have apologized in advance, knowing people's bodies hated this, but didn't have time. She made them both teleport away from the pig, and reappear back where Drianne was standing. Assuming he would be sick, Nadia called out to Seiva, "Time to go, Miss! Distract it or something!" Seiva heard and obliged as best she could, in all honesty a little unsure what to do about the beast. She leapt back, and shrouded it in darkness, before practically sprinting back to the group, "Let's go shall we?"
