The Good Ship (Flighter and Oit)

Todd had forgotten to put away his sword - now sheathed - and came into the room with the weapon strapped to his back. He didn't really feel its weight, being as strong as he was, and forgot that it still needed to go into the supply closet. It must have made his steps heavier, as before he could knock, he was already being let it.

Todd opened the door and gave Drianne a small wave.

"Mission successful," He told her. It was all he told her about the day. There was no need for her to know he had been talking to thieves.

"Hey, you wouldn't happen to know where the Queen is right now, would you? If I'm allowed to, I need to speak to her. I figure she'd want to know about any activity that went on out there. And, I mean, I've got other questions too, but, eh..." He gave her a little shrug.

Drianne blinked and waved with a stupid grin as Todd walked inside the room. "Hi Todd!" She greeted. Mission complete, he said. Right, he was fighting crime. "Well, good job then! I see you didn't get hurt. You must be good at the job. I see why she entrusted the crime to you." Drianne spun back around in her little chair and fiddled with her scarf. The next thing she knew, Todd asked her about the queen, and told her he was going to tell her about his day and ask a few questions.

"Well, I think she's still resting in her room... It's upstairs, center opening, the very large door. You can't miss it." Drianne nodded. "Is that all?"

Todd smirked a bit when he was handed the compliment. Right, they sure could trust him, eh? He let two thieves get away because of something that might be wrong with the Queen. What a guy. What a super duper soldier he was. He saw that Drianne was having trouble knitting a scarf, and as amusing as it was, the young man decided not to comment.

She told him that Chrysaorus was still resting. Still resting? Should he really bother her when she's still trying to relax? Still, it's not like Drianne told him he couldn't. She gave him the directions to her room, after all. Surely that meant something?

"That's it." He answered her question, "Thank you. I Think I'll, uh, head back here when I'm done."

He gave her a small nod, then he was off. He followed the little tailor's instructions to Chrysaorus's room's door, and gave it a light knock. If she was awake, she'd hear. If not, he supposed he could just head back and try again later.

"Ookay. See you, Todd!" Drianne waved, seeing him exit the door. Then she turned around and continued to fiddle with the scarf that kept giving her troubles.

With a little grumble, Chrysaorus rolled around in her large bed to face the door. Flipping on the lights with her light power, she directed her voice to the door and spoke. "If it's one of my servants, I'm trying to rest. Leave whatever you need to give me by the door... And if you would like to speak to me then wait... Oh... Is that Todd?"

Todd heard the groan and immediately wanted to start beating his head against the nearest wall. Of course she was still sleeping -- Of course! What was he, some kind of brainless moron? Well, yes -- but - but was he a brainless moron with the mental capabilities of a snail?! Of course not! And yet he still managed to bother someone that was really a bad idea to bother.

"U-uh, yea-yeah, yes -- Yes it is --" He cleared his throat, "I have gone the whole day and... Dealt with no criminal activity, Queen Chrysaorus. I guess your kingdom isn't as collapsable and crime-infested as you made it seem. May I come in? Are you, er, decent? If -- If you could -- I have a couple of questions for you. If you didn't mind." He then quickly added, "I am so, so sorry, I had no idea you were sleeping -- I-I can come later if you want me too."

He was sweating. He couldn't piss the queen off. He couldn't piss the queen off. He couldn't piss the queen off. Zip-a-dee-doo-da, zip-a-dee-day, my oh my what a wonderful day. Of course, he whistled that tune nervously. He always whistled that song when he was nervous. There was truly nothing like a happy song from an incredibly racist children's movie.

"You sound like a broken melody player. Speak clearly. I can barely hear you." Chrysaorus rolled over on her back with her eyes facing the ceiling and her legs pushed against her bottom. Her arms lay spraed across the bed. She was sleeping a while ago, but woke up nearly twenty minutes ago.

"I am in appropriate attire," which was a long white chemise, "So get in and make things quick... Todd."

((Sorrehsorreh))

Todd was a bit shocked by Chrysaorus's change in attitude, and while he figured it was because he must have woken her up (even though this was not the case), he couldn't help but throw a bit of that attitude back. Todd was certainly not the type to take such tone and such remarks with ease. He was proud, and he was aggressive. The old Todd? The old Todd would have maybe rolled over and get stepped on, but not now. Not anymore.

Todd entered the room roughly, nearly breaking the handle in the process.

"Alright, questions." His tone was far more callous now. Broken "melody player" his ass, "First off, what the hell is an Abbessus? I heard it was a law-thing god creature who's kinda crazy, and I'm just trying to get my facts straight, y'know? Secondly, I've been hearing some rumors about you. You might want to clear things up, because certain people have told me that you were 'going' to go 'nuts'. Not my wording, but hey, what can you do?"

He crossed his arms, raising a brow at Chrysaorus.

"Getting your facts straight, hmm?" Chrysaorus kept looking at the door. If Todd was even more rough with it it would have broken, causing Chrysaorus to sigh. She rolled back onto her belly, crossed her arms on the bed infront of her, and stared at Todd with sharp and mildly serious eyes.

"First of all, Abbessus is not crazy. Abbessus has different morals. While Kolliah is, nicer... And prefers having a world ruled by happiness, Abyssus prefers having a world ruled by fear. They still, however, work together as Abbessus is Kolliah's creation. And, go nuts? I don't quite understand what that means, but from what I can tell they believe I'm going to go insane." Chrysaorus smiled, keeping her sharp eyes. "I'm fine, Todd. I'm just tired."

Todd didn't really know how to respond. He opened his mouth a few times, but ended up closing it again. He stood, he thought a bit. Todd didn't understand. Other than being somewhat irritable, Chrysaorus seemed fine. Though he couldn't quite believe that Abbessus works with Kolliah, who was he to question this world? After all, surely the queen would know more than a newcomer about her own kingdom. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. He remembered what one of the girls said, and decided to bring it up.

"I met someone today who said they saw Abbessus in this castle, with you." The words came out quietly. He was still figuring things out, but it seemed like this Abbessus creature was very much like Irvine, back in Concordia. To rule by fear was morally unjust. Effective, but wrong. Maybe it wasn't here - again, how could he truly know? - but he couldn't imagine a Queen that cares for her kingdom so much to be talking with someone -- Or something like that.

"That was quite a while ago. Even now, I can't quite remember..." Chrysaorus' smile wilted away pretty quickly, making way for one of disgust. Someone saw him with her? That would ruin things all too much. She'd have the person who saw her killed. She grabbed onto the bedsheets, pushing herself off, stepping onto the floor.

"Todd..." Her voice changed just a teeny bit, sounding more off-key and ominous. "Just where did you hear that from?"

"Well, erm --" Todd had to lie. He had to think of some sort of excuse fast. Something was very wrong, here. He didn't even notice himself grabbing the handle of his sword. It was truly instinctive.

"Frankly, I can't remember who said -- I talked with a lot of people today -- I don't know any names. Not a single one. It's just a rumor, after all."

He felt like he was in danger. That look on the Queen's face, that tone she used -- Perhaps then, those kids were right.

"Todd, I do not like liars." Chrysaorus had a twisted thought. "Todd, I do not like those who dwell in things they're not supposed to." Chrysaorus gave a wicked grin. "Todd, do you know what this means?"

"Todd, I'm going to kill you." The chuckling was the thing that mostly set off the trigger. She began twitching— all over her body— with the incredible urge to splatter Todd's blood all over her room. She gave out a pleasured shriek, before hugging herself, and crying tears of insane tears. "Todd, your blood! I need it!"

With a startled gasp, Todd drew his sword and backed against the door, the tip pointed at the queen. The kids were right -- They were right! What had happened? What had Abbessus done to this woman? Would he have to kill her? No, he had to find some way to solve this problem without hurting the Queen. She spared him, after all. This couldn't have been her fault.

"Chrysaorus, I need to ask you to calm down now. Please." He told her sternly, "Just tell me what's wrong -- You don't need to kill me, I'm sure. You don't need my blood. Just... Tell me so I can get you help, okay? Alright?"

And who the hell was he going to run off to? Who would believe him about this? Well, he had to try and find someone -- what else could he possibly do?

"No, no..." Chrysaorus shivered. As a result of her insanity, she couldn't quite control her emotions. She frowned, "Do I need help? Wrong... No, Todd, you're wrong!" She went from sadness, to uncertainty, then anger. "Let me make it right! Let me just... Cut you on the arm or something? Then the neck, into your eyes, rip off your skin, everything will be alright!..."

Get a hold of yourself! Chrysaorus wasn't like this. She grabbed at her hair, with a grimace, and pulled herself over to the wall, where she purposefully hit her head. "Do something, Todd... I can't resist a god..."

((Hnnnnnnnnnnnnn I'm still not satisfied with this post somehoowwww....))

Todd froze for a second, not knowing what he should do, exactly. Who could help? Could he help her on his own? No, no he couldn't. Todd needed to find someone. Anyone. Everyone knew far more than he did -- They'd probably know what to do in this situation.

Todd held his hand up to Chrysaorus.

"Hold on -- Stay there, I'll get help!" He instructed, then bolted off in a random direction. Surely there'd be a guard somewhere right? This is a castle. He searched, searched and searched until he found one.

"Hey!" He called, "Hey, the Queen's in trouble -- She needs help!"

The guard turned, giving Todd an odd look. "Isn't she in her room? How can she be in trouble?" The guard wasn't very accepting of the information. He only knew that Todd was supposed to take care of the crime, as he was told by the other guards who were told by the servants. "... Hold on." The guard, clad in silver armor, made haste in arriving to Chrysaorus' room, anyway.

"My Queen?"

"No." Next thing the guard knew, he had a light spear impale him through his head. He was forced against the wall, blood spurting right where it hit. Chrysaorus exited the room, yawning. "Guess I'll have to get started... But first, I need to get rid of that Todd character..."

Todd wanted to check on Chrysaorus, himself to see if she was alright. While this need filled him, caution also played its part in the front of his mind. She needed help, but she was also crazy. Hah, getting sent out of the war-torn Concordia and into the clutches of a nutso-Queen. Out of the frying pan and into the fire.

He kept his sword ready as he slowly crept back over to her room. Something must be done, for the sake of this strange and foreign country, and for the sake of the queen who ruled it. What Todd would like to know, however, is how Chrysaorus managed to get "possessed" (or whatever it may be) by some evil god. Another question -- How can he help fix whatever may have been messed up?

Nadia and Seiva both readied for the trip. She had decided to try again. To try yet another realm to search for her sudo father, Hades. Nadia, the maid and servant of Seiva, readied light packs, enchanted so they would hold much more than they seemed to be able to, and then handed Seiva her coat. It was a long trench coat, black in color. Though it looked thin, the inside was ready for cold weather, and Seiva smiled, leaving it unbuttoned purposefully. Nadia donned her own coat, and they walked throughout the Underworld together, half-banshee, and demoness alike.

Whenever they walked together here, it garnered odd looks, not because of the fairly revealing red and black dress that Seiva had on her perfect looking body. No. That was innocent for here. The people here did not appreciate the positive effect that Nadia had had on Seiva. The two acted like they could be sisters, and could be, if not for the obvious blond hair on Nadia, and the black on Seiva, the skin tone difference, and a number of other physical traits.

Seiva was a thin and beautiful thing, but not anorexic, with a fairly busty chest, and a certain air about her that screamed of poise, authority, and almost royalty. Her black hair had some curl to it, but was overall just long and wavy.Nadia on the other hand was slightly heavier set, with a smaller chest. With her blond curls cupping her face though, and then trailing down to almost her rear, most think she is years younger than she really is, and find her adorable to a fault.

The two of them walked to the Fates, and Seiva spoke for a while to them about political matters. Most discussions with them now-a-days were tense, what with the Underworld on the decline. They always acted like something was just on the brink of happening, getting more and more tense each day. They seemed oddly happy though, when she announced that she would be leaving with Nadia again for a while, not knowing how long it would be until she returned.

So they left, stepping through the portal that Seiva had opened, and the two of them soon landed. Nadia held back, as usual with these things, as Seiva looked around, taking in their surroundings. They seemed to have landed outside of some room with two other people, right in the middle of what looked like a tense scene. Seiva cleared her throat, "Erm... Where have I landed? I wasn't aiming at any realm in particular, so I am not certain as to where I am." She looked at Chrysaorus, cocking her head to the side slightly, "Hey chick? What's wrong with you?"

Chrysaorus huffed, she'd probably have to sniff the wolf man out. Wouldn't be too hard, with him in proximity of the castle. She checked herself, body features, how she would go about movement. She hasn't been much of a laborer, as expected from a queen. It would suffice anyway. Chrysaorus took her first step, towards a new method of order, but some noise interrupted her.

It came from behind her. Chrysaorus turned, with a little glare. "Who the h--" She began, but seeing who it was, she only chuckled. Two beings from hell, Abbessus knew this. How they could make it into the mundane world...

"Ah, well, you're within the Escherisan castle, of Escherisa. Queen Chrysaorus, at your service..." Chrysaorus forced herself to smile nicely at the two, even if there was a dead person right next to her.

Todd would have entered Chrysaorus's room once more, but the painfully strong stench of blood threw him off. Could he really enter the room when it appears that the queen may have murdered someone? "May Have"? No, this had to be the case. Todd turned to leave. The smell of blood blocked off the two new women's odor. If he knew those two were in there with the queen, he would have barged in and pulled them both out.

Unfortunately, this was not the case, and Todd ran out of the castle as fast as his legs could carry him. He had to find those two thieves. They'd know more about this than him. Maybe there could be some way to exorcize the god thing? Can someone even do that here, or was Chrysaorus screwed?

Todd tried not to think of the latter, even if it was far more probable. He ran back to the marketplace and pushed his way past people. He sniffed those thieves out and ran to them, ducking and dodging when he needed to. He let his nose lead him. He wouldn't fail another world. He wouldn't let this one collapse like Concordia did.

"Hello there," Seiva said nonchalantly, nearly ignoring the dead body completely. Nadia stared at it for a moment, thinking about how odd it probably was, at least for this realm, to have dead bodies lying around, then sighed, turning her head towards the noise of someone running, but said nothing of it. She turned to Seiva again, and garnered her attention, "Miss, I am going to explore a little bit. I shall be careful. We need to know a little of this realm though, if we are to look here."

With a nod from Seiva, Nadia was gone, not walking away, but simply teleporting. Being a half-banshee, she could teleport short distances, which made her an excellent maid. Seiva turned back to Chrysaorus, and smiled apologetically, "My apologies for that, and for this intrusion. How good of luck must I have to meet the Queen right off the bat. My name is Seiva Meldain, pleased to make your acquaintance. The other girl is Nadia, my maid. She is a sweet girl really. Half-banshee, and you could hardly even guess she is part human. No offense."

Another smile, and she moved about the room to sit on a chair, clearly unimpressed by the Queen status, though she knew it could be of use. "Now then," she said, smile still planted firmly on her face, "Tell me about yourself. You know I am from Hell, and are not surprised? The horns do tend to give it away, when I do not use my glamour that is. So, I know you know, and you were not startled in the least. My my, what secrets do you hold, young one?"

Nadia, instead of artfully toying with a Queen like Seiva was, was walking along. She had given up teleporting, after a young woman screamed when she appeared next to her. Now she was just walking towards where she believed she should. Nadia was psychic, another Banshee trait she had gotten from her mother, and something was drawing her towards what seemed like a market place.

Chrysaorus only enjoyed the two's company for about ten seconds, before she heard the footsteps drawing away from the door. Crap, she thought, and cursed under her breath. If only she weren't so distracted-- Todd was probably long gone now.

She saw to it that the girl's maid left, but that only left the other one. She seemed pretty interested in her, if not she was teasing her. She didn't have time for this.

"I am sorry, miss, but as a queen, I have things to take care off." Abbessus didn't care much if this was rude, but he couldn't let a rat escape so easily. She'd need to arrange for the citizens to go to a public speaking, and things would follow from there. Chrysaorus exited the room, looking left then right, and ran off to go catch a servant or two.

The girls were still hanging around the marketplace, sadly. One of the vendors had them help around, and it took loads of time. Airii was sweeping around the melon stall, when she saw a familiar figure run through the crowd. "Oh, it's what's his name again!" Airii said, pointing for her half-asleep little sister to see. Eirii yawned, rubbed her eye with her small hand, and looked over at where she was pointing. "Oh, okay."

Airii pulled him over to the stand when he came over, and whispered, "so, how did it go?"

"You were right!" Todd called out to them before he finally reached them, "You were right about everything -- I'm sorry I doubted you. She freaked out on me, and then -- And then I got a guard, and when I went to check on her a little later, I could smell blood coming from her room and - and --" He was stammering, in shock. Why did this have to happen? He thought he finally found a decent place he could stay, and -- Well, he thought Chrysaorus was a very interesting person. Why did she have to be possessed by some demon god?

"How do we fix this?" He asked the sisters, "How do we get the queen back to normal?"

Surely there had to be a way. There was always a way for these sorts of things, right?

Seiva was a little annoyed that she got basically ignored, and so she instead followed the Queen, "You know, I could help you with something maybe. I do know a bit about how to rule, along with combat and such." She shrugged, eyeing the Queen out of the corner of her eye, not trusting her really. Something seemed off, but since Nadia said nothing, she guessed it was okay enough.

Whether the Queen went fast or slow about the house, it didn't matter to Seiva, as she could easily keep pace. She wondered in the back of her mind whether or not it annoyed her to be followed. "You do know I am a demoness. Right?" Seiva questioned, not caring to be quiet about it.

--------------------

Nadia looked at the commotion and muttered, "Psychic abilities, why can't you just... I don't know... not work sometime?" She came closer, listening, but trying not to make it obvious. She was just a maid though, and was not good at that sort of thing. The back to normal bit caused her to trip over a stray box, and land near to them.

Blush touched her cheeks immediately, and she stood, brushing herself off nervously, "S-sorry. I couldn't help but overhear... Umm... What isn't normal about the Queen? Seiva and I just met her a little bit ago, and I thought I had heard someone run off, and.. Well... I ended up here, and... I should really stop talking." Nadia blushed and shook her head, frustrated at how much of a loudmouth she was.

Chrysaorus saw that the demon girl had followed her, and she gave a little disapproving grunt.

"You know, I could help you with something maybe. I do know a bit about how to rule, along with combat and such."

"That's nice."

Chrysaorus turned a corner, still not finding the servant she wanted, with the demon still following her.

"You do know I am a demoness. Right?"

"Of course I do. Your aura gives it away." Chrysaorus stopped, finding it quite useless to continue running from the demon. "You know, I might need your help after all."

--

"We told you! And you didn't believe us?" Airii gave him a spoiled pout. "Abbessus will probably long to kill you. You know about him now, and so you're going to be one of his prime targets!" Airii looked at him with a little glare, but then in the most distinctive part of the marketplace crowd she could hear some lady address them. Did she overhear them? She listened to her, then nodded. "She's possessed!"
