Ribbon

Ribbon wasn't expecting her to be that much older than her, she really didn't look it, though she also guessed that was due to the mutation. Though, she didn't say that to her, of course. "
Yeah. I mean, of course I do, who wouldn't? I was sad at first, though. But like with everything else I decided dwelling on the bad wouldn't make it go away or be any better, so why not make the best of it?" She replied. "Plus, I have to admit it is kind of cool in a way." She added.

Her mood dampened a bit but not visibly at what Fish had told her, just as she said there was no point in crying and hoping everything was a dream. By all rights to her friends and family she was dead, and she couldn't change that. Maybe after everything was over they'd let her go back, but for now it wasn't the case. Fish had then changed the subject to something more comfortable, most likely for the both of them. "
Ooh! Lotsa stuff. Back before this happened I ran track and took gymnastics, everyone said I was pretty good. Though, I wasn't really that good at track. I did much better in gymnastics, at-least I thought so." She replied, pausing a bit before continuing "I used to like to cook too, sweets like pies and cakes mostly. Though, it was a toss up if they'd be edible or not. Heh. What about you?"

Fish welcomed Ribbon's enthusiasm at the new topic of conversation, relieved to have found common ground. Not fond of seeing people suffer, especially emotionally, Fish was glad the girl had perked back up. Being around emotional people tended to exhaust her. She was so empathetic that sometimes she would have to abandon sympathy out of necessity, not allowing herself to feel at all, lest she connected too strongly with other people's emotions. Clear-headedness was essential to her ability to function, and the negative feelings of others could impair her. The mood of the rest of the room was weighing Fish down, so it was pleasant to be in a little bubble with the peppy teen.

"Well, we'll just have to find out where the kitchens are so you can keep on experimenting with your baking. It'd practically be cruel and unusual punishment if they didn't let us have fun between missions," Fish joked. "And gymnastics is great. It was always part of my training routine. I've danced and swum for as long as I've been able to walk, but when I was a little younger than you I decided to combine the two and started doing synchronized swimming. Won a gold medal in the duet category in the '64 Olympics. Best moment of my life, so far," she said, feeling strong nostalgia for her twenties. "Sorry, you probably don't wanna spend your night listening to a has-been thirty-something reminiscing about her glory days. What else interests you?"

A party huh, that was interesting. Not at all what she expected from a top secret program, but not unappreciated. Perhaps something relatively normal will help keep her together after the clusterfuck that was almost dying, being reborn as Medusa's sister and then spending the night dodging trains. She did love parties after all, and perhaps making some friends here wouldn't be so bad. But who to talk to? Well, first off after meeting him Chloe had decided that she will definitely not be associating with her 'Partner' more than she needed to, so he was out. Perhaps one of the others around here will be more up for some friendly conversation, but who to approach?

A quick scan of the people around the room revealed many people already in conversation, and although she was interested in the girl with wings (Can she fly with those?) perhaps going to talk to people who were not already in conversation would help.

Chloe's eyes landed on a girl about her age sitting at the bar, with a few empty bottles in front of her. Seems she had been there a while. That was decided then, it was her duty to rescue this poor person from boredom by going over to chat. The fact that she was incredibly attractive played absolutely no role in Chloe's decision, and no one would ever be able to get her to admit otherwise.

She threaded her way through the crowd, using her enhanced agility to purposely cut a dodge close in a few cases. Whats the point of getting superpowers if you don't abuse them for your amusement?. Once she reached the bar she took a seat next to the girl, looking her at more closely. She has nice eyes.

"Hey, i'm Chloe, but the guys in charge called me Lamia. Fancy a chat?" She hoped the other girl wasn't too off put by the scales, or the fangs, or the eyes. God she was scary looking now.

Ribbon

Ribbon smiled happily when she offered to help her find the kitchen later, she was also interested in her story she told soon after. First, she addressed what she said about finding the kitchen. "
Yea, that'd be great! Maybe I could bake us all a cake later, well a big cake, and in the case of those Overgrown several cakes assembled into a mountain cake." She replied, laughing a bit at her own joke. "And I gotta admit, that's a pretty awesome accomplishment. Best I did was win fifth place in a track meet, heh. But I bet with your new powers you could set world records and stuff." She had continued, almost immediately regretting what she said.

She wasn't sure if Fish had completely come to terms with her new appearance or not, she felt she probably shouldn't of mentioned it. In an effort to change the subject she quickly thought about some of her other interests, of which were many seeing as she helped her friends and family with a lot of different things.

"
I uh. Like chess and stuff, used to play it with my dad all the time. Not really that good at it though, admittedly, but it was still fun. Swimming is fun too, though I didn't do it competitively like you, and I'm sure you're way better at it." She told her soon after she had made the blunder of referrerencing her new fish physiology so casually after they met.

"Yeah...but what I would need is complete and total access to the medical records of everyone here. But I highly doubt they would be able to grant me such access with all of the classifications and levels and shit," sighed Doc, scratching an itch on her cheek as she glanced towards the others in the room, dancing, drinking, or talking amongst themselves. "I don't even know if they would allow me to get anywhere near the Overgrowths. How can I take care of people if I know nothing of their medical history before and after the Bullet?"

@LadyMatsudai

Vampire

Vampire shrugged, she had a point there. Though, it would be possible for her to treat wounds and such, which had been what she was referring to. "
Well, they might get you the records if you asked them. And I'm sure you'd be able to treat wounds at least. Though, I doubt they'd let you do anything with the Overgrowns. Not that I could see you wanting to, I know I wouldn't, but that's aside the point." She told her. "Plus, you could always ask them yourself too. The rest of those like us I mean. Surely they weren't kept in the dark about their medical history." She added. It was clear Doc felt useless, and who could blame her? Apparently her augments given weren't all to useful and the skills she had were almost useless. Though, she obviously had some use or as mentioned previously she'd of been shipped off or killed.

Demon nodded to Laura as she explained that she could take him back to his room. He needed a bit of space, that was all. Thinking too much seemed to hurt. Now he got why Marble didn't speak. He stepped back from the group and decided to grab the blocks. He started to arrange them, not in a tower, but more like a wall around himself. It didn't require any thought and it gave the idea that he needed space. He sat down behind the wall on his hooves and continued listening to them all. It was quick banter that was difficult to keep up with, but the group seemed to enjoy themselves.

Feather smirked at the guy. "You say I can't treat you like a chess piece, but your name is Rook. The nearly unstoppable forward moving piece." She could get an idea of his power from that description. "And I didn't say that everyone was a chess piece or anything along those lines. I meant it in regards of what you can do so that I don't try and throw someone that's great at causing damage on an espionage mission. You just took it as that." Feather twisted any words she said to deter this man from dealing with her. Men approaching her were NOT appreciated. After what she'd been through when her parents died, she'd rather every man disappear off the face of the earth that be involved in her life. "And I'll show respect to those that give me it first Rook." She walked past him with a sneer as she went over to the girl that seemed to be sitting alone on the couch. If I'm going to be forced to interact with people, I'm going to interact with a woman.

Feather sat down next to the woman and couldn't help notice the markings on her face. They were interesting to say the least but seemed to be the only thing that made her stand out. "I'm Feather." She held out her hand to this woman. "And you are?" Feather tilted her head slightly to the side while adjusting her wings so that they wouldn't bother her while sitting on something that had a back to it.

Aqua nearly burst into laughter when he said they could go back to their normal lives. "Oh really? You think that they're going to let a woman who can control water compete in swimming Olympics again?" She nearly spit the words out at Ignus. "The one thing I loved in life was swimming. It was the only thing I could contribute and now I'd always be under scrutiny. Did she use her powers to win? She must have. There's no way she was better than that other girl." Aqua could feel herself starting to break down. "So don't start talking about what I can do after this if you don't even know me." Aqua buried her face in her knees again. She was drunk, depressed and dealing with a reality that she didn't want to be a part of. What more could go wrong for her?

Arriving late to the shindig as it had taken him a while to actually find where to go after waking from his dirt nap, Fox looked around the party and shook his head. "You people call this a party? What's gotten into all of you?" He cried out as he really tried to get the whole place awake to what was going on. "If you can't enjoy this now and let out your frustrations, what are you going to do on the battlefield? You're just asking to have a meltdown." His seven red tails swayed wildly behind him as he smiled. He hadn't been able to enjoy a party to the fullest in his life and now he was getting a great opportunity. As he listened to the music he stepped between a girl at the bar and one of two twins that had been there. "Pardon my intrusion, but would either of you ladies care to dance?" His fox ears still perked up as he looked between the two. The golden eyes of a fox shimmering under the flashing lights. "After all, this is a party."

"Unfortunately...whether it was before or after the bullet, people are not the most honest with doctors. There is this lingering blanket of judgment hanging over them, thinking we would scold them or tell them off for any concerns they may have...and the fear of the unknown of what it could possibly be..." explained Doc, sighing deeply as she coughed a little before standing up. "I think I need another scotch...I plan on being very hung over tomorrow morning...I will be back. I will fetch you another glass of wine too," explained Margaret, her bare feet patting against the tile again as she made her way towards the bar.

Her hips swayed a little to each step before returning to the bar, laying her glass carefully on the polished top and glanced to the bartender, unaware for the moment of the foxy gentleman that had just arrived. "One more glass of wine for Vampire and another double of scotch for me, please," she politely asked, sighing with a hand running through her long dark locks, sapphire eyes closed for a moment to relax.

Vampire

Vampire shrugged as she spoke, she had a point. Though, it'd be fairly hard to lie about a bullet hole or a stab wound. Other than that, she was right. Without full medical records there was little she could do aside from actually treating the obvious. "
Thanks, appreciate it." She thanked her as she walked off. When she was gone, Vampire sat the the piano. She eyed the keys warily, she couldn't play the piano, but hell the bullet gave her wings and made her think raw meat tasted good. So, why not magical piano playing powers?

Rolling with it, she decided to try. And failed pretty miserably. The song was disjointed, out of tune, and all around horrible. Then again, it might of actually be better if she knew a song to play, or actually had practice in the first place. Magical piano playing powers were a no go, and after a minute or two of attempting she stopped playing, hoping she didn't draw too much attention to herself.

Sighing she returned to her own chair and downed the rest of her current glass of wine. It was around that time she noticed what looked like a Kitsune arrive. Well, she couldn't say that was the oddest thing she'd seen today. In all honesty, admist the Overgrowns and the human bonfire he was the most normal thing in the room shy of an Augmented. Though, she wondered what exactly he could do, she didn't bother moving from her seat. Especially with promise of a new glass of wine soon.

As she had done with Doc, she figured if anyone was interested in conversation they'd come to her. Maybe, just maybe, if Doc got busy talking to the kitsune she'd make an effort to find someone else to talk to herself.

Lauren left the chitchat for the ladies. She made sure both her big boys were happy though. She had Marble help her stack up all the blocks to fortify Demon's safety wall, it was like a blanket but for a very large destructive kind of kitten. She also went to one of the closets and fetched a large....LARGe pair of earmuffs marked "D" for Demon. She helped get them on and patted his head before slipping down his back again, careful to keep a hand on him so he'd know where she was. She knew how these things went, Marble hadn't been so different when he first arrived. It was a lot to take in for something hotwired to survive, so much noise and confusion. Dulling the sound would be enough for him to focus on one conversation at a time, at least. He'd be able to follow better, maybe even talk to the others. Lauren often considered if the things she did for the Overgrown qualified her as being a good mother, but she worried that babies and giant destructive beasts might be a bit incomparable.

The girl's qualms struck empathy for Michael momentarily, but they faded quickly. His mood, like the flames that covered his form, became hot and tense. He struggled to keep quiet, to not strike out in his own rage. How dare she, to cry over her olympic career over her friends, her family. Thoughts of his wife and daughter boiled inside him as he lowered his head. He wished she was a nightmare he could tear apart, so that he'd never have to hear such ignorance again.

His augments closed and the room got a bit colder for a moment again. Steam hissed from his form, and he wasn't even sure how he'd combat this new issue. Leave her to her own misery, where she'd surely only cause more trouble, or continue his hopeless efforts to explain to her that her situation wasn't as simple as a lack of sponsorship from her favorite swimsuit brand. If she were a child he'd send her straight to her parents, hope for the best. Her parents were of no use to her at this point. Or, maybe...

"Tell me, Aqua. Your mother, would she rather you be an Olympian who died in an underground bunker? Would she like it if you died and then came back to life only to die again because you couldn't stand the thought of not having a career anymore? See the way I see it, if you learned that your dead daughter had been brought back to life, you would want her to do her best to stay alive, now wouldn't you? Your family, Aqua, is waiting for you. If you want to just believe you should have died then fine, I'm sure the bartend will be happy to oblige. I, on the other hand, have people waiting for me, and if you aren't going to help me get to them, you're probably better off dead as it is. So think about it, why don't you. Do you want to take your second chance at life and throw it away just because it wasn't what you asked for?"

@Kiroshiven

Lila's eyes lit up at the sight of a party, specifically for them. The best part?

Free. Booze.

She had never been much of a drinker, she needed to be sober for her line of work.. most of the time. But there was no way in hell Lyra would steal all the alcohol tonight. Especially since it was unlimited. Her sister grabbed her by the shoulder before they sat down at the bar, and looked her in the eyes. "Lila.. Don't do anything stupid. K?" Lila was busy looking past her sister at the bar, deciding what poison she would delight herself on. Her sister shook her again, making sure Lila was focused on her. "Seriously sis. I mean it. You do stupid things when you're drunk." Lila shrugged and smiled broadly, twirling around her sister to make a seat down at the bar.

So many choices.. She thought, pouring over the different drinks on the other side of the bar. Her sister sat down next to her and didn't order anything, but stared into the room of people chatting each-other up. " 'Ey bartender guy thing man person, right? I'd like one of these, yeah?" She pointed vaguely to one of the options on the drink list. He chuckled, setting the finished drink in front of her. Lila looked off to see the rest of the people in the room, with a twinkle in her eyes. By the time she returned to her drink, it was gone. Vanished.

She stared daggers into her perfectly content sister who was sitting next to an empty wine glass, whistling a short tune. Lila simply sighed, ordering another of the same thing. This time she got to it before Lyra, luckily, and managed to get a half of the drink empty before the thundering movement of Marble distracted her for a few seconds. By the time she returned to her drink, it was gone. Vanished.

"For fucksss'ake, sis." She said with a huge smile on her face. Lila flagged down the bartender and ordered another. She didn't get distracted at all this time, and finished it before Lyra could say anything. "Damm sstraeight, ly" She rested her head on the bar as she said this. I've barely even had anything.. She thought.

At around this time, maybe a lifetime later, not like Lila could tell anymore, someone came up. A big, scaly someone. "Hey, I'm Chloe, but the guys in charge called me Lamia. Fancy a chat?" Lila stared into her eyes for a moment, not quite comprehending what she heard. "Daaamn, puberty hit you like a truck." Lila said, giggling. Fascinated by the scales, she reached out and stroked a few at the base of Chloe's neck.

Around this time, a rather tall.. foxman, is the only way to describe him, showed up. "Pardon my intrusion, but would either of you ladies care to dance? After all, this is a party." He said, looking at both Lila and Lyra. Lila slid off of her stool, almost tripping over her feet in the attempt. Nine inches separated them, but that hardly mattered- what mattered was a good dance, after all. "HEY DJ!" Lila yelled at the wall. There was no DJ, only speakers lined up in the room and the piano on the side. "I CAN'T HARDLY DANCE TO DUBSTEP, NOW CAN I?" She asked, wrapping her arm around the waist of her new dance partner. When there was no change in the music, she started moving forwards anyway, bringing the foxman with her to the dance-floor.

Fish laughed with Ribbon at the cake jokes, but noticed the girl's discomfort upon bringing up Fish's powers. She waited until the teen had finished speaking, making appropriate "mmhmm"s and "huh"s along the way, then addressed the source of tension. "Honestly, the world records deal sounds exciting. I only see positive changes, and I haven't even had a chance to test out any of this new anatomy," she said, gesturing to her more obvious fins. "I've got full gills underneath this shirt, so breathing underwater is bound to be interesting. And the whole no-hair thing is convenient, but I was already bald from chemo, so that isn't too knew new." She shrugged her shoulders, then continued. "The best thing is just being able to breath." She took a breathe in and exhaled in a burst that was almost closer to a sigh of relief. Fish still savored every gulp of air that passed through her newly healed lungs. "Sometimes I felt like I was drowning on land, when I was sick. This is much, much better." She smiled. The air had the taste of gratitude and second chances: clean and bright, like cotton sheets drying on a clothesline, soaking up sunlight. A blank slate, and better rest.

Fish rolled her eyes upon hearing the fox-man's cry for fun, ignoring it as a stunt for attention. "But anyway, what's your augmentation? It's not as obvious as the guy in the mechanical suit, or Lauren's spine contraption, but I'm guessing it has to do with your new name and hair accessories," she said, bringing the conversation back to Ribbon.

Ribbon

Ribbon was relieved as Fish didn't seem to be bothered by her bringing up her new anatomy, infact she seemed to like it. She listened as she spoke, understanding why when she mentioned chemo and being happy she could breathe. She must've been one of the group that were severely sick when they were shot, in her case it sounded like lung cancer. Well, if she was happy then Ribbon was happy she didn't take her compliment the wrong way. "
The breathing underwater definetely sounds pretty cool. And I'm glad you like your new body, I was kinda worried I struck a nerve when I mentioned it." She told her, glancing over as the fox..man..thing..burst in whining about the rest needing to lighten up.

While Ribbon agreed entirely, not everyone coped as well as she and apparently Fish did, and shouting at everyone to lighten up certainly wasn't the best way to get a point across. Though, she didn't say anything, she instead focused on what Fish had asked her. Which was about her augments. "
How'd ya guess?" She told her jokingly, laughing softly. "But, yeah, they do. These ribbons are actually like bladed whips. They're pretty cool. Though, they don't work without the gloves. Something about electromagnetic pulses and other junk I don't quite understand." She explained.

"
Kinda cool really, plus they look almost like what I usually wear, so even better. I fiddled around with them a bit earlier, a bit hard to control but I think I'll get it down eventually." She further explained. "Oh! And I got this, it's some kinda cellphone with a tazer built in. It's pretty neat." She added, fishing her new phone out of her dress pocket. "It's pretty cool, though obviously I haven't used it or tested it yet. Pretty straight forward, point, press button on the side, and zap! Guess they plan on me being some kinda stealth operative or something."

If she had said all of this at any point of time to anyone else before now, they'd probably think she was crazy and have her committed. But of course, she was currently talking to a Fish-woman beside two Overgrown behemoths, and everything she was saying was true. She'd of thought part of what she was saying was crazy herself if she weren't currently in this base.

Fox grinned as one of the twins decided to go with the flow of it all. She was obviously drunk, but that was the point. It was a party. However, she started shouting about a DJ and he merely chuckled. She slid her arm around his waist and her had to quickly wrap his tails together. Can't afford to poison such a lovely young lady. He grinned as she said that they couldn't dance to dubstep. "Allow me then." He quickly pulled out his pipe. It looked just like one you'd see from ancient Japan and it fit based off the clothes he was wearing. The pipe ignited and he took in a small puff before exhaling out. The smoke that he exhaled shimmered with the lights and as he took in the smell of his smoke, he started to focus. Then his power kicked in and the world began to fade into the hallucinations.

In second the club was gone and he was alone with his dance partner. The pounding bass and sounds were gone as well. They were now standing atop a plateau. The sun was just starting to rise and the world seemed at peace. Birds flew around and beneath the plateau was a jungle of lush green trees that hadn't existed for years. The sound of an orchestra began to play and dance upon the air as he took his partner's hand. "The name's Fox. And you are?" He twirled the girl before pulling her a bit closer and started leading her in a waltz. He felt her heat against him as he looked down at her. Nine inches wasn't much, but it was still enough. He knew the others couldn't see the world that he'd made, but she would.

@SniperBus

Aqua looked up. "My family." She smirked. They supported her and had loved her, but what would they think now that she was just some average girl with a freaky power to control water. Her mother had mentioned once that they hated the idea of war and what the Soviets and Chinese had done to their people. How could they turn humans into monsters? That's what she was now: a monster. But she did have her little brother. He looked up to her and even if she was a freak, maybe just maybe, he'd still support her. "Thanks Ignis." She barely managed to say the words. She knew it was a fool's dream to hold onto a hope that her brother wouldn't be scared of her, but that would be the only thing to stop her from dying.

She watched as two people walked out onto the dance floor, surrounded in a smoke a miraculous colors. The two started to dance as if they were in their own world, the music was obviously not one they could dance that way to. "What do you think is up with those two?" Aqua looked to Ignus for a response as she continued to watch the two moving about the dance floor.

Alyssa/Vex

A brief knocking at the door, some mumbled talking.. not much was decipherable, but she heard the words "ci9", "newbies", and "party".

"I don't have time to deal with their shit! Remember the water incident in the CI4 party?! And then there was a similar incident in the CI8 party- I'm surprised I'm not banned from these damn things yet!" She yelled through the door, continuing on her carefully assembled project.

"Whatever...'s your boat" Was all she could hear from the other side of the door, and then the sound of a large group of footsteps sounded just outside her door, moving towards the large room used for welcoming parties. Vex flicked her goggles back on over her eyes, bringing up a magnifying glass to look at the circuitry within the device. Without further notice, she stabbed into it with surprising precision, bringing back out a scorched, now dead, bird. "How the hell did you even..?" Vex was done. She pushed her chair away from the desk, leaving the sensitive wiring where it was. It could wait to be fixed for another day. Vex walked to her dresser, pulled off the shirt from on top of it, and put it on as she walked to the door. It was long sleeved, and almost entirely covered her augment. The augment was still visible on her hand and the area around her collarbone, but that was something she simply couldn't fix.

Well, that wasn't true. She could've not gotten shot. Similarly, she could've killed herself the moment she got here like the fellow at the CI8 party. That was beside the point, though. Vex pulled the massive rectangular prism she called a friend from the side of the door as she opened it. Slinging the box over her shoulder so it was on her back, she was pounded by the bass line of the song booming through the hallway.

I bet those newbies can't even bring their weapons to the party. Heh. Vex walked down the long hallway to the room the party was being held in and slipped in, ready to insert herself into conversation. It couldn't be too bad to know the people you're forced to work with, after all.

Lila/Lurid

Before she knew it, she was feeling hazy. The world faded around her, and all that remained was a gentle grassy plateau with beautiful music in the background. Her world spun for a moment and suddenly she was being led through the steps of a waltz. She didn't want to spoil his moment, so she didn't speak up until he asked a question. "The name's Fox. And you are?"

Lila laughed for a moment, stumbling through several parts of the dance. "I'm drunk, foxman. Pl'sure all t'same. Forgetting she was moving, she attempted a curtsy, only to stumble backwards and hit him in the chest with her head. "Mm.. seems w'r in t'same boat, foxman, b'in shot n'll". She stepped forwards again, having regained her balance. She offered him her hand once more. "May'i 've t's dance?" Lila said, chuckling.

you do stupid shit when you're drunk.

"Maybe using my power wasn't the best decision." Fox merely chuckled as he pulled her close. "And last I checked, drunk isn't a name." Keeping his tails away from the girl was difficult. As he thought about it he wondered if he could stop the secretion of the poison, much like controlling the hallucinations. He focused on that with his eyes closed as he continued to move along the floor holding this stranger upright so she didn't hit the floor. It wasn't easy, but after a few minutes he could feel that he wasn't secreting the poisons anymore. "That'll take some getting used to." With that, he opened his eyes and let his tails move freely. Occasionally brushing against his partner in a playful manner. He was going to enjoy himself, within reason of course. Once again, he spun the girl with a smile before dipping her low with the end of the song. "Twas a lovely dance." He held her there as the illusion faded and once again they were at the party.

@SniperBus

Fish nodded as Ribbon described the functions of her augments and new weapon, then spoke when the girl had finished. "That does sound useful. And speaking of testing things out, I'm hoping that'll be on the agenda for tomorrow. Well, at least for the members who won't be hung-over. But, I mean, if they can do this to us," Fish gestured at her body and Ribbon's bows, "then curing a hangover is child's play to them." She paused, pondering what she knew about alcohol's effects on the body. "Huh, I just had a thought. There's probably at least one person in here who's immune to booze." Laughing, she explained herself. "Think about it: if there's someone in here who's got poison powers, then it would make sense if they were unaffected by other toxins, like alcohol." She ran her hand along her bald head. "And, well, the overgrown are so big it'd pretty much be impossible to get 'em drunk." She chuckled, fondly looking over at Marble and Demon. She then returned to the previous topic. "I just hope like hell that they don't film a cheesy training montage of us."

@Lungfish

Ribbon

Ribbon nodded and listened, laughing where appropriate, as Fish spoke. "
Yeah, I hope training is tommorrow too. It'll be cool to figure out how to use these things good." She replied on the topic of training. She thought for a minute on the topic of someone controlling poison, while she didn't immediately see any green glowing people it was entirely possible. "Ooh, I wonder if anyone here can, control poison that is. That'd be pretty useful." She commented before turning to the Overgrowns, imagining a giant barrel of booze as big as the room for them.

She giggled at the sight she imagined before turning back to Fish, "
Yeaah. At-least we don't have to worry about the big guys getting drunk. Though, could you imagine how much booze they'd have to drink? The bottle would be as big as this room." She told her. "Training montage might actually be fun. It'd be cool to watch later and see where you messed up for yourself I guess." She told her, shrugging. "Though, what I'm curious to see, is how fast you can swim. I bet you can swim faster than anyone here now." She added

She dragged her fingers across every groove of her glass, almost certain that no amount of Bourbon would be able to relax the tension she felt sitting in that room. It crawled from the small of her back up to her neck. It twitched in the tips of her fingers. It wouldn't leave her alone. She had never dreamed of shit like this even being possible, since she had her own personal problems to bother herself with. Her hands were were bare, but she could still feel the bandages from her last bare-knuckle fight in the cage. She replayed the memory of her last win before all of this happened.

Beads of sweat rolled off of the ends of her wild hair as the referee grabbed her hand and lifted it high in the air. Her chest heaved at an uneven pace as she coughed and caught her breath. She couldn't hear anything. Not the swearing of the people who had lost their bets. Not the cheering of the perverts who came to watch the women fight. Not even the ear-splitting bell. All she could hear was the sound of her mother laughing ecstatically at the end of her treatment. The envelope was now in her clammy hands and she was excited to run home and place the bet money in her mother's hands and lie about how she earned it. She busted through the doors of the warehouse, the cool, night air seeming to welcome her like the gates of heaven, the sweat on her face turning cold.

Bang.

She blacked out then. All she could remember was the blood filling the cracks in the pavement as she fell forward. Waking up was worse than being shot. Waking up in a box, surrounded by the coldness and silence of the deceased; Her bare feet slamming against the icy floors of the morgue in a panic as she escaped the hellish maze of a place; discovering that her family moved on without her. She still couldn't believe it. She refused to. I need to get home, she told herself over and over again. I need to help Mama. She turned the thought in a head over and over like a coin between her fingertips, the words resonating off of the walls of her mind disturbingly. It was inevitably too late.

Her stubborn heart still believed that there was a chance. Kit was not her name.

She reserved a page in her journal to write her Pre-Bullet name repeatedly, wanting to make it impossible for her to forget. Luckily, her family knew to bury in with her. Maybe if she became lost in this nightmarish new life that was forced on her, she could look back on her own hand-writing and see a reflection of her former self.

Barbara Penn McCoy. Barbara Penn McCoy. Barbara Penn McCoy.

Though she was disgusted with the name "Barbara", she had never been more grateful to see it. She missed those years the kids in school used to pick on her and call her "Barbie" and "Barbie Girl". She hated every last one of those little shits, but seeing the way things fabulously panned out for her, she'd rather be the little Louisianian girl in elementary school than what she was now.

Her elbows propped on the table as her sterling eyes were still lost in the distorted reflection of sanity, she quickly snapped back to reality. The simple but eerie smell of vomit and more vomit still whispered in the air faintly and people were still laughing and drinking. There was a fucking lady dancing with a fox, for crying out loud. Then there was Penny... or "Kit", sitting at the the booth with her journal and bourbon like a divorced housewife. She downed the rest of her glass and set in on the counter. She picked up her pencil and opened her journal, writing the date in the top right corner of her page. She wrote some things down in French, hoping that no one there was able to read the language, just in case if a poor unfortunate soul decided to take her journal and tried to read it. She closed the small, leather book and glanced around the room, avoiding locking eyes with anyone. Her eyes scanning the room, she was able to she the irony of this scene. A majority of everyone seemed happy and relaxed. But where was the fear? Where was the realization that everything that they had known had been ripped away from them? Maybe it was just her. Even though she had a calm demeanor, she couldn't remember the last time that she was wasn't afraid of something. There was always fear of losing her house, losing her mother, or losing her life in a fight. Here, however, she didn't have to worry about those things. They were all now in the past and out of her reach.

She stood up from the booth, grabbing her journal and looked for something else to do that didn't involve sitting alone and thinking of her history at home.

Aurora didn't really enjoy the fact that they were being forced to interact with each other and it was apparent that most of the rest of the so called 'team' was alright with it. People were already drunk, which she had expected, but it did seem pretty distasteful for people to be drunk at what she considered a work party.

Yet, she had only read about work parties in books and never attended.

When the winged woman approached her, it was easily seen that the blonde shrunk away from the attention, but did not run away from it. As much as she wished to. Though she debated if she wanted to shake Feather's hand, but decided that not shaking her hand would be extremely rude and most likely would cause some sort of adverse reaction from her.

So, she took her hand in her own and then gave one firm shake as she spoke, "Aurora, but I'm sure to get a nickname soon enough it seems. Or code name would be more appropriate for such a situation as this." She ran her tongue over the top row of her teeth and then continued. "So you know what you can do right?"

Vex/Alyssa

Vex looked around the room for something to do, someone to piss off with useless theory. Eventually she started scanning the booths, and now standing at one, she saw her target. Perfect. Vex started walking towards her, flashing a brief smile as she passed the drunken Lila on the dance-floor. "Be careful, he might eat you." She said while walking by. Vex moved through the rest of the people on the dance-floor, feeling crushed between them. Her breathing was heavy until she made it to the end, and even by then, she was clearly shaken. Vex motioned towards the open booth with one hand, offering her other hand for the newcomer to shake. "Alyssa, pleased to meet your acquaintance. You're new here, yeah? Let's sit in the booth- I have no intention of clawing my way through that mess again." She gestured vaguely to the dance-floor, covered with dancing operatives. She sat down, looking up at the newcomer.

Maybe she isn't insane, like everyone else here. Heh. That'd be a sight. Vex took the heavy metal box off her should, setting it down on the table with a distinct thunk, and the table started sagging beneath the weight of the behemoth box.

Lurid/Lila

A beautiful, flowing dance. Despite her drunken stupor, even Lila could see the elegant grace behind the careful movements. Fk'n ffoxmin drug'n me..

"And last I checked, drunk isn't a name." Lila shook her head fervently, "Who as'd yu, foxmin?" Lila continued to stumble through the dance, rarely ever getting a step right. "What're yu befor all t's, foxmin?" She asked, looking straight up at the man. The fantasy world disappeared around them, and the man dipped her low, the dance complete. S'k bastard, drug'n'ice lady at a party..

Rook had decided he didn't like Feather, and he had made that decision quite quickly, and without any sort of disagreement from the many many consciences he possessed simultaneously. It was a unanimous decision. His mood much more grumpy than it was before he had to find a way to soothe himself. He started towards the bar but there was someone stepping away the moment he was stepping forward. A girl. Not Feather, oh thank god not that girl. No this girl was different. Nothing too off, like Hayden, but her eyes were filled with that same dread and horror he'd seen on so many faces this evening. She looked like she'd just watched her family get shot in the head one by one, then again in reality it was probably just the other way around. He wasn't sure whether to approach her or avoid her, with a little book in one hand and bourbon in the other. How did he know it was bourbon? He left those thoughts for later. She was probably lonely, or at least Rook hoped she was lonely, because he was gonna try anyway.

He approached slowly, his tail grinding into the floor in a subconscious new habit of his. "Preparing a lovely memoir of our time here in Super-Hero Factory Number 9, or just a fan of scribbling dicks in your spare time? I'd really be quite interested in both." Rook was all too fond of his own humor and he almost laughed at his own jokes, but he managed to keep the giggles down for now. He'd always used humor in tense situations, mostly because he was probably one of the few people that could. He was just that kind of person. While everyone else was crying, he was making fun of their puffy red eyes. Such was his nature. The bone-covered comedian extended his hand. "John, or, Rook. Rook is fine actually, I kinda like it. It makes me sound so dangerous."

Michael smiled when Aqua seemed to figure her own problem out for herself. It was nice to finally be in the company of someone who wasn't crying or in a state of panic. He needed more people to be calm around him so that he could be calm. Then of course if he lost his cool he'd worry about destroying a few city blocks, but hopefully he wasn't that good at what he did.

At the mention of the only people on the dance floor Michael twisted his head and shrugged. "They seem to be the only ones who've taken this night and made the most of it I guess, so kudos to them. Though it looks like the girl went above and beyond the call of duty." he pointed out, noticing that while the man was quite elegantly dancing, the girl was more....ragdolling in alignment with him. It was certainly a sight to behold at least. Michael looked to the other side of the room and noticed the two massive comrades of theirs, stacking blocks together like kindergartners. "I still find it interesting that the two little "kids" in this room are the ones that will kill you the fastest." he mentioned, sipping on his mojito as he watched the two. They were really quite impressive, for a human body to withstand that level of change and still come out relatively functional was definitely proof that this Doctor knew what he was doing. He knew plenty of people would kill the man in cold blood if he showed up unguarded, but Michael mostly just wanted to ask him how he pulled it off.

3 drinks in and there she went off with some fox boy. Lyra sighed and leaned back on the counter, rolling her head around to notice that her twin had left some poor snake girl behind. She gave a little wave and took a fat gulp of her vodka. "Hi, I'm the one in charge of keeping that one alive. Name's Lyra, they call me Saint. Don't know why, well I have ideas but that doesn't mean they make sense." she mused, effectively conversing with the stranger while keeping her eyes planted on her sister. The girl seemed to be high on life with that Fox kid, but he didn't seem too evil, so he was allowed to live for the time being.

She tried to let her sister go and focus on the girl in front of her. "So, what'd you do before shit went down? Sell drugs? Make a variety of snake-related puns? Upset the Serpent God Quetzalcoatl? Work with me here hot stuff you're not giving me much to go off of." she ranted, sliding back on the counter gently as the alcohol had started to infect her own mind as well, but maybe not as badly as it was affecting her sister's. The armor was surprisingly comfortable and felt like clothes, but it still felt weird to set her arm down and here the clang of metal. She'd have to get used to that.

Kit was almost alarmed by the sudden attention that came her way. The last time anyone was friendly to her, they were ordering chili fries and staring down her shirt at the same time. She didn't feel threatened by the woman much, but she was more worried about her lack of social skill. Where she was from everyone knew each other. Everyone knew her as the quiet one. She shook her hand, strong and firm the way her grandfather taught her to shake hands.

"Shaking with a limp wrist is an insult, Penny." he'd warn her in French.

"Penny. The pleasure is mine." she responded. In spite of her timidness, her voice was low and calm like a gentle breeze.She had a very faint Southern accent, which she struggled with trying to hide for quite some time now. The sound of the box slamming against the surface of the counter nearly made her leap out of her skin. It clearly had as little to with her as her journal had nothing to do with anyone else, but she was curious as to why she was carrying around such a heavy thing. At the midst of her questions, she was the alerted by the presence of someone new. She quickly turned her head, looking over her shoulder at the man, her gray eyes widened slightly as if she had been startled. She took a brief moment to process what he had said. A small divot formed in her cheek as she smiled, unable to help snickering at his remark.

"Scribbling dicks, huh? I don't know if anyone's ever asked me a question like that a day in my life." she asked, her eyes softening as she allowed herself to laugh for once since she's been here. One thing that she did manage to find pleasure in here was humor. The drunk girl with the Fox man did the trick a short moment. Even being as quiet as she was, she had a habit of laughing at unfitting moments. If she was able to see her brother Nick at her own funeral, she'd probably be laughing at the funny sounds and ugly faces he made when he cried... you know, instead of questioning why she was still alive and in a casket. She left his question unanswered, however.

She politely shook his hand, careful to keep her grandfather's advice in mind. "I'm Penny... Or Kit, I guess." Her name obviously didn't seem as dangerous as his. "It's nice to meet you, Rook."

Margaret had thanked the bartender when the drinks were placed back into her hands, full to the rim before watching the foxman speak with the girls beside her. Turning on her bare heels again, the doctor returned to the piano and chuckled a little to Vampire's attempt to play. "Wanted to check if the Bullet gave you other talents, huh?" she asked curiously, holding out the glass of wine for Vampire to take.

About to settle back down on her seat, Margaret frowned to the site of what appeared to be the woman who was with the foxman appearing a little delusional, holding up a waiting finger to Vampire. "One second..." she cooed, standing up as she hurried towards the duo with her hands up in front of her to show she meant no harm. "Miss...are you alright?"

Feather smiled at the girl as she seemed so timid about this. This girl wasn't very sociable either, but she was at least trying with her. Simply nodding after her introduction, Feather smiled. "Whether you get a code name or not, Aurora is nice. My code name, which I gave you earlier, is basically my real name. It's Heather." She chuckled as she thought about her rhyming name. "I have a general idea what I can do." Feather plucked one of the feathers out of her wing it stung a bit, but within seconds it was growing again. She offered the metallic feather to her new comrade. "Apparently my wings are lined with metal feather blades. I can use the wings to fly and fight. But other than that, I really don't know." Feather smirked as she watched Rook go across the room. She wanted to mess with him, just a little bit, for being such a pain, but decided against it. "What about you Aurora? You don't know what you can do?"

@IthacaAlexandria

Aqua chuckled. "Yeah, the girl seems to be a pretty bad lightweight, and that's coming from me." She snickered to herself as she felt herself sobering up. The constant flow of water over and through her system seemed to help her purge it a lot faster than most. She was glad for this change if anything. "Guess they're gonna run us through a gauntlet tomorrow. Find out the limits of what we can do." She sighed when Ignus started mentioning the goliaths over in the corner. "Yeah, it's crazy that those guys have the greatest physical abilities, but no mental powers from the looks of it. That one even built a wall to stay safe inside. That's a bit odd." Aqua wanted to do something besides sitting around, but dancing wasn't an option. She was about as coordinated with dancing as the drunk girl on the floor. "I want to go swimming." Aqua sighed as she though about just flooding the room to do just what she wanted.

@TheLoneRook

Fox grinned as she she muttered some stupid response. "I asked what your name was after politely introducing myself. I would like to know your name as well, even if it's just your code name, like I gave." He smiled as he stood back up and kept her stable with one arm. Her question was one he wasn't wanting to answer. Most people looked at him different when he mentioned his story. They would pity him and treat him nicely and he didn't want that. He wanted to just be treated normally. A shadow fell over his face, but was quickly replaced with his smile once again. "I was a sickly man that went by Kirito. I lived in hospitals because I had an incredibly weak immune system. However, I never stopped having fun, because life is too precious to waste brooding over the little things." Fox decided to leave out the part about being diagnosed with three terminal illnesses at the same time on the basis of need to know.

When another woman approached, Fox merely smiled. "She's just a bit drunk is all. I'm going to have her sister over there help me get her to her bed. Don't need her causing any trouble now." He smiled at this woman and his gold eyes shone. Fox's tails swayed as he nodded to her. "And allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kirito, but I go by Fox now. My ability involves hallucinations of all kinds." He smiled before putting his arm around his dance partner's waist. "And this lovely tart here is too drunk to introduce herself it seems."
