Fantasy The Experiment

Ari also kept telling her that she was fine, but she didn't trust her until she had examined the dangerous spots without finding anything. She smiled at Ari. "Good. It seems that I didn't bite you." She spun around when she felt somone knocking on her head and saw Lucas. She looked up and saw a piece of fabric hanging down from her head. Wondering what it was she took it of her head, realizing it was bigger than exepted. She must have looked silly with that lying on her head. She looked questioning at Lucas when she noticed that a piece of his shirt was missing. She looked back at the ex-shirt piece and noticed that it was blood on it and started to search after a wound on her head with her fingers. "What happened?" She found a bumb covered in dried blood.

"You bumped into the table with your head. You knocked yourself completely unconscious. I had to think fast so I ripped a part of my shirt to stop the bleeding... I'm sorry if it looks dumb..." Lucas said as he rubbed the back of his head, and turned to Ari and smiled to her, as he realized he had jumped in front of her on instinct. He could feel his cheek warm up a bit, as he looked down to the floor slightly embarrassed, to put matters to worse his heart raced so quickly on the thought of Ari getting injured... What was going on with his chest?

Ari's face was flushed. She looked at him, his face was looking at the floor. She saw him staring at his chest. She giggled, her face still red. He looked really confused, scowling at his heart. She felt her heart skip a beat as she stared at him. She quickly looked away, her hand covering her mouth. She tried not to say anything, because otherwise she would end up stuttering again.

Sam woke with a start, having dreams about the experiments. He silently scolded himself for being so were less as too fall asleep then, but it did feel refreshing. He turned back to his human form and wandered down stairs. He found Lucas, Ari, and Sasha in the kitchen. "Hi" he said opening the pantry. It was mostly full of spices and dry foods or mixes. 'Maybe being the cook here wouldn't be so bad. It gives me a purpose here, at least.' He thought to himself. Then a thought occurred to him. "Hey Lucas, tigers like water right? I found a lake earlier if you want me to show you later." He then closed the pantry and actually looked at the people here. He couldn't help but notice the awkward tension in the air. "You know, when ever you want."

"F- Food sounds great!" Lucas stuttered as he patted Sam on the shoulder, it was great that Sam came down to make him think of something else. Especially since he was so confused, his heart racing... Yeah, it was better not to think about that right now. It was just... he had never been this worried for a person before... what was this new found feeling? His ears, tail and his fangs showed up on the thought of water, his inner tiger almost jumped out of him. "You found a lake?! You have to show me! Hey, Ari and Sasha, we can all take a trip to the lake later! Sam will show us where it is!" Lucas exclaimed happily, almost making a small dance around in the kitchen on the thought of a large open lake, if he got to happy he would transform into a tiger completely.

Ari laughed. She smiled at him. "Lake sounds fun." Ari said. Her cheeks were still a bit pink. She hoped this place came with clothes because she didn't have a swimsuit. She continued looking at Lucas, his tail and ears showing. She thought that it was adorable how he looked like a little kid in a candy store. She thought of food. "Wasn't there steak earlier?" She asked.

"I… I can throw something together, but Ari is right" Sam said. "I'm not even that hungry. I just came to check out some options. We might have a problem, though. Do you think we might run out of food? I doubt they will send someone in to restock it in the middle of the night like Sant on Christmas. God, it's been forever since I've thought about holidays. What season is it? What day? So much we still don't know…". He stopped before he became to depressing. "I'll show you the lake tomorrow, ok?"

"I think I heard some bunnies or something else we might hunt around here, but thinking of how we are their 'precious test subjects' we are probably provided with either hunt options or food. I don't think we need to be worried, but I don't think we'll get something in the middle of the night..." Lucas answered honestly, as the word 'Lake' showed up again and his tail began wagging back and forth uncontrollably, as he kept dancing a little bit. "I can eat a raw steak! I'm a bit hungry..." Lucas said, as his stomach let out a loud growl. He was a tiger, they needed to eat a lot, and him being hungry wasn't his fault. He blushed at how his stomach growled, and looked away. Of course it had to growl right there in front of everyone...

"Have you tried a warm stake that's still raw?" Sam asked. "It really good, though I'm worried I like it because it's like a fresh kill." He shook his head as that thought crept up again. He really needed to stop some of his habits, and soon! He was worried he was going to creep everyone out. Lucas was right about the food, at least. That was reassuring.

Ari smiled at him. "I like mine cooked. But if you have milk, it's mine." Ari said. She smiled and looked at the fridge and opened the door. She grabbed the carton of milk. She got herself a glass and poured as much as she could inside the glass. She put the milk on the counter and proceeded to down the glass she had poured.

"I've never tried it before... but I prefer mine completely raw, I'm not really that much into hunting," Lucas said as he grabbed a piece of raw meat and ate it, in his almost complete human form as his fangs dug into the piece of raw meat merciless. He looked over to Ari to see her drink the full glass of milk in one go, and chuckled at her cat-like behavior. "Just like a kitty," Lucas said with a smile and gently petted her head, as it seemed he had gained a habit of petting Ari's head.

Ari's face grew red. Her ears poked tough as he patted her head. She flushed even darker, if that was possible. She tried saying something, her tongue deciding something different. It ended up sounding something like "Smygh....". She looked mortified, her heart nearly jumping out of her chest.

Lucas finished his steak and looked over to where he thought he heard Ari say: "Smygh," what was smygh? Or what was it supposed to be? A little confused he looked over to her completely flustered face, as he felt his heart race a bit when he looked at her, and quickly looked a bit away, his heartbeat once again increasing. "W- What's smygh?" Lucas asked her, slightly looking at her from the corner of his eye.

Ari looked at him, mortified. "I-I-I-I-I-." Ari said. Her face was steaming while her mouth was attempting to form words. She tried a couple more times before putting her head in her hands. She had given up on trying to form words in front of him. She muttered something along the lines of "Stupid mouth.", her head still in her hands.

"You...?" Lucas started as he felt confused for what she was trying to tell him, and did not catch her muttering as her hands were blocking most of the sound. His heart was still racing and he reached out his hand once again, petting Ari on the head understanding that she would have difficulties with words as they had been far away from any social life for quite some time, even though he did not know how long Ari had been in this experiment. "Don't try too hard. I'm not going anywhere, so you got plenty of time to tell me," Lucas said to her, as he realized that sounded definitely as another cheeky line. "T- there's a fence here after all! A- And guards! I- I can't get anywhere r- right now!" Lucas quickly added, trying to save himself from complete embarrassment. Why did I say that? It was as if my mouth spoke on its own, without my brain to check through it first...

Ari poked her head up. She laughed, feeling his hand on her head. She flushed again. "I was trying to say that m mouth is failing in producing words." Ari said, though her laughter. She thought his cheesy line was funny. She got the urge to poke his nose, so she did. She regretted it immediately afterwards, her face flushing again.

Sam felt awkward just standing there while they did whatever it was they're doing. He instead snuck towards the back door and ran into the forest. It was peaceful at night and he morphed into the wolf. He wandered to the lake just to make sure he knew where he was going. He then wanted around more and found the fence and guards. Maybe they could study the patterns they took for shifts? Find a flaw? Sam really just wanted out.

Alex watched Sam walk out. Softly, he flew over to Sam, perching on a nearby tree. He shifted, dropping down, and tapping Sam on the shoulder. "Hey, you got a moment? I've been around the complex. I can tell you where we are." He hoped Sam would listen. Then one of them could tell Lucas. He didn't really like Lucas, but there wasn't much he could do. Alex kinda liked this place, even if it was guarded. He could fly, and that's what mattered to him.

(Shog, I give you permission to have Alex tell him about the forest they live in, and the boundaries. It's 3-4 miles around with radar and armed guards. The place, overall, is kinda like a wildlife sanctuary, but with a house. At least, that's what Alex knows.)

With the towel she had snatched from the linen closet, the doe eyed teen dried her self thoroughly(especially her new ears). She squeezed all that she could from here hair and set to finding a way to wrap her self in the sheet to make a dress, of sorts. It certainly wouldn't be the most flattering, but she doubted that there would be anything to that effect in the whole house, anyway. She folded a part of it down, and held the seam u to her collar bone, wrapping and twisting the ends to effectively make a crude halter dress out of the cheap light weight fabric. making sure it wouldn't just fall right off, she went to the fogged mirror and wiped it with the towel.

Looking in, she didn't even recognize the girl in the mirror. How long had it been since she had a hold of a mirror? Two, maybe three years now? The last year was possibly the worst, though she got her own space, and was rarely disturbed, she had to sacrifice a piece of herself to establish that privacy. She had been trapped in a small white room. No shelves. No decorations. No Windows. Just white. How dark she felt against it, how exposed and barren she felt in that room, with no where to hide of feel safe. Her only comfort being that, in some tiny way, she had control of her own body.

She knew that they were sedating the others as she had heard the doctors mention ketamine a handful of times, and knew it was a highly effective tranquilizer usually used for animals. She had become fearful of them using it on her because it was a highly addictive drug, and most of all she feared that end for her. She became compliant, if they wanted her blood she offered her arm, if the wanted her to do jumping jacks, she did them with enthusiasm. In her spare time in that little white cell, she did quite a bit of cardio work outs and what she could remember of the yoga her dance instructor had taught her.

If she couldn't control her surroundings, then she would control her mind and body. Sadly, the lack of nutrition caused her quite a bit of muscle loss. They pumped her full of vitamins and minerals so her body never shut down, but it wasn't enough to feed the exercise, especially not given her previous strict vegetarian diet. She shuddered at the thought of how much she would have physically lost had she not been active the past year.

With a deep sigh, she faced that girl in the mirror, "Tori, what are ya gonna to do? Stuck in this new mad house..." She stood up right, and placed her hand on the mirror. After a silent moment with her self, she finally went to the door, unlocked it, and left. Down the hall, she quietly, carefully investigated the rooms. The room the others had been in had two twin beds, but it was now untended. she continued down the hall, just to see how many rooms were there, and the lay out of the building. She found at least seven full sized rooms at varying sizes. Tucked away at the end of the hall was a small stair case, Tori presumed it had been built as a servant stair, meaning it should lead up to servnats' quarters, as old houses like this were often built. She pressed on to explore that piece of the house.

Up the narrow, steep wooden stairs, she noticed something quite unusual: dust. It seemed almost as if this part of the house had been forgotten, while the rest of the house had obviously been staged for new 'guests'.

How could they have forgotten the lay out to their own prison?

She came to a small clearing where the ceiling hung low, and a half door stopped her. She tentatively reached for the door, afraid of what may be behind the tiny door.

Maybe it was a trap for someone too nosy, and the dust was a tell tale of sorts? foot prints meant they caught someone...

She stood there, her hand on the door, still debating whether or not to turn her wrist and see what, or possibly who, was hiding in the servant's quarters.

Sasha was very exited. It was quite obvious was what going on between Lucas and Ari. And. She. Loved. It. Finally some positive feelings around her! Finally some love! And they were a good pair, both cats-one big one small but still both cats- and they looked so cute when they were standing in the kitchen, looking at eachother, blushing, trying to talk, blush a bit more... She tried not to smile like a idiot when she realised that she should probably leave them alone, like Sam did.

"Uhm...I should probably...go and...wash my wound of, yes! I have to go wash it! She started to go as normal as she could up the stairs, while she wanted to jump, dance and run back to them and press their shy faces togheter. When she came up on the second floor she started to sing the music of a song she remembered. She had forgotten the lyrics though, but she thought that the title was "Candy".

She almost jumped in to a girl she didn't recognise.

"Hello, I'm Sasha! Are you new, 'cause I haven't seen you before? Oh, and yeah, sorry that I almost bumped into you like that." She was to happy to be shy.

Lucas turned over to Ari as she poked his nose, his face was still a bit red from his cheesy line from earlier, but he might have managed to save it a little bit at the very least. It became more awkward when Sasha decided to quickly take her leave, for "cleaning" her wounds, but honestly Lucas had no idea what that girl was thinking. At the very least it seemed as she had cheered up, and that was a good sign. Sam had taken his leave quickly too, checking the perimeter or simply taking a walk. "D- Do I have something on my f- face?" Lucas asked Ari, as she had poked his nose, and looked at her. Her face redder than his own, why was it so awkward when he was together with Ari? Why did his heart beat so quickly?

"N-n-n-no." Ari said. 'How am I going to explain this?!' Ari thought in dismay. She sighed and flopped her head in her hands again. She hated embarrassing herself, then again, when she tried to pull herself out it just embarrassed her even more. 'What is it about him that makes him so different. Why only around him?' Ari thought.

"This is weird... Why is my heart and head so confused around her... It's only her after all... it's just... It's not only... the only reason I'm acting like this is because it is her...." Lucas looked out the window, it was getting very late and there was no visible lights whatsoever. It seemed as the scientists had not bothered by making either moon or stars on the sky, but it was great to sit here alone with Ari nevertheless. Maybe someone else knew why he was feeling this way, maybe he could ask Sasha for some advice later, on what to do. No, he should figure it out on his own. Or... "I- It's getting late... M- Maybe we should get some rest for the trip to the lake tomorrow?" Lucas suggested, hoping to ease off some of the tension in the air, but most of the tension was inside his chest.

Ari looked up at him, her cheeks still a bit pink. "Y-yeah. Maybe we should." Ari said. She looked off to the side, her face growing red. She wondered why she always acted this way around him. She had been in isolation for years but she just stopped talking. She just sat there, knowing nothing was in store for her. Well, that was until she was put in here.

"I- I'll walk you to your room," Lucas said as he knew the walk over to Ari's room was short, but for some reason he wished to stay by her side for as long as possible, the longer the better. Not only to make sure she was okay, but because there was a large part of him which didn't want to leave her alone. He hated to admit it, but... maybe this one particular experiment wasn't as bad, at the very least he got to meet Ari and the rest, and he was very happy that he did get to meet them.
