Fantasy The Experiment

Ari felt his heart rate increase under his thick fur. She smiled to herself and paused for a second. 'Wait a minute. Increased heart rate.... flushed face.... could it be?' She though to herself. She felt his large breaths moving her hair around as she though about this. Maybe he did like her. Then she leaned back a bit to look at his face.

Lucas was confused and panicking in his head, as his eyes suddenly met Ari's eyes. He quickly moved his flustered face away from hers and tried to find words, to collect his thoughts, but it seemed as they were all over the place, refusing to do what he wanted them to.

Ari looked at his face. She smiled a bit though the redness of her cheeks. She poked his nose before her face began to burn again and she buried her head back in the fur on his chest. She mumbled something that got lost in his fur. She sighed heavily, cursing her stupid shyness before returning to Lucas' piercing gaze.

Lucas looked at Ari, she was being unbelievable cute! No, no more time. He had to do it now, improvise now that their gazes were met. "Ari..."Lucas started as he took a deep breath scared to tell her, but more scared what would happen if he didn't. "I... I like you,"Lucas muttered out, not able to take his gaze off Ari for one second as his heart reached max speed, and it felt as a ton was lifted off his shoulder. He said it! He did it! Now... what would he do if she didn't think the same? No, good thoughts happy thoughts... no bad ones... no bad ones...

Ari's face burned as she looked at him. "I-I like you to." She said. She reached up and kissed his nose before resting her face on his shoulder. She smiled and hummed a bit, her body totally relaxed. She could feel his heart racing as she kissed his nose again. She snuggled into the fur on his neck. "Your warm." She muttered.

His heart was exploding in his chest, he knew it... he felt it! Ari's kiss only made it explode faster. She snuggled into his fur as he chuckled, it actually tickled a bit. He wrapped his tail around Ari and smiled. "You're warm too," it went better than he thought. It was officially... they were a couple, and Lucas could definitely die happy now.

Her ears popped out, her tail wrapping around his. She smiled at his neck. She had always wanted someone to know her for her. She wondered how long the test would last and if they would be free after. Maybe they would be separated. Or worse, killed. She tired not to think about it concentrated on his heart beat and hers.

"Ari, I'll get us out of here. Both of us, then we'll be free. Together," Lucas said to her as if he had read her mind, but he was truly worried for what woukd happen if they were separated due to a stupid experiment. It was not going to happen, not while he was alive.

Ari nodded, agreeing that it was for the best. Maybe they could start all over again. Go to school, get a good job, end up better off. She smiled at the though. She sighed. "For now, let's just enjoy the peace." She said. She blinked a few times as she realized there were still people here. 'Uh, Lucas. You do realize these people watched the whole thing." She said quietly.

Lucas smiled and agreed on her idea, they were at peace. That was a good thing, until Ari broke down they weren't alone that is. Lucas stood up in a small panic, holding Ari with his tail so she didn't fall, but his paw gave away as he himself fell and blushed heavily. "I- I forgot!" He said embarrassed as he hid his flustered face under his to remaining good paw.

Ari laughed. She repositioned herself and got off him. "Maybe you could walk better if you were a human." She said. She smiled at him. She did have a point. He could keep off his leg more when he had a lighter body. She patted his head and smiled again. "Come on, don't be shy." She cooed to him. He looked so funny flustered.

Lucas only nodded to her idea and changed back to his humans form, but he was still hiding his flustered face in embarrassment over the whole thing, as he enjoyed Ari's hand patting him and a small smile spread across his flustered face. "I- I won't!" Lucas refused as he was far too embarrassed to look at Ari or anyone right now, plus. His face was covered in red and was more like a tomato than a face.

She smiled and grabbed his hand. She wanted to spend more time with him, but she didn't want to gross the others out. She waked up to her room and pulled him in. She shut the door and let go of his hand. She flopped down on her bed, sighing. "I hope this experiment never ends." She mumbled. She smiled up at her ceiling, absolutely giddy.

Lucas was a bit surprised at Ari's sudden boldness as it seemed they gad switched places. He went willingly go to her room and smiled as she seemed very happy. He sat down on her bed, smiling at her. "I never thought I'll say this, but... I'm glad I'm in this project," Lucas muttered not hearing Ari's mumble first.

Ari smiled and hugged his waist. She was to happy to care what she was doing. She yanked him back down on the bed with her. She giggled as he landed on her stomach, pressing all the air out. The pressure just made her giggle more as he lied on top of her. She smiled and squished her face into his back as she laughed.

Lucas was a bit surprised by her sudden grab, as she pulled him backwards, but laughed as he found it extremely funny too. "Hey. We're not making Ari pancakes,"he joked as he rolled off her and gently nudged his fist into her hair, making her hair a bit messy. "There you go, perfect," Lucas teased chuckling at his masterpiece.

Ari laughed and tugged at his short hair. She ruffled her hands though it, making it stick up all over the place. "In my opinion, you look better." She said. She still had her hair in pigtails but the ends were all mangled. She giggled at his hair and leaned forward to rest her forehead on his. She sighed, his breath brushing her face.

He laughed at their silly behavior and nudged his head gently against hers. It had been a long time since he had been this happy, laughing this much. He hated to admit it, but that experiment was definitely worth it for being here with Ari, laughing this much.

Ari breathed in. Lucas smelled like pines and forests. She smiled. He might think she was a bit weird, but at this point it didn't matter. She just liked being there, next to him. She thought of how her life would have been if she had made different choices. Not ducking that dart that was fired, not chasing after him.

"Do I smell good?" Lucas asked as Ari was seemingly breathing in. He didn't want to say, but he had grown fond of Ari's familiar and calming smell. It was si sweet that no words were enough to describe it. He lifted his head a bit up, and returned the kiss on the nose Ari gave him downstairs before blushing a bit embarrassed, but smiling.

Ari smiled. She was no longer afraid. She kissed him strait on the lips. She threw her arms around his neck, enjoying yourself. She smiled inside, a million fireworks exploding inside her head. She felt sparks fly as she kissed him. After she pulled away she rested her forehead on his. She smiled. "You do." She said.

Lucas blushed even more, if possible, and returned Ari's kiss. he smiled and pulled her into a tight hug. "You do too," he whispered smiling as he took a deep breath before he whispered. "I do not only like you, I love you," Lucas smiled as he cuddled with Ari, so happy they met each other.

Ari smiled. "Me too." She said. She giggled. She felt so alive here. She hoped the scientists weren't watching there every move, because if pressured, she would make some pretty bold moves. She blew her breath on his face. She wanted to kiss again, but she didn't want to make him feel pressured. She just breathed, her heart exploding.

Lucas giggled at Ari's hinting and gently pulled her int a kiss, smiling and laughing at how they shut the world out just like this. As if nothing in this world could bother them, and for Lucas, that was true. He gently hugged Ari to his body, making her lie down on his stomach and resting her head on his chest, his heart was beating crazy fast, but it was no longer confusing. He rested his head on top of hers, petting her beautiful hair and smiled.

Ari purred and lied down on his chest. There was nothing be afraid of anymore. She sighed in content, her tail brushing his leg as she lied there. This was where she was at peace, where she could be herself. She felt his hand in her hair and she smiled. It was like being pet, it felt good. She purred and mumbled "Feels good...." as he pet her hair.
