Fantasy The Experiment

"I like my form."

The cat clearly objected, the fur running along her spine beginning to rise. The claws concealed in her paws started to unsheathe, the sharpened tips digging into the grass and tearing them from their roots. In the lion's eyes, Alex was taunting her by switching back and forth without worry. But in Nina's, she didn't mind one bit. Of course, she couldn't control her animal side that well, so her temper was easily lost.

"I'm just afraid of what others will think of me. Do you know how many friends I've lost because of this?!" The lioness suddenly snarled, baring her sharp fangs at the hawk. Circling the bird as if it were prey, a low growl erupted in her throat.

"Every single one of them, and I hate myself because of it. I'm a monster, and nothing more." The lioness sputtered, gritting her teeth and stopping herself. Widening her eyes, she pressed her ears further against her head and began backing away.

"I-I'm sorry... I can't control my temper when in this form.. Forgive me." Her voice was now calm and sorrowful, her orange eyes refusing to meet Alex's as she backed further away.

Alex evaded the lion, slowing down. He shifted. "You know, if they were your friends, they would accept you for who they are.

Every single one of them, and I hate myself because of it.

She shouldn't do that to herself. "You aren't a monster. You would have eaten me already." Alex felt bad for her. No one reacted to him like that.

I'm sorry...

Alex sputtered. "Don't apologize! It's just your animal side taking over! Do you know how much my scientists had to pay because of when I lost control? They had many scars after a year." Alex remembered the times then. "Assholes deserved it anyway."

Ari sighed, exhausted. She leaned her head back, her long hair brushing his hand. She stared upwards at the blank celling. She breathed in a happy sigh. "It's so nice to be free." Ari said. She turned to the side, inhaling the sent of couch and another human body. She sighed again, looking around. She was totally and completely happy.

Nina raised her sunset colored gaze to Alex as he shifted. His words echoed into her ears like a voice projecting into a deep, dark cave. Warmth flooded into her eyes, and she found herself staring at him with a shocked expression. Not a single person had said something like that to her. Shifting into her human form, Nina stood directly in front of him. Her eyes continued to stare straight into his, her mouth still slightly agape. Realizing how idiotic she looked, Nina shook her head and cleared her throat quietly.

"Yeah well, being pushed away over and over again tends to get to you after awhile. I expect everyone to treat me that way now. It's quite a habit really..." She forced a smile, and looked down at her feet.

Alex realized no one had ever treated her that way. Wow. That sucked worse than his life the first day he moved to a new school. "Habits are for breaking, right? And remember that if they're your true friends, they'll accept you for who you are and not what you do. Kind words are short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. Just something I learned from my mother..." Alex closed his mouth... He was being kinda awkward.

(Sorry, it stopped sending me notifications.)

Sam really wanted to go exploring, so he left after giving the girl and apple. He walked out into the forest and morphed into his wolf form. He then started to run everywhere. He memorized a lot of the area close to the house. He then ran further off and found a lake. He wasn't in the mood for swimming, so he headed on. About an hour later he returned to the house and found more people there. He was in his wolf form, so no one knew anything. He was shocked to see Lucas so weak.

Lily makes her way into the living room, making a curious expression at seeing Lucas on the couch. "Is he going to be alright?" She asks Ari. "Did they do something to him!?" She asks, a hint of paranoia in her voice. She makes her way further in the room and sees that Lucas for the most part seemed unharmed just sedate. She calms down a little. "Have either of you figured out what all this is about?" She asks, playing nervously with her hair, not exactly sure how she was supposed to act in front of actual humane people that weren't out to poke and prod her. She looks back at sensing someone behind her, seeing the wolf and at hearing the large cat noise earlier she wishes she would have been given a form that was more powerful, but at least she was quick.

"Depends on your definition of free. I for one would not consider this freedom. Just a bigger cage" Tobias says to Ari making his way to her, Lucas and Lily. He glances over at Sam for a moment before taking a bite of his bologna sandwich he fixed himself. "Who knew the scientists had so many of us...."

Ari looked up to see a new face. She stood up and looked at him. "Hello." Ari said. She smiled, her canines showing a bit. Although still strange, she was still a bit more normal than most here. She twitched her ear when Lily came in. "He got sedated." Ari said. "Or at the least that's what it looks like." She said. "I dragged him back."

Sam kneeled I front of Lucas. "Are you ok? How do you feel?" He was genuinely concerned for him.. He put the most effort into uniting us. Weather he like it or not, he was a vital role here.

"He got sedated." Ari repeated. "Have we met before?" Ari asked. She looked at him inquisitively, her multicolored orbs staring at him. She looked him up and down, trying to decipher who he was. She twitched her ears at him, her tail swishing back and forth. "Who are you?" Ari asked looking at him.

"No, I don't think so" he said turning to her. "I'm Sam. I have the big room at the end of the hall. I've been exploring for a while. Lucas was the second person I met here. And you are?"

"The one with the other big room. Ari." Ari said. She extended her hand for him to shake. She had meet so many new people in one day that in one year. She sniffed the air a bit, taking in all the scents around her. Mostly it smelled of wood, but it also smelled a lot like cat. There was defiantly more that one cat here.

Sam looked at her hand. He then tentatively took it and shook. It was the first time he had touched another human in a year. The scientists always wore gloves and never showed any skin. Except for when he was in wolf form and attacked them.

"I'm fine Sam, don't worry about me," Lucas woke up from falling asleep fairly quickly. Still dizzy and the headache was still lingering over him, but he felt a little better than before. He forced out a smile to hopefully not worrying them anymore, as he still didn't have the strength to sit up just yet.

"I didn't think you would worry this much... sorry for being a bother," Lucas apologized to them all, as he hoped none of them had panicked over his sudden weak state.

Ari looked at him, still concerned. "Are you a hundred percent sure you are ok?" Ari asked. She was worried that he was still not doing well. She looked at him intensely, her orbs seeming to flash in the light. She got closer to him, making sure he was ok. She inspected him up and down for signs of injury.

"A hundred percent is going a bit far... let's say ninty nine percent certain I'm fine," Lucas said honestly to Ari as his head was still pounding, his body weighed a ton and his neck was still hurting. How many needles did they give him before putting him in here again? Lucas watched as Ari examined him carefully with her beautiful eyes, as he never wanted to worry anyone, and kind of wished he was still on his own, but it was great knowing people cared about him too.

"I'm fine Ari, stop worrying," Lucas repeated, and petted Ari's head gently with his hand.

"Thanks for taking care of me though," Lucas thanked and smiled to her. To make her less worried hopefully.

Ari's face heated up a bit as he patted her head. Her ears twitched underneath his hand. "No trouble." She said, looking up at him. She was starting to wonder what had happened to her. Normally she was antisocial and very reserved, but she felt like opening up around him. It was something magical. Or at the least that's what she thought.

"Is it okay for you if I transform to my animal form? It's easier for me to relax that way. I'll be fine either way," Lucas asked them, as it was easier to fall asleep sedated in his animal form than human form. The sedatives they had given him was meant for animals, and his human body was fighting against it. Making it all the more painful for Lucas.

"Um, right here? I don't know what you are, but if it's big you might want to head outside. I have no problem with you changing, but this might not be the best place." Sam said. "Maybe I should also grab you something to eat?"

"Sure. I don't mind." Ari said. She transformed and sat on the edge of the couch arm. She blinked a few times, flicking her tail across her small body. She looked at him. "Big or not, you'll fit. Unless your a horse." Ari said.

"I'll be asleep. Thanks for the offer Sam, but I'm not very hungry. Don't do anything crazy while I take a nap. And Ari, don't worry. I am fine," Lucas repeated yet again, letting his hand brush through Ari's soft fur. It was good feeling to feel her fur, it wasn't his and she wasn't anything scary. It must be easy to be a small animal like she was. In no time Lucas' body was replaced by a white tiger with black stripes, curled up and soundlg sleeping barely on the couch.

Sam's eyes widened in shock. A white tiger. He wasn't expecting that. He was actually more surprised that the couch held his weight.

Ari reacted to his hand, relishing in the feeling of being pet. She purred a bit and looked at him. She saw him transform on the couch. He was like a much larger version of her, with a few stripes here and there. She got up and sat next to his head. She shoved her head into the arm of the couch. She purred a bit before falling asleep.

Sam decided to check what all of the food options were. In the freezer he found steak. Lots and lots of steak. He decided to start cooking some of them as people need meat in their diet. That and he just really wanted Steak. He walked outside and found a grill. It took him a minuet to remember how to work it, but he got it started and layer a few of the steaks on top of it. He then realized this might have been a mistake. If he cooked the first "official" meal, people might then start to expect it regularly. He looked around and didn't see anyone for the time being.

(Don't bug him, I'm going to sleep.)

Sasha had been watching the drama from the stairs. She had been nervous with all new people and both fangs and snake eyes were showing. She hated snakes. Everybody hated snakes. And everybody else had so awsome animals. And that cat-girl was complaining, Sasha would change animal with her every time.

She was worried about Lucas, and she hated herself for being such a coward and didn't go down helping him. Just because she was a little bit shy and worried about her looks.

She had noticed that everybody got those small scars after needles in their neck, just as her. Most of them had more scars then her but Lucas had most of them all. Mabey that's why he was so sick.

He felt that the snake inside of her disappeared and went down, seing that the cat was sleeping beside of Lucas, that had shifted to his tiger. She went out for a walk.
