Fantasy The Experiment

Ashlyn gave a small smile to Lucas as he introduced himself. "I'm Ashlyn," she replied. She then turned her attention to Sam, who had asked her about whether or not she changed. "And to answer your question, yes, I can shift into a particular animal form. I assume the rest of you can as well." They were almost to the house, and Ashlyn was buzzing with nervous anticipation.

Sam shook his head a little. 'They could all transform? What was the point of this?' He stopped as he thought he heard a noise ahead. He then raced ahead of the group and his behind a tree next to the house. He didn't see anything, but he could have sworn he heard something. He crept up to a window and peeked in. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Maybe he was just over reacting to the amount of room he had to actually hear things.

"Don't worry about it Sammie, you're not the only one who's confused here," Lucas reassured Sammie, as she was clearly the one who was the most worried out of the entire group. Ashlyn was only interested in seeing what surprise waited for them in the house, and Sam had already ran off on his own, hiding behind a tree. Maybe his animal instincts were taking over? He felt as if his inner tiger would take over at times as well, especially when it came to his fear of water, since that disappeared the second he turned into a tiger, and meat suddenly became his favorite food. It was weird how all of this worked, and why they were gathered there in the first place. Lucas didn't have time to answer Sam's question, but it seemed as he was busy examining the tree, whatever that would do for him.

"When you're done over there! The door is over here!" Lucas said to Sam, as he opened the door carefully, afraid it was linked with some sort of trap, but it seemed safe, as the door opened without any problems.

Sammie tilted her head some at the news. We can transform? I probably seem like an idiot now. Still, she followed the group. I wonder what I transform into. She wants to ask how to transform, what she has to do to change into her animal form, but she figured she'd already made herself look clueless enough. Instead, she stays quiet and tails the other three by a short distance.

That is, until Sam stopped and hid. This caused Sammie to become a bit uneasy, she also slowed her step, but she didn't stop. Instead, she continued on her way towards the house she had seen earlier, it looked much better up close, but she couldn't help but be nervous about what could be in it.

Sam sniffed the air. It smelled like there might be more people here than just them. The only problem was he didn't know where they were. He shook it off and followed Lucas inside. It was actually a nice house. He decided to go and claim a room for himself while he had a chance.

"Seems pretty normal for once," Ashlyn said almost to herself as she walked in with caution. It was big, obviously meant to house quite a few people. She watched as Sam dashed off in the direction of the bedrooms, and followed suit. She wondered if the bedrooms were nice, and had an actual bed rather than the steel boards Ashlyn was accustomed to sleeping on back in the labs.

Ari ignored the boy for now and walked up to the house. She walked in and headed to go chose a bedroom. She wanted a big one so she would never have to leave. She brushed her tail along the leg of one of the girls walking in tentatively as she walked inside. She walked towards the bedrooms and looked at them. They seemed nice.

Lucas quickly noticed the new smell that had entered the building, and the only thing he hoped for was that he was allowed to sleep in the big tree outside. His only competition for the tree, Sam, had already rushed to get a bedroom inside the house, so it seemed as he would get to sleep on the big branch, just like he wanted too. Friendly with a smile yet again, he walked over to Ari and smiled to her.

"Hi there. I'm Lucas, nice to meet you," Lucas introduced himself, glad to know their numbers were increasing, the more the merrier and it all increased the chances of them breaking out of here. Hopefully they all wanted out, even though he couldn't think of one reason to stay behind.

"I'll take the tree outside! That's mine!" Lucas claimed and informed the rest, as he hoped they would be all right with it, after having his genes mixed with a tiger's he had a strange affection towards sleeping in trees.

Ari turned to the guy who had introduced himself as Lucas. She blinked at him a few times before replying, "Ari.". Truthfully, she hadn't spoken in years so that was a big step for her. She smiled a bit, looking at him. He seemed friendly enough.

"Don't worry about the rest of the group, they all seem to be fine. They're just eager to find a room. You should probably find one if you want a big one. They are probably the first one to go," Lucas advised her as he sat down in the living room, staring out at the sky spacing a little out as he was hoping he would be able to return home, or at least somewhere where he wasn't fenced off from the rest of the world. They were definitely loaded with tranquilizers, and before he could do anything he would already be out of count. Maybe they would even take the chance of taking him out of this experiment. It's not as if I want to stay in here, but I'm so happy that I can finally talk to someone again, someone who won't stick a needle in me that is.

Miki looked around and found the largest room she walked out and said, "This one is mine." She sat down on the bed, rolling around for a minute. There was nothing for her to stake her claim, but rolling around on it should give the other cats and idea of who slept there. She walked back out and sat next to Lucas. She hadn't been in an open space in years. She just wanted to relish in the freedom.

Sam found a large bedroom at the end of the hall he liked. The bed was really nice, though he didn't have much to compare it to. There was plenty of space for him to move around. He found a piece of paper in a desk drawer with a Pencil. As best as he could he scrawled Sams on it. As an after thought he remembered to put an apostrophe in there so it now read Sam's. He laid it on the bed and poked his head out the door and shouted "This is my room!" And ducked back inside. He also opened the window so he didn't have to use the door every time.

As she waited for the fox to do something she heard something that gave her chills...but also a weird feeling of calmness. Voices. A group of people talking in the forest. Her instincts were fighting inside of her, one told her to run for her life and the other to go to them and get help. She feard that if she ran away with fear she would shift to the snake, so she started to slowly move towards the sound. To her suprise, the fox followed her.

There they was. A group of people in her age. They were still talking but she couldn't hear what they were saying, but she saw a big, old-ish looking haus, with room enough for probably 20 people. The group went inside and Sasha and the fox slowly followed.

Sammie couldn't help but smile at Ari as she walked past. She followed the majority up to the bedrooms, found the first unoccupied bed and sat down on it. Upon further examination, this was a couple's room - there was another bed on the opposite side of the room. She was a little uncomfortable with this, but decided that it was better than not getting a room at all due to being last pick. She just hoped someone nice found their way into her room. She wasn't sure what to think of this, there were a lot more people here than she expected. Being as shy as she was, she decided to let them introduce themselves to her to start instead of trying to forcibly introduce herself to all of them. She also wanted to try to figure out how to shift into her animal form...

As she was thinking that, she suddenly felt her body changing. Could this be it? After a few moments of indescribable feelings, what she saw took her breath away. She had taken the form of a mountain lion, her large paws outstretched in front of her. She tried to speak, but instead of words came a low growl. Again, and this time it was a bit louder of a roar. She imagined how she looked to anyone looking in, a large cat sprawled out on such a small bed. It hardly fit this form of her.

(I'm at work but have every intention of replying when I get off just don't get to carried away so I can catch up please)

After scouting most of the bedrooms, Ashlyn picked one on the colder side. The bed was much larger and appeared to fit her snow leopard form. She had a great view of the trees outdoors, and it wasn't as hot as the others were, which is something Ashlyn had grown accustomed to since becoming a snow leopard. She preferred colder spaces, but still enjoyed warmth when she got it. Everyone seemed to be taking this whole situation reasonably well, and Ashlyn was relieved by this.

Sam paced around his room for a bit in wolf form trying to break it in. The bed was even larg enough to fit this form. Though is room was bigger than his last, he still wanted to get out just in case he had some form of a mental break down. He walked over to the living are and then to the kitchen. He opened the fridge and shouted "FOOD!" He snatched up an apple and a block of cheese and started to tear them apart. He didn't realize how hungry he was until now.

Lucas didn't notice Ari sitting down next to him, before he heard Sam's celebration shout that there was food nearby, as it snapped him out of his thoughts. He smiled to Ari, as he heard the roar upstairs. Not hurrying too much, Lucas walked upstairs to the source of the roar. Thank God for his good hearing.

"Are you okay in there?" Lucas asked as he knocked on the door gently before he opened it, only to see a mountain lion laying down on the bed. He let out a small chuckle as he thought they were marking their stuff with their scent, they were still human and that was not a human thing to do. The scent from the mountain lion was familiar, as he realized the scent was Sammie's

"Sammie? Is that you?" Lucas asked, calm as he wasn't scared for the mountain lion. Lions were strong in a pack, but alone they were weaker, unlike the tiger who preferred to be alone and therefore was strong enough on its own.

With the entrance of Lucas, Sammie got a bit frightened. Startled as she was, she immediately morphed back into a human, looking timid as ever sitting on the bed again. She nodded quickly, then controlled herself. "I guess so, how'd I look?" Her tone made it obvious she was excited but she didn't want to show much of it. "I guess I'm not as confused about that experiment anymore, at least." She looked around slowly, then back up to Lucas. "Mind if I ask what animal you can change into?" She asked softly. It's the most she's spoken since she was taken.

Lucas watched as Sammie transformed back to her human form, and smiled as it seemed her confusion was gone and he wasn't the one who had to do the explaining. It was a good thing that the mountain lion inside of her didn't take over, the last thing he wanted to do was to fight among themselves after all.

"You looked like every other mountain lion. I wouldn't have managed to guess that though," Lucas said and smiled to her, as she confirmed that she was no longer confused over the fact that she was also dragged into this experiment. It was a good thing, sort of. Even better that she couldn't remember the experimenting, unlike Lucas which had it imprinted inside of his head.

"I'm a tiger. It's really nothing special," Lucas said and smiled to her, and leaned against the doorway, as he wasn't planning on entering someone else's room without permission, even less a girl's room.

She frowned some, she had to admit that she was somewhat jealous of his animal. Tigers were beautiful, they had always fascinated her. When she looked up, she was met by Lucas's smile, to which she offered a soft smile back. "Heh, you're lucky to get something like that." She made her slight envy known. She was an honest girl, so she had no problem with it. She noticed him staying in the doorway, so instead of inviting him in she decided to meet him there. She got up and walked over, moving as if she wanted to leave the room.

"So what about the others? I haven't met a few, I don't think." She said, intending to walk around now and see who else was here in this house of test subjects. She hoped most were nice, she had no intention to fight among themselves either; if they wanted to live fine they'd have to stick together, and she knew it. I guess I'll have to be a bit more involved this time...

Lucky? I never wanted to be an animal from the beginning... I suppose it's better than a mouse, but I've never considered myself lucky at all. Lucas smiled as it seemed she envied him a little bit, what would she do if she found out he wasn't orange and black, but white and black? One of the few rare breed of tigers that were now in his body, along with his genes.

"Sam's inside the kitchen, taking everything out of the fridge. If you're hungry you better hurry up. I'm afraid he might eat everything before any of us got a chance. Sam is a wolf at least, otherwise I'm pretty clueless," Lucas said as he noticed how Sammie wished to leave the room, and he began walking down the hallway towards the stairs. It was good to know that Sammie had opened up a bit more, and was more secure now. If they were going to live here, then at the very least he wanted them all to get along.

I wonder how many of us where gathered here... I would have loved it if we could all agree on getting out of here, the last thing I want is to spend the rest of my life inside this cage, like an animal.

Sasha did find a window she probably should be able to look threw. She was looking into a kitchen. There was a big frigde and freezer, a stove and some other stuff in there, and everything looked suprisingly mordern, unlike the style of the haus.

Suddenly a boy from the group she saw outside walked into the kitchen. He did open the fridge and smiled when he saw what was inside. He shouted "Food!" and took something out of it. Her belly roared of hunger and she looked at him with jealousy. She wondered if she was brave enouhg to go in and ask for or mabey take some food, but before she had made her mind up the boy had noticed her.

Sam had a bite of apple in his mouth so he swallowed before saying "You want anything?" He gestured to the fridge. His voice was sounding better already and he was being surprisingly social. He thought this is what social was, anyway.

Sammie looked around slowly as she followed Lucas down the stairs and into the kitchen. She saw the wolf boy from before again, she remembered his name to be the same as hers. He was occupied, though, with a new girl outside of the window. She decided to occupy herself by looking for some food. After a moment, she found another apple for herself and followed suit of Sam, biting into it timidly. She offered a small wave to the girl in the window, as well as a smile, but still she didn't say anything because it was clear that the two are conversing among themselves.
