”Staalkk?” Her head jerked back in playful disgust. ”C’mon now, if I asked for the lo you would’ve dropped it. I didn’t know your ghost ass went here anyway.” She slid her attention to Nyla when she perked up, her eyebrows raising. She laid her hands flat on the table and leaned forward, a grin spreading on her face. “Yall all look like this? Oh yeah, I like this school.”

The ghost comment was definitely a dig, but not a spiteful one. She had a good time with Del but nothing beyond some drinking and partying. They had a few text exchanges for a while after then all randomly communication ceased.

Laughing, she finally looked around at what was going on inside the tent. ”They let you be an AKA? Aint you a felon?” She had no clue whether or not that was true nor did she need to know, she just liked trolling Deliliah. Her focal point shifted once again back to Nyla. “Now what’s your name, Nubian queen?” Flirting came naturally to her regardless of whether or not it had any real intent. It certainly helped that this girl was fine as hell.

Life has somehow gotten easier and harder all at the same time for Genesis. Sobriety? Hard, very hard. Especially now that school was starting back up. In the summer it wasn't so back because there was nothing to stress over, but now just the thought of the impending deadlines made her wanna reach out to Victor or Dee one last time. Or maybe just before exams? That wouldn't be so bad right. Everything in moderation is fine right?

Wrong.

Well at least if you ask her family or boyfriend. Speaking of which that was also kinda hard to wrap her head around. She had a whole boyfriend now, and it was Shai of all people. Not to say he's a bad guy because in fact he's a great guy. Super handsome, strong, intelligent, supportive. All the good things you should want in a partner, it's just how do you go from a year of bickering and competing to...lovers? It was an interesting transition they were making to say the least. You know what else was difficult? Deciding what to wear to this thing!

Gen had never been a super fashionable person to begin with and homecoming was a big deal here. She normally wouldn't care as much, but Shai is on the team and she didn't wanna make him look bad by association, though she knew in the back of her mind he didn't care about all that. In fact she'd be lucky if he even wanted to go to the after celebrations to be seen. She finally landed on a white sleeveless top and some black denim shorts tied together with her black boots. It was too hot to be in layers yet. She was a winter girlie, so most of her closet is hoodies.

Despite the significant strides she's made in her personal life, looking at herself in the mirror now something still felt...wrong. Something felt like it was missing, but perhaps she was still just overthinking things. She had friends, love, and somehow still making excellent grades. She was on track to do everything she's ever wanted, so what could possibly be missing? What void was she still trying to fill?

As if on que her phone buzzed, and it was her friends. She giggled along as she read and replied to them. They were an odd bunch especially being seen together, but she wouldn't have it any other way. She made a mental note to be sure and say hey to Levi later since he was probably also busy with the team. With that and the knots in her stomach quelled, she got in her car and rode off to get Miles.

Miles has always seemed to be in another world. She wondered from time to time why that was. Why he'd choose to be on cloud 9 24/7, but considering her own plights she wondered if it was better not knowing. Something really traumatic had to happen to never wanna live in reality anymore. So, she always showed him grace, and always stood up for him against others even if he never asks for it, even if he'll never be cognizant enough to understand it. It was a no brainer she'd go pick him up for the festivities because against all odds he was still in the court and would have to show to be presented at the game. Plus she didn't want to wonder around by herself while waiting for Shai afterwards. Not to mention she was that friend that'd rather be DD to make sure everyone got home safely.

She wasn't surprised when she pulled up and he'd forgotten they already talked about this, but the running through of the various names that didn't even sound like people names was wild. "Really Miles? Jumanji? that one doesn't even start with a G!" She playfully hit his shoulder. "I'm good, now get up and lets get you to the tailgate. You owe me some chicken if they really are giving you some." She waved for him to get up and join her in the car. "Think we'll run into Eliza there?" She asked casually once they were both in. "Don't forget to buckle."
