Fantasy The Experiment

Ari got up and went to the fridge and took out some cheese. She nibbled on it happily before smiling at the guy holding the fridge door. "Hello." She mused, looking at him. He looked nice, like everyone else. Although her height, she might be the oldest one there. She sighed and looked at him.

Sasha blushed. She wasn't trusting this person one bit, he could be anyone. He could be a guard, one of those who kept her locked in in that horrible room or just a person that want to hurt her. She could feel the snake bubbling up but she didn't let it threw, because if she suddenly transformed into a snake he would think she was a freak. Wich was kind of true.

He did look nice, though. And he was offering her food, wich she truly needed/wanted. And it did feel nice to not be alone anymore.

She looked the boy in the eyes, (or tried to at least) and nodded.

Lucas went to the kitchen as well, hoping for something to satisfy his hunger. Outside he spotted Sasha and smiled to her and opened the window slowly. He didn't want to pressure her, but at least she could join them inside the house. It was meant for all of them after all.

"Why don't you come in and get something to eat? There's plenty of food inside here for all of us. We won't bite... I'm pretty sure that goes for everyone," Lucas invited Sasha in with a smile, as he found himself two apples, handing one of them to Sasha and eating the other one for himself. He once again went back to the fridge to get some more food for himself, as a tiger he had to eat a lot to make up for his strength and speed.

Everyone in the room was so nice. They all smiled at her and a boy had gave her an apple. She took a greedy bite of it and tried not to think of the things that they could have put in it. Her hands was shaking and she noticed with horror that her snake fangs was showing and she desperately tried to hide them, silently praying that no one saw them.

The apple tasted delicius but she didn't want to show her fangs so she didn't take another bite, but she decided to keep it until she were alone or she calmed down a little bit. It was getting quite akward tough, so she gathered up all her courage and said;

"H-hi. My name is Sasha. Sasha Miles. Thanks...for the apple." And she quickly took another bite of the apple to cover up her blushing face.

The girl had small fangs inside her mouth that Lucas barely managed to see, but he wasn't going to question it as he himself would have fangs as well. Her face had turned into a red color, as he guessed she was a little shy, or perhaps scared for where she had been brought to. Either way, she was safe for the moment, but who knew what those scientists were up to?

"I'm Lucas Quinn, and don't thank me. The foods here for everyone, so you can't thank me for giving something that's already yours," Lucas said to Sasha, smiling as he remembered she would probably want a room along everyone else, after all... Lucas was the only one who had claimed the tree beside the house, he preferred sleeping on branches rather than in a bed. It was too soft for him.

"Want to come inside and get yourself a room? It's better than sleeping out there on the rocks, and you can get some privacy if you want," Lucas invited Sasha in, hoping she would accept the invitation as he wanted them to stay together, because being in a group made them stronger than being on their own.

"Get out of the cage you stupid animal."

A scientist held in his hand an electric rod, poking it into a large metal cage. Standing there defensively, was a muscular lioness with eyes that mimicked the color of a setting sun. The animal roared and snarled, batting its huge paw at the rod. There was a creaking sound, and the lion whipped around to see the cage door being opened. With surprised eyes, the animal burst off into the distant green of the forest. She ran and ran until she couldn't take it anymore, and shifted back into her human form. Grabbing her head and letting out a gasp, the beautiful girl plopped down onto a rock.

"What kind of trick are they playing at?" The girl growled under her breath. Her orange gaze scanned the forest hesitantly, while standing up and pushing through the undergrowth. She heard the distant sound of voices, and she immediately felt alert. Shifting into her lion form, she dove towards the noises in a low crouch. A house came into view, and she could see through the windows that people were inside. Standing up into her human form, she walked to the back door and knocked.

"Hello?" Nina called, her voice light and suspicious.

Lucas heard a knock on the backdoor, as an unfamiliar voice was quick to follow it. He smiled to Sasha gesturing for her to follow him to the backdoor, before he took his leave from the kitchen window and walked over to the source of the sound. Gently opening the door, he met Nina and gave her a friendly smile, hoping not to alarm her.

"Hi there! My name's Lucas Quinn," Lucas introduced himself, smiling to her as he looked around for Sasha, hoping she would join him by the door to come inside. There was plenty of food here for them all and there were more than enough free bedrooms left, and he had claimed the tree so he would sleep well tonight.

"Hi there! My name's Lucas Quinn,"

A voice called to her, watching as a man opened the door and flashed her a friendly smile. She took a few steps back, feeling her inner lioness roar with defense. This didn't seem right.

He doesn't look like one of those scientists... He looks normal. And that scent... He's another shifter too.

Blinking the thoughts away, the girl standing at the door cleared her throat.

"I-I'm Nina Montez." She responded, a bit of alertness in her gaze as she stepped into the house. She looked around the kitchen slowly, her eyes trailing across the delectable food piled neatly on the counter. Nina faced the boy and watched him carefully, as if he were going to hurt her.

"There are more shifters here, aren't there?" The girl asked, smelling the overwhelming scent of other guests in this house.

Sammie, picking up not only on a new voice, but a new sent as well, made her way over to the door that Lucas was standing near. She approached him, and seeing Nina and Sasha she offered another small wave.

"There are, I'm one." She said with a warm smile. "Sammie." She finished simply. It was nice to see new faces, but she can't help but feel slightly overwhelmed. How many of us are there? She looked back to the kitchen, the others still stood in the room. It hit her that she never introduced herself to the pink-haired girl, but it didn't bother her too much just yet. Right now, her focus was on Nina and Sasha.

"I'm pretty sure shifters are the only ones in this building. You can go and claim a room for your own, but I think the largest ones are taken. Oh, and if you're hungry there's plenty of food here, don't worry. There's nothing strange in them, I ate just a while ago myself and I feel fine," Lucas said to Nina, as she had introduced herself asking a couple of questions. She seemed a bit tense, but he didn't expect anything else. He was a stranger, and maybe too friendly and straight forward. He watched as Nina followed his every movement, waiting for him to do something, but Lucas simply leaned up against the doorway, looking for Sasha once again, but watched Nina as well. Even though the rest of the shifters had taken everything fine, it didn't mean that Nina would too. Caution to not get attacked, but open enough to gain allies.

The girl watched the boy intently, leaning against the counter and staring down at her feet. So many thoughts ran through her head. So many emotions pounded in her rib cage. It was almost too much.

Than, she heard yet another voice. This time, it was a girl. Nina looked up, her orange colored eyes staring straight at Sammie. Forcing a small smile, Nina seemed to lose some of her tenseness.

"It's nice to meet you." The beautiful girl murmured. Her eyes darted to an orange on the counter, and she slowly snatched the fruit away from it's place. Peeling the skin, she glanced back at Lucas.

"Oh, it's quite alright. I can just sleep outside."

Sasha went around the haus searching for the door, and the fox that had disappeard. She found the door and Lucas welcomming her inside. They went to the kitchen were the other was, and a new girl she hadn't seen before. A scent that were both different and familiar, but she couldn't figure out what is was, were laying in the room.

"A room would be nice" she said and smiled. The fangs were gone.

"That's fine for me, but I've already claimed that tree for myself. So you can't sleep there. I'm very bad at sharing my sleeping spot..." Lucas admitted honestly, as he was a tiger after all and he felt uncomfortable being around others when he was vulnerable, such as being asleep. He was happy to see that Sasha joined them too, and closed the door after her, stepping a bit away from the door.

"The rooms are upstairs, I think the large ones are already taken, but take a look and see what you can find," Lucas smiled to her as Sammie had joined them too.

How many are we? I've already seen so many of us, what kind of group experiment is this? And for what purpose, it is beginning to worry me. But... I would rather be naive and think it'll be nothing more than us gathering here. If any of those scientists try to take us away, I will not hesitate to transform, even if I do not like being a tiger. After all, that's not me. If only I could return to being a human, where all these things wouldn't even pop into my mind. Oh well, I'll think about that another time, for now I do not need to worry about it.

"I can take you and show you the rooms, I know what's taken." Sammie offered, looking to Sasha. Her smile seemed genuine, and Sammie had no reason to dislike her, so her smile was returned by Sammie. She made her way over to the stairs and started climbing them, then looked back at Sasha, motioning for the girl to follow her. I might as well get to know some of them better. "It's just up here, there are quite a few rooms, but we still don''t know how many of us there are yet." She explained back, though she wasn't even sure if anyone was listening. She was used to being ignored or singled out, so even as she tried to be more socially involved, she expected not to be taken into much consideration by anyone.

He sleeps in a tree?

She followed the girl up to the rooms, she seemed very nice.

"What's your name?" She asked her. "And, what is going on here? I mean, there's a huge fence with guards and that guy Lucas sleeps in a tree." She didn't say anything about the experiment or the cage she woke up in.

Sammie couldn't help but laugh some, she had thought the exact same thing. I mean, I still do think the exact same thing. Upon reaching the top of the stairs, she turned to face Sasha. "How rude of me, I'm Sammie." She introduced herself with a quick wave of her hand. "As for what's going on..." The pause was meant to giver her time to think, but she had no idea what she was even thinking about. "We're not really sure. All I know is that some experiment happened, now suddenly we're all half-animal and we're stuck in this house together." She shrugged, as if to reinstate her own confusion. She realizes that the word "stuck" may seem a bit hostile, but she figured she was being friendly anyway, so it probably wouldn't mean much to Sasha.

She continued. "As for the other guy, Lucas I think, I'm not sure about him either. He seems friendly enough, so I've nothing against him. The tree thing is beyond me, though." Another soft laugh was followed by her turning back around. "I'm pretty sure that room and that room are taken." She pointed to two of the larger rooms. "I'm in that one, but there's an extra bed." She pointed to her own room now. "The rest are open, as far as I'm aware." The last thing was said as a reflex, Sammie didn't want any blame to be put on her if one of the rooms was occupied.

"Wait, have you all been through...all that? You can shift to?" She almost sqeaked.

Shocked, and relieved she took a look at the doors Sammie had pointed out.

"Thanks, I can find one myself now." She didn't want to be a burden for Sammie to babysit.

She wasn't quite ready to share a room, and she hoped that Sammie should understand, but she picked the one next to hers. It wasn't the biggest room but it was bigger than her last one, So it was enough. She did eat the rest of her apple and went down to the others, curious about them and wonering if everyone was a snake or if they all were different.

Lucas sat down by one of the tables in the living room, staring outside the window. He was wondering if the scientists were watching right now, and what their intentions were. It scared him to think of the possibilities, and even worse if they were there to be a part of a scarier experiment. The memories of his experiments were still fresh in his mind, and the needle sticks in his neck were starting to slightly hurt. He let out a sigh as he didn't notice Sasha coming back down.

I'll break out, and hopefully get most of the other shifters to work with me, if not at least not stop me. I've been here too long, and I carve the freedom that was taken from me. Even a bird with its wings clipped, will one day fly again.

Lily watched the strange girl from across the forest, baring her teeth at thinking it was another scientist but at realizing they were just as nervous as she was she follows her at a distance to the house. Her ears go back as she hears the roar of a large cat."were there other shifters or am I sharing a house with a large cat" she changes into her human form before making her way inside. Her hair matching her fur, some sick joke of the scientists she was sure of. She timidly makes her way into the kitchen her hunger overwhelming her fear.

Tobias makes his way out of the room he claimed for himself before everyone else got to the house. He claimed one upstairs at the furthest corner. He heads down to the kitchen as well to see what he could scrounge up for food, cautiously eyeing everyone, his muscles tense.

Lucas looked over to Tobias and Lily as they entered the house, smiling to the both of them as he didn't realize they were there at all. He usually wouldn't wander off into his own thoughts, but the times he did, he would become quite distant. He walked over to Tobias and Lily, smiling to them both, but walked slowly as he didn't want to alarm any of them.

"Hi there! The name's Lucas," Lucas introduced himself, smiling to the both of them as it seemed they had made themselves at home too, it was good to see that there were quite a lot of them being gathered, but it made him worry more. For what purpose was they gathered here?

Nina watched as Lucas once again began to introduce himself to the newcomers. She eyed them curiously, the scent of fox wafting off from the redhead and an African wild dog drifting off from the man. She had to admit, this group of shifters was immensely unique. There was so many varieties of animals here.

But why are we here?

The thought she had asked herself many times popped into her head. She was sure the other shifters wondered why they were here too. Nina just hoped it wasn't another sick joke played by the scientists. She would not tolerate being the doll the child plays with.

Shaking her head slightly, she snapped back into reality and munched on a slice of orange in her hand. The sweet juices burst free when her teeth met the delicate skin of the fruit. Swallowing it in a matter of seconds, she continued to stare at the unfamiliar girl and boy. The man seemed a bit tense, and she noticed he seemed to be scavenging for food among the counter. When he looked up, she flashed him a small grin, tossing him an apple.

"Here. I was gonna have it, but you can instead."

As he flew around, Alex saw a house. Maybe there were other people. For now, it was best for him to watch. There might be a scientist in the house. Alex sniffed the air. More shifters. Huh. He flew up to the top of a tree near the house, and watched. He didn't want to go back, but if something happened he would have to interfere. He was hungry. Hadn't eaten in a while. Whatever. He could go without. There wasn't much going on. Maybe he could slip in without a fuss. Probably not. He flew down, and looked around. It was big. Well, better now than later. He shifted once he was at the ground, and leaned against the tree he was at. The others would find him soon enough.

(Sorry guys, I slept in and haven't been at home for a while.)

Ari walked outside, getting a bit of fresh air. She had been in a cage for years, why stay that way? She turned towards the tree and spotted the strange human from earlier. She walked up behind him and poked him with her tail. She looked at him, her eyes barely peeking out of the side of the tree. Everyone here hadn't noticed her multicolored eyes, or at the least they never bothered to ask.

Alex looked at the source of the poking. "Hey, who're you? And just for reference, how many others are there?" Her multicolored eyes were dazzling. "Oh yeah, and nice eyes. Where'd you get them from? The damned experiments?" Alex began to walk towards the house. Maybe he could see other people there. He knocked on the door. Was it just them?

"Yes. I was born with the hair though. And yes, there are others." Ari said, following him. "I just came to get fresh air. I feel kind of out of place here. Everyone was combined with exotic pets." Ari said, looking down. "But I'm just a regular house cat." She said. She walked around a bit, her hair bouncing up and down as she walked.
