Fantasy The Chosen of Seven

Severis hoped that the girl was telling the truth, and that he would not regret his kindness. Even an emotionless psychopath would crumble at the pitiful sight of puppy-like eyes looking up at him from that girl's face. He knew it would be a challenge with her, but perhaps she and that scythe would be useful. It was said that, wielded correctly, it could destroy entire armies. Hopefully, that wasn't hyperbole from countless generations of storytelling.

"What is your name then, girl? I am Severis Crux, the Bloody Blade. And you look as if that weapon fits you poorly; if you're not to be a burden, I'll have to help you in the basics of combat training."

He had decided that if he had no choice but to go with her, then he'd try and lessen her incompetence, at least somewhat. There was only so much a man could do, and he had never wielded a scythe before; at least there were certainly some transferable skills he could teach her. Stance, grip, putting your weight into a motion - that sort of thing.

Perhaps this also will not be so bad, he thought, as though the road to swift drinker might be long and arduous, they already had a powerful weapon, and unlike the other pairs, save for that which would contain Adruo, they had only one weapon to get.

Adruo slowly got up on wobbly legs. She quickly looked over the wounds on her arms. They weren't anything severe, just an average scrape. She had had far worse just from falling over in the wrong place. It was the pain in her chest and forearms that were the problem. Adruo had attempted to block Terra's attack, but obviously she did a bad job. It didn't seem like any of her bones were broken, just badly bruised. It would be uncomfortable, but not too much of a hindrance.

Once Adruo had finished her self-examination, she gave a small smile to the spider hybrid who had asked her a question. "Why? I'm not too sure myself, but if I had to give an answer... Perhaps because it would be dangerous if one of you got injured before you even left Eden. Especially by another Saviour." Her smile faltered as she noticed the lamia's absence. "The bonds between the Saviours... History depicts them as so strong that they didn't even need to speak to understand one another. Even so... Nowhere does it say that they started like that." Adruo said mostly to herself. She looked in the direction Terra had left, her expression filled with worry. There was nothing she could do. It was a task for one of the Saviours. Terra was the only one capable of wielding the katana. Why couldn't she see that? Adruo turned back to the hybrid. Her expression held none of its usual gaiety. "I ask of you; as a member of the thousands who reside on Pangeros; find her and speak to her. She is the only one fit for Lacus' weapon. I beg you... Please." Despite her best efforts, Adruo's voice trembled as she held back tears. The fate of the world - a world she had grown up in and loved so much - was at stake.

Sylvanus watched as the dragonling girl spoke to him and he could hear the sadness in her voice, it wasn't the first time he'd heard sorrow in a voice, many times his victims had begged for mercy, whether it was a female that didn't want to be a carrier of his brood or if it was a child effortlessly trying to force him to let go of his father. However this time it was different, this time the voice wasn't begging him to spare it, nor did it scream at him to leave this life and pass on, this time the sorrow was asking him to, make peace, it was the first time he'd heard anything like it, a creature that didn't just beg for its own salvation, a creature that wasn't selfish. Once she was done Sylvanus stood up, still looking at the dragonkin, "Very well, I shall search for miss Terra, and" He paused "Apologize for my behaviour, I will attempt to bring her back to the group and our mission, however if she doesn't cooperate, I shall leave her be, or if she is truly that neccesary to finish our mission, I will not fear to use force in bringing her back" Sylvanus looked at the girl, waiting for her response, and once he'd gotten it he turned towards the exit "Very well" And walked out to search for his chosen companion.

Mayweather Beckons

Mayweather brightened even more at his acceptance. It was nice to know she would not have to go on a journey with someone she would only make unhappy with her presence the entire time. "Nice ta'meetcha, Severis. My name's Mayweather but call me May." Much like she always did, May skipped formalities like her title, if it could be called that, and her last name. In the end, she found it didn't really matter anyway and only served as a boundary between friendship. Now that Severis mentioned it, the weapon did look sort of funny in her hand. Her fingers were small and slender, looking fragile against the metal rod. And the blade itself was a good foot above her head and longer than her forearm. If it were to fall just right and hit-- No, no. Best not think of something like that. It'll all be fine. "I would be ever thankful if you did teach me how to use this... thing." Unsatisfied and guilty with how she referred to it, she tried again. "Hmm... I think this needs a name. It only seems right for such an important weapon. And, by the way it looks, I think a female's name would suit her best. She may be sharp and tall, but she's slender and beautiful like a dancer or a swan. Grace. Her name is Grace," May concluded with a small smile, satisfied with her weapon now. Being that she had a name, Grace was a lot less intimidating and felt less awkward in May's hand. Now that they understood each other, perhaps they would work better together, she thought.

Phoebe Silva

Lips had parted to give a reply to her fellow shapeshifter when the Lamia’s screams tore through the air. Fast as lightening, Phoebe spun around and took a few steps back. As her whole body shifted into a defensive stance, bones burst out of the skin on her forearms and branched out, growing into antlers which extended alongside her arms. The bone shone white as moonlight, the ends ragged and sharp enough to cut into her own skin, but the brief shot of adrenaline was enough to dull out the pain.

Struck with tunnel vision, Phoebe had a hard time calming down. It was only when she focused on Adruo, laying on the ground and moaning in pain, that the edges of her vision began to clear up. Realising that the dragon kin was unharmed, she let out a sigh, muscles unclenching and shoulders sagging under the weight of an air still thick with tension.

Her teeth clenched when she got a good look at her arms. Heat pooled on her cheeks and she attempted to cover the bareness of her bones while they receded, embarrassed at how easily she’d displayed her vulnerability. The shame infected her rational thoughts, and she found herself unable to face her companion.

Instead, she listened to Adruo’s words, sympathising with the girl’s wishes to end the conflict.

Confrontation had never been one of her strong points. All of this high-tension just felt unnecessary and counterproductive to her. They had a mission to accomplish, an established goal that was necessary for everyone’s survival, and all this anger and fear would only get in the way of results. How could they not see this? Why had the gods burdened sentient beings with emotions? If Phoebe could, she wouldn’t hesitate in casting them away. She would throw them out to the sea and watch them drown.

Adruo is right, of course, our whole existence is at stake here. Our cooperation is vital and time is of essence. These misunderstandings are a waste of said time,” she uncrossed her arms, shifting her weight from one foot to the other. There was a quite voice in the back of her head, nagging her about whether she was being tactful enough, but when did that voice ever make any sense?

The hybrid's words reassured Adruo, allowing her to give a small smile in return. She really hoped that Terra would come back peacefully. Adruo had no doubt that Sylvanus would use force. She also had a niggling feeling that the spider didn't have the greatest reservoir of patience ever. "Thank you." Adruo said. She was honestly grateful and it showed in her voice. She watched the male leave for a moment before turning to the human pair. She tried to push her worry down and focus on other things.

May and Severis seemed to be getting on fairly well despite their previous dispute. Adruo smiled at the sight. She then hastily spoke up. "Actually, the weapons each have names given to them by their creators. The scythe of Aura is Angel Mercy. It's named after the Old Gods messengers who Aura resembles. The Mercy part involves a very long tale that very few take interest in these days." Adruo then pointed to the strange gem that resembled an eye in the base of the blade. "Angel Mercy is able to cast a light that... As far as I know, activates whenever its powers are harnessed. Just don't look straight into it or else you may get temporarily blinded. Oh!" She then turned her attention to Severis, remembering what he had said to the younger girl. "If you try to pick it up, you'll probably break your arms. To the rightful wielder, it will weigh close to nothing. To anyone else... Not so much. I think they said it weighed roughly as much as a couple of elephants." Adruo explained thoughtfully.

As he exited the castle Sylvanus started looking around for his companion however just as expected so wasn't it as easy as just walking out the doors and finding her. After searching for a while throughout the city he found the lamia woman standing on a porch looking over the town, in order to not scare her Sylvanus had made his legs wrap around his torso, the sharp ends of them scratched his back and sides, the twitching making him bleed, however he decided not to be bothered by it since his objective currently was more important. He slowly approached the woman and started speaking from a few meters away. "I apologize" He started with as he knelt down, a habit he had whenever talking to people who he really wanted to listen to him, or to show respect, "I'm sorry miss Terra, I didn't have any intentions of scaring you, it's just that I've always been paranoid with other organisms, especially lamias, as I said so have I many times been seduced by others of your race, therefore I assumed that you would eventually attempt to do the same so I decided to warn you about the danger of attempting it first" He decided to remain on his knee until she'd respond, not making any sudden movements.

@Kiroshiven

Terra stared put across the city and pulled out her flute. This was one of her last connections to Rasmera. She played the song that Rasmera taught her first "The Longing of the Gyspsy." It was a song that many gypsies played when they felt disheatened by the world. It was a song that spoke about the yearning to be alone with only the road as your friend. The desire to travel without judgment or fear from the fellows in your caravan. As she finished the song, she heard the spider speaking to her.

"Your apology isnt needed." He voice was empty and her fear was crushed beneath the melancholy of her position and the memories of her mentor. Tears flowed down her cheeks. She didnt look at him. "Spiders arent exactly something I deal with easy. However, you probably dont want to know why." She forced a painful laugh. "Youre probably only here because of that stupid mission to save the world. Whats worth saving anyway?" She gently pet Jasper's head. "You probably just want me to go away anyway. The caravan wants me to leave too. I can even hear the joyful music from here." She heard the music on the wind and sighed. "A lamia isnt exactly welcomed anywhere spider. And unlike you, i cant kill or fight. Im just a gypsy."

She sighed in defeat though. "Ill tag along on this mission, but expect nothing from me. I dont do this for anyone or anything. I do this because im forced to." She turned back to the spider at last. Her eyes were red and the spark of life that was usually there was nowhere to be found. Even Jasper was scared by the emptiness in her.

Sylvanus listened as the lamia spoke, and once she'd finished he looked up with a dissatisfied expression as he saw her face, even though she'd agreed to coming along, he was not satisfied with her unhappiness "The words you speak are lies Terra, you might not know it yourself but many people need you, whether it is for enjoyment or friendship so have I learned under my travels that lamias are not only the most silver tounged of species, but also the most sociable, I've never met a lamia that has travelled alone and not all of them looked completely defenseless, so if they didn't join their group in need of protection, then why would they join someone else? That is a question I've never managed to answer myself, whenever anyone has ever looked at me, whether it's been a citizen of a town or a highwayman, so have they either started running and screaming or attacked me, hybrids have never been very popular in this world is something I've been taught very well during my travels and spider hybrids are one of the worst it seems" He clenched his fist, which led to his legs tensing up as well, burrowing deeper into his skin however he didn't mind it "However you lamias, you're different, I'm not sure why, but it seems like humans are very fond of you, whether it is for your bodies or your talents I do not know, but don't you go say that you're not welcome anywhere, you know nothing of being banished, and besides, I bet that many groups, whether it be a caravan or mercenaries, would kindly accept you into their group, and you might not hear it. But I hear a difference in the tones of that music coming from down there, it sounds, like they're... happy, but not because they've gotten rid of something, but rather that a friend of theirs have found a meaning, and they're happy for them, not because of their loss, but their friends gain" Blood trickled down Sylvanus's back, dripping down his leg and onto the floor, his fists were nearly bonewhite and blood poured from them as well. "And yes, I might be doing this only because the gods are telling me to, just like you, however no one, not even the gods, should be able to force you to do something you don't want to" Once he was finished, Sylvanus tensed a bit less, his legs pulling out of his back and his nails out of the palm of his hands, he was now a bloody mess, but this time it was his own blood that covered his body.

Mayweather frowned when Adruo mentioned that the scythe already had a name. Well, maybe "Grace" would be just a nickname that her and the scythe shared. She listened to everything the dragonkin girl said intently and took every word to memory. She knew all of this might be important later. Though, it was a lot of information and May wasn't really sure what to do with it other than that. It seemed to create more questions than give answers and the littlest hints of doubt began to grow inside her. Of course, they were quickly squashed and replaced with even more hope as if to smother the dark flames of negativity. A thoughtful look crossed her face as May tried to decide what to ask about first. The questions toppled over themselves just beyond her tongue and all that came out was a small mumble, "I don't think I've ever tried to pick up an elephant..." Realizing that might have sounded silly, she cleared her throat and tried again. "What else can it do? And how can I do it? Are there magic words like hocus pocus or abra cadabra?" It suddenly occured to her what Adruo said about Severis breaking his arms and she glanced at him. "Perhaps it is better if I try and learn alone then," She sighed. "I would hate it if you were to get hurt."

Terra couldn't hold back. She started with a soft giggle much like a young girl's, but as it grew stronger she started laughing hysterically. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. "You're not very familiar with humans and gypsies are you hun?" She wiped the tears from the corner of her eyes. "Have you ever heard the saying keep your friends close and your enemies closer? At least with you the humans know where you stand. Esepcially if you greet them all the same as me." She was still recovering from her laughing fit as she took several deep breaths. "The reason we lamia are welcomed with open arms is because you never know what we're planning. We're the schemers the tricksters, not even the harpies want anything to do with my species. However, if we offer to join somewhere, they accept us because there's always gain in it for them. But if you ever saw a lamia travelling by herself, nobody would ASK her to join the caravan, she'd have to ask them. It's simply the idea that has guided your judgment of me. We're not trustworthy." She looked back down to the square.

"I've heard the people in the caravan talk about me. They wonder if I've stolen from them. They never accuse anyone else. They like having me along because Rasmera taught me and only me how to be the Queen of Gypsies." She let out a long sigh. "I miss you Rasmera." She felt her anger boiling as she remembered the past when she lost her mentor, friend and closest thing to a mother. "Worthless spiders, we didn't do anything and they attacked us assuming we took their stupid jewel. Turns out one of their own took it and so the closest person in my life died because she was a gypsy." She hissed at the spider hybrid with a nasty look. "So don't ever act like you know what the caravan or anyone else thinks about me. Yeah, lamia are accepted if they offer, but we're not a welcomed race. We're a race that nobody trusts because they feel they can't know our next move. At least with hybrids, they're pretty straight forward when they're going to kill you or be your friend."

Terra sighed as she finally finished venting. "Now unwrap your legs. You're hurting yourself." Terra reached into her magic bag that thankfully only she could access. "I know it's in here somewhere." She dug through it wildly, searching for something. "Here we are!" She pulled out a roll of green bandages. "Pre-medicated bandages. They're coated in several gypsy remedies known to help heal wounds and prevent diseases." She slithered over to Sylvanus. "Try to hurt me or touch me with one of your spider legs and I'll probably freak out again. So I'd suggest holding still." She began to work diligently at bandaging up the hybrid. She was terrified, but he'd at least helped her slightly, she could return the favor.

@minismurf

It was more from instinct than proper thought that Destin spun on heel to face the screaming Lamia and the recipient of her fury. Another pair of their group were at odds it seemed, though this time it got violent, and Adruo would be the one to take blow. A gasp escaped parted lips as he witnessed Adruos tiny frame skid to a halt on the stone floor. Had she not had people rush to help her already, he would have done so. He watched with a sort of detachment as the events unfolded before him, the lamia exclaimed her hatred of spiders, and that she was leaving, and she did.

He turned to face Phoebe just in time to watch as the bones retracted back into her arms. Eyes of opposite hue watched intently as this minor transformation took place, he was fascinated with how she could create weapons in this form from her other. If time had permitted, he would have questioned her about this, another time perhaps.

His attention was diverted back to Adruo, and he listened as she pleaded with the hybrid, and answered the various questions of the others and explained the powers of the scythe to another companion. After waiting for a break in the conversation he stepped forward and spoke. "
I hope you are well Adruo.. It looked like a powerful blow... I was wondering if perhaps you had any details of the weapon I am to wield?" The wolf knew that time was short, but any information he could gather may prove to be invaluable.

Adruo chuckled at May's statement. "I don't think many people try picking up elephants. But obviously you don't have to worry about that." Adruo said with a gesture to how easily the girl held the weapon. "As for what it can do, Angel Mercy can change the weather. It also has a useful little function that makes sure the user won't take any damage from a fall, no matter how high." The dragonkin looked down in slight shame. "I'm afraid I don't know the exact details on how to operate it though. The tales briefly mention that the wielders are... told." She gave a small sigh. "I'm not to sure what it means, but I assume that it will come to you naturally. Maybe the gods will send a message when the time comes."

She then turned her attention to another who had asked a question. The shapeshifter wolf male. "You were chosen by Semino, correct?" Adruo asked politely. She then furrowed her brow as she thought. "Your weapon is Forest Edge. It is a claymore, broadsword type...Um, a bit like mine, I think." Adruo unsheathed part of her sword to show the width of the blade which was greater than any normal ones you could find in a blacksmith's shop. "Forest Edge can heal minor injuries of others. It also increases growth in nearby plants. That's not very useful though... Oh, it aids the user a fair bit. The longer you have it, the better your healing rate. It will also protect you from minor poisoning and lessen the severity of more dangerous ones." Adruo gave the best explanation she could.

Severis listened in as the scythe's name and powers were described. Controlling the weather... that might be useful, perhaps. Maybe command rain against some kind of fire demon, if they would be as such, or perhaps she might control lightning itself. That would be a fearsome ability to have. That is, if she had it.

He came to think of his own weapon that he would be retrieving. Swift drinker, he knew it was called - he had been a servant of Caedis long before being chosen as his patron, and the Red Order had taught him all about the great god of blood. He also knew full well what it could do, so he'd not slow them down by asking questions.

"Mayweather, I doubt we have much more to wait for. Unless you have anything more to tell us, dragon girl, then we should get moving. I know where my dagger resides."

Sylvanus sighed as the lamia laughed at him, he was curious about this Rasmera person, however decided it would be best not to ask, and she was right, all he knew about lamia and human interaction was what he'd learned during his travels, he didn't have much knowledge apart from that, he'd tried to make a judgement about something that he had no clue of. However as she walked up to him to fix his wounds he decided to let her, he changed position from standing on one knee to sitting with legs crossed, he unveiled his arachnid limbs and stretched them out to their full length, about half a meter each of them, his blood trickled down along them. He held the legs in front of him as the lamia started patched him up, looking at his blood dripping down one of them into his legs. "Tell me Terra, have you ever experienced true hatred? Have you ever been attacked for no reason even though posed no real threat? Have you ever been betrayed by someone that appeared to be actually caring about you? Have you ever been attacked by your own kind? Have you ever killed one of your own" Sylvanus spoke with a blunt face, he wasn't sure why he asked her these questions, he just wanted to keep some conversation going during the procedure.

A big smile spread across her face when Adruo mentioned a weather ability. How cool! "I could make it sunny all the time. People would have to try very hard to be unhappy on a sunny day," she mumbled mostly to herself, her finger on her chin and a thoughtful expression on her face. "And the whole falling thing will come in handy. I wonder if that has a minimum height because I trip and fall sometimes..." May's eyes flickered up to Adruo and she chuckled, realizing she was going off on a tangent again. "You're so smart, Adruo." Then, when Severis piped up about leaving, she agreed and figured it was best they did leave soon. Besides that, she agreed to go at his pace and apparently his pace was leaving right now.

Before May turned to go, she took Adruo's hand carefully in a farewell handshake and said, "Thank you! Good luck with your journey." May spoke as if the dragonkin was going off on a vacation. She did not mean it insensitively but it might have came off that way. Then she looked up at Severis, waiting for him to take the lead. Ezi on the other hand was a lot less enthused. He took to sitting on the shoulder away from Severis, clearly still cross with him for yelling earlier. With time, May knew he'd grow used to the man though. He was just a frisky little thing.

"Im not a fighter." Terra spoke plainly as she continued patching him up. When he ws being docile, this spider wasnt too bad. "I havent always been with the same caravan and have been betrayed by them before. But with Jasper's help i always manage to talk my way out of it." Jasper zipped over at the mention of his name and crawled onto Terra's tail. She smiled warmly as she finished bandaging up Sylvanus's ribs. "And hatred isnt uncommon for Lamia. At least in my case anyway. I dont know how many wives hate me or how many relationships ive ended just trying to meet my goal." Jasper climbed onto her shoulder and nudged Sylv's short leg.

"Jasper! Dont touch that. That's something he probably doesnt want to talk about." She shook her head and put Jasper on the ground. "Sorry bout Jasper." She mumbled as she put the remaining bandages back into her bag. "Ok, time to get back to the group. But before we leave ill need to buy some really warm clothes. Cant afford to freeze in the Blue Isles."

@minismurf

Sylvanus kept watching his blood dripping as Terra spoke until it finally coagulated. When the gnoll touched his damaged leg his entire body flinched, his legs aiming right at the small creature with a growl at the back of his throat and his damaged leg twitching in towards his body, he grabbed it quickly and started caressing the end of it and looked at it like it brought back bad memories, which it did, as his other limbs relaxed. "Sorry about that, and no need to apologize Terra, I've heard of gnolls playful nature and I should be the one apologizing for my behaviour since it's not my first time being threatening, that's just a very" He paused and looked back at the leg "Sensitive spot for me" He was going to try and pet the gnoll in apology after he stood up, however he stopped as he felt that it wasn't a very good idea since he'd just threatened it, it was only to be expected if it would bite his now dark red hand. "And yes, we should both purchase some warmer clothes for the travel, mind if I join you?" Sylvanus wouldn't be surprised if he'd get a no to this offer, he'd not only threatened Terra herself now, but her companion too.

Phoebe Silva

Giddiness took hold of Phoebe as she listened to the weapons' backstory, a warm and familiar feeling that washed away every worry that had built up till then and sent her back to her beloved dusty shelves and lecture halls. The urge to fish out her notebook once more was great, but she managed to keep her hand still. Instead, she filed every piece of information about the Forest Edge and Angel Mercy on a mental folder, along with all the facts she’d already collected on them back in the Archives. Truth be told, she had always found the gods to be a much more interesting research subject, and had therefore neglected the weapons themselves, but maybe that had been a mistake on her part.

Having waited patiently for the interaction between the small girl and Adruo to end, Phoebe cleared her throat and began speaking. “If you don’t mind, Adruo, would you please also inform me of my weapon’s abilities? What name did they give to The Bow? Do you know anything about its last holder? What fascinating stories surround it?” The ex-librarian had meant to keep her query short and to the point, but found herself unable to stop the train of questions that followed it. The space between her and Adruo had shortened with each word that tumbled out of her mouth, the ink in her eyes swirling with barely held excitement.

Last edited by a moderator:
Adruo tilted her head slightly as she thought. "The bow of Gaidoku... Ah, I know. It's name is Venom Wind. As one would expect of the snake god, it's poisonous. The exact detail on how it works are a bit... confusing. To me at least. Perhaps you'll be able to figure it out." The dragonkin coughed to clear her throat. She had been speaking a fair bit today. "Venom Wind is known to shoot the most poisonousness arrows ever seen. However, it seems as if any arrows can be used and it's the bow itself that makes them deadly. Well, except that one arrow, but I digress. From what the tales say, it doesn't just do ordinary poison. It can also cause paralysis, hallucinations, failure of major or minor organs, etcetera." Adruo furrowed her brow as she thought. "The last holder... I know it was a lamia, but what was his name..." She muttered mostly to herself. "Oh! Temero Dipsas. I believe he was actually a swordsman before he came into possession of Venom Wind. He was, unfortunately, the first of the Saviours to die because... Actually, that reminds me. The bow isn't exactly picky about who it poisons. If you touch that arrow head and it's deadly..." Adruo didn't finish her sentence. Her serious expression and tone should have been enough to get the implied message across.

Rummaging through her leather pouches, Adruo took out an old piece of parchment paper. She held it out to Phoebe, her usual smile back in place. "If you're interested in the stories, this is the history on Venom Wind's creation. What materials went into it and how said materials were found, and whatnot. Despite how it sounds, it's actually really interesting. It's just..." Her face fell a little. A sad smile played on her lips. "This is pretty old, so just don't lose it." Adruo then looked over to Romon who had been waiting patiently the entire time that she answered questions. "We best all be setting off though. If we need to get in contact... well, it should be easier once we have the weapons." The girl gave a knowing, yet somewhat sly smile. The dragonkin went to stand next to the elf. "Sorry to keep you waiting so long. My mother should be in the castle, so she won't be difficult to find." She assured.

@SepiaInk @TerraBooma

Romon bowed. "As you wish Earhsh-" The elf caught himself. "Adruo." The elf smiled as they walked along, but there was something to the man that betrayed his demeanor for a sense of curiosity. As they walked along, Romon decided he would present questions of his own. They had some time to kill on the walk to the castle after all. And fidning her mother, even if she was in the castle. Probably wouldn't be something done in the span of a few moments.

So as the pair, Elf and Dragonkin walked through the streets, Romon broke his silence. "You did well with the pairings miss Adruo." The elf smirked. "Pairing the tempermental Sevarus with the gentle Mayweather to teach one temperament while also giving the other some fight. The two half-people. Who will find strength in one another while their journey grants them little support. The list really does go on and on." His smirk bubbled into a chuckle. "It is truly a wonder that you yourself were not picked instead of I. As that was quite the display of wits.."

The elf hummed along contentedly for a short time and allowing a response before continuing on. "That aside, I do have some questions for you regarding my own weapons. Of which I must admit I know little." The elf shrugged. "That aside, I am content to travel at whatever pace you set. I trust you know more about the Demon King's arrival then I. When we hurry and when we are allowed to delay shall be of your discretion."

Romon liked the Dragonkin from how she already acted. His lack of knowledge regarding the demon king was problem. He could see that. However...

"I do have one request Adruo. When time permits, I would like you to tell me what you can of your stories and legends. In return, I would be happy to converse on some elven songs, unless you know them already."

Given what appeared to be a vast library of knowledge in Adruo's head...Romon genuinely wouldn't be surprised if she already knew as many songs as he did. But the elf felt it only fair to offer a trade of sorts.

"Business aside, I suppose we should begin to learn more about each other if we are to travel together. If I may ask, where did you get your title? Earthshaker...seems to have a story behind it."

"I did?" Adruo asked incredulously. "I just went with positioning of the weapons in correlation to each other." She stated, somewhat confused. "I hadn't thought of all these other things. I'm afraid you may be speaking too highly of me. I'm not that smart." She said with a small smile. She wasn't at all bothered by it either. She knew the limits of her intelligence. She wasn't stupid, but she wasn't incredibly smart. She knew and accepted that fact.

Adruo bowed her head slightly as they walked. "I thank you for your trust in me. If you are ever uncomfortable with my pace, please tell me. You are, after all, the chosen one. Also..." The dragonkin fluttered her wings slightly. "I'm used to flying places." She said somewhat sheepishly. The fact would make it difficult to set a decent pace for someone who always walked. She would either tire more easily from only walking, or get impatient at not reaching destinations as quickly as they would if they were flying.

The girl's face lit up. "I would be more than happy to share the legends with you!" She exclaimed sincerely. Her excitement was badly restrained. "The elven songs are always so beautiful." She mused mostly to herself. "My grandmother taught me a few, but I'm sire there are far more I don't know. I would be honoured to learn them." She placed her hand over her heart and gave a small bow.

As they continued walking, Adruo could see the castle ahead in its gleaming magnificence. However, as soon as Romon asked his next question, the dragonkin stopped mid-step. Frozen. "M-m-m-my title?" She questioned, stammering for the first time in years. Her face flushed bright red as she realised that there was no escaping the question. She forced her legs back into motion. "W-well, you see, I'm an Earth Dragonkin. So, um... I can move rocks and stuff." She started. Adruo thought carefully about each word she would say. "And, um, the thing is that I fa-woah!" Adruo's sentence was cut off as she tripped on some loose paving, causing her to land flat on her face. As she hit the floor, the ground nearby shook gently. "Ow ow ow." She muttered as she got up into a sitting position. She turned to face Romon. "That's why."

Romon rose a brow bemusedly, but perhaps to Adruos' relief, said little more on the topic of her title. "Adruo, should you wish not to discuss something, simply let me know. This is how communication typically plays out." He chuckles before extending a hand to help her up. Romon spoke as he helped the Dragonkin to his feet, and resumed speaking. "That aside, I have been wondering. You know a lot about weapons, you said your grandmother told you stories correct? What do you know about the twin blades?"

As Romon brought up the twin blades, his voice trailed off, and he looked down at the sword by his side. "Looks like I'll have to retire this blade before long. It's a shame, she's been good to me." The elf sighed, but quickly changed his gaze to search the square. "Adruo, it seems I have a stop to make after all. How big are the twin blades? I'll need to shift my fighting style eventually. As you yourself fight seem to only carry one blade, I'll have to teach myself..."

Romon's eyes scan the area. "I suppose what we need to find is a weaponsmith, but don't worry, we can find your mother first. What does she do anyway?" Romon returns his gaze to Adruo. "You said she would be in the castle. What does she do?"

Terra smiled as she scooped up Jasper in her arms. "Sure thing." Terra smiled warmly. She wasn't over her fear of spiders, but Sylvanus wasn't as terrible as he came off to start with. She'd be able to at least travel with. "However, we also need to stop at an arms dealer. We both should practice fighting with the weapons we were chosen for. I only know the basics but you have twin scythes and I have a katana. However, from what I've heard, the twin sycthes are smaller than you'd think and are more like twin sickles." Terra shrugged her shoulders as Jasper barked at Sylvanus. "Keep still Jasper. Why are you so antsy tonight?" She snuggled the creature and it calmed down. She began to hum a different tune then the one she had played on her flute. It was calming and overall peaceful. It was the only thing her mother taught her about music.

"Are you coming slow poke? It's my treat and that's a rarity." Terra giggled as she started winding down the stairs towards the main plaza. She'd come to Eden many times and new her way around for the most part. She'd just never been to the central chamber where they kept the scythe of light. Terra contemplated her options as her fingers moved through Jasper's coarse fur. "So should we go for your weapon or mine first? They're both on the west coast, but they're on opposite sides of that coast. So either way it will take some time." She turned and continued to move though she was facing the wrong way.

Sylvanus followed Terra as they went down the stairs onto the plaza, "Well since it appears that you're treating me I guess that it's only right that we start with your weapon then as a small compensation" Terra had certainly calmed down since their first encounter inside the castle, not that he'd made a very good first impression, and he was happy that she had since if she'd be that tense during the entire trip so would it be nearly impossible to focus on their mission. "Woah there!" He said as Terra was just about to run into a person that was in front of her but since she was moving backwards so wouldn't she be able to see them, he lunged towards her and grabbed her shoulders, whilst trying to be very careful not to step on her tail he lost his balance, making him nearly falling on top of Terra, if his spider limbs wouldn't have caught him he certainly would've, his face was merely a few inches from hers as he leaned over her. "Uuuhm" was all he could come up with, "S-sorry about that" He said as he balanced himself back up "We should keep moving"
