Fantasy The Chosen of Seven

Terra did not show fear as the goddess had threatened her. If what she had said was true, then she wouldn't kill her. "A goddess that tries to threaten someone because she doesn't care for this world. What a foolish water bitch." She cursed the water goddess under her breath. Terra had to keep up the smile though. She turned back to her caravan. "Sorry everyone, I guess I have no choice. The ever delightful Lacus has chosen me to wield a katana." Terra realized something from what rumors she knew of the gods. "By the way, doesn't that mean I have to go all the way to the Blue Isles? Ugh. I'm going to need to pack warm clothes." She sighed as she began slithering along. She looked ahead at the group. There were two shifters, a girl with a coon, a human that had a severe attitude problem, a dragonkin that was an information well, an elf with an actually friendly demeanor and a spider hybrid. Did it HAVE to be a spider?! Terra shuddered in fear. She truly hated spiders.

Terra moved SLOWLY at the back of the group with Jasper in her arms. "I just came to get money. Why on earth did I get chosen?" She felt some tears forming at the corner of her eyes. She was so close to her goal with tonight's profits. Jasper could tell she was upset and nuzzled against her neck. “Jasper.” She buried her face in her gnoll’s fur. This was how she hid her tears. Nobody was allowed to see her cry. After a moment she looked up to see that the group had walked away. She could turn around now or keep going and catch up, but it wasn’t some easy choice. She coiled up on the spot, taking a seat.

If I go, I risk dying and making my life meaningless. Not to mention I might just die picking a fight with Lacus. She’s really an insufferable one. All attitude.” Terra finally managed to wipe her tears away. “If I go back, the world runs the risk of dying and the demon lord will rule. Nothing says that it matters to me though. I’ll just keep moving about. Sure, being a gypsy won’t be a good option anymore because nobody will be free, but I’ll just keep doing my own thing.” Terra sighed and looked to her pet and best friend. “Neither option’s that good Jasper. I’m not a fighter, I’m a manipulator, a con, and a cheat. If it wasn’t for my ability to manipulate people, I’d be nothing.” Jasper tried to comfort her again, but it was no use, Terra just wasn’t one for this kind of task.

Her thoughts ran rampant for a while as she finally came to the only conclusion that she could. It wasn’t what she wanted, it wasn’t what the world needed either. She just really had no choice in the matter. Lacus was a cray bitch that would hunt her down to the ends of the earth if she ran away right now. “This whole prophecy and gods thing is crazy, but if I go back now I’ll have to deal with Lacus hunting me down.” Terra sighed, picked up Jasper and began slithering towards the group again. It didn’t take her long to catch up with the group, but she stayed quiet in the back. She didn’t want to be the center of attention for once.

Adruo cringed as the elf began to walk beside her. She was sure she was going to get yelled at for following them. She was surprised, to say the least, when he thanked her. His reason for thanks was confusing. A simple act of asking a question deserved thanks? Adruo was still pondering the thought, but knew not to be rude. "Uh, it's a pleasure." She stated lamely. A silence spread after the elf's next statement. Adruo gave a cough to hide her laugh. "Did you want to help? I'm sure there's something you could do, every blade counts after all." Adruo's face lit up with a bright smile at the prospect of being able to help. She was shot down once again; only this time it was by a human. "I... I know the history of the weapons and the Demon Lord.I know what each weapon can do as well as the demons that will most likely cross your path." She stated stubbornly. She wanted to help the new Saviours, and this was the only way she knew how. She doubted many - if not, any - of them knew the legends as well as she. However, she fell back as the others neared the temple. She hung her head in shame. "Sorry Grandma. I guess I was wrong..." She mumbled.

The gods had led the group to the building that held the weapon of light. It was also the main temple that was dedicated to Aura. As they neared, the light coulomb grew dimmer. Fading until it was no more. Once again, the weapon sat silently on the altar. Aura used her feathery wings to reach the weapon quickly. She took the scythe and ran a hand along it's blade. The pale yellow gem glowed brightly momentarily. The goddess then turned to the tamer that she had chosen to wield her weapon. "I can see and understand your concern." She stated is a soft, gentle voice. "Please remember that you, just as everyone else here, have been chosen because you are more capable than any others." She handed the scythe to the girl. "It is far lighter than what you may expect." Aura said with a smile. It was true; the scythe weighed little more than a hollow bone. "May your light burn strong and guide you and those around you. May your heart remain pure. As you accept this weapon, you accept a great task. Know that the Goddess of Light watches over you." Aura stated very rarely heard words. It was as close to a prayer as one could get from a god.

The gods each bowed their heads to the person whom they chose before fading away. "This is as long as we can stay in the mortal realm without causing strange effects. We will come again once you find our weapon. God speed, Saviours." Semino explained before disappearing completely. The group was then ushered out by the workers of the temple in the most polite manner possible. After witnessing the gods, the afternoon service would be busy.

If those selected looked, they would be able to see Adruo sitting not too far away with a ring of children around her. "That's right." She told one of the children. "The weapon of Lacus is a katana. It's buried deep in the Blue Gem Caverns of the Blue Isles. It gets really, really cold there too." Adruo explained, a huge smile on her face. She looked up to see the group. She waved goodbye to the children and trotted towards the new Saviours. Adruo gave a deep bow. "Saviours, I humbly ask that you allow me to accompany you on your quest. I will do my utmost to aid in any way I can. I have the crest of the legend-teller that has been passed through generations." She held out the necklace that her grandmother gave her. "I pray that my knowledge may become useful to you."

Terra wasn't amused by how Lacus left. She still hated the woman and everything she had done. Jasper ran over to the coon that was with the girl holding the scythe now. She was surprised that Jasper had gone somewhere without her, but going over to a human was very much unlike him. She slithered over and pet jasper, while holding her hand out to the coon. "It's okay little fella. I'm not going to hurt you." She said in the calming voice she used when some people got too rowdy at bars or during one of her shows. It was just a soft soothing voice, but it held the power to calm many a fell creature. She reached out and pet the coon as well as Jasper. She smiled happily, forgetting for a moment about the world until she listened to the dragon kin. "Thanks for the warning miss." She already knew that it was cold in the blue isles. Terra was going to need a way to stay warm and she wasn't happy about it. "Stupid water wench." Terra cursed the goddess under her breath again. As the dragon spoke, Terra just nodded. "Feel free to come along. A good informant is hard to find. And the dragons have lived longer than most. So I say that you'd be a benefit. After all, the gods can't help us out or they'd already have done something besides coming down and choosing us." She hissed a very nasty complaint before coiling up and picking up Jasper. "So, we're stuck together as a team." She sighed. "Aren't we just a group of oddballs. We've got a spider half-breed, Two shifters, an elf that actually wants friends, a human that seems obsessed with blood, a girl that looks like she wouldn't hurt a flly, a dragon that's just full of knowledge about legends, and me, a lamia that nobody here probably trusts because not only am I a lamia, but I'm a gypsy. There. Now that we've gotten the basics established, I'm Terra." She introduced herself to the group. She was still irritated by Lacus and had just let it out on the group without holding back.

Through years of hunting and stalking, one such as himself learned to read the behaviors of the animals he preyed upon. What would seem a subtle gesture to others, were to him warning signs of when his quarry was to spook and flee. This heightened sense is what led the wolf to feel the eyes upon him, to adjust those furry cone shaped ears in order to hear the soft grinding of her ivory white teeth and the almost insignificant change of pace as she realized what she was following. The smell of rapidly decaying flesh of a boar being roasted, filled his senses as they moved past another dwelling causing him to wrinkle his nose and lick at the top of his mouth attempting anything to have it gone. To his reprieve a gentle breeze crept through the street carrying the scent of the cooking meat away leaving a sweeter, more delicate and intoxicating scent to ravage his senses. It took him mere seconds to realize it was her.

The change came upon quickly, taking root first in his front legs. His claws began to grow out and spread, soon taking on the shape of human fingers. The rest him followed in this transformation, his fur began to shorten and shed, his tail grew shorter and shorter until there was nothing left. The young man seemed not to miss a step as the shift completed, and he stood to walk upright. The only hair left upon his form was that of the shoulder length black locks that hung from his head. His skin was smooth and tan, though one would note the scars and bite marks on his arms. The attire which replaced the fur was simple, his shirt was form fitting and black in color, the tightness of it did well to reveal the defined lines of his muscles beneath. A simple pair of loose fitting black slacks hung from his waist, stopping just before rubbing the ground beneath the soles of his leather boots.

Destin didn't care much for his human form, in it he found only pain and strife, but it seemed that most of the other races preferred interaction with him in this form.
Maybe this will put her more at ease. He thought as his pace slowed to match Phoebe's. For him, a meeting between his kind was rare. It had been years since he'd seen another shapeshifter, and not since the death of his mentor had he truly known another. He dare not let himself slip off into those thoughts, not now.

A smile played over the rugged features of his face, reaching from the corners of his slender lips to the corners of his eyes as he turned to look at her. He outstretched an arm, and offered her his hand in a welcoming gesture.
"My name is Destin." Was spoken softly as he looked her over. That smell...Though he would never hunt and eat another shifter, he could not help but be enticed by it. He still could not place the exact scent of her and it was eating at him. His mind raced through the animals he'd tracked one by one, still drawing a blank. Soon enough. He thought, removing it from his mind for the moment.

Mayweather Beckons

Mayweather stared with wide eyes in awe at the weapon now wresting in her palms. It was even lighter than Ezi, who know that she mentioned it was becoming rather chubby, and seemed to be perfectly balanced. Even Ezi paced curiously from shoulder to shoulder, clearly wanting to sniff and inspect the foreign object more closely. After Aura finished speaking, May looked back up at Aura, nodding in earnest. It took her a few moments to find her voice but before Aura walked away, May spoke to her in a soft tone, "Thank you. I'll never give up." Even if times got tough, even too much to bare, May meant what she said with all of the honesty she could have given.

A woman, no a Lamia, walked up to her and greeted Ezi. Ezi was cautious at first, but after a few moments, melted into the light strokes. He certainly was a sucker for small affections. May was intrigued by the woman, never having seen another like her. In fact, Mayweather had never met any other races other than humans. It was a chance to learn about them. Never having kept her thoughts from others, especially ones that would be compliments, she told the Lamia what she thought of her with a friendly smile. "I think you're very pretty." Perhaps it wasn't all based on how she looked but the strength she gave off. Or maybe the way she held herself. Whatever the case, Mayweather preferred to tell a person a compliment when she had the chance because sometimes even the smallest amount of friendly words could brighten someone's day. "Nice to meet you Terra."

Mayweather had not noticed the dragonkin following them but when the girl walked up, she immediately saw something bright in the girl. She was gentle and kind looking. May thought out of all the people around, this girl was probably most like her. When she offered to assist the group, May wondered why anyone would say no to her. Even if such a decision was based on a biased opinion, it would be foolish to deny assistance in such a time. May walked right over to the girl, moving the scythe over to one hand and used the other to take the dragonkin girl's hand in hers and give it a soft squeeze. "It would be splendid if you did come! I, for one, most definitely condone it."

It was all Phoebe could do to not flee the spot, gods be dammed, when she realised the other shapeshifter was approaching her. The fact that he had shifted back into a human did nothing to lessen the sheer amount of stress racking her body. It was beyond shameful. She wanted nothing more than to stomp those disgusting and irrational instincts down, but no amount of self control would keep the beds of sweat from rolling down her back, or keep her heart from beating like Fraiku drums, so loud that she had no doubt the wolf could hear her. It was by force of will alone that she stood her ground.

My name is Destin.

Phoebe blinked a few times, almost surprised at hearing words come out of the man’s mouth. It took longer than she was proud of for her brain to assemble that combination of sounds into a sentence with any sort of meaning. Staring at the man’s smile however, seemed to have a calming effect on her body as it finally began to realise that maybe, just maybe, she wasn’t going to end up in anything’s stomach anytime soon.

Releasing a shuddering breath, she relaxed her muscles and let her gaze fall on the other’s outstretched hand. A frown settled on her brow, musing, and not for the first time, over people’s odd and insistent need to involve physical contact in their social rituals. Alas, it’d be rude for her not to engage in said ritual, seeing as the other shapeshifter truly meant no harm.

Stretching out her hand at an almost snail’s-pace, she grasped his hand, realising too late that she was still a bit cold and damp from her earlier dive into the water, curtesy of Stephen. “I’m Phoebe, librarian at the Southern Archives,” she spoke in the professional but calm tone she reserved to the few interactions she had at work, hand coming up to her chest to rest beneath the emblem of the Grand Library.

Old habits die hard.

It’s a pleasure to meet you… Destin.” Phoebe paused, studying his face and making a mental note of the scars in his arms. Coughing into her hand, she straightened up her back and averted her eyes to a spot behind him. “We should join the others. I fear there seems to be some sort of commotion there,” she uttered, jutting her chin in the direction of the other six.

The smile slowly drained from his face as her words played over in his mind.

" You were the librarian..." He replied. His voice held hints of remorse and sorrow. "I think we all were many things before the naming. What we are now, and will be after... Well, I guess we shall see." He nearly withdrew his hand from the chill of her touch.

He was good at putting on a mask. He'd done so for much of his life and he did so again. That same pleasant smile played over his lips as he looked back to her. "Yes. You're right we should. Would be a shame to keep fate waiting." He was glad to see that she was beginning to relax a little. Her fearing him the entire journey would surely be tiring.

Destin would keep his pace with hers as they walked to join the others. " So, may I ask, what is this other form of yours?"

Phoebe Silva

You were the librarian.

Those four words crashed down on her like a wave. Of course, the wolf shapeshifter was correct. It wasn’t as if this was some new piece of information to her, Phoebe knew what being chosen meant. But knowing and accepting were two very different concepts. Those four words forced her to truly think about what she was leaving behind. A job was just a job, even one she’d had for half of her life, but the Grand Library had been the place where she’d carved out her identity and Almas was her mentor, the one person she’d learn to trust and the only one she had sworn loyalty to.

She was leaving both her home and her friend.

"Yes. You're right we should. Would be a shame to keep fate waiting.” Phoebe blinked, the man’s voice blowing away the storm that had began brewing in her head. Waving off her gloomy thoughts, she nodded and began walking towards the others.

Somethings never leave you, even after every goodbye has been said. This will always be a part of me,” she whispered to herself while touching the emblem on her shoulder, remembering Almas’ words from the day they first met. It felt like a chant, a good luck charm if you will, and it calmed her down somewhat. She wasn’t sure if the wolf heard her or not.

"So, may I ask, what is this other form of yours?

Phoebe looked over at Destin, thinking whether or not that would be considered a rude question, not exactly sure what the social norms for shape-shifters were to begin with. Deciding she didn’t care much about it either way, she replied, “You may. It’s only fair since I now know yours. It’s a giant deer.” Figuring that’d be enough, she didn’t elaborate. Her animal side was far from popular and she’d rather avoid being discriminated against.

Soon they were standing in the midst of the other chosen and the dragon kin girl, though the commotion seemed to have died down somewhat. Her eyes were immediately drawn towards the Scythe; the fact that a small girl could wield it as if it weighed no more than a feather was fascinating to her.

Though his new human shaped ears did not provide the same ability as those of the wolf, he made out the girls whispers quite clearly. Somethings never leave you... This, the wolf understood all to well. He felt this too personal a thought to discuss, even if she did choose to put voice to it. He placed his hands in the pockets of his slacks and stared blankly at the cobblestone road as they walked.

A giant deer. A smile forced its way onto his lips. There was something she was leaving out, something more to her than she revealed. But he wouldn't push, surely she had reasons to hide this. "Such a strange day.." Came as a whisper. "We make a very strange pair, you and I. Who would have thought predator and prey would be united in saving the world from the grasp of the Demon lord." A soft laugh escaped him as he spoke.

It wasn't long before they caught up to their group. The one named Adruo was telling children stories of the blue isles, Terra was heated explaining to the group their downfalls, and a tiny woman held a scythe that seemed it would weigh too much for her to wield. Adruo's knowledge would be invaluable in his journey, and he needed all the help he could obtain. The wolf waited for a break in the chatter and stepped forward. "Greetings to you all." He spoke while his gaze passed from one to another of the group. "My name is Destin, I am the chosen of Semino as you know, I'm sure I will get to know each of you through our quest." He shifted uneasily on his feet, clearly nervous as he spoke. "I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I'm at a loss as to where we should start. Do any of you have any idea what we should do?"

Romon watched as the various chosen mingled and spoke, in truth the elf was relieved everyone was getting along, even if he wasn't showing it much. If the chosen started fighting each other, things were not going to end well. It was because of this he had decided to ignore the human's mention. It hurt Romon's pride, (Yes he has pride) to admit it, but they DID need help. Anyone with a brain could see that. Now he had a purpose, no more messing about with bandits. Maybe it was for the best, although he chuckled after a moment's thought: his hobby was probably going to be on hold for a bit...but hey, the fate of the world was typically a bigger deal then s few wooden figurines. He briefly wondered how the villages he protected were faring. Would they be able to hold their own? Bandits were a problem...He clenched his fists. No, they'd be fine, he cant' distract himself. He had a precedent to uphold here.

He was ripped out of his thoughts when the dragonkin girl spoke, as well as some of the others, offering their names. "My name is Romon, the latest Elven blade, and soon to be wielder of Animus's weapon." He made eye contact with each of the chosen. "As to what to do now, I do believe our Dragonkin friend knows more then any of us of the old stories..." Romon's voice trails off. "I myself do not know much, but I'm willing to guess we don't exactly have much time," He sighs. "I'm open to ideas, the most I can think of is figure out what we can from her." He says, pointing to Arduo. "And go from there."

Romon had his pride. But unlike most elves...he knew when to swallow it.

Adruo's heart swelled with happiness. The Saviours had accepted her request. She might not be one of them, but at least she could be useful. At that moment, she promised herself that she would do the best she could to help. "Thank you. I won't let you down!" She stated with a beaming smile. She carefully took the tamer's hand, worried about her claws causing injury. "Oh! Please excuse my rudeness. I have yet to introduce myself." The dragonkin gave a small bow. "I am Adruo Draiton, the Earth Shaker." She added her title somewhat sheepishly.

"My suggestion..."
She looked at her feet as she thought. She then rummaged through one of the pouches strapped to her leg. "Huh... That's weird. My money pouch is gone..." She shrugged it off and soon found what she was looking for. She pulled out a piece of rolled parchment. She unfurled it and showed it to the group. It was a map of Pangeros. "I think splitting into pairs would be the most beneficial course of action. As you said, we don't have much time. However, going alone would be too dangerous as the Demon Generals are likely to break free of the Core's seal fairly soon. Obviously, going as one group would take too long." Adruo explained her reasoning. She then retrieved a writing utensil from her pouch. She marked off seven spots on the map with an X. "Here are the locations of the Holy Creations. It would be best if those in the pairs had weapons fairly close to each other to save travel time." She pointed to The Great Forest and Fraiku Desert. "The two chosen by Semino and Gaidoku should go together since they're fairly close." Adruo then pointed to Lava Falls and The Blue Isles. "Lacus' weapon and Pyros' weapon are a bit further away from each other, but you two seem like you would travel more quickly than most." She then gestured to the city of Ladesh. "Since you already have your weapon, you can go with almost anyone. However, just the light that your weapon gives off will help in finding Swift Drinker." She said to the tamer who had so kindly accepted her before. Finally, she pointed to the Grand Library. "I can go with Animus' chosen one. I don't know the exact details of the puzzle, but I should be able to help somewhat." She looked around with a worried expression. "Does... does that sound okay?" Adruo asked nervously.

Phoebe Silva

As the dragon kin girl explained her plan, Phoebe straightened her neck and back with a quiet pop and snuck a cold hand under the layer of clothes she had on, stopping only when she felt the hard edges of a book. Fishing it out, her posture sagged once more, neck bowed down as she skimmed through the pages of the notebook, halting at the page with her own drawn map of Pangeros. The tip of her thumb brushed off the dust that had settled over the two islands sketched onto the very edge of the paper.

Fraiku,” she whispered, eyes widening at the coincidence. On one hand, she was more than happy to visit the place where both the founder of the Grand Library and the current Head Librarian had been born. On the other, she could already feel her throat dry up at the mere though of crossing a desert under the burning sun. She would’ve gladly gone to the Blue Isles instead. Alas, the bow was the weapon reserved for her, not the katana, and mulling over things she had no power to change was a waste of energy.

Closing her notebook, she lifted her head up just as Adruo finished speaking. “That’s a well thought out plan and truly seems like the best course of action to take, considering our situation. No objections on my part.” Phoebe nodded at the dragon kin, mindful of the other’s personal space as she moved to shorten the gap between them. “It’s a pleasure to meet you Adruo Draiton, the Earth Shaker. I’m Phobe, libra-“ At that point she paused, shooting a side glance at the wolf shifter. “Just Phoebe is fine,” she mended, moving a hand to cover the badge on her shoulder and clearing her throat before processing. “Before we part, I have a favor to ask, if it’s not too much trouble.

Opening her notebook once more, she fished out a quill with some left over ink and wrote a quick note. The page was torn off, folded and then handed over to the dragon kin. “Would you please give this to Almas? She is the Head Librarian at the Southern Archives. Tell her the Ghost sent this. She'll be sure to help you herself in any way she can in regards to the puzzle.” As an after-thought she added, "Don’t let her hard exterior fool you, her heart is as soft as they come.” A smile pulled at the corners of her lips, gone in a blink as it fell back into a firm line.

Terra shuddered. This whole day was accumulating to very harsh realities. First off, she'd been chosen to fight a demon when she had no desire to do so. Secondly, she was chosen to wield a weapon in a place that was subzero in terms of temperature. Now they were to split up and she had to travel with a SPIDER. Terra bit her tongue hard enough that it bled a little. She had to fight back every urge in her body telling her to run or to argue. There was no point in it. It wasn't going to end well is she did.

"S-S-S-Sure thing Arduo." Terra took several breaths to calm herself down. "That plan sounds fine to me." She was lying through her teeth, but thanks to her natural skills of conning, it sounded, for the most part, truthful. She slid a bit away from the dragon and looked over at her soon to be travelling companion. She shuddered as she looked at the legs growing out of his back. You can do this Terra. Do it so you can get back to achieving your goal. Worst case scenario? You ditch him somewhere and say you don't know what happened. She put on her best smile as she slithered over to the hybrid. "Hello, I've already introduced myself once, but allow me to introduce myself properly. I'm Terra, also known as Queen of the Gypsies." She hoped that the spider would reject her handshake out of distrust for her, but was 100% sure he would. Her fear continued to eat at her while she looked at him.

Severis was not amused. The others had decided to just accept this weak girl, not even chosen by the gods, just by the merit she knew a bit about the Divine Weapons? This was ridiculous, but there was nothing he could do about it other than fume and hope to be rid of her soon, since the others had allowed her in. He was backed into a corner. Earth-shaker? What did a dragonkin girl like her do to deserve such a title?

Now, though, this took it to another level. She was telling them what to bloody well do? She didn't even have a weapon of her own to find, she had no right to be here, and she was telling them what to do? What made it worse was the partner that he was given. The small girl, barely over five feet. The one who had her weapon already, but it was several feet her greater, easily. What the hell was she even doing on this mission?

"Are you trying to be funny? You want me to be partnered with this little girl? Why the hell are you even on this mission, tamer? What could you do that no other of your kind can?"

Mayweather Beckons

Mayweather could only back up a few steps at the man's harsh tone, directed towards her with a rage should could not grasp, and blink a few times, not knowing what to say at first. Ezi scrambled around on her shoulder, hiding his face in her hair. Now that the question was brought to attention, she realized she didn't have an answer. What made Mayweather special? Her father used to answer that question all the time but May was certain those were kind things a father always said to their daughter. She knew there were a few things she could mention but being under the man's hard gaze and harsh tone, she felt she had to give him an answer at least or she really wouldn't be worthy to go on this journey. "I... I can make wonderful herb poultices and teas! If you get a stomach ache or a cut... well, I'll fix your pain in a jiffy! A-And I can make nice foods." Her voice began to even out and she regained some courage. May took a step forward and met his eyes. "And maybe I may not have special powers and maybe I'm not very big but I won't ever give up! Not till the end. Not till the demon is defeated and we can all go home and tell our children this story one day and our grandchildren too! Aura chose me for a reason, mister! I have just as much right to be here as any of you. Just cause you don't believe in me doesn't mean I don't," She exclaimed, taking a breathe after her long speech. Realizing she might have offended the man or possibly shown hostility, May took his hand gingerly in her own as a friendly gesture, something she did to many. "Please accept me. I will go either way but it would mean a lot if the person I was to journey with accepted me too." She half expected him to rip his hand away and turn his back on her. But she also knew everyone was capable of some sort of kindness.

Romon looked at the altercation with a frown on his face. This human was trouble...he hoped the small girl could bring him to bear. He glanced over to Arduo with an eyebrow with a questioning glance. She had already felt the human's anger. Was it possible that she had paired beauty and the beast as the saying goes? Romon chuckled softly. This Dragonkin was smarter then she was letting on, even if she didn't know it. Romon spoke to the group as a whole, deciding that if Mayweather couldn't calm him down...they should at least be busy. "Sounds good to me Earthshaker, I suggest we travel immediately. We have little time, back what things you must and leave as soon as possible." The elf's words were calm and relaxed, hoping to dussuade any more complications. Things were tense enough as it is...he didn't want to make things worse.

His attention then turned to Arduo. "Earthshaker, is there anything vital you must take before we leave this place? I must admit I don't have much to travel with but the clothes on my back, so I have little to collect." He pondered for a moment. "Is there perhaps any family you would like to say goodbye to before you go? While I agree you may come, I do wish to stress that we are going into something few of us truely comprehend, are you prepared for this?"

This seemed to be just ask such a joke to Severis. She was trying to claim that she was suitable for the team by simple merit of having some heading ability, and she could cook? Well, thank goodness for that, the Demon Lord's armies would tremble in fear at the great healer and chef, that also looked about fourteen years old.

But he felt himself beginning to cave. He never had felt guilt for beating a man senseless, no remorse for killing a family in its entirety, but now he was experiencing that for the first time. He truly believed what she said about never giving up, despite her woeful inadequacy in battle and stature. And when she looked up at him with those large eyes... he couldn't take it any more.

"Agh, FINE! We will work together if we must, but I will not allow you to slack, and we move at the peace I set, understood?"

Destin looked on in mock amusement as the human declared himself the leader of his group, and the better of his partner. His teeth remained clenched, the muscles of his jaw flexing in an attempt to barricade the words that wished to flow from his mouth. As each toxic word spilt from Severis' mouth like sewage from a drain an ember of anger grew within the wolf.

The image of his mother took form where the assassin stood, a childhood version of himself taking the place of Mayweather. His mothers lips moved as Severis moved his, the voice that echoed as he spoke was one Destin had not heard in many years. He felt the sting of each insult as if they were aimed at him. Lengths of black hair fell to cover his face as he shook his head lightly from side to side, and blinking a few times brought him back to reality.

His eyes narrowed as he looked on, the red and blue hues of each taking a deeper shade of their respective color. The veins in his neck pulsed in time with the increased rate of his heartbeat, his knuckles took on a bloodless white hue as he balled his hands into fists at his side. This is not your argument. The shifter repeated to himself. It's not your place. The recipient of the mans irrational words seemed to have her situation under control. Though it may be warranted, if Destin were to involve himself the confrontation would escalate. This was something none of them needed.

Forcefully, he tore his attention from the two and turned to face Phoebe and Earthshaker. "I would welcome her as a traveling partner." Try as he may, his voice still held hints of the fury he was trying to let go. "I think it would be wise to travel to Fraiku first. That is, if you're ok with it? I assure you there will be no such nonsense, on my end at least, as we are witnessing from him" Without looking the shifter pointed towards the obnoxious man announcing his superiority.

Mayweather Beckons

At first, by the expression on his face, Mayweather figured he might reject her or get even angrier. She closed her eyes and prepared for another onslaught of words but was surprised when she heard something entirely different. Her eyes flew open and a smile spread across her face. "Thank you! Of course,I understand. You won't regret it, I'll make sure of that," May promised, fixing him with a sincere look and gently squeezing his hand. After that, she pulled away and fixed her attention on the weapon in her hands. It seemed to be watching her, observing her... Her fingers traced lightly over the strange metal and over the blade, her eyes full of wonder. Stealing a glance at the man she was meant to travel with, she wondered if maybe he would teach her how to wield such a weapon if they ever did have free time. May doubted it though and continued to stare at the scythe. Perhaps it would teach her... A silly idea but not completely insane.

Sylvanus listened as the goddess of light spoke and she, along with the other gods departed. As he walked back with the rest of the chosen ones he listened as the small dragonkin girl approached them, giving them tips and suggestions in how to do their work, she wasn't even close to being prepared for even a small fight, but since he didn't really have any better ideas so did he decide to follow her plan, even though he was paired with a lamia, the absolutely most decieving of the races. As he was approached by his travelling partner and she held out his hand he grabbed it, however as he did it he threw his legs towards the woman's throat, stopping their razor sharp edges mere inches from penetrating her. "Now listen to me here miss, I have interacted with more than many of your kind before, most of those meetings have led to me getting a dagger in the back, however never has that dagger peirced my skin since I've always killed the wielder before they even got the chance to pull their weapon out of their sheathe, so before you even get the slightest idea of causing trouble for me during our mission, I swear that I'll end your life before you even know" Sylvanus spoke with a calm, yet threatening voice, he would not let anyone stop him, especially not someone who'd been assigned as his partner, when he was done he pulled back his limbs and turned towards the exit. "Now then, let us depart"

Terra couldn't breathe as he shook her hand. A spider was near her and it terrified her to the point of no return. However, he went too far when he put his legs near her. "GET AWAY FROM ME!" A twist and a pink flash, her tail went flying towards his rib cage. She couldnt comtrol herself as the fear made her move, but it was the move of someone who could fight.

"I HATE SPIDERS! HATE EM HATE EM HATE EM!" She was full freaking out now. "I cannot do this trip! Lacus, youre insane. Arduo, youre insane too. Im going to the blue isles solo." She started slithering away in a blatant panic. It wasnt a happy day for her, nor was it going to end well for her if she travelled with that beast.

Adruo beamed once again as most seemed to agree with what she had suggested. She had expected far more resistance than what she got. The human chosen by Caedis was very vocal about his opinion, but the dragonkin just assumed that he didn't like her. He had stated his thoughts on her joining previously. Adruo guessed that he was irritated that she was persisting anyway. There were more pressing matters to worry about though.

The dragonkin girl carefully took the folded paper from Phoebe. She offered a warm smile in return. "Thank you Phoebe. I'll make sure to remember that." She tucked the parchment in-between other, much older looking pieces. She was glad to see that the shapeshifter pair seemed contented to travel together. The man also seemed eager to leave the petty quarrel that was taking place between the humans.

The quarrel in question caused Adruo to furrow her brow in worry. She had paired them together because she assumed that - as humans - they would get along better than with others. It was either that, or she would go with the male. Since he seemed to hate her, that was out of the question. Despite Adruo's assumptions, the male buckled surprisingly quickly to May's determination. Perhaps May was the best companion for the other human. He was in need of some pure, honest... honesty. Adruo wasn't so blind to others that she couldn't see that simple fact. The man had trust issues and half.

At least her partner, the elf, was happy enough. His words were polite and quite formal. Adruo held back a small sigh as yet another of the group called her by her title. "Just Adruo is fine." She said with a small smile. 'I could have just not said anything. I've been trying to get people to stop calling me that for years now.' She thought with slight shame. Adruo gave a moment to ponder the question that Romon posed. "I don't think I need to pack anything. I was hoping to buy some food supplies, but we can easily enough gather food along the way." She said with yet another smile. "Family? No there's... Actually, Mother might be in the city. The Royals were called here, right? She should be nearby then. If you don't mind, I would like to go tell her what is happening." She requested as politely as she could, even giving a small bow. Adruo had been around enough elves to know how they loved their formalities.

Her head snapped up when she heard yelling. She hadn't been paying attention to the others as she spoke to Romon. All she saw was the lamia lashing out at the hybrid. Adruo didn't think before using both her legs and her wings to leap forward with tremendous speed. She only just made it to block the blow, but not enough to block it well. The powerful hit as well as her previous momentum sent Adruo sprawling backwards. She skidded along the stony floor, scraping any exposed skin. She gave a small moan in pain. Terra could pack a punch, to say the least.

Romon was enjoying conversation with the Dragonkin, althoguh he'd have to check himself constantly to call her by her full name. In the world of elves Romon was used to referring to titles first, especially since he had little time for conversations. It was nice to actually speak to someone...Adruo. He'd try and keep her name in mind. Not reverting to earth shaker was going to be a challenge against Romon's formal nature. He nodded along as she spoke. "Gathering food sounds fine by me. I must admit I do not have much in the way of coin...I mostly gather for myself as it is." Contacting her mother? Romon saw no problems there. He remembered back when he left his own home, saying good bye was just something he had to do...he couldn't imagine leaving them otherwise. "Sure thing."

Romon would have acted faster then Adruo if not for his back was turned in their conversation, and in the time it took him to spin around, Arduo had already taken a hit from the gypsy Lamia. Cursing his own inability to repsond in time, Romon was almost instantly by her side. Whatever the gypsy had done...it was effective. He knelt down to check she was alright...which she sort of was, at least. Before giving her a reassuring nod and stepping forward. "Hey! What's going on here!?" He looked between the Gypsy and the Spider Hybrid, assigning no blame, simply looking for answers.

Sylvanus turned around as he heard he sound of the lamias tail coming at him, he ignored her screaming at first since it wasn't the first time someone had hated him, but the aggresive act made his instincts react. However before he was able to react so did the young dragonkin girl throw herself in the way, this action was most unexpected to Sylvanus, he'd never been protected by anyone before, no one had ever shown him anything but despise and hate just like the lamia. Once the girl had stopped tumbling over the corridoor and they were approached by the elf he just responded with "Ask her, she's the one who swung first" And then walked over to the girl, kneeling down to her. "Why? Why did you do it, why did you protect me Dragonkin? I could've easily blocked it, or even taken the hit if I had to"

Terra was quiet. Her fear of spiders and outright inability to control that fear caused her to send the poor dragon girl flying. "Im leaving. Forget Lacus and this mission." She mumbled before slithering off into the city.

Terra foind herself unable to return to the caravan and so she roamed the city. She looked to Jasper who was still beside her. He was the only one that understood her fear of spiders and whh she couldnt stand them.terra managed to find herself on a balcony overlooking the rest of Eden. She smiled as she watched the sight. "The beauty of the world as the night continues on. The heart sees the beauty of the shadow while the brain only knows the fear." She mjmbled to herself as she continued to watch on without moving. Jasper tried to get a reaction from her, but there was nothing that he could do to get her out of this slump. She was battling herself.
