Fantasy The Calm After War (Always Open and Accepting)

Bailey O'Connor & Queen Anora
War Room
"With all due respect, you don't seem to understand the gravity of the situation. Going to war is something all of us here want to avoid," Bailey said, repositioning in her seat. The Orc's leader didn't seem to be the most...understanding of sorts, but maybe if they could drag this along a bit, he would finally see the sincerity. It had been almost an hour, and they really weren't making much progress.

From behind them, the councilmen scoffed, wanting a glare from the Queen. His scoff also didn't go unnoticed by the Orc king. "What? What is that about?"

"Councilmen, you will not answer that."

"No, let him. I want to know."

Lyklor stepped forward, "Well, without naming anyone, someone commented earlier that Orc's weren't the brightest. They are brutes, and uncivilized," He paused, takinf yet another step forward, trying to conceal a smirk. "I'm only realizing that they were right."

"Lyklor, that is quiet enough! I won't have you insulting-"

"I see." The way the Orc leader spoke, with a low, almost growling like tone, everyone in the room knew what Lyklor had just done. "These talks are over. You should know what this means." There was a sudden sound of shattering as his com stone broke, and the five were left alone.

Bailey stood, a grim look in her face as she steoped away from her chair, before she grabbed Lyklor by the collar, dragging him down to eye height. She glared daggers right into his eyes, "War."

Herah Addar

She had just been alerted to the outcome of the peace talks, and was tasked with retrieving her's and Bailey's armor. Herah would have been bummed about the results if not for the urgency it meant wasn't needed. But now, her and Bailey were about to be sent to Lathbora Viran to start preparing immediately. However, on her way to the High Prophet's wing, she ran into Ari and Chloe, and a woman she didn't remember. To try and give Bailey a few minutes of processing what exactly was going to happen, she greeted Ari with a smile. "Goodevening Sir Weasmor. Are you enjoying the castle so far?"

Ryan had been with his sister for a while, whenever he got overwhelmed by people or music he found her, she usually was calm so it relaxed him. He saw Raven and whimpered slightly, getting really anxious. When Willow started questioning him he began to cry. He ran back to the ballroom and crawled into Arabelle’s arms. “Mommy, there’s a scary thing in the hallway!” Arabelle frowned and picked her son up. “Okay, honey.” She went into the hallway and saw Raven, and how Willow was drawn to him. She was a little wary so she walked closer. “Excuse me Sir, who are you?” She still had Quinn on her back.

"Well when your presence can literally make him sick, I wouldn't be surprised. Just a word of warning. It's not you, but the magic you give off," Ari said. "My oldest are a lot less judgemental." He took Raven into the Waesmor Chambers with Arabelle and the kids, older and younger, waiting. "Oi, Arabelle. This here is my friend. You can both go through the formalities. I'm starving for something other than h'orderves, crackers, and cookies.........Come, Chloe." Ari walked off to go find the kitchen for some actual food. Magic burns calories like hell
"I want more cake, Master," Chloe said, walking beside Ari
"Ick. You need more than cake, Chloe.......but since you did well, I'll let you have some more cake."
Chloe squealed a bit at the prospect. Her sweet tooth was insatiable and she needed a sweet fix. "Thank you master!" She was grinning as she said it. Ari couldn't help but smile.

Willow Waesmor

Willow walked up to Raven as soon as Ari left. As Ari said, she was instantly smitten with Raven. Awestruck. She bombarded him with questions with no particular direction to them. It was like she'd met an idol and her brain was just generating static. Being someone of darkness, Willow had absolutely no shyness when it came to them. It was just overwhelming curiosity, just like with the shadow girl attached to Arabelle. "Ahhhh. Are you an ancient demon? Someone was fighting Daddy.......did you win? Was it a good fight? What was it like in Ancient Times?"
Being someone of Darkness, how would Ryan react?

In the halls, Ari and Chloe encountered Selra. She wanted to know about the test Noam mentioned. She meant the grueling 5 minute survival test that Ari was infamous for. "Oh, Selra. I'm about to go and eat first if you want to join. Afterwards, I'll be up for another fight to see where you stand in your current magic knowledge and abilities." He picked Chloe up and put her on his shoulder. "I'll pick your brain a bit about the happenings of your home country so I can know more. Come. You can get some food on me. These nobles don't feed people real food."

“I’m not a demon, just a vampire, although I was married to one of the most beautiful and powerful demons of my time” laughing at her reaction to him he reached down patting her head lightly “Unfortunately I lost the fight, despite my best efforts your father bested me. But if you must know I did end up driving a large spike through his belly, if it wasn’t for where we were fighting he would have certainly bled to death” a big grin on his face “But I do think if we were both being serious our battle could have easily lasted for days with it ending in a stalemate, now you must be....Willow....and” pausing as Arabelle inquired as to who he was, standing up straight he bowed “you must be Ari’s betrothed, it is a pleasure to meet your aquaintance. I am Raven Crost, King of the Northern fortress Grustag....”

Arabelle relaxed when she saw that Ari was there. She bowed as well. “Good to meet you. I’m Arabelle Waesmor, and I see you’ve already met my husband and daughter. This is my son, Ryan, though I’m sorry that he seems upset. He is filled to the brim with light magic, and your dark magic makes him really nervous.” She put Ryan down and cupped his face in her hand. “I know this is scary, so why don’t you go find Tyler and Scarlett or Alison, okay?” Ryan hugged his mom and nodded, running off to find his friends. Arabelle stood again and put her hand on Willow’s back, rubbing it.

Luna had been watching the fight between Ari and Raven, having gotten bored with the festivities. Something odd struck her about the battle, the way Raven fought and spoke seemed so familiar to her. Following Raven and Ari to wherever they were going she snuck up behind Raven to get a better look at the back of his cloak. “F-Father....” she mumbled under her breath, tears filling her eyes as she rushed up closer, hugging Ari on accident. Unfortunately during the ball and a rather left footed dance partner her glasses had been stepped on and she was nearly blind as a bat. Hugging Ari and nuzzling against him she laughed “I thought you had died during the war!!!” She exclaimed happily.

Herah was walking the halls and they ran into her. If Herah was out, that meant she knew something about the peace talks. This meant either things went well or things went south and Ari would be strapping on armor soon enough. For now though, he focused on the thing at hand. Neither of them were much for small talk, and it was highly likely that Herah only asked it to be polite and not because she actually cared, so he cut to the point immediately. "Aye. Good place, bad party...... What's the update on the peace talks?"

His thoughts were shattered as someone random hugged him, proclaiming to be his daughter. "Oi, I messed around a lot before getting married, but I don't produce vampires. I don't freaking know you."

Willow, Elaina, and Noam Waesmor
Waesmor Guest Chambers

Willow was awestruck yet again. That meant he was the first to get that close to actually winning against Ari. "You must be REALLY strong then. Was it you who used the violin from hell and conjured all the dead? That song was amazing!" Willow was far away from the fight, so her knowledge of the violin and its use in the fight was a testament to how sensitive she was to Dark Magic. "What other weapons from hell do you have? I have....." She started counting on her fingers. "The 13th!" The thirteenth weapon of hell was the Grim Reaper himself. Summon him to instantly kill someone with an unblockable swing. It was an unspeakably powerful spell, one that a mis-summon could end in the caster's death, and that not even the most talented of Dark Mages could summon more than once if at all. Willow could fire them off like bullets and not even realize that she's doing it

"I've been making use of the training facilities. There is no such thing as a day without training for me. Even a single day lost could be catastrophic. And to my happiness elves do not dissapoint with their training. And here I was thinking they were a bunch of prissy individuals who hated the idea of fighting." She had no idea what Hera was but she was friendly enough. But she could tell when Ari mentioned peace talks she had the feeling something was up. "Duel can wait Mr.Waesmor."

Kylesar1 Kylesar1 FireMaiden FireMaiden

“I am strong, but I haven’t had any blood in so long that I am not at my full strength” glancing up at Luna for a moment he smirked “I did play that very violin, but for someone so young I am surprised that you could specifically identify which of the thirteen it was” standing back up he examined Willow for a few moments, trying to figure out if Ari feared the child any, someone so strong at that age was astonishing, to use the thirteenth weapon as if it were child’s play? Placing his hand on Luna’s head he pried her from Ari “forgive me Ari, it would seem that my daughter did not perish in the battle....I would recognize her smell anywhere...and the uncanny resemblance to her mother...”

“Ow! I’m sorry!” She exclaimed and quickly bowed to Ari “forgive me Sir and....oh no I hope I didn’t make the miss think anything inappropriate” basically begging for their forgiveness for her actions. “My glasses were broken earlier so my eye sight isn’t...” pausing she leaned over sniffing willows hair for a moment before licking her lips. Not long after that Luna was hit ontop of her head by Raven. “I wasn’t going to drain her magical power! That would hurt her or worse....to harm a child is only something a beast would do!”
P Paint The Wind Kylesar1 Kylesar1

Arabelle at this point was very confused. “Wait, what?” When she saw how Luna acted towards Willow she immediately scooped her daughter up, rubbing her back and holding her protectively, her eyes narrowed slightly. She may be out of shape from not fighting for seven years, but she would fucking kill anyone who touched her daughter. She kissed the top of Willow’s head. “You okay, baby?” She looked at Luna and still was angry. “Don’t touch my daughter,” she growled.

"That's actually why I'm headed this way. I'm getting her armor, the peace talks were...well, they failed. Me and Bailey are being sent to Lathbora Viran within the hour," Herah explained, rubbing the back of her neck. "It's fine," Ari said, swallowing is annoyance to be polite in this Elven Palace. He and Herah were discussing some life/death shit. He just couldn't be bothered with whoever this was. "If you all don't mind, this talk here is important." He shut the door to the room, all of them except Selra on the inside. She and Chloe just stood by near Ari

"Sounds like someone fucked it all up and it wasn't Bailey or the Queen. A man can dream, but she needs to let me kill them......." Ari shook his head. The councilmen in the party hated Bailey and they were some of very few people in the Elven half of the talks, so Ari already figured who it was. "I know you can't delay much longer, but do you know the plan for us? We did come in with you and Bailey."

When Selra mentioned the duel can wait, Ari seemingly ignored her. However he spoke to her telepathically. It'll have to unfortunately. We're going to war soon. Since it keeps getting delayed, I'll just consider you accepted. We'll still need to duel, but I'll start teaching you the moment we get some free time.

Willow Waesmor

Willow was confused about what happened with this newcomer. She wasn't scared, but confused when Arabelle asked if she was ok. "I'm not hurt mommy," she said with a reassuring grin before turning back to Raven. "I know..........all 13 by name. Daddy taught me. He said it'll help me control it. It........causes problems sometimes, but I try my best." It was referring to her heavily unstable magic. The only reason it wasn't leaking now was that she was talking to Raven. Had his daughter tried something, however, they'd have gotten a first and probably last look at just how unstable it was. Her head cocked to the side in confusion suddenly. "Why didn't I see you before?" In other words, why didn't I sense you all this time? Why did he just pop up suddenly in the middle of the castle?

Alison Foster
Waesmor Guest Chambers Bathroom

With Uriko thoroughly washed, Alison stepped out to see Arabelle confronting someone about a breach in personal space. Causing harm. She drew her sword and walked up. "I don't know who you are, but if Ari let you in, I assume he gives you the benefit of the doubt. Don't do anything else questionable, or I'll have to do extract you," she said seriously. Alison NEVER joked when it came to the safety of the children. That was what made Alison Alison. She didn't really need to protect Ari, as she couldn't get anywhere near defeating him. She was gonna start dusting Arabelle's sword cobwebs off soon so she could get back to swinging like she used to. The children though were the most precious of precious cargo and Alison would not have them harmed. This had nothing to do with her job and everything to do with her motherly instinct. "I'm the Waesmor Bodyguard and Maid. Please don't let this become an issue again, Mr. Raven. My master hold you in high regard."

Misty flew into Tyr's room and looked around. Lots of Alcohol and no Tyr. Oh god. Ari told her to go make sure he didn't drank himself to death. With all this alcohol, he would surely die.........at least that's what Ari always told Tyr. Oh geez, this was bad. She not only loved Tyr, but Ari told her to keep him from dying. If he was dead then........that would be 4 heartbreaks in a night. Losing Tyr, Ari being hearbroken, Arabelle being heartbroken, and then her being yelled at for letting him die. No no no! "Tyr? Are you dead? Where are you?" She flew over to the window. No dice. He didn't fall. Where was he then?

"Of course. If it means anything I will be of as much help as I can. Mr.Waesmor is my instructor so it's up to him what we do. In other words. Where Ari goes I'll follow blade drawn. And ready to crush whoever crosses our path. Though I'm not sure if this means much. Given none of you even know me." Selra wanted to inspire hope but due to her not even being known her word meant nothing. And she just had to swallow her pride and accept that. "But I do promise to help. I may not know magic but I am a warrior."

Arabelle nodded and kissed her forehead. “I’m glad you’re okay, my lovely.” She adored Willow, even if she didn’t always want to be with her. She always worked to take care of her and maintain a good relationship with the little girl. She rubbed her back while Willow continued to talk to Raven. She was also holding her to keep her calm in case Luna tried something, since they had all experienced how dangerous Willow could be several hours before.

A loud snoring would begin to come from the bathroom. Upon closer inspection, Misty would see that Tyr, after fixing himself a hot bath, had fallen asleep in it. Luckily, he wasn't completely naked, since he was still in a pair of dark red boxer shorts. He was dangerously close to rolling over and drowning in the warm, soapy water.

"Please, this is not the time for a petty argument, we don't have the time."

"Your highness, please, your the Queen not a child."

"I can be both!"

Bailey pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed, "Look, let's just...Lyklor you're dismissed, me and the Queen will wait for Herah to return. Gather everyone back in the ball room, we'll make out announcement there, understood?"

"Yes milady." He and the other councilmen promptly left the room, passing a man he didnt bother to learn the name of. "You there!" He called, "Go stand watch over the Queen and High Prophet." And then, he bagn to carry out the task given to him by Bailey. Kallo Kallo

Oh god. Oh no. Oh geez. Misty looked around frantically. Should she tell Ari she can't find him? Bailey? No, it'll cause panic. Wait.........what was that? Misty was on full paranoid guard as something caught her ear. She started moving towards the source and then started to recognize the sound, with a sigh of relief. That was Tyr's snoring. She pushed open the cracked door and found Tyr asleep, but about to drown as his face was about to go in the water. She needed to wake him up, but she couldn't fit in the door frame or the bathroom in massive form. She elected to stay in the room and do her work from there.

She turned massive and inhaled. She blew out focused wind. It would blow out all the water in the tub and then blow all over Tyr's body, which would make him feel like he was freezing, like he had just gotten out of the tub and gone into a much colder room.

"I'm sure Tyr is more than willing to see Bailey if she's about to lead a war. Still, take care and move fast," Ari said. He turned to Selra. "You heard her. As much as I hate it, we'll be waiting for the greenlight to get in on the fight. That means you can skip my test for an easier one. Fighting in a war. You live, you pass and I'll most likely be watching over all of you from afar........from my little nest egg, destroying brains." Ari pat the bow on his back. He'd likely need another one and a crossbow as well. A crossbow wasn't his forte, but it would make for faster sniping than a longbow. A shortbow was for if he needed to actually get on the field at mid range.

Raven’s ear twitched a bit, at this range he could hear everything going on in the meeting room. “Forgive my daughters actions please, we mean none of you any harm, I consider Ari a good friend” kneeling down he pulled Luna with him “she would rather kill herself than do anything to harm a child, neither of us have fed in a very long time so we are both a bit on edge” after a few moments Raven stood up helping Luna stand as well. “Willow the reason that you could not feel me before was due to me being sealed away in a different dimension” smiling he sat down on a nearby chair, a warm and gentle smile on his face. “If you ever wish to hear stories I would be more than happy to tell you some”

Luna feeling bad held herself and leaned against the wall. “Lady Arabelle, If there is anything that I may do for you or your.....war....but that means people could get hurt....” hearing what was said in the meeting room she started to cry at thought of homeless children and families being torn apart.

Slowly, a small teenage boy in a red coat approached the former Dark Assassin. He was only 5'6", but looked like he was in his mid to late teens. He was clutching his knapsack, and was staring at Ari with wide, awestruck eyes. Possibly the strangest part of all of this was that he wasn't an elf. He was a human.
"O-Oh jeez.." He stuttered, whispering to himself under his breath. "Are you Ari Waesmor..?"
