The Angel's Baby

Cas' blue eyes widened a bit, before blinking, "Hello, Dean."

BuBu waddled beside his friend, then quacked at Cas.

"Aww..." the angel cooed as he bent forward to kiss Dean's forehead. He was so cute...

BuBu jumped onto Dean's lap and ruffled his feathers, before he curled up on the former hunter's lap.

The angel's heart warmed, "Be careful when BuBu's mother comes around, he's her baby too." It was so adorable to see Dean kissing a little duckling...and it would've never happened if Dean hadn't been Cas' little one.

Immediately shooing the angry mother duck, Cas kneeled in front of Dean and moved BuBu down on the grass, so the duckling could still sleep. Wrapping his arms around Dean, the angel shushed the younger's whimpers, "It's okay, Dean. You did nothing wrong."

Taking his baby into his arms, Cas shushed Dean and bounced him a bit. Hopefully next time, BuBu's mother would understand Dean didn't want to hurt her little one.

BuBu woke up, and looked around for his friend. Seeing Dean clinging to Cas, the duckling waddled over to them and quacked, flapping his wings again.

BuBu flapped his wings, before almost shaking his head. He was too young to fly yet.

"He will someday, Dean," Castiel explained.

"When?" Dean asked, frowning slightly, sad that the baby duckling couldn't fly yet. How was he supposed to follow his mommy? What if she flew away and left him.

"When he grows old enough. His Mommy will wait for him, and then they might fly off somewhere. But since they're ours, they most likely won't," Castiel answered.

BuBu quacked in confirmation.

Wordlessly, Castiel brought Dean back into the house, and sat the younger in his highchair. Tying a bib around his baby's neck with a kiss, Castiel fed Dean some easy-to-eat foods.

"Such a big boy," Castiel praised, kissing both of his baby's cheeks. Soon Dean would be a toddler, or rather the beginnings of one.

"But you'll always be my little one," Castiel reassured, ruffling Dean's hair while he cleaned the kitchen up a bit.

Picking up his baby boy, Castiel nuzzled Dean and carried him to the living room couch. Cuddling Dean closely, Castiel stroked the younger's hair.

While Dean was asleep, Castiel read a book for the first time in a while. Being a Daddy was hard work, and didn't leave much alone time.
