The Angel's Baby

Dean slowly opened his eyes, and took in his new surroundings. Everything was blurry, and fuzzy. The room was a soothing pale blue, with little animal decorations on the walls. Dean looked around, and saw that he was surrounded by tall, white wooden crib bars. He whimpered and started to cry. He was scared and confused about where he was, and to top it all off, he had a full, messy diaper, and was forming a nasty rash underneath it all. Dean flailed his arms, but hit the bars of his crib everytime, with his mittened hands. Poor Dean’s face was turning red, and his chest and throat were hurting, because he was crying so hard.

Cas was in for one hell of a day....

Hurrying into the nursery upon Dean's crying, Cas frowned as he saw the former hunter's flailing and red face. Quickly taking Dean from his crib, the angel shushed him as he started to change Dean's diaper, making sure to add extra rash cream. "Shhhh. It's okay, Dean. Please try to breathe," Cas murmured, wiping the tears from beneath green eyes with his thumb.

The blue-eyed angel had always wanted a baby. Someone to care for, love, and shower in affection and comfort. Make all their worries vanish and rely on their caretaker. And so, Cas had picked someone he knew could use this: Dean.

Amazingly, Dean started to calm down, his crying ceasing, until it was no more than the occasional whine or whimper. It was so amazing how Cas could calm him, just by speaking to him, in that sickly sweet tone, that reminded Dean of how most mothers would speak to a newborn baby. It made him feel....special, unlike any way he'd ever felt before, and he liked it.

Blue eyes filled with warmth and Cas smiled softly, "There you go." Taping up Dean's diaper, the angel scooped him up and rubbed the younger's back in small circles before taking him to the kitchen for breakfast.

Sitting Dean in a special highchair, Cas ran his fingers through the dark blond hair before tying a bib around Dean's neck. Getting a bottle and some baby food, Cas started to feed his little one.

Dean opened his mouth obediently for Cas, patting his mittened hands against the high chair tray, excited to be fed. Dean was living the good life, now. He didn't have to worry about hunting those demons or monsters, anymore. Sammy took care of that, and Cas took care of him. But Dean wondered if Sam even knew about Castiel doing this.

When Dean ate all of his food, Cas smiled proudly as he wiped the mess from the younger's face. "Good job, Dean," he praised. It seemed like Dean was taking his regression really well, and that's what Cas had hoped. Having a resisting and fussy baby wouldn't be easy.

But it wasn't long before Dean started fussing, a whine escaping his mouth, and his mittened hands smacking against the plastic highchair tray, as Dean squirmed in the seat, held back by the straps buckled over his chest. He wanted out of the highchair, so he and Cas could have their cuddly time.

Frowning slightly, Cas shushed his baby gently before taking Dean out of his highchair. "I know you want to cuddle, Dean. I know," the angel said, as he carried Dean to the living room and sat on the couch. Wrapping his arms around Dean, the angel kissed the dark blond's head.

Dean smiled and let out a gurgle, leaning against Cas, and looking up at him with a cute smile, gently grabbing at his tie, playing with it innocently. Being a baby was fun, because you can make just about anything into a toy.

Letting Dean play with his tie, Cas continued to cuddle his little one. This was so much better than being up in Heaven and dealing with it all. Here, he had the simple yet complicated responsibility of taking care of Dean; his baby.

Dean giggled adorably and looked up into Cas' soft blue eyes, reaching up and curiously patting at his stubbled face.

After a while, Dean started to get fussy, squirming unhappily in Cas' arms, wanting to be put down, so he could move around a bit.

It took Cas a bit to notice how the regression ritual had also taken a toll on Dean's motor skills. But it made sense, with mentality came physical ability. And it was rather cute how Dean's bowlegs spread apart even more because of the padding between his legs.

Returning the smile lovingly, Cas sat down on the ground beside Dean and kissed the younger's forehead. "That was very good, Dean," he praised.

Letting the former hunter have fun with his tie, Cas smiled softly. It was a cute sight to see, green eyes sparkling and bright, and an adorable smile.

Running his fingers through Dean's hair, Cas nodded along with the former hunter's babbles, letting Dean know he was listening.
