Cafe' moments

Masumi nods "Great!" She exclaimed. She admitted to herself, she could get used to coming to this place every morning. It was a nice way to relax before the day started. The two drinks came, and each girl grabbed a cup. Before she took a sip, Masumi brings the cup close to her chest and takes a wiff. Letting the sent of fresh coffee fill her nose, with a hint of sweet white chocolate. It warmed the tip of her nose. Looking down at Lilian, she noticed a slight change in the color of her pale cheeks as she took a sip. Maybe she wasn't as emotionless as she first thought. Wonder filled her, who was this girl? Masumi smiles as she also takes a small sip. The hot coffee burns the tip of her tongue, but she doesn't care. The smooth taste of coffee and chocolate enveloped her mouth, then down to her belly, warming everything to, from, and in between.

Nodding in agreement with Lilian, she also takes the cup and holds it close. "
It's really good!" She exclaimed, taking another sip. The same sensation swept over her. Coffee was the only thing that she craved in the morning. Looking back down at the short Lilian, nods. "No problem. That's what friends are for! Well, kinda.. Maybe that was a bad example." She started, only progressing to think out loud. When asked if she had a class next, she snaps out of it. Shaking her head she replies. "No! And even if I do, I can make it up." She say's. Nodding in agreement she starts to walk to the table outside.

Lilian wondered what people talked about when they were with friends, seeing as how she hadn't had many comparisons to chose from. She had acquaintances back at the other schools but they were all humans and she couldn't really get to now them, for obvious reasons. The average human wouldn't really think being half demon to be a normal thing, and most likely they would have freaked out when she actually showed them what she meant by demon powers. However, such a thing here isn't such a big deal...all though demons are still seen as inherently bad due to bad press from countless years of bad eggs. Her mother Anastasia the 'Deep Dark' is widely known for being quite the bad A, and demons chose to simply steer clear to not cross her.

She sat there wondering but eventually chose to simply speak, silence seeming rather unproductive. "Is your family interesting?" She had heard that to get to know someone all you needed to do was understand their family to some degree...something about them being a reflection of who raised them. In Lilian's case this was rather accurate, her pretty much seeing her mother as a large influence on who she had become. So in that case she wondered if the same was applicable in Masumi's case, her figuring that this would at least be something to talk about.

Once seated, Masumi happily sipped on her coffee. Spring had just begun, so it was still a little cool. The wind was blowing gently, causing some newly leafed tree's to rustle near by. Tilting her head back, she stared at the sky, a few clouds had gathered and were traveling along with the wind. Closing her eyes for a moment, she takes it all in. It was the little things in life she enjoyed the most. Sitting back up in her sit, she takes another sip of the coffee as she looks over at Lilian. From what she could assume from a blank face, she seemed lost in thought. She open's her mouth to ask what she was thinking about, but is blind sided by a question instead. "My... family?" She repeats. She takes a deep breath before begging.

"You could say that."

She starts. Her family as far as she was concerned consisted of her mother and father. "My mother is from the underworld, and my father is from the human world." She explained. "My mother was very kind, as was my father in the beginning. We were happy." Her smile slowly started to fade into a blank expression. She never liked talking about her family, things had gotten worse between her mother and father the older she got. "Last year they had a argument over weather or not to keep sending me here to the academy. Father thought it was to dangerous to send me. He threatened to take me away and get me a 'real education'" She said using air quotes with her fingers. "Whatever that is..." She whispers to herself. Looking down at her cup that rested on the table. "Ultimately they left it up to me, where I wanted to go. I chose to keep coming here, I like it here. I never fit in at the other schools. But later that week, my father told my mother he would have no part in his own daughter's death and left." She takes a deep breath. "We haven't heard from him since." She sighs and looks back up at Lilian and lets out a little chuckle. "I tore my family apart. Its funny. Most other students have to worry about their parents ripping their heads off. Mine are just overprotective." She says looking back down at her cup. "Stupid hu? I bet you were expecting something cooler." She looks back up with a smile.

Gears awoke in his new bed. He had gotten in late last night was too tired to do anything but change and sleep. He sat there in his dorm room with a shirt and underwear on "Yaaaawn! Bloody hell" he gets up and unpacks his gear. He lays a bunch of strange mechanical parts on his desk before changing into his school clothes. The standard boys shirt, pants and jacket except the pants where too big the shirt and jackets sleeves where rolled up and the first four buttons from the bottom of the jacket where done while the first three top buttons of the shirt where undone. He sits there checking over himself in the mirror "Yeah. looks fine" He pulls his shoes on and stumbles out the room into the main room of the boys dorm "Wow.Thats cool" When he had arrived it had been too dark to see and he was too tired to care about anything but sleep at the time. He ran his hand over the fine wooden bookshelf's that someone had put and extra ordinary amount of effort into. He sighed slightly when he found the one at the far end had one rather deep cut in it "Don't worry. I will fix you soon enough!" He turned away and headed outside into the court yard where he does a little spin looking around for something "Where can a guy get some grub around here..."

"I guess I'm not the only one with one... hell... of a life..." The voice seemed to carry on the breeze rustling through the trees. Dante had chosen to perch himself in a tree to people watch, sitting on one of the branches and leaning back against the trunk to relax.

Now... of course eavesdropping is generally considered rude, but he wasn't listening, he was observing. He couldn't hear anything over the rhythmic beats pumping through his headphones, much less a conversation. That didn't stop him from reading lips, however. Unaware those he watched may have heard him speak, his mind wandered back to his younger days...

He had the perfect family life, a loving mother and father, a house, everything a child could want...

Dante shook his head, clearing the thoughts from his head before they could become painful, sitting up and stretching his dark wings before wrapping them around himself to keep off the early spring chill in the air. Turning his gaze back down to the two girls, he found himself once more inexplicably lip-reading their conversation. Curiosity had a grip on him now, it seemed...

If either of them were to look to his perch, they could easily overlook him, his wings melding with the shade afforded by the branches above him. Only his head remained uncovered by his feathers, his dark hair tied back into a half ponytail and his ears obscured by the headphones upon his head.

Lilian listened without changing her expression as Masumi continued to explain her family a bit, although Lilian didn't know about parents separating such as that. She glanced up as she thought she heard something up in the trees, it sounding like someone talking. She thought for a moment weather or not to do something about it but decided to simply ignore it, seeing as how what or whoever it is seems to just want to observe. With that in mind she replies to Masumi's last statement, "Stupid, why would that be stupid?" She pauses and then double blinks, "Losing one parent over such an idiotic reason, if he wanted to protect you he would have stayed behind to make sure you were safe."

She takes a sip of her drink and then adds with a slight shrug, "Although I am not an expert on such things mother and father are still together in my case," she pauses and then says with a light nod, "Regardless, I do know that you are not responsible for the leaving of your father, to me it sounded like it was his choice and you chose what was best for you. He should have accepted that." The words that Lilian had spoken were perhaps a little blunt and hurtful in a way but she always says what she thinks, lying not being something that she does. To be honest she couldn't see leaving someone like her father did, even if she was livid...leaving someone you care for because of your own selfish reasons isn't a solution. It's cowardly.

Charlotte seemed to "happy" by Mike's response by the ever so slightly change of expression that was barely noticeable. Less then a few moments passed before he announced his departure. Mike left almost as abruptly as he arrived and soon Charley was stood by herself once more. The brief encounter was new to her, was this is the allegedly "small talk" that everyone seemed to hate so much? She could see why.. well kind of.

Deciding on making her own way to the cafe', Charlotte managed to only get lost twice this time round. Ordered an iced tea, because hot tea scares her, and seemed to be lost once more. She was unaware of choosing a sitting place due to the face that she neither had friends nor any idea of where it was "acceptable" it sit. Four days ago Charley found that sitting in the birdbath was not sociably acceptable and sent to the headmaster's office for a disciplinary talk that last only a few.. hours..

Gears stopped spinning and held his head, clearly dizzy. He manage to get a glimpse of a map on one side of the courtyard. He walked over too it and began perusing the utility's that the school offered "No...no...no...a cafe? probably got food" He set of into the school in search of the famed cafe. He came to the shop in no time and walked in. It was a quiet little place with no more than four or five people in it right now. He headed for the counter "Hi! Um can i get a cappuccino with two sugars please? And a toasted ham sandwich? Thanks" he took a seat next to one of the windows and relaxed. New schools where scary and not knowing anyone was scarier. When his order came toke a sip of the coffee before taking a bite of his sandwich. He sat there for a second before putting his hand flat on the table. He then lifted it to reveal the wood shifting into a perfect cube. He repeated this, shifting it into different shapes and sizes while sipping his coffee and eating his sandwich.

The grip around her cup tightened as Lilian spoke. It didn't make her uncomfortable or upset, just sad. She hadn't seen her father for a year now, she missed him dearly. But, most of what Lilian said made since. Again, looking down at the cup, Masumi wonders why she had entrusted this with this girl. This girl that she just meet. That she knew so little about. Maybe it was because it felt like talking to a pillow, or empty chair. Her expression never changed, she never judged. Or at least she couldn't tell if she was judging her. Nether the less, it was nice to talk about it with someone other than her mother. Also, Lilian was more sensitive than she thought. She still didn't show any emotion, but was talking more. Masumi smiled at the thought of Lilian opening up to her. Listening to her, comforting her.. Kinda. In her own way. She found her cheeks growing warm, weather it was from the coffee or something else, she didn't know. "Thanks." She said reverting to her old cheerful self. "It's actually nice to hear coming from someone else." That was enough being depressing for one day.

"
Soo, what abou~" She started to ask, leaning back in her seat. Before she could finish, she was interrupted by a voice that come out of what seemed like no-where. Stopping, she looks up to see a bird looking thing sitting there. Had, he been there this whole time? Feeling her whole face start to heat up, she leans back a little to far in the seat and fall's backwards. Again, the ground retaliated "~WAM!~" as she hit it. Her coffee, had launched from her hand at this point and headed straight for its target. Moments later, it hit. Spilling hot coffee all over herself. Masumi let's out a small squeak at the sudden feeling of hot liquid all over her. "Owwwww..." She moans quietly. For a moment, she just laid there. Not sure what to be upset about. The fact that again, she looked like a fool. The fact that someone overheard one of her most personal stories. Or the fact that she spilled her coffee, and it was now burning her. Quietly, she gets up, and puts the chair back where it once was, and picks up the now empty cup.

Dante blinked in surprise, seeing the girl fall from her chair and take a rather impromptu coffee shower. He sat up a little straighter, his wings unwrapping from around him and folding up neatly on his back as he scooted out further on the limb, his curiosity, once more, getting the better of him.

"You alright? That looked slightly painful... Almost like-"

Dante found himself interrupted. The branch, although able to hold him whilst he sat close to the trunk of the tree, was not quite so sturdy when he was further out on a limb. Branch snapped, sounding almost like a gunshot before he fell face first onto the ground after smacking a few branches on the way down...

".... falling out of a tree...." He finished his sentence, rubbing his sore nose as he adjusted his headphones on his head.

At first sight, most people tended to mistake him for an angel, or at least a fallen angel, given his black plumage. It was a common mistake. People tended to forget Sirens had wings too. To be fair, most people didn't think about male sirens anyway...

He pushed himself up to his feet, dusting himself off. Now that his wings were back, his attire could be seen for the first time. Besides his headphones, he was wearing black jeans over steel-toe boots, both slightly worn and now dusty from the fall, and a matching muscle shirt with slits cut out of the back for his wings.

"Clearly... I did not inherit a Siren's grace...." He said it mostly to himself as he picked out a twig from his half pony tail as he laughed softly at his own misfortune, a smile on his lips despite the fall.

"I suppose I should at least introduce myself... I'm Dante, sorry for startling you... Most people don't even notice me when I'm sitting up there..." He remarked, running his fingers through the unrestrained part of his hair to clear it of any additional foliage he may have gained during his descent.

She was about to say something to Masumi but was interrupted by the individual that she figured was around, it seeming like he lost his footing or something. Lilian didn't get up from her chair, she simply looked over at Masumi and took a sip of her drink finishing it up. It seemed that the loud crash from the guy falling didn't even startle her, oddly enough. She stood from the seat and placed the cup in the nearby trash, her looking over to the new person, he slightly nodding, "My name is Lilian," she pauses and looks over to Masumi and figured that she was probably not enthused at being spyed on, or was she? Such nuances were tough to understand for her, especially between species and race.

She simply decided to announce her name, "This is Masumi." Lilian could tell that the guy was probably not listening in due to the headphones, which didn't make him an eavesdropper. She glances over at Masumi and notices that she has the drink spilled all over her, Lilian simply double blinking at the sight. She however didn't odder any sort of emotional reaction though, "You seem to be alright Masumi."

She pauses and reaches over to Masumi, and runs her finger over her cheek grabbing some whipped cream and then licking it off her finger. Lilian then states with a nod over to Masumi, "You're sweet." This behavior was obviously odd, but well Lilian isn't exactly normal...so yeah...

Gears sat there and watched the whole event unravel. He had stopped shifting the table when a girl, who looked frightened more than anything, hit the deck hard. His eyes then catched what she was looking at...fall from a tree. This big winged, headphone wearing 'Angel' he wanted too say, was now introducing himself. Gears chuckled to himself as he sipped his coffee "hmhm...Fallen angel" He looked like he had and idea and put his coffee down as he shifted the table again. This time he used more matter and made what he thought was a bit of a work of art.

It was a sculpture of a girl falling off her chair with her hand outstretched into the air as a elegant looking angel descended holding out his hand. It looked vaguely like David and Goliath.

Gears sat there sipping his coffee and admiring his handy work.

Blinking twice at the siren now standing before her, she doesn't say anything. She turns and throw's the empty cup in the garbage then turns back. "Yeah, I'm fine." At least she thought so. She felt fine. At this point, Lilian had taken the courtesy of introducing Masumi for her. Masumi sighs and looks over at him, it's not like he meant for her to spill coffee on herself. He probably was just in the wrong place, at the wrong time. It also happened, that Masumi was there at the same time. With a unenthused look on her face she offers a small wave to him. "Hiya.." She whispers. She didn't know if he could hear her with those big headphones on his ears. Probably not. Sighing, she picks a napkin off of the table and makes a sad attempt of drying her uniform off. Which, obviously was not working. Defeated, she throws that in the trash as well. At this point, she figured she would need to go back to the dorm, take another shower, and change. Which probably meant homework, another late night, and more coffee. Which was not in favor of her today apparently.

Sighing, she is about to walk off. Not wanting to create even more of a scene in front of these people and Lilian. But, Lilian did something that made her stop. Feeling her heart skip a beat as Lilian reached toward her, she wondered what she was doing. It was, strange and unpredictable. Lilia ran her finger over her cheek, and revealed whipped cream. Masumi herself does the same thing, looking at the white, sweet treat on her finger. Again, looking up at Lilian. '
Sweet?' She thinks to herself. She smiles and bursts out laughing when Lilian licks it. Taking the whipped cream on her finger, she runs it down the tip of Lilian's nose. "So are you." She chuckles to herself.

Dante smiled a bit at the greeting before remembering his headphones. He forgot he had them on most of the time, and that people usually assumed he wasn't listening.

"Oh, I should probably explain.... I may not be able to hear you, but I'm rather adept at reading lips." Dante explained, before taking notice of what the two girls were doing.

-Well... I did NOT see that one coming....- He thought to himself as he watched Masumi leave a bit of cream on Lilian's nose. He had assumed, given the way they were talking, that they had only recently met, but instead it seemed like they were far closer than he had initially thought... Far closer...

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed something change, and his gaze shifted over to a statue in front of a rather proud looking young man.
"Is.... that supposed to be us?" Dante inquired, pointing it out for Masumi to see before turning his eyes back to her so he could see her response.

For some reason... everyone always thought he was some kind of angel.. It got rather annoying. After all, he was virtually the furthest thing from an angel. Offspring of a demon and a siren... No way in hell was he an angel. Oh well... at least the statue made him look kinda awesome...

She sort of glanced over at the statue thing, her not really getting why someone would make that out of a perfectly good table. She figured that it was the guys hobby or perhaps a compulsion. Never the less she went cross eyed at the whipped cream on her nose, "Seems that I am." With that said she looked back over at the winged guy, it seeming like he was indeed eavesdropping. She figured such a thing was rude or at least that is what most people seemed to attribute rudeness to.

With that in mind she glanced over at Masumi and then pointed out before she could respond to the guy, "That will stain if not dealt with." Quite frankly she knew all to well what spilling something like that on you would do, being an avid eater of coco things has it's perks sometimes. Lilian simply nodded to the winged guy and said with composed and emotionless tone, "She should really change before her classes start." Lilian didn't know that she was probably being a little blunt but it would take a bit to get ready yet again, her turning to Masumi asking with a slight tilt to her head, "I need to go to the dorm anyway, I will accompany you Masumi."

Things have diverged quite a bit from what she expected of the day, which isn't a bad thing in her mind. Change is good a good thing for Lilian, she in fact enjoyed new experiences and so far today has been full of them.

Looking through the window,at what Dante was pointing at, Masumi's face turned slightly red. "Noooooo, don't be silly." She excused it. He probably was just a artist working before school, right? Yeah, it had to be. There was no way anyone could work that fast anyway. Looking down at her uniform, the hot coffee had turned to what seemed like ice cold coffee now. Still, the whole situation wasn't that bad anymore. Actually, it was pretty funny. Lilian mentioned that the coffee would stain, which was true. It was hard to take her seriously with whipped cream still on her nose. Though she had many more uniforms in her room, it was still probably a good idea to go change. "Yeah, probab~" She starts, realizing that Lilian said it out loud. She was really blunt about most things wasn't she? But it still was the truth. "Yeah, I really should." She said, holding the bottom of her shirt and looking at it, then back at Lilian. Again, she did this little strange head tilt or hers. Nodding her head, Masumi agrees. "Sound's like a plan. I have a few spare's in my room." She explained. Turning she starts to walk away, stops, turns back and waves to the siren. Just because she was covered in coffee didn't mean she was going to be rude. "I'll uh, see ya around. Probably.."

"Sure, Odds are I'll be up a tree somewhere, but I'm usually not hard to find" He waves to them as they walk away with a smile on his face.

Until that is.. he heard that dreadful sound.... The bell ringing to start his first class of the day..

The smile faded instantly into a look of horror.... His first teacher was notoriously strict, and punctuality was mandatory for survival. The last person that had appeared late.... Dante wouldn't wish that fate upon his worst enemy....

"IF I'M NOT DEAD!" He cried out turning towards the school. "My class is on the opposite side of the school... and the bell already started... only one way to make it on time now!" He spread his wings and kicked away from the earth, his body a blur as he gained altitude above the treetops before a loud explosion echoed in the sky above, rattling the windows of the cafe as a sonic boom signaled the siren's departure.

Gears watched the coffee covered girl walk away from the cafe towards the female dorms. He looked at his master piece for a few more seconds before placing his hand over the top of it. What looks like electricity arks away from his hand as the statue shifts back into the table. He finishes his sandwich and just sits there drinking his coffee.

"I wonder what mum would think...Maybe i should have asked to sit with em..."

His thoughts, and the windows, where rattled as just after the bell rang, the man with the wings disappeared from his sight with ,what sounded like, a booming explosion.

He grabbed his table and stopped it from shaking before finishing his coffee.

"Well might as well go to class..."

@Ellie the Knight

Lilian caught the sound of the siren guy freaking out and the sound wave, her not turning to look as they walked away. Her current class scheduled is rather lax meaning that she has more free time on her hands, it being because that during her Freshman year she got a lot of the needless classes out of the way. In that aspect she is glad that she attended last year here, if she didn't there would be a lot of uninteresting classes that she would have to take on top of her current year. This school is a good one but it does seem like the punish you for transferring in.

She looks over at Masumi as they approach the girls dorm complex, "This was enjoyable." She pauses as they enter the building and then, "I am on the second floor room 211 if you are in need of me," she pauses and starts walking up the stairs ahead of Masumi, "I look forward to the next meeting." The whole time she didn't crack any expression, which was pretty much expected from her now. Although as she got to the top of the stairs she turns back to Masumi and gets the whipped cream off of her nose, licking it off of her finger with hint of red appearing on her cheeks, "Sweet..." After that she vanished up the stairs to her room to retrieve what she needed for her next class.

Not just another day

---

Walking back to the dorms with Lilian, they stop at the stairs to the entrance of the building. Masumi nodded in agreement. "Yeah, it was fun!" She said. This probably was the best morning she has had all year so far. Feeling happy that she ran into someone literally for once. Walking up the stairs a bit more, she stops when Lilian stops and looks back at her, giving her room number. "I'll make sure to come to you if I need ya." Thinking for a moment, she returns the offer. "Sames goes here, I'm on the first floor. Room 124." She told her. For a moment, she wondered what exactly Lilian's room even looked like. It was probably clean and organized, with a mini-fridge full of chocolate. "Same, let's make it soon!" She yelled after her. Continuing up the stairs, she stops one last time as she looks up at Lili. Who takes her finger and wipes whipped cream off her nose, then licks it. Maybe she was crazy, and just seeing things. But Masumi could have sworn she saw her blush for a moment before she diapered behind the doors. Either it was from the coffee, or something else... Masumi smiles to herself, if luck was on her side maybe, just maybe... Fallowing behind Lilian, but instead of going upstairs, she heads to her own room and gets ready for the day, again, and still, she didn't have time for her lamp.

@Mediocritys Muse

Lilian had made it back to her room, her having to stop by to acquire a few things she didn't bring down earlier this morning. Her room had white walls and the desk and shelves were black, her bed was covered in a red satin like blanket oddly enough. Other than that there wasn't much in the room that stood out, other than the shelves of books. "Oh there it is," she said as she picked up a binder that had a musical symbol on the front of it. She didn't have a class this period so she is going to do what she usually does during this time. This being the only time of day that the music room is free of classes, and it is a very quiet and peaceful place to spend some time to yourself.

With the item acquired she makes her way out of the room and down the stairs, the rest of the students rushing to make it to their classes. She makes it to the music room right as the final bell rings, her looking around and seeing that the place is once again vacant. Lilian places the songbook on the piano open and sits down on the bench her blinking a few times before starting a piece. ((

)) As she is playing she hums along, this side not being one that she shows in her day to day life. Her mother guided Lilian to take up music at an early age because she felt that she had what it took to excel at the art.
The atmosphere would have exemplified the experience if anyone were observing her. The light trickling in through the tightly shut blinds, and the sound echoing off of the sound resistant walls of the room would only add to the experience. Lilian is in the musicians club at the school but she never goes to the meetings, one of the Sr students in the class heard her play one day and pretty much just signed her up.

Alexandria's morning had been pretty hectic, having to wake up at the ridiculous time of 5 in the morning to make sure everything was take care of, she didn't want the first day of school for everyone to be crazy or disorganized. So after she got herself a morning cup of coffee, she began to get to work immediately, getting everything tidy and clean for both the campus and the classrooms that had been missed over the summer, the first day of school usually made a lasting impression on many in her opinion, she knew it did for her. That's why she enjoyed the school so much, she had had great first days, and so wanted everyone else to get that same treatment. She passed by one of the mirror of the school and noticed her hair, it was messy. Alexandria sighed a bit before taking out her brush and taking a few minutes to get her hair in check, then tying it into a long pony tail.

After finishing up on making sure everything was going according to plan, she finally got to go get something to eat while everyone else started to interact with each other. A smile drew itself across the girl's face at that sight, she needed to start interacting herself later on. But right now, food. She was starving. Once she entered the cafeteria, she grabbed a good breakfast of pancakes, sausages, eggs, and toast before sitting down and taking her time to enjoy her meal; putting in her earbuds to listen to some of her favorite music, from the age appropriately entitled
    The British Invasion.

Alexandria finished her meal just as the first bell rung, she was quite surprised at that. Usually she would be done by the bell for second period, but not like it mattered for her. She was only really taking two classes this year and both were Ap classes, so they were every other day. Most of her free time during school would be spent on making sure all the tasks for the Student Council would be done. Since this was the first day of school, she had pretty much finished up everything she had to do today, and so made her way to her favorite place to go take a nap, the band room. Usually it was either extremely quiet, or beautiful music was there to lull her to sleep; it was really nice in her opinion.

When she got to the band room, she noticed that someone was already there and was playing the piano when she opened the door. Silently she closed the door and walked in quietly while her eyes remained on the girl, a small smile appearing on her face. The way the small girl was playing the piano was beautiful, just beautiful. This was the reason why she liked it here, you could always find something different that would be just amazing. Then she realized that she had seen her before, she was all alone the last time she saw her; what a shame really, the white haired girl seemed like someone who would make for an interesting friend. After a few minutes of listening she went up to the small girl,
"That was beautiful, where'd you learn to play like that?" Alexandria asked the girl as she approached her, a friendly smile on her face as a greeting.

Gears strolled out of the cafe and his thoughts returned to him "Mum did say i should at least try...Next time ill ask...maybe..." He hadn't really had much outside contact or socializing skills since his mother died. He didn't mind tho, he new he would make friends eventually or he hoped because it was going to be a pretty boring year if not. He thought about that winged guy and how the girls looked at him. He was the pinnacle of the 'Bad Boy' stereo type and Gears was...well...to friendly for that.

He walked into the door to his first and only classes for today. Engineering and automotive studies. The workshop for this place was huge with everything he could ever need. Any form of technical work you could think of was in this building. From Wood work to metal fabrication. From systems engineering to automotive studies. It was all here. He learnt that this place also dubbled as the school repair place for the students. They would bring in things like broken bikes or violins and the students here would fix them.

Gears got the run down before being told he can pick up one of the dead projects in the back all on pellets.

He ran to the back of the workshop to find marvelous things that hadn't been finished yet. And the one that caught his eye was a motorbike that wasn't finished being repaired.

He asked the guys to pull it out using the forklift and then he set it up on a stand and went to work.

"God i love this place..."

Ryan, in a state of confusion, woke up in his bed. He had been out to maybe three in the morning doing some crazy stuff with a few friends. He remembered punching a hole into a wall with his metal skin. He smiled stupidly to himself as he sat up. The room was dark but he reckoned it was probably time for class.

"Oh no I'm gonna be late!" he said in a sarcastic tone before bursting out in laughter. He swung his legs to the ground and stood up. He wobbled a bit but caught his balance quickly. Ryan pulled on some clothes and grabbed his hat and placed a chrome ball, a clear ball, and a bouncy ball. His three favourite things to take on. His skin then turned to a soft stretchy substance -The bouncy ball. His arm stretched out about five feet and he opened the door. He stretched his legs another five feet and stepped out, his height growing to about seven feet tall.

Ryan made his way out into the courtyard and tried to make the decision of going to class or pulling a prank. He paced back and forth, his stretchy body swaying in the wind.

Classes

---

After an eventful morning, a second shower, and another pair of clothes. Masumi was ready for her first class. Looking over at her bed, coffee stained cloths sat on the floor next to it, as well as her lamp now. Cleaning would have to happen after school. As the bell rung she walks out of her room into the lobby, then out the front doors. Back into the courtyard she walks past the fountain this time. A few students still stood around, making conversation, or skipping classes. Silently, she walks past them all. Her bag held close to her, she climbs up the steps and disperses into the school's main lobby. Often not late, she wasn't used to the quiet atmosphere that surrounded her. The halls were empty and quiet. The first, and only class of the day was the Art of Fire. Taking a right, she walks down the empty hall, passing other classes already in session. Math, Science, Writing. All boring, and dull subjects. Lucky those classes were all tomorrow. Today, this was her only class. Stopping in front of the door, she reaches to the handle and opens it. "Sorry I'm late." She apologizes to an empty room.

There actually wasn't a Art of Fire class, let alone any pyromancy class on campus. It was strange, but the closest thing she could find was Chams and Spells. Which, were very different from what she did. So, with a few weeks of negotiation with the headmaster, he allowed her to have a day to practice, and learn on her own. Until they found a teacher and enough students to take the class. Setting her schoolbag down against the leg of a desk, she pulls out a old, decrepit looking book. Singe marks along the cover, and sides of the pages. Putting it on the desk she turn's to a bookmarked page. "
Let's see.." The sound of muffled music came through the ceiling from the music room on the floor right above her. The melody was soothing, and reassuring. Standing there for a moment, she listens a little more, but time nagged in the back of her mind. Already late, she looks back down at her book, and starts looking over the new pyromancy she was trying to learn. Thinking back on the memories of her and her father sitting at the piano together. Of course, she was terrible and never learned how the instrument worked. But it was a nice memory anyways.
