Morgan watched the exchange between Chase and the woman he called Ashley, smiling politely and keeping aside. She looked over the two other women seated on the bench and gave a shy wave when she was introduced. Chase directed her to the pew and she took a seat, tuning aside and crossing her legs so she could face the three women Chase was still speaking to.

Mackenzie smile and nodded to Emily, though was suspicious, when Chase settled and questioned why the men were seated elsewhere she slid forward in her seat to speak to them only, not wanting to raise her voice of the low din within the chapel. "Eli's an asshole." She explained simply, though her dark eyes traveled back to Emily. "I didn't know you have family near by, Chase. I'm glad he was able to get a hold of you on such short notice." Mac directed her comment to Emily, honestly hoping to catch them out. She suspected this 'family member' was a wolf like Chase, though short of touching her with silver, she wouldn't be able to tell.

Ashley-May frowned at Mac's sudden kindness directed towards the stranger, she knew the hunter was up to something -she certainly didn't go out of her way to be kind to strangers without a purpose. Ash was happy when Emily replied to Mac, clearly unfazed by the hunters stare.

"I'm down here visiting friends, actually. They just had their first born and I came to help them out. I was about to head home but then Chase called and told me about Joe." Morgan smiled and looked between the three of them, eyes falling to Adelaide; she'd been quiet and Morgan thought maybe she was simply shy.

"Well it's nice to meet you Emily, I'm Ash, and that's Mac," She nodded to the red-head at the end before patting Addy leg beside her. "And this is Addy." She paused tilting her head back across the isle. "And those two watching us are Will and Eli." She glanced around the room briefly before settling back on Chase. "Most of these people are the Council and their families, but the nurses from the Clinic are here and the Lunch Ladies. Bart just came in. Everyone is here for Joe; he did a lot around the colony, met a bunch of people."

Adelaide watched the exchange with interest, maintaining the friendly smile. Mackenzie's explanation at Elijah's "exile" came as no surprise, though she was mildly surprised by the friendly greeting that followed, wondering if the woman suspected the same thing Addy already knew. If she was half the Hunter Will made her out to be, she had little doubt that was the case. But Adelaide wouldn't be confirming that any time soon -- Joe's service was hardly the place for confronting a werewolf. And in any case, she wasn't sure that was the right move. Addy watched as "Emily" replied to the petite Hunter without missing a beat -- she could sense some apprehension there, though it was well-hidden. Still no ill intent, however. As Ashley-May pointed out the various Colonists present, Addy nodded slowly, looking to Chase.

"I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to meet him," she said quietly. "I've heard he was a great person. He saved my friend's life, after all."

William watched the conversation happening across the aisle curiously, slightly frustrated that he couldn't make out what was being said between the distance and the murmur of other visitors between them. Elijah noted his focus and cleared his throat. "You can go over there if you like," he said quietly. "I'll stay over here... away from Ash."

Will simply shook his head. "I'd rather give Chase his space for now."

Elijah arched an eyebrow. "You want to give him space or you're afraid to speak to him?"

William's jaw clenched as he spared a quick glare at his partner before turning back to the rest of the chapel.

Chase was amused at Mackenzie's words about the wheelchair bound Hero of Vitae being an asshole. Before he could question further however he suddenly found Mackenzie grilling at Morgan, carefully and unnoticeable to those who might not be hunters or something similar, but still clearly looking for something. Chase gave the red-head a look as if asking to back-off, but Morgan came up with the quick response and explanation as to who she was. He had to hand it to her, she covered herself nicely for someone who wasn't used to this kind of scenario.

Chase simply nodded to confirm the fake story, turning back to eye Mac. "Luckily the last mission I left to do sent me straight in her direction." He'd decided to give her the information she desired without making it obvious to the other two women listening. But at the same time it was a warning to stand down, he wasn't about to have anyone and everyone questioning Morgan no matter the reasons. Chase turned briefly in Morgan's direction to give an apologetic smile in the event she caught on and wasn't a fan of what he'd done.

Ashley pointed out that the council members were coming, which sought to irk Chase. "Of course they are." Chase mumbled in a rather annoyed tone, eyes shifting over the girls heads and glancing around the room as if searching out who were the council members before shaking his head. As far as Chase was concerned the council played a part in Joe's death as well, so for them to be here at his service. Well lets just say Chase was far less enthused about being here. However when Adelaide started speaking he set his attention back on her, he knew little about her other than Mac and Will trusted her enough to bring her to their meeting.

The near strangers words were enough to bring him back down a level and he huffed, giving her a smile. "He saved his fair share of lives, including my own. Wasn't one to gloat on it however, so I'm sure if he was here he wouldn't be happy with me saying so." Joe had saved his life by not taking it the day he was born, by not abandoning him to whatever pack he'd come across. No, Joe did what Chase suspected few hunters would have in the mans situation. He'd taken the bastard Werewolf child and raised him as his own, gave him a chance at life. One Chase had no plans to squander now that the man had passed on. "Thanks for coming."

Mackenzie narrowed her eyes at Chase's reply; Emily's had been smooth, almost seamless and it's near perfection -and the fact that the woman didn't seem the least bit bothered by her questions, made Mac more and more suspicious. However Chase's tone and his comment made it far too clear to Mac that her line of questioning was not appreciated. Before she could press the issue, get a distinct confirmation of what she assumed Addy was speaking about Joe. She glanced to Will and Elijah before sitting back within the pew; biding her time. There would be a wake and reception afterwards and more than enough time for her to flesh out the wolf in sheep clothing.

Morgan gave Chase a thankful smile when he made eye contact, as much as she was doing well -or so she assumed, most of this she had thought of prior to coming to the colony. A backstory so she wouldn't be caught off guard. Of course the simpler the story the better, but there was only so much she would be able to cover before she was fumbling. It seemed Chase's answer was enough to stave off the red head and she decided then to try and avoid the woman going forward. She glanced to Addy as she spoke of Joe, happy to hear how well respected Chase's father was, though given the son that he raise; she wasn't all that surprised.

Ashley-May shifted within the pew uncomfortably, once more suffering from a hormonal rush from the Nephilim. She was slowly starting to understand which feelings meant what sort of craving. Dry mouth meant she wanted something cold -ice chips or ice cream. A mild headache and she needed a nap. At the moment she could feel her temperature rising, between the closed proximity of the sheer number of people inside the chapel to the uncomfortable pews; she knew she needed to cool down. As she was about to rise and excuse herself to take a walk outside the minister and director were heading to the front of the chapel; asking everyone to take their seats.

"Good Evening, and thank you all for coming. We are here today to pay our tribute and our respect to a man of God, our brother, Joseph Keaton. Not only have people from this congregation and community gathered, but many ministers have come… ministers who have respected Joe as a hunter, and have loved him as a friend. To know Joe was to love him!

We are here today to show our love and support for Joe’s very precious family. Not only have we sensed our own personal feelings of loss over Joe’s passing, but our hearts have been drawn toward them, and will continue to be with them.

Finally, we are here today to seek and to receive comfort. We would be less than honest if we said that our hearts have not ached over this situation. We are not too proud to acknowledge that we have come here today trusting that God would minister to our hearts, and give us strength as we continue in our walk with Him.

It is our human nature to want to understand everything now, but TRUST requires that we lean and rely heavily on God even when things seem unclear. I ask you to rise and join us in the Prayer of the Penitent."

Chase stood alone with one hand on the casket holding his fathers body, he'd waited for the immediate site to slowly but surely clear of everyone before taking a private moment. The casket was still suspended above the grave that had been dug beforehand, ready to be lowered once the graveyard was empty of the patrons. Chase knew he wasn't completely alone yet, as Morgan was still close by a few rows away maybe as well as a few others. The man was aware of their presence but was wholeheartedly focused on what was in front of him.

"I'm sorry." The man said quietly with a strained voice. Throughout the ceremony Chase had remained an unsteady rock, but a rock nonetheless. However the man had now reached a point where he needed to let a few of the emotions out and allow some tears to flow because he knew bottling it all up for later wouldn't be a good idea in the least. Despite everything that had happened, in this moment he was having a difficult time letting go and say goodbye. Slowly but surely he started gathering himself as time went by, wiping at his eyes with the sleeves of his shirt before he started walking away.

William stood, his hands resting idly on the handles of Elijah's wheelchair as they stood alone at the edge of the cemetery not far from the church itself. He had sat silently through the service, interspersing his attention on the minister as well as Chase and the women seated behind him. Eli had remained uncharacteristically silent and dour-faced throughout the proceedings, the only sound he made being to fidget uncomfortably in the wheelchair. Will suspected Joe's death had affected him more than he cared to admit. Will wasn't any better off -- he still felt every ounce of guilt he had when he first entered the Rec Center to see Joe's bloodied corpse.

"You think he'll be okay?" Elijah asked, his eyes turned to look at Chase from across the manicured grass as the man slowly left the casket's side, the last to do so.

"Nobody's really okay after losing someone that close," Will said simply, before taking a deep breath. "But... he's strong." His eyes turned to fall on the woman that had come with the werewolf, Emily. "And by the looks of it he's found his own support system," he added, with no hint of malice in his voice. He didn't share the trust that Chase had for the Pack, but he could understand it objectively. He wouldn't be surprised to find out the young woman was with them, but even if she was he wasn't about to start scrounging for silver. Not here, not now.

Adelaide stood near Ashley-May, raising a hand to rub her shoulder. "You were great," she said, referencing the woman's tribute to Joe. She felt a tug at her heart and turned to find the source: Chase slowly heading away from his father's casket. The son's grief had been a constant throughout the service, though he hid it well. Her proximity to him hadn't helped matters; she ended up feeling every bit of sadness for Joe as if she had known the man. As she watched him depart, she sighed deeply. Her eyes glanced over "Emily", curiosity once again rising up. The young wolf had been an interesting presence throughout the service. Despite her attempts to avoid digging through the mind of a stranger, Addy couldn't help but detect her almost childlike wonder at some of her surroundings, the anxiety at the close proximity of so many humans, all underlined by a protective, almost sisterly outlook for Chase.

Excusing herself for a moment, Adelaide slowly made her way toward Emily. She didn't know what her plan was -- or even if she had one. Approaching the woman, she could see her attention divided between Chase and the various other visitors wishing to pay their respects; she seemed almost overwhelmed by the stimuli. Drawing up alongside her, she smiled genuinely. "Hey, Emily. How are you enjoying Vitae? I'm sorry you couldn't be here under better circumstances."

Mackenzie stood aside with Ashley-May, who had become distraught after speaking about Joe. Ash has said it was due to the pregnancy and its effects on her, but Mac knew the truth: Ash wore her heart on her sleeve at all times and she had been drawn to Joe and his fatherly advice. Ash had told Mac his suggestions of returning to school, that it was just as good as hunting; if not better. Mac had always encouraged Ash to go back to what she had, even knowing what she did now she knew her partner was not the hunting type. She wasn't made for this world like Mac, Will or Eli was.

Once more she could see Ash starting to break down and she reached up to tuck some of her blonde hair behind her ear. "It's okay to cry, Ash." She said quietly to her friend. "It's normal." Ash gave her a pouting smile and whispered. "You don't cry." To which Mac smirked and leaned in. "I'm not normal."

Ashley-May had been ever aware of Eli's presence though the funeral and now at the distance he was. She still felt the very real emotions from their prophetic dream; where they had shared love, life and a child together. It stung knowing he didn't want that with her. All she wanted was to be comforted by him and she couldn't. Instead she leaned into Mac, letting the tiny hunter comfort her instead.

Morgan had done her best to curb her curiosity. She was here for Chase, physically and spiritually, but her mind ever wandered. She had to keep herself in check every so often as she 'people watched' other groups, though very specifically avoided watching any of the hunters that had spoken to Chase -they would be the most likely able to identify her for what she was. She kept a distance somewhere between allowing Chase his privacy to wish his father farewell and close enough to be there should the event arise.

She heard footfalls behind her and the grass and Addy's scent announced her before her voice did. She turned to face the woman after she spoke, offering her a small smile. She was different to the rest of the group that still milled about waiting for Chase; she smelt like the colony, and the perfumed items all humans used to scent themselves, but there was more. She smelt like flowers and herbs and Morgan idly wondered if she were like the shaman; using plants and the like for healing concoctions and the like.

"It's pleasant here," She answered Addy's inquiry, glancing around to the buildings and people that were nearby before turning her sight to the woman before her. "Everyone here is nice, mostly. They seemed to like Joe a lot, too. Which is great." She tilted her head aside, biting her lip before asking. "Are you a hunter too? Like the others." She nodded to the set of women and men that still stood further back."

Elijah found his eyes drifting in the direction of Ashley-May and not for the first time during the service. She looked nothing short of stunning in her dress and more than once he found himself staring without realizing it. Still, she could have been dressed in his sweatpants and oversized T-shirt from earlier and he still would have found her beyond beautiful. His heart ached as he saw her -- obviously upset -- leaning against Mackenzie for support as she fought off tears. Eli wanted nothing more than to climb out of the wheelchair, march over, and comfort her in whatever way he could. But he couldn't... maybe never again. He had closed that door, possibly forever. He had told himself it was for the greater good, but now seeing the woman he could have loved -- he had his doubts. Hands gripping the armrests of the wheelchair, his eyes fell to the manicured grass of the cemetery.

Will noted his sudden drop in mood and had followed his gaze, knowing the reason. He cleared his throat. "C'mon. They're serving food over there. You need to eat." Elijah said nothing, simply nodding. William took that as all the confirmation he would receive, turning to wheel his partner toward the distant tables.

Adelaide smiled, noting Emily's hesitation in asking about her profession. She shook her head, slowly. "Not exactly. I work with Hunters from time to time, but I don't consider myself one." Adele paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. She didn't want to spook the young werewolf, but she also wanted to be more direct in her questioning than Mackenzie had been. "I'm... sort of a specialist. A white witch, actually. I was born a psychic." Allowing the words to sink in, she kept her tone even and non-threatening as she continued speaking, "Which is how I know who you really are, Morgan." Addy raised a placating hand. "Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you. I haven't told anyone else and I don't plan to. I just wanted to know why you're actually here."

Ginny sighs, sitting in her bunk in the barracks, in a very somber mood. She didn't go to the funeral, but she caught a glimpse of Chase on her way back. A son forced to bury his own father, from the looks of it. It strikes pretty close to home.

She sighs, looking up at the cieling. She wishes she could believe that her family watches over her, but that's a privilege reserved for those in heaven, from what she's heard. And for no sin other than their will to survive, her family can never go there.

It had only taken a small look around to see the paired off groups. Morgan speaking with Adelaide, Mac with Ashley as the blonde let out everything she had, then Will and Elijah now heading towards the food. Chase let out a sullen huff before heading towards the food area himself, mainly because he knew he should try and speak to the others while he was here and partially because the leftover egg sandwich Emile had half-eaten for him had worn off. It would be good for Morgan to speak to someone not of the pack he thought, and Ashley looked about how he felt internally so he'd give the girl her time.

Chase was in no rush, and despite walking faster than Will was pushing Elijah he'd arrive a little after the other men. Chase stopped just in front of the table, peering over at Elijah and up to Will behind him then back again. "So how much longer are you stuck in that wheelchair?" He asked, starting up the conversation and passing by the introduction bit. Chase never got the details of Eli's diagnosis considering he hadn't even gotten the chance to visit the man after the Pan incident before Will and Mac found him out and he ended up leaving. The last time he'd even spoken to the man was when Eli found out about him being a Werewolf.

Morgan listened with interest as Addy informed her as to what she actually was, she'd never met a white witch before -the only ones she had know in the past were borrowers. The pack didn't deal with their kind directly, given how they got their power; but from time to time they were visited by one or another interested in attempting to broker deals on behalf of whatever demon they were associated with. She'd never spoken to one directly, Emile was always quick to disperse them from their territory.

Addy went on to explain that she was also a physic, the word gave Morgan pause, not because she didn't understand it but because she knew exactly what that was. Eyes widened slightly and she paled visibly as Addy spoke her name, called her for what she is and claimed she wasn't going to tell anyone. She glanced to Chase as he made his way towards the crowd of gathered mourners, no chance at flagging him down without startling the other hunters. The two women Addy had been with were also trailing away which left her alone with the woman.

"I came here for Chase." There was no point in lying about anything, the physic would know. "He's part of our pack, he's part of my family. We will not let him be trapped here." She warned, she was starting to feel cornered, nowhere to run and she certainly wasn't about to fight her way out. "We'll leave," She offered then, once more glancing to Chase. "Just let me get him and we'll go."

William was glad to see Chase approach the tables where he and Elijah stood. At the very least he wasn't angry enough to avoid him entirely. Elijah turned to regard the man with a nod before he asked about the length of his recovery. Eli grimaced. "Not sure. A few more weeks at least, I imagine," he said solemnly.

"It would be a lot shorter if he didn't insist on tearing out his sutures," Will muttered under his breath. Elijah scoffed but said nothing. William finally turned to face Chase, cocking his head in the direction of Emily. "How's your friend enjoying Vitae?" he asked neutrally.

Adelaide frowned, shaking her head vehemently as she felt the panic well up inside the young woman. She took Morgan's hand in her own instinctively, "No, you don't need to do that," she said quickly. The witch paused, releasing Morgan's hand with an apologetic smile. "I didn't mean to startle you. I'm just... I wanted to make sure you were here for the right reasons. Everyone here is a little on edge lately, as I'm sure you can imagine. Trust me: I'm new here, and there are probably some Hunters here who would kill me if they knew what I was. They don't always see shades of grey."

She bit her lip briefly, "How's Chase doing? With the Pack, I mean? I only met him this morning, but he's important to a lot of people here, just like his dad," Addy said with a tinge of sadness.

Chase didn't realize how serious the injuries were until Eli mentioned a few more weeks. "I'd say I could relate but you know..." Chase shrugged innocently, werewolf healing and all that. The man regarded Will carefully as he mentioned Morgan, maybe it was an innocent question or maybe he was looking for more. It was hard to say, if it was then he was much more subtle than his female counterpart. Chase's eyes followed over Will's shoulder towards where Morgan stood across the graveyard with Adelaide still, "It's a lot to take in for her, but she likes it." Chase spoke as he turned back towards the table, alcohol set off to the side that he was considering heavily but opted against because he wanted a clear head and he'd be driving eventually.

"She's like me, if that's what you want to know." He mentioned vaguely knowing only those two would catch on, head swinging back to look at the two. "This isn't what she's used to, I've noticed her nervousness. But she came to make sure I was okay." Despite speaking rather leisurely in the aftermath of the funeral his eyes told a different story. Chase was telling them now so hopefully no surprises arose later, and he was trusting them to at the very least be civil.

A slight flush had risen to her cheek as Addy had taken her hand to calm her, it was instinctive to want to run, to fear what hunters might to do her -and Chase, should they find out what she truly was. She nodded slowly as Addy apologized for scaring her, assured her she was in much the same predicament that she and Chase were; she wasn't quite a deep in the rabbit hole as a werewolf, but she'd heard tales of hunters being ruthless creatures, destroying anything and anyone they came into contact with that was not purely human. She was soon questioning how Chase got on with the pack and a slow smile crossed her lips.

"He's doing well enough," She said quietly, as much as she wanted to gossip she doubted it would do either of them good to announce their connection to the Alpha himself. She wanted to trust Addy, she felt like she could to an extent but she didn't want to push it too far. "He's part of our pack now, one of us, and we take care of our own." It wasn't a slight, but a simple statement; the pack would not abandon him short of him killing another wolf, and even those events certainly had circumstances leading up to them.

Once more she was regarding Addy with curiosity, given there was no backing out of this now she may as well ask her all the questions she had wanted to ask Chase since arriving. "I've never met a white witch," She said slowly, attempting to judge the other woman's reaction to her probing. "What does that even mean? I know what a witch is -or at least I think I do, but I didn't know there was a difference. And you're a psychic, does that mean just reading thoughts? Or like can you move things without touching them too? And why would you come to a colony of hunters who might want to kill you?"

Elijah rolled his eyes at Chase's response. "Not all of us are blessed with rapid healing, I'm afraid," he murmured, making sure his words didn't travel any further than needed. He followed Chase's gaze toward Emily, nodding with the man's words before turning upward to look at Will expectantly. Eli had kept Chase's secret -- he wouldn't be quite literally crying wolf about a woman that the man clearly trusted. He didn't know if Will felt the same way; as guilty as his partner clearly felt about Joe's passing, he was still disappointed in the man's trust in the Pack.

Will simply nodded his understanding as Chase confirmed his suspicions, not missing the warning glance that accompanied it. "I'm glad you have someone to watch out for you," he said, quietly but sincerely. He cocked his head, seeing Adelaide seemingly embroiled in conversation with the female wolf. "Addy's already figured it out on her own, it looks like," William mused.

Elijah looked to Chase, shrugging. "Psychic. She gets in everyone's business, but she's mostly harmless. Don't worry, she won't sell either of you two out."

Will hesitated for only a moment before nodding his agreement, clearing his throat before looking back at Chase. "I don't want to put any pressure on you here... but have you decided whether you'll be staying with the Pack? I made you a promise before I sent you to them." His throat tightened as his eyes flicked to the ground. "I failed in part of that... but the rest still holds up." His gaze rose once again, his tone hushed.

"I won't force you to do anything you don't want. I'm not going to out you -- or your friend over there -- to the Council. But, if you want to stay, there's still a place for you here. I'm not going to patronize you by saying the Pack's dangerous, even if I think it's true... I understand why you would trust them, even if I don't." He shrugged almost helplessly, knowing the ball was now in Chase's court, for better or worse.

Adelaide nodded as Morgan remarked that Chase was the Pack's responsibility now. She hadn't said it possessively; if anything it reassured Adelaide. Chase wasn't their prisoner, nor did he seem to be the subject of coercion. Morgan was being rather candid, all things considered. Though taken aback by the sudden barrage of questions, she smiled at the woman's almost childlike curiosity. She wasn't offended, in fact she found it refreshing be able to discuss her "gifts" so openly with someone other than Will, Eli, and now Mac and Ash. Addy decided to return the honesty she'd been given.

"In theory, a witch is anyone who practices magic, as you know. White witches, we have certain rules. We don't mess around with black magic when we can avoid it..." she cleared her throat, cocking her head to the side. "Though some of us have been known to dabble. The main difference is that we never deal with Demons, though. Most witches you hear about -- the malicious ones, they 'Borrow' their power from them, usually trading their own soul or that of someone else in the process. We don't; instead we learn our power through training and study -- years of it. Anyone can learn basic spells and rituals, but some are born with more natural talent than others. I had a leg up being born with my Gift, but chances are I'll never have the same kind of raw power as the older Borrowers." She shrugged with a smile. "Small price to pay for keeping my soul."

Adelaide continued, "As far as being a psychic, I was born this way. Didn't manifest until I was about six years old. I didn't really understand it at first... but it never scared me," she said thoughtfully, eyes glazing over for a brief moment before she kept on. "There's the telepathy -- reading surface thoughts and emotions. Not just with people: I can establish 'connections' with certain animals, sense supernatural presences, or get an 'impression' as to where an object has been... but that's more iffy."

"I'm young and still have a lot of learning to do." She paused, glancing toward the ground to settle on a small bunch of purple aster flowers sprouting out from around a tombstone nearby. Her fingers rose at her waist, subtly twisting at the air. One of the flowers strained before its stem was plucked as if by an invisible hand. Sparing a quick glance around to make sure no one else was watching, Adelaide smiled as the flower floated up to rest in the air in front of Morgan. "A souvenir. For you to remember Vitae by," Addy said with a sheepish smile.

"And to answer your last question... I came because I was called. William -- the 'false Alpha' -- and Elijah, the one who fought in the Trial. They're close friends of mine. I've worked with them several times and they wanted my help here in Vitae, so I came."

Morgan listened as Addy explained what she was further. She could never have imagined the differences in witches, now wondering if Emile had turned away others like Addy by mistake; at least now she had the knowledge with her, maybe she could help tell the difference in the future. What Addy shared was certainly an asset and interesting all around. Morgan hadn't been exposed to much more than other werewolves, vampires and the occasional witch. Humans were creatures to be feared and wary of; make them your ally before they become your enemy. Morgan's eyes followed Addy's as she looked at the flowers, confused until she could see one moving of his own volition. Soon enough it broke free of it's earthly bindings to rise before the wolf, a grin on her features. "Thank you." Morgan carefully took the flower suspended before her and brought it's petals to her nose; she certainly didn't need its close proximity to know it's scent, but it was a human gesture she had seen done on television and movies when someone is offered flowers.

She tucked the flower behind her ear as her eyes drifted to the two men that were mentioned before by Ash. She knew the false Alpha, in a sense. Brody had been very damning of the would be werewolf and his tactics through the woods; he had been reckless with his "pack" injuring both of those that had followed him. Douglas had been sent North after the ordeal, though the man had always been sensitive to stress. Brody's eye had taken a great deal of time to heal, even now he mentioned pain every so often.

"So if you're not a hunter, what do you do? Humans have jobs, right? Everyone works and gets money?" She was curious as to what else the woman before her could be other than a hunter. "And if you're not a hunter, then why did they call you here? Because they needed you to d a spell?" She bit her lip after a moment, a light flush returning to her cheeks. "Sorry if I'm asking too much."

"Psychic?" Chase asked rather surprised, looking back over at the two girls speaking. If Adelaide had indeed figured it out he could hazard a guess at where the conversation had gone. But both looked rather happy in whatever they were speaking on. Despite their reason for being here he couldn't help but enjoy seeing the other wolf enjoying herself in what might be considered his world, especially after spending so much time in hers recently.

Chase was going to speak before hesitantly looking around, nervous over who could potentially hear. Nobody was particularly close but he didn't want to chance it and motioned for them to move a little ways away from the table before he continued. "You made the promise Will, but it wasn't your job to have his back, that falls on his partner and son. All of it does." Chase swallowed, "Thomas heard me and Joe speaking about the pack in the barracks. My big mouth is what set his death in motion to begin with." Chase shook his head, more emotional than angry. "He killed him because of what I am, and he has zero remorse for it." He couldn't help but think back to the mans words seething with rage and poison.

"If he'd known you guys knew he would have gone after you too." Chase took a breath knowing he'd veered off course from Will's question. Though it was a comforting thought that Will still saw a place for him here, "Even if I wasn't going with the pack I couldn't stay here." Chase raised an arm towards the more inner section of the colony. "There's no way to know if Thomas told anyone else about me, I'd always be looking over my shoulder. I'm pack now, for good." Chase gave the pair a brief understanding smile that slowly faded. Despite an effort on Will's part to not patronize, he had by telling Chase he understood why the man trusted the pack. A small scowl on his face, "And why is it that you think I trust the pack Will, I'm curious. Because I can walk on four legs and wag my tell like the rest of them?"

William wished he could say Chase letting him off the hook for Joe's death absolved his guilt, but it didn't -- not really. If anything, it only made him feel worse knowing that the man blamed himself even more for his father's death. The only good news to come out of Chase's revelation was that there was no grander conspiracy at work: just one overzealous Hunter taking his misguided perversion of justice into his own hands. Even so, it was true that he'd told others before leaving Vitae. As much as he hated to hear Chase say it, his reasons for staying with the Pack were sound.

He didn't flinch at Chase's outburst, the man calling out implicit accusation that he'd only joined the Pack to be among the others of his kind. Will simply stared at him, slowly shaking his head. "No, Chase. Not because of what you are. But because in the time you've been at Vitae, you've been hunted, threatened, and blackmailed. Your father was killed under our watch. And it wasn't Vitae or us Hunters that avenged him -- it was the Pack. They've done more for you today than any of us have the entire time I've known you," he said, his voice solemn but steady. Elijah looked up at him, eyes narrowed, but he kept his mouth shut.

Adelaide's smile broadened as she saw Morgan tuck the flower behind her ear, shrugging at her thanks. She wasn't surprised to hear the questions continue and answered without hesitation. "I really don't mind," she said. "I like meeting new people..." her tone hushed as she added, "...Especially Pureblood werewolves. I've never met one of your kind before and actually, well, talked." Addy said, her foot tapping lightly at the grass below her.

"I loan my services out to people who need... certain kinds of assistance. Sometimes people need help getting rid of a poltergeist, or they want to find a missing loved one... or contact the spirit of one who's moved on. Hunters can help get rid of the things that go bump in the night, but there are other ways to help people when it comes to the supernatural. I do it 'pro bono' when I can... but I manage to get by," she said with a shrug. "I tried living a 'normal' life, in human society. I wanted to get into social work, that kind of thing." She hesitated, not sure if the job title meant anything to Morgan. The woman's next question had her hesitate -- she knew no small part of her being here was to help uncover the Pack infiltrator. "I think Will and Eli just needed someone they could trust and thought my gifts might come in handy," she said, though it pained her to lie to Morgan given the girl's forthright honesty thus far.

Hoping to change the subject and satisfy her own curiosity at the same time, Addy decided to ask a few questions of her own. "I imagine this is all new to you," she said, sweeping her hand in an all-encompassing gesture. "Have you ever spent time around this many humans? What's it like, compared to home?"

Morgan grinned wolfishly as Adelaide admitted she was the first pure-blood werewolf she's ever spoke too, it was more than a little pleasing to hear given she would have thought someone associated with hunters and the hunting colony would have had more experience. She was mere seconds from boasting, announcing that she wasn't just and pure-blood but she bit her tongue, not wanting to delve too deeply at this point. If things when to plan and if Adelaide was still in the colony at the time of, then there would be plenty of time to speak further about that topic.

She was delighted to hear that she used her gifts, both as a witch and a physic to help those in need. She was correct earlier when she spoke of other witches and the black magic they used -that was all that Morgan had ever heard of previous to this. Eyes traveled around the colony as Addy's gesture encompassed their surroundings, soon turning back to the other woman and her question. "Well," She glanced to Chase briefly, checking into make sure he wasn't stressed with his conversation before continuing. "I've never been this close to so many humans before, let along hunters." She spoke softly, as though to prevent others from hearing. Within the pack it would take a very soft voice to prevent others from hearing her words. "Home is mostly other werewolves, the pack." She gave a shrug of her shoulders. "There isn't much there besides homes. Some of the humans that stay with us -the mates of some of the pack members, they work in the city or town. The rest of us don't really. The land we live on earns money to buy what we need, what we can't grow ourselves."

She paused, smile returning. "I like going into town, always have. It's nerve wracking but it's worth it, to see what else there is. Do you know what bowling is?" She asked suddenly. "And how it works? I've heard of it, and I think I know but is it really just rolling a ball at sticks?"

Adelaide was interested to hear that humans lived with the Pack in Boresti. She suspected that wouldn't be accepted among many Packs. The idea that they had their own town, some measure of self-sufficiency... it was almost surreal. The Pack, mortal enemies of Vitae, living in a manner not so different from the Colonists here, like two sides of the same coin. She began to wonder if there was something Morgan was holding back about the Pack, some dark secret that maybe not even she was aware of: something that would justify the fear and hatred Vitae obviously held for them. But she couldn't find any hint of that.

Addy smiled at Morgan's obvious interest in humanity, especially the city. "Yes, I know what bowling is," she said lightly. "That's... basically the gist of it, but it's one of those things that's a lot more fun in the moment than it sounds from the outside," she remarked with a wink. She hesitated slightly, hands clasped in front of her. "You know I saw a bowling alley not far from here, about two towns over. I can't promise to be very good, but maybe I could show you what it's all about sometime?" She knew it was a foolish arrangement to try and make -- they were supposed to be enemies. And the lunar cycle was coming, the night of the Pack's assault supposedly imminent. It was absurd to make social plans with a werewolf she was supposed to be plotting against, but something compelled her to make the offer all the same.

Chase listened to Will's explanation before letting out a relaxing huff. "Sorry." Chase apologized to them both, hand reaching up to pinch the bridge of his nose for a moment before releasing. "Look," He was relaxed and planning to stay that way. "All of what you said probably plays a part in it I'll admit. And while we hardly know each other you should know enough by now, between me and Joe to understand some of what we stand for. You are both hunters yourselves, and while everyone has their own reasons and drives typically we share a common goal." Chase paused for a moment to let it sink in, "Do you really think I'd be with this pack if I didn't believe they had shared interests?" It was an honest question with no intent behind it other than to try and help them understand.

"I made a connection with them that I never wanted, or never knew I wanted I guess." The man shrugged his shoulders, head turning to look around and make sure nobody had wandered into hearing range. "But I would not sacrifice who I am as man, hunter, nor wolf for that. They want to stop the First Sin, and save lives in the process, but they can't do it alone. So if I'm doing the same thing I've always done, but with those that accept me and would have me then who am I to turn away from that?" He knew full well he didn't need to explain his reasoning to either of them. But that didn't stop him from wanting them to understand why he was making his choice and that the pack weren't the monsters they were made out to be.

Chase shuffled where he was standing slightly to lean on the other leg more as his left was getting tired and stiff. Arms crossing over his chest as the man let out a sigh, looking across the graveyard at his fathers casket. "I just don't want this Pack versus Vitae thing to go any further than it has to."

William was relieved to hear Chase regain his composure, Elijah's eyes flicking between the two men silently as he released a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. Both listened intently to Chase as he explained his motivations for staying with the Pack along with their intent to stop the First Sin. William's jaw clenched, but he continued to listen regardless. If everything Chase said was true -- or if Chase believed it to be true, then he couldn't fault the man for a second wanting to stay with the Pack. He just hoped that wouldn't put them at odds in the near future, as likely as it seemed.

"I just don't want this Pack versus Vitae thing to go any further than it has to."
Will sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Believe it or not, that makes two of us. I've fought too many wars. I don't want to fight another. I would love nothing more than for my job here at Vitae to be redundant, for the Pack to be our allies. The First Sin is serious, it needs to be stopped... but Vitae will never so much as acknowledge it with the threat of the Pack looming. I want to believe you, Chase. I want to believe the Pack is aren't the monsters the Council makes them out to be. But after what happened with Boresti, to Mac and her family... I can't."

William grabbed a foam cup from the table, filling it with lemonade as he spoke. "They're still out there right now, plotting against us. Right? Maybe it's to 'liberate' us," he said, his tone dubious, "Or maybe they plan to slaughter us, like what's already happened to two Colonies we know for a fact they've been somehow involved with. What would you do in my shoes, Chase? Would you take that leap of faith?"

Elijah had remained silent, picking food from the table as he wheeled himself to and fro, listening to the conversation but doing his best not to involve himself.

Morgan smiled at the suggestion that she and Addy go bowling some time, an eyebrow raised almost bemused but honestly intrigued. She loved the idea of going out with Adelaide, not because she was curious -she was immensely curious, but it was who the invitation was from that made it far more intriguing. Lips parted as she grinned wanting nothing more than to agree but she paused, knowing it was likely a date that would never occur.

She settled herself and nodded. "I would love that." She glanced back to Chase once more, he looked like he was getting along well enough; it was almost like what was coming didn't have to be, that maybe the Council would listen without the Pack forcing them too. She looked back to Adelaide, "What else is in that town? A movie theater? I've seen movies on tv and the like, but never in a theater. The popcorn smells so good." She laughed lightly. "Maybe one day I could take you to the Pack?" She spoke idly. "See how we live and do things."

Adelaide could sense equal parts confliction and interest from Morgan at her offer, watching her hesitantly. She wondered perhaps if she had been too forward and was on the verge of apologizing when the young werewolf grinned and accepted. Addy smiled delightedly, eyes falling to the ground briefly as she nodded. Adele listened with interest as Morgan asked what other attractions were in the town, perking up at the mention of a movie theater.

"Yes, actually," Adelaide said with a smile. She hesitated briefly, not wanting to give away Eli and Ash's plans on the night of the attack. "I've heard there's a drive-in theater there. Much better than TV. And yes, popcorn is the best." She felt her cheeks heat up slightly, wondering if the wolf was aware of the "implications" of two people visiting a drive-in together.

She pushed the thoughts aside as Morgan spoke again. Adelaide was taken aback at the offer to visit the Pack. Despite knowing the prospect should scare her, that they were enemies of Vitae and Will would go to any lengths to stop her... she felt nothing but curiosity and more than a little excitement. The idea of seeing the way the Pack lived was beyond intriguing to her, outside of human norms and society and yet far from alien.

Adelaide held eye contact, nodding once with a growing smile. "I'd like that." A thought dawned on her and she quickly added, "As long as your Alpha doesn't mind?"

Chase had little to fault Will for doing what he was doing, the other man wasn't entirely wrong, and that was what made this whole thing so frustrating. But he knew Hendrix was biased, because of his relationship with Mackenzie and what she'd told him of her family and past. He wants to protect her and to do that it means he has to keep the pack away. "You are part of the council Will. Isn't it your job to to figure it out? Because if you can't then why do all of these people need a council to begin with?" Chase let out a sigh, knowing full well he was pushing. Then following the other mans lead and getting himself a cup of lemonade as well. Momentarily he took a sniff before a sip, "If this has wolves-bane or something in it then I'm haunting Vitae." Despite the gruff tone and grumbling it was clearly a joke and he smelled no hint of anything, not that he really expected to.

"You could start with finding out just how much the council his hiding." Chase shrugged, cup kept just at his mouth before taking another drink of the refreshing drink. "You know Emile, the uh pack Alpha, he came here alone about two months ago to speak with the council about whomever it is that wanted to leave and join the pack. That was when the council threatened to exterminate the pack, now knowing they were nearby. The whole reason the pack isn't leaving Vitae be is because of the hostage and threats. They drew the first and second line." It was possible Will knew, and Chase was watching for any hint of this despite not believing so. He knew this wouldn't change much, but maybe Will would possibly dig more into the council. Any dirt he got could be used against them to get the rest of the colony to toss them out once the pack held Vitae.
