Howlite had been craving to do something, anything. Earth was great and all, but he wanted to have an adventure. So when the signal was found he was eager to follow it. Onyx being Howlite's closest friend came along to keep him out of trouble. The only thing was getting a ship. Pezzottaite, or Pezz for short had a ship, though it took some convincing due to the other's lack of wanting to do well anything. Howlite ended up just dragging the other small gem off to his ship. It wasn't the biggest ship but it still worked and Onyx took the reins to drive them off to the signal.

Across the galaxy, to learn of coming rescue would be cause for celebration to the senders of said signal. That is, if it happened when the message was sent. But in the thousands of years since, moods have gotten plaintive and the message itself nearly forgotten.

Under a field of stars sits a shack where a Pearl is busy sweeping out the remains of the latest sandstorm. Her work produces a hefty pile at the doorway, which she carefully lifts her skirt over as she steps outside for a breather. Of course, Spinel and Ruby are sitting in the same spot as before, giggling at whatever patterns they can pluck from the stars. Dropping her broom on Spinel, she tells her, "Can you dust off the antenna while I inspect the equipment? Ruby, please check on Iris." Contrary to Spinel's huffing and trudging, Ruby springs up with glee before disappearing down a hatch into the cliff rock below. Pearl keeps a neutral demenor as she returns to the shack.

It was taking longer than Howlite thought this trip would take, sitting in one of the chairs bored as Onyx was still behind the wheel. "Are we there yet?" Howlite asked Onyx who glanced over before looking back out into space so they didn't crash into anything.
"Has Pezz gotten up from the floor yet?" Onyx hummed as said gem was laying face down on the floor in the same spot Howlite had stopped dragging him on the ship.
Howlite let out a whine. "No." He mumbled.
"We'll be there soon." Onyx told him softly.

Bloodstone was another gem on the planet with the other gems, but they were a fusion. He was on the roof of the shack. Covered in sand having stubbornly stayed out during the sandstorm. Over the thousands of years stranded, Bloodstone was more than eager to get off this planet. He couldn't stab anyone here! Well he could but he'd get in trouble by Iris. So they just stabbed at nature or the sand. He spotted Spinel at the antenna and shook off the sand to get some on her with a snicker.

A clump of sand hits Spinel squarely in the back of her head, prompting her to to freeze. Slowly, she begins unspooling her arm from a support and twisting it until it's a tight coil. Sticking the broom in an untouched nook, she turns her head fully around, flashing a killer grin. Not a split second passes before Bloodstone is sandblasted with enough force to knock him over. Spinel's more or less unaffected. While the dust cloud kicked up from the broom being spun into a blur obscures Spinel's face and the drone it creates obscures her voice, there's not doubt she's cackling on the count of her keeping the spray focused on Bloodstone.

All the ruckus above elicits an eye roll from Pearl. "I should've told him to get off the roof," she thinks. The last thing she needs is either of them to come crashing through and ruin the machines seldom used yet maintained so dutifully. Face growing increasingly sour, a bit of relief comes when opening a panel and seeing the components clean. She sticks her head inside for a closer look, which also helps in distracting her from the foolishness on the roof.

The first thing to greet Ruby upon sliding down the hatch is Iris Agate barking, "ABOUT TIME!" One of those foul creatures is hanging limply from her spear while another huddles in the corner and several more are either scampering around or nipping at her legs. "They must've hid out in the mine." She flings the scaly thing off before lunging at the one in the corner. Then comes a shriek, followed by silence as a white flash consumes the room. It gradually fades, revealing a Ruby dazed as her mace drops onto one of the creature's snouts. Thankfully, it's already knocked out like the rest.
