Fandom Soul Eater: A New Beginning

His breathing became shallow as he look up to her. "Y-yes, let's get moving." He held out a hand, bringing back forth the emotional mask he is always wearing. "First day and we're already late." He chcukles softly. He curtly turned around and ran off to class. "See ya there!"

Atso stood on the steps of the DWMA reading through the papers he'd received the night previous. 'As you've requested, you have not been assigned a meister. This however may change if you are not able to preform as well as the other students.' The bell chimed, signaling that class was starting. "I guess i should go now, wouldn't want to keep our professor waiting," with a devious smirk on his face he ran to the window outside the classroom he had to be in. He watched as the students filed in one by one, it was obvious who was paired with who. 'They all act so friendly with each other, not knowing that in the next second their friend could abandon them, back stab them, betray them. Then there's that professor guy, they all take orders without question, he could lead them down a horrible road and none of them would know it until the consequences caught up with them.' He cracked the window slightly so that he could hear what was going on in the room.

Yuri

She sighed in relief when RJ returned to normal, she laughed when he ran off to class. "Hey!, wait for me!" she ran catching up to him glad that whatever was haunting him earlier seemed to be over. She smirked turning this into a race "How's it like back there?!" she called out laughing still just barely ahead of him, they were about the same speed.

As the bells began to signal the end of socialization, Break headed for the room he was destined to be in. He'd at least have a familiar teacher this time. Someone that he considered a friend, to an extent. Though that was likely because Break was about the closest in age to him having been a student for quite some time. He made his way through the familiar halls, trying to shepard the freshmen towards their classes.

Finally, Break broke into the room with a confident stride, scanning the location for his seat. Before he sat down, however, he leaned over on the teacher's podium and mentioned, "Another year, Professor? Word has it that they're calling me your "teaching assistant" to try to make this less weird for everyone when there aren't any matches."

He laughed and gave his usual hint-hint grin, "Hey, least you're not going to buckle on me like the partner last year. Try to make a Death Scythe quickly, hear?"

A friendly face was leaning over, course with as many students there were it could've been anybody, but Calvin knew who it was. "Ah Break, how is my assistant this year?" Calvin knew Break fairly well, years upon years Break hadn't had a partner, so they spent a lot of time with each other. "Oh, I wouldn't be so sure of that, you just might be a death scythe before the year is out." He gave Break a familiar smile, not the friendly one he gave his new students, but the smug look he carried in battle and training exercises. Then returned to his list, the class was barely occupied. He sighed, these kids were certainly testing his patience. Today's class wouldn't consist of much, but he wanted to get his introduction out the way, then they could go and get better affiliated with their partners.

Death the Kid walked slowly and calmly out of his office. It was a new semester, which meant that there would be a handful of new students roaming the halls of the DWMA. It was Kid's task to go to each individual classroom and greet the students for a new semester. He pulled his black hood down over his face, standing for a moment to compose himself. He looked around to see that the hallways were emptying out quickly and smiled. 'At least some of the student are determined to be on time," Kid thought to himself. Then he pulled his shoulders back and stood up tall, the black fabric of his cloak shifting around him. In his right hand he held a mask. A mask that he was expected to wear now. He held it up in front of his face with both hands and looked into the angry looking black eyes of the mask. The mask was similar to that of his father's, showing the likeness of a skull. He ran his thumb over the smooth surface of the mask and studied it a moment longer. Then he took a deep breath and slid the mask on over his face.

He began walking down the hall, his cloak, which curled in odd angles at the end, skirting behind him. He clasped his gloved hands together in front of him as he headed down the hall to his first classroom, that of Professor Calvin Wing.

R.J smirked at the challenge at hand. He burst ahead of her, gaining ahead of her with newfound gusto. "You're going to need years of training if you're going to best me at anything!" He kicked up large amounts of sand as he vanished inside of the school. He turned around to gloat in his victory, but was not paying attention to a red haired giant walking in front of him. With the momentum of his speed he didn't have any time to stop, he just closed his eyes and launched himself into the giants back.

Emanuel noticed his partner leaving the front of the classroom, to go sit down somewhere in the back. There were a lot of students here. He didn't like it. He had always prefered smaller groups of people over large. He just stood there for a second, and then like an obedient dog or something followed Sol to sit down next to her (I assume we're going with the auditorium shaped classrooms?) and leaned his chin on the table thing in front of him. He was pretty tired after all. Wonder when the lesson started?..... He slowly drifted off into sleep. He didn't snore, but it should be pretty obvious that he wasn't awake.

((For those of you all not here its just introductions, the rest of the day was here for you anyways.))

"For those of y'all who decided to join me, I thank you." Calvin looked up from his list, noting the clock. It was already well past the start of the class and people had been anxiously waiting for him to begin the lesson. "This lesson wasn't mandatory, but it would help all those involved. So, I am Professor Wing, or just Professor for those of you who feel comfortable enough. I will be teaching you all about wavelengths and their relationship with the soul, that and any questions you have." He scanned the room, noting the intrigued, non-caring, and the tired looks.

"Today the lesson is short, for I only have one thing to say; Souls aren't meant to be oppose each other, they are meant to compliment each other.". Calvin looked around. "Any questions before I continue?". He hoped somebody would ask a question, for this was hardly showing his own personality.

Kid stood in the doorway of Professor Wing's doorway. He was silent, and one white gloved finger was resting on his mask, as if her were thinking. He wanted to hear how Calvin was greeting his class, and what kind of massage he intended to give. He nodded his head as Calvin finished his opening statement, and then he took two silent steps into the classroom. His breath warmed his face beneath the mask and escaped out the bottom, making hardly any sound. Unless someone was looking directly at him Kid would go unnoticed.

His gaze swept around the room, eyes sizing up and analyzing every student he saw. He began searching for old face, and his eyes were instantly drawn to the young and prideful Sword Breaker. Kid nodded approvingly at Breaker's attendance, glad that he had not been discouraged by another year without a student partner. Then Kid's eyes went to the new faces. He saw potential, determination, and courage as well as fear, coldness, and asocialism. What an interesting collection of children. It would be an interesting semester.

Kid walked quietly over to the side of Professor Wing, waiting patiently for any questions to be asked and answered.

Mac relaxed when his partner gave him a sort of compliment. Smiling, he nodded, "Hey X, call me Mac Sta… I mean… just Mac." 'You have to stop calling yourself Mac Star. People will think you're weird!' Then his attention was drawn away by a bell.

"Yeah, let's get going," he stated nervously. He didn't want to be inferior, but was too afraid he would end up being just that. He was almost to scared to try. At least the bell had given him time. He didn't have to show his partner the horrible weapon form he had yet.

Yukina

He looked around the classroom and almost had an inner fangasm as he saw kid enter the room, really he was one of his biggest fans, he had always wanted to be like him and he was glad to finally see him in person, he was wearing Death's mask but it was him all right. He had a feeling he was going to like this place. His meister wasn't here so he was a little disappointed but he was one of the few excited faces" in the room only lighting up more when his role model had walked in the room. He spoke up "Yes?, professor you said that souls are mean't to compliment each other which is definitely a true statement but I was wondering how do you know which weapons and meisters are going to be a good match? I'm just curious how you would determine such a thing is it based on personality?" He wanted to know how they knew him and Ahri were a good match without even seeing him only seeing his information on some paper...
Xen

She wondered how much trouble they were going to be in for being late, right before Yukina had asked his question she and Mac had barged in "I apologize... were late on the first day sorry" she saw Kid in there beside the professor. She bowed in respect to them and then hurried to an empty seat, how awkward... well there went her hopes for a good first impression...

"Thank you two for joining us." Calvin shot them a smile, friendly enough to reassure they weren't in trouble. "Strawberry the person you are paired with is a test. We don't know who exactly will work, but we put you together because we felt as though you will match. No two souls can be judged by a personality sheet, but we do our best without individually trying you out. I hope that answers your qestion". Calvin knew Kid was there, but he knew he wouldn't interrupt. "That's all I have for them Sir, take over when you see fit.". Calvin stepped back, allowing Kid ample room to conduct himself.

Kid smiled from beneath his mask. He turned his head towards Professor Wing and bowed his head towards him. Then, Kid stepped into Calvin's place, his movements smooth and possessing a subtle grace. A bout of whispers worked their way around the classroom as Kid stepped up, mainly among the new students. He expected this, and clasped his hands behind his back in patience. He shifted his weight o the balls of his feet and then the heel, a motion nearly unnoticeable beneath his cloak. Once silence filled the room he cleared his throat.

"Hello, and welcome to the DWMA. This academy was established for the most talented young weapons and meisters of each generation to come and refine their skills and reach their full potential. I understand you all had an... eventful morning to say the least. Most have you were assigned partners before coming here. I believe Mr. Yukina's question voiced a concern many of you may have had. While you are here it is my job as your headmaster to challenge all of you as students. You have been paired by two pieces of criteria. One, your soul wavelengths match well enough so that the meister may wield their weapon properly. Two, your personalities or weapon form pose some kind of challenge for the partnership. Here at the DWMA we believe that overcoming challenge leads to growth and strength. By locating and overcoming the challengr in each partnership you will be able to find perfect balance in your partnership and work fluently, strongly, and symmetrically. Within the next few days you will be able to take missions posted outside of this classroom. These missions are open to all students and are offered so that students may collect souls on the path to creating Death Scythes. In order to do this a weapon needs to consume the souls of 99 kishin's and 1 witch. You will report back to me after every mission with results and number of souls consumed, and I will monitor important missions personally. Not only is this a place of learning, this is where you will begin to make your impact on the world by riding it of evil and madness. You are the protectors of our future and you have a heavy burden placed on you, but you are not alone. You will rely on you peers and teachers for support. We are in this as a collective group and we will continue on that way. Every person in here was accepted because for their potential to do amazing things. With that I will step down and give Professor Wing the spotlight once again. Please do not forget that you are expected to treat the faculty here with utmost respect. Thank you, and again, Welcome to the Death Weapon Meister Academy,"

Kid stood there for a moment, letting a moment of silence tie off the end of his speech. He never understood how his voice carried so well from behind the mask. He didn't like wearing it but he did it out of respect for Death's tradition. Then he bowed to the students and took a step back. He turned to Professor Wing and put a hand on his shoulder, nodding once again in respect.

"Thank you for letting me interrupt your class my friend, carry on," Kid took his other hand and brought it to his mask. He slid it off and smiled at Calvin kindly. He turned his head to the class one more time.

"If any of you have any questions feel free to visit me in my office after class," He smiled at all of them as well. The he spun on his heel and headed out the door, polished shoes clicking on the tile floor as he went.

Death the Kid's Opening Speech

Calvin was motivated by the speech, but kept that hidden calmly. "Anytime Kid, it was a great speech.". He watched as he disappeared from the class, his grace never being questioned as he walked.

"With the introductions out of the way, your first day is complete. The rest of today you are encouraged to get to know your partner, train if able, and relate on a social level. Your partner isn't your life, you need to meet other teams too, for joint missions aren't a rare finding on the board. With that I bid you a good day, be ready for tomorrow, and be here early. Also, Break and Cross, I need to see you. Dismissed!" Calvin was tired just from this day, and as such he sat in his desk awaiting questions and his two weapons.

Ryushi half-walked-half-ran down the hallways of the DWMA. He looked at his little slip of paper that told him where his classroom was. He sighed, picking up the speed so he wouldn't be too late. He turned and took the steps upstairs two at a time, trying his best to make it. He tripped on the final stair, slamming his face into the floor. He groaned, slowly getting to his hands and knees. He finally stood up, brushing the dust off of himself. He decided against his better judgement to just run to his class, so he started to pump his legs in the direction of his classroom. He saw the room number on the slip, and felt a feeling of victory that he finally found it.

What he didn't expect was a cloaked man in a mask walking out. He ran into him, falling over. He looked up into the face of the Headmaster of the DWMA, Death the Kid. He swallowed and mumbled an apology, standing up quickly and bowing. He was about to run into the classroom when he heard the teacher dismiss the class. He stood there like an idiot as some students stood up, some stayed sitting, but mostly all eyes stayed on him. He groaned, turning to the teacher. "
Sorry, sir. I got caught up in a family problem, and then couldn't find the classroom." He looked down, to avoid the gazes that looked at him and wallowed in his own shame. Both reasons were true, and he could prove the first, but he was worried about if he would get in trouble on his first day in school.

"Oh no problem, I just gave my introduction. I am your professor, Professor Wing or just Professor." He gave a smile to the late student, he had been in the situation before and he knew yelling didn't help. "We were discussing your homework in a way, go find your partner and get to know each other, train, meet some other teams. It will help for tomorrow when you start choosing missions." Calvin realized he hadn't even got the kids name. "What is your name?".

Ryushi stood up a little straighter. "My name is Ryushi Morimoti. I was supposed to start here last year, but I only recently was cleared to come here. I had a health issue through the year." He bowed slightly. He watched as a few students walked past him, eyeing him like a piece of new meat. He tried to make himself a little smaller. It didn't help that he was over six feet tall. He was nervous, since he had stayed away from school for so long. He would have to get back into the routine. He turned back to the teacher, putting on a nervous smile. "Nice to meet you, Professor Wing. And I guess I should go find my partner, yeah. But I don't know what they look like." He shrugged lightly. "I guess I'll figure it out soon enough. I hope that this will be a great year for me, sir. Thank you." With another slight bow, he turned and hurried out the door into the thriving mass of students. He sighed, then started to walk down the hall, wondering if he would ever be able to find his partner in all this chaos.

Break stayed silent and somber during Kid's speech, mentally going over the checklist of things that would mirror last year. Without fail, he matched his previous speech's talking points exactly. It was a level of pure efficiency that Break practically worshiped.

With the day's technical ending, Break acquiesced to the Professor's wishes immediately. He joined Wing at his station, waiting to see who this "Cross" character was. As he joined the man, another student came up to speak. This one had missed the first day completely. Break crossed his arms and stared down his nose at the new kid, apparently Ryushi, and waited for his departure. As the other left, Break greeted his mentor, "Ready when you are, sir."

"I will fill you into until Cross arrives." Calvin was relaxed, Break would like the news. "Neither you or Cross have a partner to fit, your personality yet. While this is unfortunate it is also a strike of luck, for you both will be my weapons." Calvin had a smirk on his face that Break would no with no doubt copy. "I need a weapon to teach the kids to connect and eventually resonate with, both you and Cross can help on my mission, and truth be told you are both a little crazy as weapons. I know your clan, and know handling you isn't child's play and Cross, she is a demon weapon enough said." Calvin had begun to ramble, he looked up to see Break's reaction. "So, sound like a plan assistant?".

Atsoku listened intently to the speech being given by his headmaster. Although he didn't enjoy the company of others, he could appreciate those who deserved it. 'He's a bit square, but powerful. I'd love to see his scythe in action.' After Kid finished up his speech, and left the room Atso's attention was drawn to the troubled student who came in late. "Just relax kid, everything will be fine," he whispered to himself.

Atso picked at the windowsill he sat on and now held a small stone in his hand. 'Well, I might as well make myself known.' He burst through the window, flying through the air toward the front of the classroom. At the peak of his flight he tossed the pebble he held at Ryushi, which hit him on the top of the head. There were shrieks from some of the students as they noticed what was going on, there was a loud noise as he landed on the floor. "Hey professor, I'm ready for class," he gave a small laugh as he walked over to Ryushi. "Relax kid, no one likes someone who's not composed."He walked out of the classroom.

Realm Watcher got up quietly and walked out the classroom. She had been sitting in the very back, her feet kicked up on the desk in front of her, and hear head leaning back lazily. Only when Kid entered the room did she sit up straight and seem attentive, her eyes watching him with unwavering focus and determination to carry out his wishes. Afterwards, however, she returned to her laid back and uncaring state. She would have loved to stay and chat with the other students and all, but she would have been left out. Being a meister without a weapon made her feel useless, sure, but she knew she just had to be patient.

She put her hands in her pockets and casually strolled out of the classroom, seemingly unnoticed. She was about to walk down the hall to explore the school, but something caught her eye. She glanced to the side and realized she was standing in front of the Mission Bulletin posted outside of Professor Wing's classroom. The missions must have been put up while Kid was giving his speech, because the previously empty board now had plaques with missions etched into them hanging in rows above her. She figured she would take this free moment to scan all the missions, none of which she would be able to go on, simply to avoid the inevitable storm of students who would be eager to pick missions.

Atsoku slammed the door behind him, hoping that no one would come out in fear of confronting him. He took a step down the hall, paused, then turned to the girl next to him. She seemed to have ignored him, or somehow didn't notice him. He reached over her shoulder and smacked the board, when he removed his hand he held in it one of the mission plaques. "So, it seems you've not got a partner. Why bother looking at the board?" He showed the mission to her. "It's interesting that so many people want the few things they can't have, but never take the chance to appreciate what they've got," he stopped himself, he was getting a little to into it.
